Dominic fancied himself to be somewhat of a heavy sleeper. But, even though the man had the somewhat peculiar tendency to hibernate whenever he slept and frequently, especially in his youth, had to be physically dragged out of bed, he would never have slept through something like this. The twitching, jerking, and trembling made him instantly wake up, blinking and asking after,

“Will?” out of habit, before waking up more properly and glancing over to his side.

“Shit. Aiden?”

Seeing him like this made his heart clench; he hated to see anybody in pain, especially in their sleep, and especially when it was his boyfriend.

He gently reached down, caressing the other’s cheek in the hopes of waking him. If it really was his brother like his sleep addled mind had previously thought, he would have had no qualms in shaking him awake. But he wasn’t really used to Aiden’s dreams yet, and for all he knew, the abrupt motion might make them worse.

“Hey,” he coaxed, in a soothing, hushed tone, fitting for a lullaby, “hey, Aiden, babe, I’m right here. Right here, Aid. Listen to my voice. Come back to me, love. You’re dreaming.”

He stiffened a bit at the sudden jerk from the man, but relaxed as he seemed to be fully awake. He let his hand drop from Aiden’s cheek, sliding it down and then winding an arm across the span of his shoulders, rubbing soothing circles into his back, drawing him close.

Dominic wound his arms properly around Aiden once his face buried into his chest, attempting to shield him from the ills and evils of the world. He cupped the back of Aiden’s head, toying with his boyfriend’s hair while murmuring,

“Don’t be sorry,” maintaining the same voice as earlier, and dropping a kiss into the dark locks. “It’s what I’m here for, okay? Every night or no, I’ll be here for you.”
