Songs for The Silver Chronicles, Life, Despair & Monsters and Wings And Horns respectively. You can find the songs below the cut:
Elsa Omar is Silva's younger sister, they both managed to escape to America together along with an infant Persephone, where Elsa would have quite the reputation in Hope County, but they'd have around two or three years of peace before Elsa perishes in an accident. Ezekiel is Thomas Rush's future Captain in Security in Old Dusk, and has a rebel attitude towards authority he does not respect. However, back on the Archipiélagos, Elsa was the damsel-in-relative-distress lying and manipulating her piece of shit father as she shared info with the local rebellion about the Congregation's patrols and whatnot, while Ezekiel was an orphaned Tumultite street kid who looked up to the likes of Alvarich and Paul, despite being very anti-authoritarian in general. When these two first met... they hated each other. But hate turned to grudging respect. Respect turned to horrified crushing. Crush turned into deflecting by flirting. And that annoyed everyone else. Even 26 years after he last saw her alive, Ezekiel still yearns for his star-crossed love. And I think this song definitely describes how much their connection may as well have been fated, even if it was for a short time.
youtube
"I don't mean to be so uptight But my heart's been hurt a couple times By a couple guys that didn't treat me right I ain't gonna lie, ain't gonna lie 'Cause I'm tired of the fake love, show me what you're made of Boy, make me believe." "Whoa, hold up, girl, don't you know you're beautiful? And it's easy to see."
"If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be Baby, just let it be If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be Baby, just let it be So won't you ride with me, ride with me? See where this thing goes If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be Baby if it's meant to be
So come on, ride with me, ride with me See where this thing goes So come on, ride with me, ride with me Baby if it's meant to be."
"Maybe we do." "Maybe we don't." "Maybe we will Maybe we won't.
But if it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be Baby, just let it be ("Sing it baby")* If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be ("Come on") Baby, just let it be." ("Let's go!")
[*Changed the word to "baby" instead of leaving it as "Bebe"]
Cecil Royce is the daughter of Daemon Targaryen and Rhea Royce, conceived after a drunk night of hate sex. Cecil, unlike her cousins, does not hold any admiration towards her father. Throughout The Thorned Crown Of Iron Thrones, Cecil is particularly hostile towards Daemon, and pretty much rejects the Targaryen name and practices in favour of her mother's. Though after the "accidental" death of her mother, she is put underneath Daemon's care... and he honestly tries his best. Through many trials, and many errors, as well as very slow-paced bonding experiences and the apparent mutual agreement that Rhaenyra should be heir to the Iron Throne, they manage to get along, and find in themselves an actual father-daughter bond suited for two rogue Targaryens. Until of course Cecil learns from him that he murdered her mother... and unlike Daemon, Cecil actually loved and looked up to Rhea. A bond fractures and there's just this uneasiness between them that stays long after the first fic ends and the second fic begins. How does "Summertime Sadness" fit into all of this? While the song itself is a yearning for the loss of a lover, here the context is Cecil's conflicted grief and yearning after the loss of Daemon, when he buys her time to fight the Court King, where he is knowingly severely outmatched and slain in the encounter. Despite the fractures in their relationship, Cecil can't really get over the fact that, while Daemon was no where close to perfect, he was her father, and the bond they had combined with the sacrifice he made is something can't help but grieve over.
youtube
"Oh, my God, I feel it in the air Telephone wires above are sizzlin' like a snare Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere Nothin' scares me anymore (One, two, three, four)
Kiss me hard before you go Summertime sadness I just wanted you to know That, baby, you the best
I got that summertime, summertime sadness Su-su-summertime, summertime sadness Got that summertime, summertime sadness Oh, oh-oh, oh
Think I'll miss you forever Like the stars miss the sun in the mornin' sky Later's better than never Even if you're gone, I'm gonna drive, drive, drive
I got that summertime, summertime sadness Su-su-summertime, summertime sadness Got that summertime, summertime sadness Oh, oh-oh, oh."
