Oh hey, it's been a while, I should play the latest update.
*Names MC Karina Zane...an M-mancing MC without knowing Carina is M's own aunt.*
*After finding out*: Ah...Shit
But for real, I'm really happy to have the option of being happy for K in moving on XD My MC isn't particularly vengeful (Kinda have this headcanon image of her having been pinning for M for years and it solidified during her captivity, wishing she could see them one more time.)
Feel free to ignore this ask, but I want to say I love the chapters you've work so hard on ;-; FUCK, it hurts to see how many people got affected from the kidnapping incident..
As for my question: Say MC has a thing where scent gives them the safety they needed most and the RO came home early to find MC hugging and clinging to a clothing of theirs that smelled of them the most, just burying their nose in the fabric or even having a little clothing nest if they could be spared. When MC notices them, they get embarrassed and try to come up with a logical, 'totally normal' reason to be sniffing their SO's clothes. How would they react/approach this?
I've done the exact thing multiple times! In fact, there are two canon women with that first name-- Carina Steele and Karina Ashford, both of whom you meet. I just thought the name was neat when creating Detective Ashford that I completely spaced on Carina Steele; even though I absolutely adore her.
I'm excited for your Karina to begin romancing M. I just know that it'll be a fun adventure for you both. I can't wait for you to see what's in store for M-Mancers down the road! In fact, there's a scene coming up that I think you're going to enjoy quite a bit. And thank you for your kind words! I truly appreciate it a great deal. I'm so honored that I have people like you reading my story, and that I get the privilege of being able to interact with you too. Thank you so much for being here! For being your wonderful self!
As for your question?
--------------------------------------------------
Kade/Kara: "What're you doing, sweetheart?" They tilt their head, hazel eyes flitting over the nest of clothes you had crafted on the bed. A warm look quickly took over the one of confusion that had been prominent only a second before; a gentle smile appears at the corner of their lips. "Having a lazy afternoon? I'll join you once I've changed out of my work clothes. Is that all right?"
Michael/Margot: Complete adoration flickers across their face, warmth completely suffused within the azure blue of their gaze. "I have a bunch of sweatshirts that I could give you, baby," they murmur, sitting on the edge of the bed, making sure not to disturb the nest, as a gentle look etched itself across their face. "Why don't I go get them and you can turn on something that we can watch? I won't be gone long, I promise."
Blaine/Blaire: They tilt their head. "Whatcha got there?" Plopping down onto the bed beside you, they toss you an award-winning smile. Their focus only shifts when they pick up one, of the many, shirts you had used to make your nest upon the bed you shared with them. "You know," they muse, a thoughtful hum interlaced with the words. "I wasn't even aware I had this many shirts. I guess I've found a good use for them, huh?"
Wren/Wynn: Confusion filters across their face before dawning realization eclipses it. And, from that confusion, a look of gentle sincerity appeared. "There's no need to be ashamed of this, MC." They shrug, an almost smile curling their lips. "I'm honored that you find so much comfort in me. I'll try to make sure that the feeling remains no matter what, okay?"
Nicholas/Natalie: A shy smile graces their lips at the sight that greets them on their bed. The warm expression causes their gray eyes to appear almost silver within the dimming light of the room. "You like to be surrounded by my clothes." It's said as more of a statement, the fact that it is, and you don't even have a chance to respond before they continue. "I'm assuming it has something to do with my scent, right?" They wait for your approval, one that you give in the form of a nod before their expression softens even more. "You can always cuddle me now, dearest one. I think I'm slightly better company than an old hoodie."

20 Questions for Writers
Thank you so much for the tag, @thecharmedburrowspn-files!
How many works do you have on AO3?
18, although one is the unfinished draft of the previous version of my LotR fic, which I uploaded simply to have it exist somewhere (and to remind me how far I've come).
What is your total AO3 word count?
Barring the aforementioned archived draft, 49,981.
What fandoms do you write for?
Right now, The Vampire Diaries (TV-verse), The Grishaverse (bookverse) and The Lord of the Rings (bookverse).
What are your top five fics by kudos?
