aesthetics: ASHER DENT & AVA BARTON.

asher dent is anything but romantic, recent events with bea zsasz had proven that much. it would therefore me wrong to pressure that the letters he had given to ava barton for her birthday contained poems or praise. that wasn’t the two of them. they were simply the communication he had missed in the time they had spent apart. after all no matter how long the two of them might spend apart physically, ava was still there beside him in his heart or his mind it didn’t matter.

LETTER ONE:

the first envelope in the box is the most damaged, it’s been there the longest, there’s more pain in it’s contents, less care then what would follow after it. the edges of the letter are dog eared or crumpled. it’s written on computer paper of all things, it’s just what ash happened to have on hand at the time. the date in the top right hand corner shows it’s from july 2017.

dear barton, 

i really don’t know why i’m doing this. the last time i was writing something like this it was in a very different location to a very different person still i cant bare the thought of you over there alone without any of the five of us to keep you safe. you’re going to have to do it yourself you hear me. you are the only titan out there i’m sure it’s going to be different. you’ll be fine i know it, it’s  you after all. a couple of jokes with the new squad and you’ll be set, and  honestly they will be so lucky to have you. 

just, don’t let them have too much of you alright. god i sound stupid, and i  sound selfish. i just need you to be able to come home safe. you’re all i’ve  got now, you know that, i don’t know why i’m repeating myself. besides i’m sure if lars knew that he’d take it upon himself to be rather offended, he’d sulk in that manor of his you know and then we wouldn’t hear the end of it  for days after wards. i shouldn’t say that he means well, it’s strange living  with him again after everything, but then that’s typical lars, willing to be  there to clean up my messes. he’s a bit like you that way, but then he  hasn’t seen the things we have. lucky him really.

look i’ve gotten really off track here, i’m not even sure what my point is maybe it was something soppy like to remind you that there’s a home  people here waiting for you the moment you get back, maybe it was just  in the rather vain hope that hearing from me might be able to bring you some comfort whilst you’re over there in hell. is that even the case for us anymore? i don’t know i’ve made such a mess ava, sometimes i think it’s  better that your there away from me, where this stupid bad luck of mine  can’t catch up to you.

wow this has gotten long already, guess i really did have stuff to say huh? i don’t know if i’m going to actually send this to you, i don’t even know where to send it to, but then maybe that’s for the best, we’re supposed to be moving forward right? that’s what you said.