Wouldn't It Be Nice if Metatron and Xiang could just sit down and get along for a few moments while looking past their species prejudices and work on agreeing that something needs to be done about the Soulmate System, because it's definitely malfunctioning? Said by Azriel and Jezebel as they "fight" while their caretakers are getting deep into that steel on steel, sword on bullet action.
youtube
"Wouldn't it be nice if we were older? Then we wouldn't have to wait so long And wouldn't it be nice to live together In the kind of world where we belong?
You know it's gonna make it that much better When we can say goodnight and stay together
Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up In the morning when the day is new? After having spent the day together Hold each other close the whole night through
But happy times together we've been spending I wish that every kiss was never ending Oh, wouldn't it be nice
Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true And, baby, then there wouldn't be a single thing we couldn't do Oh, we could be married (Oh, we could be married) And then we'd be happy (And then we'd be happy) Oh, wouldn't it be nice
You know it seems the more we talk about it It only makes it worse to live without it But let's talk about it Oh, wouldn't it be nice?
Goodnight, oh baby Sleep tight, oh baby Goodnight, oh baby Sleep tight, oh baby Goodnight, oh baby Sleep tight, oh baby!"

Rhaenys, please 😊
Rhaenys:
favorite thing about them
The contrasts. How contained she can be when she feels she needs to be and how clearly unrestrained she can be when she has the freedom to be so. The constant presence of knowing what could have been/what she might want vs. what is/what she should be doing, and seeing how she balances and weighs those decisions.
least favorite thing about them
She should be allowed to hit more people. And say 'fuck'. I think she's a character that would really benefit from being allowed to just call people idiots to their faces more often. More seriously, I don't love how far the show pushed her into being the wise, serene, unaffected mentor type as often as it did.
favorite line
"Would that you were the king."
brOTP
Rhea Royce.
OTP
Corlys. I'm a simple person sometimes.
nOTP
Daemon. Not even that I can't see it or see why others would like it. I just like them snarking at each other and butting heads too much to want them as a couple. Let them be the worlds pettiest de-facto siblings who love and hate each other in equal measure and I'll be a happy camper.
random headcanon
Her regular flights/closeness with Meleys serve dual function. Sure it's good to stay in the habit/she does like her dragon obviously and the reminder of her own standing and what power she is allowed to keep, but it's also an explicit means of liberation. It doesn't matter if you're the once crown princess and your cousin who did become king seems to respect you decently enough and your husband seems fairly permissive with you in terms of what married women actually get away with in setting. She's a fantasy medieval princess, she literally cannot take swings at the people (particularly given at least some of those people are in the handful that outrank her) who take the future she was raised for away from her or curse them out or actively try and buck the constraints being imposed on her. We have canonical depictions of what happens to women in similar positions who try, and pretty much across the board they end up dead or exiled. But if you're high enough up and nobody else is flying in that area in the moment, you can scream about it as much as you like, or fly a bit recklessly like you're pretending you're about to run off to the other side of the world even though you know deep down you won't. She needs that, more than she would ever admit when she's back on the ground and expected to keep up appearances.
unpopular opinion
I don't actually think her reaction to Alyn in the show, assuming that as the show depicts she's been aware of the Hull boys for years at this point and has had time to make peace with his existence even if it's always been at arms length before, is that unreasonable/necessarily out of character for her at that point in time.
song i associate with them
Oldest Daughter by The Wonder Years
Alcoholiday by Teenage Fanclub
favorite picture of them
Pretty much any of the ones where she looks fantastically petty/like she's sitting on a fantastically cutting one liner that she knows she can't say.
Character Game for anyone who wants it.

I finished watching House of the Dragon season 2, and I need to talk about it.
DISCLAIMER: Contains spoilers! Bear in mind that I didn't like the show. Nor do I hate it, but this post is probably going to be a rant. So, if you liked it, feel free to skip my post and/or not agree with it, be it fully or partially.
And a casual reminder that it's not only my personal opinion, but also an opinion of a person who has a degree in film studies and screenwriting, so I know what I'm talking about. Visually? Stunning. Writing? Well, about that...