My TVD fic From the Sidelines; my LotR fic Edged in Silver; my Silmarillion gapfiller Hallowed Waters; my multi-age Tolkien-verse gapfiller The Wings of Blue Butterflies; and my LotR gapfiller The Fifth Day.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I always respond to comments, because I want to interact with my readers. They took the time to let me know what they thought of my work, and I want them to know I appreciate that. Plus, this kind of interaction can lead to interesting discussions.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hallowed Waters, I guess, because it's a gapfiller focusing on the story of Beren and Lúthien, and that by itself is angsty.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I wouldn't say happy, but rather optimistic, there's-light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel ending. The Fifth Day and The Sails are Set fit that description.
Do you get hate on your fic?
I did get a couple of odd comments on a previous version of Edged in Silver, but no hate.
Do you write smut?
Not really. I can do it, but it just doesn't have a purpose in my stories, so I don't see the point of writing smut for smut's sake.
Do you write crossovers?
No, but I wouldn't be averse to it if it made sense.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes, years ago, when I was in the X-Men fandom, and it made me realise that I'm too much of a control freak to attempt it again.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
Howl/Sophie from Diana Wynne Jones' Howl's Moving Castle series. It's just such a beautiful ship, they fit so wonderfully together.
What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Honestly, I don't know.
What are your writing strengths?
Creating vivid visuals without using too much description, I think.
What are your writing weaknesses?
The biggest one is definitely lack of focus.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I'm already doing it for the whole narrative, not just dialogue. English isn't my first language. lol Jokes aside, if it has to be done because it lends gravity to the scene, I will definitely do it if it's a language I'm comfortable writing snippets in. Otherwise, I'll find another way to handle said gravity.
First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter.
Favorite fic you've ever written?
I'd say my one-shot The Wings of Blue Butterflies. I'm rather fond of that one.
Tagging: @themaradwrites, @moustache-bonnet, @come-along-pond, @asirensrage, @darthnell, @foxesandmagic, @mariedemedicis, @bisexualterror, @anqelwiithhxrns, @arrthurpendragon, @mabonetsamhain, @bluebell-winter, @theblueelfling, @bobfloydsbabe, and anyone who wants to join!

Double Closed Starter: Neurotic to the Bone No Doubt About It (Owen/Wynn/Hale)
Owen chews his lip as he pushes into the band room.
Most everyone at school was at the festival over closer to the campus fairgrounds. Meaning he finally had a shot to kind of be himself.
Not transformed, that wasn’t a good idea and he knew it, he knew it wouldn’t be safe, not at all, but he slowly sets his bass guitar down on a chair and smiles to himself. Maybe a chance to just--
The door opens and his head whips around in surprise. Uh--
On one hand, at least it wasn’t the festival, but on the other hand, Wynn did not wanna be forced into spending quality time with the new friend a certain ghost insisted he needed...
Oh. Hell no. Wynn starts to try and pull away from Hale.

OC as PC part 3- Party Barks (one-off remarks made by one character)
Tagged by the absolutely lovely @wild-houseplant and it's been a ton of fun XD I'm so excited to share this.
This is a part three to this part two and this part one in which Astala is a companion instead of the Warden. Background information on the changes made to her backstory to keep things canon compliant can be found in part one. More under the cut!
Warden name: Astala Tabris
Part 1: Quest Dialogues:
Recruitments:
Encountering Morrigan:
None. Astala is not in the party at this point in the game.
Encountering Dog:
None. Astala is not in the party at this point in the game.
Recruiting Leliana:
"Well, at least our spiritual needs will be taken care of on this journey. Welcome, Leliana."
Recruiting Sten:
"Ah, finally, somebody with real military experience!"
Recruiting Wynne:
"Thank the Maker! No more lingering wounds and near-death experiences. I'm so happy you want to join the team, Wynne."
Recruiting Oghren:
"Given everything they've told us about those caves, having a guide is really the best thing we could've hoped for. And he volunteers!"
Recruiting Zevran:
"I sure hope that decision doesn't stab us in the back later. At any rate, it'll be nice to have another elf to talk to."
Recruiting Shale:
"Welcome, Shale. I am so glad that we don't have to fight you."
Quest Interactions:
Redcliffe:
Attempting to leave Redcliffe before the undead are killed:
"Hey, aren't we forgetting something? All those people in the village, perhaps? You're just gonna leave them there to die?"
Meeting Owen the blacksmith:
"Maker... I don't know if I'd be half as coherent as he if I'd lost my daughter."
