#i'd watech very carefully what happens in forks tbh like so many vampire together??? and one of them disagrees with our way of life????

i’m team aro #volterra4ever

reading all the books Midnight Sun and the official illustrated guide gave me a new outlook on aro and the volturi, like i don’t understand why they’re not MORE aggressive with carlisle, idk if i can be clear : 

- carlisle was one of them for a looooong time, long enough to know very well how they work and to know their dirty little secrets. tbh i’m not sure aro wants carlisle back bc he’s heartbroken his #bff left him behind, i feel like it’s more “omg i overshared and i’m scared he’s gonna tell”. 

- so logically, carlisle might know every little tiny weakness of every vampire in the volturi coven, which makes him reaaally dangerous. he could blackmail one of the volturi or use anything he knows against them or their reputation

- carlisle is also 1) against the volturi’s way of life and 2) organising a coven with the OPPOSITE lifestyle which is threatening, especially since the cullen coven is big and carlisle has many friends that could also organise and idk, voice their opinion about the not so cool volturi’s lifestyle and that could escalate

- in the guide, it is said that the volturi try to not be involved with other covens because they don’t want to make other vampires unhappy (i mean they’re kind of the government AND the cops in vampireland so it’s gonna happen) and they don’t want to give others a reason to unite and fight them, because they’re very aware that they can be overthrown by a big enough coven. so yeah, they try to distance themselves from other covens....so getting involved THREE TIMES with the same fuckers, one being an ex-volturi, is probably a LOT for them

- from aro’s point of view, it’s totally logical to interpret carlisle’s family recrutement process as war preparation. like, the guy knows how to overthrow the volturi, finds MANY humans and then turns them and then keeps them with him. AND 3 of these humans (4 with Bella) have special abilities that could be very useful against the volturi

- and then carlisle had a BRILIANT idea, totally not threatening for a guy that managed to gather so many vampires together in one group that they can pass as actually several covens (as said in Midnight Sun), he decided to make EVEN MORE vampires come to him and prepare god knows what bc a god awful creature was born and he wants to protect it. what if it was a secret weapon? what if carlisle kind of baited/compelled the volturi with a confrontation only to use his secret weapon (renesmee) against them to wipe them out? like????? if i were aro i���d be SCARED and i’d 100% try to stop that shit to happen

so i’m currently rereading new moon and the guide and will reread all the other books so i’m only writing this long and disorganised post from the memories i have of my first read a year ago, but like, edward saying aro is the bad guy is a bit too much?? like i think that aro is corrupt but he’s certainly not as bad as edward makes him out to be and edwin should be GRATEFUL that the volturi didn’t come for carlisle’s suspicious ass before