Tumblr media
Here goes nothing. The series had a great potential that was not fully used, in my humble opinion. The idea is very good, but execution could've been much better. Many scenes are painfully long, and many are fillers bearing little to no message/significance. The characters regress, and to me, season 2 was somewhat weaker than season 1. I'll admit I can't say I liked season 1 more, however. It suffered from the very same issues that only grew in season 2.
Some character development was abandoned in season 2, Daemon being the brightest example. His visions in Harrenhal are too redundant and feel practically useless. All that to show that he eventually fully pledges fealty to his wife and gives up on the crown. Like, not because he decided to, but because he was seeing visions? Huh?? That's lazy writing if you ask me.
And let's take a moment to talk about his visions: I think when he picked up the crown and returned it to Viserys after the latter dropped it in season 1 was a beautiful moment meant to show his evolution as a person. Season 2 showed me that it didn't matter as if it never happened. Look at him. He feels soooo guilty now for... for what? He did make amends with his brother, did he not? He supported Rhaenyra. And don't tell me he pretended to. That's a season 2 thing that appeared out of blue. Those visions never advanced the plot. In all honesty, I see them as a waste of time and budget. Like yeah, cool seeing those same actors, yeah, cool, Daemon feels something.
But then, why go through the same character arc he went through in season 1?? I also hated the vision where he slept with his mother. Like, why??? It'd make more sense if it meant something like he doesn't really love Rhaenyra, he loves himself, and he marries her because he sees himself in her because they're literally flesh and blood. Perhaps he views her as a part or an extension of himself, an appendage. That'd be interesting, but it would've been shown differently. And, besides, it's not the intention of the scene where everything is ridiculously simple. But why include his mother? To show he's dumb? Or horny? Both? It served no purpose.
Aemond was dumbed down as well. I liked it when he was looking for Aegon to crown him in season 1, telling him how important it is and how he'd love to be king himself, but reminded it was Aegon's duty as heir. It was somewhat... nice? Though in his own rough manner. Yeah, he has quite a temper, but he also was said to be educated and cunning. Smart. Where did that go in season 2?
In season 2, he's a man-child. Wasn't he supposed to like feel guilty for having killed Luke? Wasn't he actually aware of the consequences of his actions? No, he pretends he doesn't care. Or maybe he's so dumb he actually doesn't. It pains me. He had a great potential.
The same goes for Aegon himself and Helaena. Especially Helaena, who basically became the background character. A queen who... who's just there? Yeah, she was shocked at how peasants hated her, but did she at least try to change anything? To learn more? No, she was just sitting around, sad and powerless. We never see her interact with Aegon, too. And that's terrible. Doesn't she at least try to speak to him? Advise him?
Unlike Aemond, Aegon was more like Viserys, though this wasn't well shown I find. There was but like one moment where he said something about not being willing to cause more violence or something like that in the beginning of season 2. And that's it. I know, he's supposed to be a rebel, a wayward son, young and all that. But still, he took his role as a king quite seriously. Well, that's what they attempted to show, at least. After his injuries, we see what remains of him, which is not too different really. He's literally mourning his cock. Excuse me?? And where's Helaena? Their daughter? It's as if they no longer exist.
Oh, and let's not forget the ending where everyone is just staring into the horizon during the last 20-30 minutes of the episode. Anticlimactic, even considering the budget cuts. Perhaps, especially considering the budget cuts, because the story felt painfully stretched this season. Many scenes are unnecessarily too long. About most of them, I had a craving to cut them out (if I were editing the show). The pacing is odd, as if they needed fillers to meet the required running time for each episode.
Rhaenyra is frustrated, and that's frustrating to watch. She's a queen, but she listens too much to her sexist advisors who are supposed to be loyal regardless of her gender. They've sworn themselves to a woman but have no compassion for her. I know they probably seek to control her. But she's strong. She freaking has a dragon. I'm not saying she should threaten them, but what would they do if she did? Basically, she complains the whole season about being a woman.