Encountering Jowan:
"Maker's Breath! How has this guy survived down here?"
Nature of the Beast:
Speaking to the Grand Oak:
"The beauty of his poetry... / I have to say, I like this tree!"
Interacting with the Life Gem:
"Don't look at me. I may be an elf, but I know absolutely nothing about magic. Nor about the ancient elves. I don't even speak elvish. Ask somebody else."
Deciding to attack the Lady of the Forest (without Zathrian there):
"Listen, I know we don't have a lot of time if we want to save the hunters, but... it feels like we're overlooking something."
Deciding to attack the Lady of the Forest (with Zathrian there):
"Alright, seems like we're doing this."
Killing Zathrian after killing the Lady of the Forest:
"(angrily) What are you doing? Why did you do that? The problem had already been solved, why did you do that?"
Forcing Zathrian to break the curse:
"Welp, here we go."
Deciding to attack the Dalish elves:
"(outraged) You're- what!? You can't do that! You can't just wipe out a whole clan! There are sick people and children there, you've eaten their food and listened to their stories! What is wrong with you!?"
Broken Circle:
Speaking with Greagoir:
"The people of Ferelden? How exactly do you want to protect us if you can't even hold a bloody tower?"
And:
"You left kids in there!?"
Speaking with Wynne:
"You have been holding fort for such a long time. My most genuine respect."
Speaking with Cullen:
"How is it that we only see templars under the spell of demons and such?"
Wynne answers if she is in the party: "You have seen mages as well. Only that they have been transformed into abominations."
Astala: "... Oh."
Urn of Sacred Ashes:
Interacting with the Urn of Sacred Ashes:
"(quietly) Hail to the Maker Most High. Hail to Andraste, Prophet and liberator, Light of the world."
Speaking to Genitivi after the ashes are recovered:
"Take care of who you tell this to. You should make sure there are no dragons if you want pilgrims to come here though."
Paragon of Her Kind:
Speaking with Vartag Gavorn (Bhelen representative)
"So... we are supposed to go down into the hellhole out of which the darkspawn come to find someone who you haven't seen in two years? Am I understanding that right?"
Speaking with Steward Bandelor (Harrowmont representative)
"Y'know, the more missions you have for us, the more I think you just want to get rid of us. Sending us into the Deep Roads is a bit too convenient, isn't it?"
Anvil of the Void (advocate for keeping/destroying the Anvil, pick 1 she does not argue in favor or agains)
"I'm not sure what to say... I don't want people getting enslaved and transformed against their will. But... if Orzammar falls... the darkspawn will swallow everything in the end. I don't know. I'm sorry."
Anvil of the Void (agree with keeping/destroying the Anvil, pick 1 she does not argue in favor or agains)
"I never want to take a world-rattling dedision like this ever again. Let's finish this and get out of here."
Landsmeet:
Being asked to duel Loghain:
"The shem who set slavers loose among my people? Consider it done."
Part 2: Ambient:
Lothering:
In sight of the bridge in the middle of the village:
"Poor child. Has he lost his family? Can we do something?"
Near the Chantry board outside of the Chantry:
"I once asked a Chanter if they ever got a sore throat. He said: 'Let my cries touch their hearts / Let mine be the last sacrifice.' So I guess they do."
Inside the Chantry, near the statue of Andraste:
"Look. At least the flame still burns."
Approaching the area transition:
"Sure hope these people can get out of here before the horde arrives..."
Redcliffe:
At the cliff’s edge near the mill:
"Look at the view up here! Do you think you could see Edgehall on a clear day?"
Stepping out of the Chantry:
"What a depressing situation... Well, maybe we can do some good here, hm?"
Leaving the secret passage:
"Brrr! That was just dark, damp and nasty."
Circle of Magi - Kinloch Hold:
Entering Calenhad Docks:
"Ah yes, I'd missed being near water. It's not the Amaranthine Ocean, but it's nice nonetheless."
At Lake Calenhad Docks, Tower visible in the distance:
"It looks so quiet... You'd think you'd notice if they were having trouble."
After speaking to Greagoir, but before the door to enter the tower:
"We used to tell each other scary stories about demons and stuff at the alienage. Guess we're about to find out what the real thing is like, huh?"
Before speaking to Owain:
"(whispers) Quiet! There's someone here."
