#i'd feel bad reading about an Adrestian civil war against Supreme Leader since we know the plot commands that they fail

As for more roman shittiness we can safely say that imperial ambitions really did point to roman rulers wanting to dominate the (known) world by force, and it included heavy state-sponsored xenophobia, as any non-roman was considered little better than a barbarian who they could freely enslave or whatever else they wished (sound familiar? Lol) reading on the gaulish, gothic and britannian campaigns is really eye opening. And to dig even further, their literature on the conquest of israel and how they treated the jews during and after, whew. The coliseum in rome was built with jewish slave labour for example.
The comparisons are obv a stretch considering intsys is very lazy with their writing, but well, seiros built enbarr’s canal with her bare hands and the ungrateful adrestians still don’t care because non-adrestians are all inferior anyways
Yep,
That's what often happens with imperialism - some people bring civilisation others, and those others, in turn, are considered 25th rate people/citizens, free to be exploited, foddered, slaughtered, etc etc. That's why I mentioned the edict of Caracalla in the crossed comments, everyone (men) became citizens like Romans from Rome! Everyone is finally equal... or not?
That being said, about Fodlan, given how Northerners became fodder, I don't think this thing happened or maybe it happened but a bit too late and Loog was already rebelling !
However I disagree with Seiros, I don't know when she built the canal, but she was already around Enbarr performing miracles when people thought she was super cool and formed her Church in -46. Maybe she became an honorary Enbarrian after building the canal lol.
Granted, Supreme Leader is a bit of a special case, and Hubert is Hubert, but I don't remember anyone else in Adrestia who knows Rhea is Seiros who thinks Seiros BaD.
For whatever it's worth, Supreme Leader had to pull out the propaganda machine, I mean, the "information campaigns" to convince people the CoS is BaD and even during the war we know there are some Adrestians - religious ones - who are persecuted because, I suppose, they keep on being religious and faithful to "the Church of Seiros" even if Supreme Leader wants to MAGA and said to that effect Church of Seiros BaD.
And that's what pisses me with Adrestia, we never meet an Adrestian commoner, we don't know if the commoners think they're superior to the rest of the world, by virtue of being Adrestians, or if it's only a nobility thing. At least we can surmise that given how some Adrestians attend to the Officer's Academy in GM, some of them realise that maybe something that isn't Adrestia isn't horseshit, and maybe spending time with people from Faerghus and Leicester isn't a chore and they're not so inferiors that even being in the same place makes them sick, iirc Papa Gautier's first wife was Adrestian !
Even back then during the WoH, were the people of Enbarr thinking the northerners were doodoo because they weren't Enbarrians, or they thought they sucked because they were followers and allies of Nemesis?
The Feast of Decadence portrays Northerners being fed to beasts - even if it's a novel - so was it a common passtime for the nobility during Lycaon III's days, or it has always been like this since the WoH ended, or even earlier, when Wilhelm was in charge (and Seiros around)?
TBF, I'd love to learn more about Adrestia in Fodlan, how it was and when and why did it turn to horseshit, but also, see more of the current Adrestia that isn't Supreme Leader's court.
#2goldensnitches#FE16#Adrestia stuff#i'd feel bad reading about an Adrestian civil war against Supreme Leader since we know the plot commands that they fail#else no uwu#maybe it's just wishful thinking#but i don't think Adrestia as its inception would have been as shitty as IRL Rome with non Adrestians because Rhea was there#Sure Willy is the Emperor but I can't see him calling someone a second rate human being#when Rhea's fam was slaughtered because they weren't considered humans to begin with