Her kiss with Mysaria was really unnecessary. What did that even mean? I hoped it'd be a platonic hug of understanding. But nope. It was... awkward. And didn't seem to do anything as later they looked like it never happened. Then her meetings with Alicent, especially the last one... so flat. Why? Alicent has no choice, certainly, but why would she be so stubborn? Only to return and go "actually you know what, I've changed my mind" to Rhaenyra, who's like "great timing, you're a tad late." That made her look not desperate but kinda... stupid.
Oh, and another one of the issues from season 1 that festers in season 2 is the unstable tone. They're trying to be funny sometimes without being too funny, but it looks so off. One moment, you're trying to set a dark and dramatic tone. The next, it's a joke. Naturally, as a viewer, you'd be confused at how you're supposed to feel. Humour is usually used in drama to enhance immersion, make characters more human, build a connection and empathy between them and the viewers, and most importantly to give more emotional weight to dramatic scenes. Unfortunately, that's not the effect they're getting in House of the Dragon, which is a great shame.
I have too many questions, as you can see. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read me, and feel free to comment or even DM me. I'd like to hear what you think and whether you share my opinion or not.
Have a great day!

why do these polls happen when I'm not here. Sobs. I'm weeks late...... weh. But anyways anyone who knows me knows that I will defend Iemitsu to the death idgaf, if u hate him pls block me for my sanity lmao. I don't mind ppl hating him but if ur gonna hate him, at least stop trying to act like he's entirely incompetent! HE'S THE ADVISOR OF NONO FOR A REASONNNNNNNN. It has also been years so I think Fandom needs to realize the perspective of Iemitsu has been skewed bc ur viewing this from Tsuna's perspective, who is a mess of a teenager. Ofc he'd view his father like That. Yes, you have reasons to hate him but also can't lie at this point yall need to realize Tsuna can be a little asshat too.
I will always argue that Iemitsu did the best he could, and yall treat other charas who have done way worse like saints compared to how you guys treat him. I wish Iemitsu was genuinely as bad as you guys think he is bc he's not LMAO. (For those who didn't read the manga, the shimon arc literally shows iemitsu being framed. That was from daemon spade setting things up and iemitsu was also a victim and I hate that no one talks abt the fact that his men died brutally in an elevator.)
also just need to get this out, and I haven't checked fanfics in a while but while yes I see why Tsuna bashes him, need you guys to also realize that Reborn canonically respects him in the manga. It genuinely surprised me to see how genuine Iemitsu was bc I'm so used to seeing ppl treat him like a punching bag of bad dad trope when yall can't even get any of his character right aside from being a caricature of Tsuna's anger. And this exchange between Iemitsu and Reborn is a way for Tsuna to move past his juvenile anger and to realize that there's more to his father, as well as the fact that Tsuna has been over-relying on his powers to win any fight is a huge and fatal flaw. Iemitsu wins and beats his ass for a reason. Thats good. It'll stoke the flames to continue improving Tsuna's skills and motivations to keep going... you guys can't treat Iemitsu like a joke atp if you read the manga lmao. If you do, I'm just gonna label you as childish. Just recognize Iemitsu as competent and it's fine. Tsuna is lashing out but the fact that the Fandom doesn't recognize Tsuna's unfair judgements as at least part of a flaw is honestly grating on me. Yes he is a teenager. He is a bitch, that's the point! But now that KHR is much older, I think you guys can come to understand Iemitsu more than you can admit honestly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Iemitsu accepts that he'll never be someone Tsuna can rely on, but that doesn't mean he's shirked off his responsibilities like Fandom thinks he does. There's also the fact that when Nana is the one who almost gets attacked, Iemitsu isn't the one to suggest to erase her memories abt it - its Reborn and Bianchi. Pointing that out bc I vividly remember so many fics where Iemitsu manipulates his wife through Sky Flames, which is just. Not. True. He would never do that and you guys piss me off lmao. Why would he do her so dirty like that lmao? Nana and Iemitsu have this interestingly warped relationship thats both wholesome but also ??? I'll admit to how weird their marriage is, but its not like Iemitsu or Nana are unhappy, u guys just can't accept that these two are freak4freak.