Entering Irving’s Study (no hostiles):
"Books, scrolls, tablets... I had a friend in Denerim who'd have a field day in here."
Entering level 3 (Great Hall):
"Maker's Breath, this place is huge!"
Entering level 4 of the Tower and seeing the destruction and corruption inside:
"Oh... Oh, this is horrible."
Level 4, seeing Cullen up ahead, trapped in the spirit prison:
"Huh... Did he make that barrier? Why have they left him alive?"
In the Fade:
"Using my dead mother to imprison me is cheap, demon. You're gonna be sorry for that."
Death of Shah Wyrd:
"Why do we keep messing with weird stuff?"
Found 4/6 Watchguard of the Reaching Codices:
"This is... odd."
Found 6/6 Watchguard of the Reaching Codices:
"Okay, we found them all! What happens now?"
Brecilian Forest:
Inside the Dalish camp:
"(in quiet awe) I... never thought I'd see one of these camps."
By the halla pen:
"Are those halla? Oh, they are beautiful!"
Upon entering the West Brecilian Forest:
"This is easily the most forest-y forest I've seen in my life."
East Brecilian, passing through the ruined arch:
"Crumbling walls, archways leading nowhere... I wonder what this place might've looked like when people lived here."
East Brecilian, approaching the ruins:
"There's something ahead. Best be careful."
Ruins, when the party gets near the blocked passage in the main hall:
"Huh. We're not welcome here, I see."
First floor of the ruins:
"Andraste's flaming toes! Look at this place!"
Approaching the dragon:
"... Was that something skittering around?"
Hearing growling at the lowest floor:
"Good news! I think we found them."
Orzammar:
Frostback Mountain Pass, entering the surface camp:
"Snow as far as the eye can see. Y'know, I'd rather not camp here."
Entering the Hall of Heroes, at the bottom of the steps:
"Warden, what do you think? Will they make a statue in your honor someday?"
After entering Orzammar, just after the guards fight:
"Charming."
Before the exit that leads into the Deep Roads:
"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
Outside Tapster’s Tavern:
"Ooooh, let's try some dwarven ale! I wanna see how strong it is."
Inside Tapster’s Tavern:
"Now would you look at that! This looks exactly like the place I worked at."
Inside the Proving arena:
"I know we have important stuff to do, but this sounds fun, doesn't it?"
Upon arriving in Dust Town:
"Wow. Compared to this, the Alienage is the Denerim palace."
Upon entering the Diamond Quarter:
"The dust the wind carries over from Dust Town doesn't seem to bother them, I see."
Diamond Quarter, outside the Palace:
"Yup. A big-ass building for the very important lords and ladies."
Diamond Quarter, overlooking Orzammar:
"I wonder... How much would falling into lava hurt?"
The Deep Roads:
Upon arriving in the Deep Roads:
"Here we are. Doesn't seem so bad, does it?"
Anywhere inside Ortan Thaig:
"I take back what I said. It's bad."
Upon reaching Branka’s camp:
"Finally, we found them! Where are they?"
Upon arriving at the Dead Trenches:
"It stinks. It stinks of darkspawn and I don't like it."
Dead Trenches, entering the shrine to the Legion of the Dead:
"They should make statues for them as well. Maker, I wish I knew a dwarven prayer."
Deep Roads, before meeting Hespith (start hearing her poem):
"Did... did you hear that? I don't like that."
Deep Roads, after Hespith runs off:
"(whispers) Maker keep us, Maker protect us."
Deep Roads, before the broodmother:
"I don't want to go in there."
Deep Roads, after the broodmother:
"Let's leave this place. Please."
After meeting Branka, in the middle of her monologue:
"She talks and talks. The only thing I hear is the broodmother that she helped create."
Anvil of the Void:
"Even here it smells of darkspawn. Or maybe it's us."
Denerim:
Upon entering Denerim Market Square, near the big market tent:
"There was a fruit vendor here that always let me take a piece of fruit home. I don't see him anywhere. I hope he's doing well."
Outside the Wonders of Thedas:
"I snuck in once on a dare. It kind of disappoints."
In the back of the Wonders of Thedas:
"Oh look, there is something interesting here!"
Entering the Gnawed Noble Tavern:
"(sarcastic) Ah, yes. I've missed walking into a place and knowing immediately that I'm not welcome."
