i absolutely adore the fics about cato & clove's last conversation as she died in his arms, like those fics fuck me up in the best way possible with all of the angst. but (and i'm a high schooler, not a neuroscience major/doctor so I obviously don't have full knowledge of how the brain works) if thresh took a rock and shoved it so hard into her head that it put a dent in her skull according to katniss, and the injury was so brutal that i would imagine that it's likely her brain straight up caved in on itself, i highly doubt that she had the capacity for stringing together a basic word like "hello" or remembering her own name, let alone exchanging last words with cato and asking if she's going to die

#ik that fixating on logic ruins the real spirit of fandom and theories and fanfiction #and also like a lot of people survive traumatic brain injuries and can still talk and move and stuff so i might be wrong #but i would assume that if there was an entire *dent* in her skull that her capacity for any activity that requires extensive use the brain #learning/intake of information/memory/motor movements/conversation skills #is all completely gone or reduced to the capacity of a toddler if that #i'd imagine that she was brain dead or a completely blank slate and the only thing she could think about/register was pain #and make animal like groansbut this post is extremely depressing and doesn't contribute very positively to fandom #so i might #delete later #txt #thg
