Me after figuring out how to install mods so I can customize my companions, get over a hundred and fifty new hairstyles, new face presets, see what dialogue options will do to approval ratings, remove the party limit, and know when I should long rest for story events:

#it took me so long to decide to try mods since i've never ever modded anything before#and i try to maintain sanctity as best as i can#but i've already beaten the game#i'm allowed to let loose#it's also just very rewarding on my end seeing the mods work since it proves to myself that i'm good with technology#like you see that? all that fun stuff in the game? i did that#also goddammit why is shadowheart so goddamn adorable#fishgills speaks#fishgills plays bg3#bg3#baldur's gate 3#and god knows when patch 7 releases all the mods are gonna crash and burn#i'll get my evil epilogues but at what cost

lol, I see someone got to reasons wretched and divine before me!! 🐢😂 (it sounds exactly what I'd like to read btw!) I was also very intrigued by the Hunger Games fic 👀😁
I feel so bad lol! Everyone is interested in my thg fic, and I've barely begun planning it!
One thing I'll say about it is that I hope to show Katniss healing along with the earth around her. I've stumbled on a few fics about gardening for The Hunger Games since coming up with the initial post, including this gorgeous one that I'll always shill for, but something that means a lot to me as a gardener, that I don't think anyone else is insane enough to devote this much mental energy to in fic planning is, well, soil quality. When I look at Victors' Village both in the books and in the movies, I see meticulous landscaping made to look nice to the naked eye, but like all things evil, it's hiding the effects of what it cost underneath. I'm telling you, those plants have been engineered and sterilized within an inch of their lives and that dirt is gross, construction fill dirt that hasn't had a chance to recover in the years since the Village was built, because the Capitol has probably been spraying it with the worst chemicals you can think of.
I think, at the end of Mockingjay, Katniss is still so, so raw and ripped open, but I also believe in her capacity to get to a point where she's able to move forward. The Katniss of the epilogue is still dealing with the effects of her traumatic childhood and teenage years, but she's so much more at peace than the Katniss who watches Peeta plant the primroses. Maybe she and the dirt can heal together.