Arl Eamon’s estate, near the fountain in the courtyard:
"Seriously, what is it with important people and big buildings?"
In the Alienage, just inside the gates:
"(whistful) Home! It's been so long..."
In the Alienage, approaching the vhenadahl:
"It's still standing! What a relief. And it's looking healthy, too!"
In the abandoned orphanage (Alienage):
"Oh no. No, no, no, what did they do here!?"
Inside the Pearl:
"Strange... I had several neighbours who worked here. Where are they?"
Bonus! After having heard (“Dwarven crafts! Fiiiine dwarven crafts!” for the fourth time):
"You gotta give it to him, the man's got endurance."
Haven/Ruined Temple:
Upon entering Haven:
"(sneezes) Of course Genitivi had to be in the coldest place in all of Ferelden."
In Haven, hearing the singing coming from the Chantry:
"I don't recognise that hymn."
In the entry to the Ruined Temple:
"(with fake cheerfulness) Oh wonderful! Ice! Let's go freeze to death!"
Ruined Temple, in the library:
"You can't even read them! They're frozen shut."
Ruined Temple, near the statue of Maferath:
"Never liked the guy. Who even betrays their wife because their ego got a bit bruised? I wonder why Andraste married him in the first place."
Ruined Temple, near the statue of Hessarian:
"See, this guy I can respect. He sw the horror of his own actions. It was too late, but it was a step in the right direction!"
The Gauntlet, upon seeing the Guardian:
"Another cultist? No... he looks kinda different."
The Gauntlet, after defeating their mirror image:
"So, if I managed to beat myself up... am I weak or am I strong?"
The Gauntlet, at the Puzzle Bridge:
"I'd advise against standing on the tiles, but if you absolutely have to, tie a rope around your waist. That way we can pull you up if you fall."
Upon reaching the Ashes:
"This is it? Is that... her? It- Those are her actual remains!"
Bonus! Upon seeing the high dragon:
"I know I was complaining of the cold, but I'd take that a million times over being roasted alive."
Honnleath:
Upon entering the village:
"See those poor sods hanging? How did they end up there?"
Inside Wilhelm’s dungeon:
"I would like a word with this mage. I can't even imagine how he thought having a dungeon was a good idea when he had a child running around!"
Soldier’s Peak:
Upon reaching Soldier’s Peak:
"We seem to have a tendency to end up in places with snow. Why haven't we bought winter clothes and stuff yet?"
After encountering Sophia Dryden:
"Ugh! I hope you're not thinking about taking that armor with you, Warden."
Encountering Avernus:
"I don't like this guy."
Final Battle:
At the Denerim gates:
"This is it. Good luck, all of you! It's been an honor."
Encountering the ogres:
"Maker's fucking Breath!"
Reaching the Alienage:
"Not my family you bastards!"
Upon reaching the Archdemon:
"Maker keep and protect us! I'm right behind you, Warden."
Bonus:
Approaching the starmetal:
"Metal from a star? ... Would you need a star's heat to work with it?"
Encountering Old Tegrin (first time):
"I hope he has some healing potions."
When the dog pees on something (activating Mabari Dominance):
"Uh... Warden? Your dog is doing... something."
---
This was a ton of fun, like the other two XD Again, thank you so much @wild-houseplant for tagging me. I'll go ahead and tag you right back, as well as @scribbledquillz @yukichouji @the-iron-lion @arainayeet and @siriskulksnerding (if you'd like to do this for Vanessa ^^). This story probably won't actually get finished, so feel free to ignore if you have bigger priorities, I'm mostly just curious - I have a character who's a child soldier (around 12 years old) in organization A, and is captured/rescued by organization B. Org B makes a genuine attempt to help the kid recover both physically and mentally, but also presses them for information about org A. [1/3]
The character decides not to tell them anything (mostly out of fear for their younger sibling, who's still in org A's custody and would probably end up fighting if org B attacked), but they aren't sure what information is important or sensitive, so they resolve to interact with org B as little as possible to avoid accidentally telling them something important. [2/3] So my question is - is it possible for someone to isolate themself to the point where they start showing symptoms of solitary confinement, by refusing to respond to people who are actively trying to interact with them? Do you think someone in this situation would latch onto anyone outside of org B (or claiming to be) as a relatively "safe" person to talk to? (Thank you for everything you do, I hope you're feeling better!) [3/3]
-
Ah the ‘how the hell will I ever finish this thing’ Work In Progress. Writer’s mood number 3. We’ve all been there. (Mine currently include two original fantasy series and a Durarara!!! fanfic. Because lockdown resulted in an anime binge, I have no regrets.)
