today’s reminder: your needs are important. today’s question: what’s your favorite genre of movie, tv show, or video game and why?
song of the day: to you - seventeen
sending lots of love,

AAAAAA such a hard question
movie? probably action films or horror films. i really like v for vendetta <3 growing up, my mom and i liked to watch all kinds of stuff together, and a couple times i caught pretty graphic or violent movies and she kinda just gave up and let me watch them. if i had nightmares or didn't like it, i had the choice to either go play with toys or to (if my mom wasn't sucked into it) ask her to change the channel or dvd or vcr tape. eventually i liked action movies a lot because i find them to have really good plot and a lot of them are higher production. i never really liked chick flicks or anything super super dramatic or "girly". even when i still identified as cisgender, i was very much so a tomboy. v for vendetta just kinda holds a special place in my heart, and honestly if you can handle some more intense themes (deals a LOT with government and corruption and stuff) i highly recommend it. it's one hell of a movie!! i love it.
tv show, i really like animated things or comedy. a few examples of the kinds of stuff i watch religiously would probably be spongebob, the golden girls, and literally anything on the bon appetit channel (sometimes i watch cooking shows too). as far as the reasoning for this, i always grew up watching cartoons with my mom (i don't have a dad, i never have). they were often a big comfort for me and whenever i was bored or something, we'd sit and watch them together or play together or play games. it was always a really good time, and to this day, sometimes i'll put on kids cartoons and watch them with my mom because it gives us both a lot of nostalgia and we just make a lot of jokes about being adults and still liking some of them. with the golden girls, i started watching that show a long time ago. when i would wake up for school, mom would watch the golden girls while i woke up and got ready, and while i ate and waited for the bus, we'd watch my stuff. i often woke up earlier to watch it because it was funny and it just became another bonding thing for us. plus it's a good show. as far as cooking shows, again, it has to do with bonding with my mom. we used to watch all kinds of stuff together and cooking shows and mystery shows like csi and bones and stuff are my guilty pleasures :)
video game? it's REALLY dependent on a lot of factors. if i don't like the graphics of something or it gives me eye strain or makes my brain feel weird (i'm sensitive to viewing some things for whatever reason, sometimes i get headaches) i'm not playing it. also the plot has to be good. i generally don't go for games with a lot of QTEs, but i really like dark pictures anthology games (a little hope, man of meddan, house of ashes) and detroit: become human. i really like choice based games (like both of those i just mentioned and also life is strange) and things with really solid plot and good graphics and audio. i also really like rpgs and as far as games i personally have and play (i can't afford games rn sadly, and even if i could my laptop doesn't have the graphics and processors to run them, so i play a lot of mobile games) i like genshin impact, sky: children of light, minecraft, and a LOT of rhythm games. i have pretty much every dalcomsoft games as well as rhythm hive and a game called beatstar. rhythm games really help my adhd and keep me stimulated !! if it wasn't obvious, i like games i can get sucked into.
also svt are my ults (along with tbz) so THANK YOU EEEE