He isn't some cartoonishly evil man, he's just ur average meh anime father who has a lot of shit on his plate. Yall discredit him too much for my liking :/
(Sorry op I appreciate ur poll but Fandom is never normal abt iemitsu so I feel. So. Tired. You seem like a sweetheart tho <3) my response accidentally ended up being an analysis of Fandom so if hit dogs holler idgaf, but for the love of God please at least read the shimon arc. Please.
Anyways I love Iemitsu Sawada my family guy <3
Tumblr media
Hello, companions. For the longest time (think every once in awhile I remember<3), I have pondered the general climate around Mr. Sawada Iemitsu in our little community here on Tumblr. So, I'm here to put my thoughts to rest. Please, tell me how you feel about Sawada Iemitsu. And if you are so willing, explain your vote to me in comments/reblogs. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Someone might have already sent this already but I'll still ask in case you didn't get it yet <33 I've always wanted to know your opinions and faves when it comes to KHR in general so for the fandom thingy : KHR!
Actually, nobody had sent in this one yet! Thank you for the request though! I always love talking about KHR! Probably way too much, according to most people I know!
Favourite Female: This is actually really hard because, not only is there an extreme shortage of females in KHR! but the ones that there are A) all awesome in their own ways and B) my favourites always change! At the moment though, especially since I’m rereading that arc, I’m going to admit that I’ve really come to love and appreciate Adelheid much more than I did the first time I read through the manga! I think she’s really underrated and a pretty great character!
Favourite Male: IMPOSSIBLE. My favourites change all the time and it would be easier to list who I don’t like! At the moment though, my favourites are Chikusa, Basil, Byakuran and Xanxus!
3 Other Favourite Characters: Shamal, Lancia, and Tsuyoshi…does this surprise anyone?
3 OTPs: Still don’t ship, still no otp’s. Ain’t ever going to happen.
Notp: Same as above! I really don’t care what you ship, as long as you don’t insist on shoving it in my face or reblogging my work (as I’ve had done on other blogs) as ‘this is so (insert ship here)!’ Like honestly, I think everyone should be allowed to ship whatever they want without fandom shitting on them but I believe that everyone should also be respectful about shipping and realize that it’s not the end all and be all to fandom?
Funniest Character: I will call bullshit if you tell me you made it all the way through the manga or anime without once laughing at Fran….it cannot be done!
Prettiest character: HOLY SHIT, HAVE YOU SEEN ALL THE CHARACTERS? THERE ARE LIKE, MAYBE FIVE NOT HOT PEOPLE!!!
Most Annoying Character: Honestly, though I love him, Lambo would be a total pain in the ass to be around for too long, especially as a kid! I mean, I’d still spoil him rotten but I’d be glad I could send him home after a bit when he became too much!
Most Badass Character: Okay, I know he’s more or less a complete psychopath but let’s be honest - Xanxus is a really badass psychopath! Not only is he a fearsome fighter but he’s also survived the zero-point breakthrough with minimal side-effects not only once but twice!
Character I’d like as my BFF: Shoichi and Spanner! They’d be such great friends, especially since I’m a huge nerd who likes to talk video games, anime, superheroes and corny science jokes!
Female Character I’d Marry: Nana - she’s the perfect wife, come on!
Male Character I’d Marry: There are so many choices but probably like Yamamoto or Fon or Spanner or someone just very low key and supportive like that because I’m a big ball of anxiety and neuroses and it would probably take a shit ton of patience to love me, honestly.
Character I hate/dislike/least like: I don’t really hate him per se - he’s a pretty good villain and his design is pretty cool but I’m not huge on Daemon Spade. I find him impossibly annoying to write and struggled so hard with any requests having to do with him, which is why he’s one of only two characters I absolutely refuse to write for!