My instinct is ‘yes’ this is possible but I think it’s a lot less likely in a twelve year old child then an adult.
We are capable of depriving ourselves of things we need to survive. People have/do starve themselves. We are capable of hurting ourselves in a lot of ways.
However I question whether a twelve year old would be capable of consistently depriving themselves over a prolonged period.
The comparison I’m drawing from here is food and the diet industry. My understanding is that most children of this sort of age group can’t consistently stick to this kind of self deprivation over a prolonged period. Unless there are other, outside factors at play.
What I’m getting at here is that I think it’s a lot more likely a child would hold themselves apart and interact less, without it getting to the point of being like solitary confinement. I think that over days and weeks a child would be less capable of turning their backs on someone who is trying to talk them and staying consistently silent.
Children are geared for survival and that means forming strong social bonds with adults.
I guess what I’m asking is: given that solitary confinement has a much larger effect on children then adults (and that the effect might get bigger the younger the children are) is there a narrative benefit to this being severe enough to be solitary confinement? Do you get a better story by having the character struggle so much and do themselves so much lasting harm?
Because in the situation you’ve outlined there is a lot of emotional potential in having the character interact a little bit with organisation B.
They’re bored and they’re scared and they’re lonely and this lady brought a radio in. So they end up talking for three hours about the cricket and then the child spends the rest of the day panicked and guilty because what if there was something important in what they said?
They think they only talked about the cricket and the cricket isn’t important surely- Unless org B doesn’t know that org A likes cricket. Unless there’s some way they can use the cricket radio channel to track every down. Unless they said something important and they forgot about it. Unless-
You get the idea.
May be they decide the best thing is to not talk but they end up interacting with people anyway. The nice man brings in a simple game like snakes and ladders and they play for ages and he talks and the child keeps biting their lip to not respond. They laugh at a joke he makes and feel bad about it for weeks.
Because they’re not supposed to like these people. Why is it so hard for them to just do the ‘right thing’? Are they a bad person? Are they weak? Are they a coward? Why is niceness so hard to combat?
And all of that could easily lead in to this character latching on to someone who is ‘safe’, who is an outsider to this conflict.
Then it becomes about the child having an avenue for interaction that doesn’t have this backlash of fear and guilt and self doubt afterwards.
Personally can see a lot more emotional mileage in a story that has the child interact then one that doesn’t. Because strained, costly interaction is generally more interesting to readers then a lack of interaction. It also gives you more chances to build up things about all of the characters while isolation puts all the focus on the child.
And watching mental health problems develop isn’t always a good read.
However that’s very much a personal writing choice. I don’t think there’s any unfortunate implications in you choosing to have this child character self isolate instead.
Just be aware that everything I say about solitary confinement is based on adults or older children (generally 16-18). We think that younger children would be even more severely effected. So the ‘safe’ time frame could easily shrink from a week to a few days and the amount of healthy interaction needed daily could be much higher then two hours.
Wrapping up I think you might actually get a lot from a fictional book I’m quite fond of.
The Lives of Christopher Chant by Diana Wynne Jones is one of the best portrayals of grooming in children’s fiction I’ve ever seen. The villain goes out of his way to make himself the most important person in Christopher’s world and then systematically exploits Christopher’s magical talents. During the course of the story Christopher is rescued. And he sees his rescuers as the enemy, holding himself apart from them for a significant portion of the story. Because it takes him time to realise and accept that he was exploited.
Fiction may not be a good source of information but looking at good fictional portrayals can be an excellent source of inspiration and a decent way to learn how to approach complex topics in stories.
I hope that helps. :)

Title: Un-haunted Mansion
Muse: Ziva
Ziva stuck close to Wynn, keeping her head down. She didn't know how she felt about this. But she'd deal with whatever was coming, because she'd regrettably enjoyed the damned movie as a child.
But then it was like she stepped over a distinct line in the sand. Ziva relaxed, looking up a bit, blinking. "... huh..."
@nxttheendxfthestxry
Wynn was kind of questioning his best friend’s sanity, he’s not going to lie about that. She already saw ghosts. Going on the ride declared Haunted in the name? Really?
But he frowns when she looks up, relaxes, and slowly looks over at her. “Huh?”

Thank you for the ask Viking! 💖💖💖
1. What is your character's favourite colour?
White. Many people think Wynne's favourite colour is black or purple due to her edgyness, but no. She likes the purity of the colour white and loves how it fits with every colour and contrasts beautifully with black.
4. What kind of clothing does your character wear?
It's usually dark goth fashion when in usual days and usual mood. A corset is a must during work days. She really likes wearing lolita, or skirts in general, with the right amount of frill and length. But when she is in a very relaxing mood, she switches to pastel cottagecore dresses, and say bye bye to stiff corsets. She has two sides of fashion sense which are like sun and moon, you know. But it looks pretty on her anyway.
25. What inspired you to create them / how did you create them? Were they originally a fancharacter? What was their personality / design like when you first made them?
When the first time I played the Arcana (which should be like, 3-4 years ago), I was in my goth phase, so of course I had wanted a goth character with the Main Six and others to interact and romance. My major inspiration was Raven from Teen Titans because half-demon girl with daddy issues oooooh~💜🖤
When I make characters, I first draft a good frame of them in my mind. Like, how should they look like, what they should usually wear, what are their likes and dislikes, powers and weaknesses. And then at last, I give them a name. A meaningful name which would completely sum up the character. And that's exactly how Wynne came.
And yeah! She is a fan character, but I am working on making her a multi-fandom one. For example, Wynne in Genshin Impact???? Sumeru girl??? Cryo Archon wHAT?!!
And the first time I made Wynne, she was soooooooo edgy. Even edgier than the present Wynne. At least we know Wynne does have her smiling moments, right? Well the prototype Wynne didn't smile at all. Yeah. Completely emotionless, manipulates all the elements (water, earth, fire, air) who always wears a black cloak and, just be edgy in Asra's shop. Oh! And prototype Wynne used to have blonde hair and blue eyes. Heck, her name back then was not even Wynne. It was Anaïs, and I had selected it just because it sounded cool lol. I was so stupid back then, I'm glad Wynne is what she is right now.
50. If your character was presented with imminent and unavoidable death/fatality, how would they react? Would they try to avoid death anyways? Would they try to make their last days count?
Wynne won't waste her energy to try and avoid death. If it has finally come to her door to claim her soul for real, she would obligingly give it up. So she would definitely make her last days count. Say goodbye to her family and friends, her final apologies to everyone whom she had wronged, and of course, have a last good cup of steaming tea before kissing death and succumbing into its embrace, colder than ice. A smirk was always there on her lips, until the lustre in her golden eyes finally rusted away.

Triple Closed Starter: Showtime (Jini/Owen/Wynn/Hale)
Of course, a crash-course rapidfire runthrough only gets them so far, but... Jini’s actually feeling really confident in what was happening here.
She glances at the screen set up for her to see the stage and crowd gathering outside from where she is. The stage dark, the space darkening completely as they get to that time.
Dark night, all the lights out. Well, shoutout to that, she supposed.
This was gonna be fun. She looks up as the boys head onstage under the cover of darkness.
And then a familiar-to-her opening starts, and she chews her lip.

Closed Starter: A Festival of Fantasy (Lexa/Wynn/Kalea/Milo)
Lexa doesn’t look like she’s having a good time, despite the ears Genevieve had excitedly plopped on her head that she’d hoped would at least make it look like she wanted to be on this trip.
She keeps her nose in her phone, somehow still managing to keep up with Milo, Kalea, Wynn, and the cast member who was bringing them up to the front edge of the parade line for whatever reason right at the end of the route.
Wynn grumbles to himself. Again, he reminds himself, these, according to that one girl who’d just been going on and on about the theme parks he’d never caught the name of that apparently went to AP with them, “magical moments” weren’t for them at this point, it was definitely about the cast members and creating a crazy memory for them.
Still, he doesn’t have to like it, as they get lined up at the front together, leaning against Milo and resting his head on his shoulder with a small huff.

Closed Starter: Can’t Wait to Meet Everyone (Maelona/Wynn/Eira/Milo/Prue/Ziva)
“Excuse me, pardon me, I don’t mean to interrupt,” a cast member remarks, and Wynn closes his eyes to himself as the three turn around.
...why were Maelona and Eira there?
...no, god, please--
“Sorry, it’s just that these ladies pointed you out as the son of Anna and Kristoff from Auradon, correct?”
Wynn glances to Ziva and Milo and sighs to himself, smiling and nodding. “That’s me.”
“I have a few friends who were hoping to meet you and your family, I was wondering if you’d be willing to join us?”
...
Fuck... Wynn closes his eyes and takes a breath before looking back to the cast member and nodding with a smile. “Sounds fantastic, lead the way.” It sounds pained just trying to say it, and when the cast member turns away, he scowls and flips off his sister and cousin before they follow.

Double Open Starter: We’ll Never Fall if We Walk Hand in Hand (Wynn / Maelona)
Wynn frowns, double checking that his phone had linked to the speaker. Nodding to himself, he hits play on his song, getting an eight count before he starts tapping along, sticking to the beat for the verse.
And of course he’s singing along, it’s Carrie fucking Underwood.
“I should’ve known by the way you passed me by, There was somethin’ in your eyes, and it wasn’t right– I should’ve walked, but I never had a chance, Everything got out of hand and I let it slide… Now I only have myself to blame, For fallin’ for your stupid games I wish my life could be the way it was before I saw your face!”
And then he lets himself go a little more off with the chorus, playing with his own sound based on the song, having fun riffing off to accent the chorus–
“You stole my happy, you made me cry– Took the lonely and took me for a ride, And I wanna uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-undo it! You had my heart, now, I want it back– I’m startin’ to see everything you lack! Boy, you blew it, you put me through it– I wanna uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-undo it!”
He continues riffing without singing through the “na, na, na na na-na” bit with a smile on his face, glancing up when the door to the band room opens though he never misses a beat.
Maelona looks at him, cocking her head. He cocks his head back as he continues to play, then jerks his head over, inviting her closer. She approaches slowly and he continues singing along.
“Now your photos don’t have a picture frame, And I never say your name–”
And Maelona joins him, “–and I never will!”
Wynn manages a weak smile at her as they’re both singing now.
“And all your things, well, I threw ‘em in the trash And I’m not even sad! Now you only have yourself to blame, For playin’ all those stupid games, You’re always gonna be the same– Oh, no, you’ll never change!”
And as he picks back up on his riffing from before, Maelona spins and tosses her hair with the chorus.
“You stole my happy, you made me cry– Took the lonely and took me for a ride, And I wanna uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-undo it! You had my heart, now, I want it back– I’m startin’ to see everything you lack! Boy, you blew it, you put me through it–”
Maelona leans over the drums in his face, wrinkling her nose at him, and he does it back.
“I wanna uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-undo it!”
And while Maelona continues singing, Wynn shuts up to focus more on his riff, smiling and watching his sister sort of sway with the beat.
“You want my future, you can’t have it–” they both sing, shaking their heads in perfect sync. “I’m still trying to erase you from my past– I need you gone so fast! You stole my happy, you made me cry– Took the lonely and took me for a ride, And I wanna uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-undo it!” Wynn’s riff picks back up. “You had my heart, now I want it back– I’m startin’ to see everything you lack! Boy, you blew it, you put me through it– I wanna uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-undo it!–”
And while Maelona continues again on the “na na” part, Wynn picks up the outro.
“You stole my happy, you made me cry– Took the lonely and took me for a ride– Boy, you blew it, you put me through it–”
And Maelona joins him on the last line.
“I wanna uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-undo it!”
As the song ends, Wynn slowly reaches up and pauses his music, smiling a bit, clearing his throat. Maelona slowly turns back to him, the smile, the laugh still on her face… but it starts to slip, not out of sadness, but out of concern, as she looks at him. “I, uh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean–”
“No, no,” he holds up a hand, biting his lip hesitantly and clearing his throat. “Hi, Maelona.”
“…hi, Wynn,” she answers, biting her lip as well.
The twins both look over when the door opens again and Wynn clears his throat, looking down blankly at his phone, and Maelona turns to properly face the new arrival. “Hi!”
(Song: “Undo It”, Carrie Underwood)
