Chapter 8: Blaise Zabini and Accidental Magic
Series Masterlist
Now sitting in front of the Reyes family it was easy to see and understand an offhand comment Isabella made to Blaise months ago, “I look just like my dad.” The same wide nose, heart shaped face, almond shaped dark brown eyes framed with round glasses and tight black curly hair. There were enough differences to where they weren’t carbon copies of each other though. Isabella was much lighter than her father and shorter, her father kept his hair cut short and it had grown more gray than black, and his face was wrinkled showing his age. His hands were smooth and firm as he shook Blaises’ hand, “Henry Reyes.”
“Blaise, it’s nice to meet you sir. Isabella talks alot about you.”, which was relatively true, when talking about her family 99 percent of what Isabella shared was about her father. “My dad taught me to read”, “my dad and I used to always talk on the drive to and from school, so now I’m sending him letters” and most worryingly was “my dad is super protective.”
“Only good things I hope.” he quipped with an easy smile, going to shake Blaises’ mothers hand, pull on a curl that escaped Isabella's bun. He kissed his wife’s cheek, sitting beside her. “So what have I missed?”
“Elizabeth was just telling me about her clothing business.” Mrs. Reyes told Mr. Reyes in English.
I guess Isabella wasn’t exaggerating when she said her father doesn’t speak Spanish.
“Yes, I used to be just a supervisor, allowing my employees to take over so I could raise Blaise. But,” his mother sighed “ with him at school and nothing to do at home, I’ve returned to work.”
“We can definitely relate, Estefania and I have been trying to keep busy with Isabella away from home. But it has been nice to learn that she’s making friends. She’s a bit of a recluse, she’s a bit too much like me in that regard.” he explained with a sheepish smile pushing his glasses further up his face, looking at his daughter.
Next to Blaise, Isabella joked “Yes, I entirely blame you. I’m glad you're accepting responsibility.”
“Though I will say I was particularly surprised when she wrote to us about Blaise. Isabella had strong opinions about the boys in her elementary school in America.” her father told Blaises’ mother.
“Blaise isn’t nearly as aggravating as those-” Mrs. Reyes sent her daughter a seething glare “...aggravating kids.”
“Well I hope not.” Elizabeth giggled with perfect pitch, “I raised Blaise to be a gentleman and I’m not just saying that because I’m his mother. While he definitely has his moments testing my patience,” -Blaise gawked at his mother in offense- “he’s a good kid.”
“I don’t know if I'd call him a gentleman, more like a controlled nuisance.” Isabella teased, relishing in how his mother humbled him.
“I am wonderful, I don’t know what both of you are talking about-”
“Whatever you need to tell yourself Blaise.”
“Leave me alone Reyes.” The adults laughed and Isabella’s father offered the women some wine, heading inside to grab the three of them glasses. Blaise decided it was his chance, “Ma can I talk to you for a second?” His mother raised an eyebrow at him but complied anyway, as they walked to the other side of the porch, he saw Isabella slide next to her mother, distracting her.
“What’s wrong?”
“Ma, Isabella is having accidental bursts of magic, bad. She says her parents are getting worried about her. We think we should explain to them how if she comes home with us we can better help her regulate her magic.”
His mother looked dubious, “What kind of burst of magic?”
Blaises’ eye twitched, “I don’t know. I didn’t ask. Ma, she seems really… I’m worried about her, I’ve never seen her so…frazzled. I think if we leave her here, it will be worse.”
His mother stared at him, taking in his expression and he tried to convey his thoughts through his eyes. “I’ll do my best to convince them but Blaise if something is wrong with Isabella’s magic, you need to tell me now.”
Memories of stories Isabella had told him flood into his mind. Stories about how when she was a child light would surround her hands, how her magic would hum around her and she could feel the energy. He thought about how he would sometimes feel like he got shocked with electricity when she casted spells near him, how when she got passionate about something there would be sparks. Blaise told his mother about his memories and saw as her face stilled, and she took on the expression she put on before going to Wizengmot. “Alright, I’ll work it out.” Before he could ask what she meant, she pushed him back to the couch just as Mr. Reyes walked back out.
The evening went on, Isabella asking him all about Christmas with the elves and the adults laughing away, exchanging stories about when their children were young. “I must ask, Blaise has told me how strong of a witch Isabella is, it's very common for magical children to show signs of magic when they are young. Did Isabella have any symptoms?” Elizabeth inquired with an unsuspecting tone.
Mr. and Mrs. Reyes shared a look, Mrs. Reyes gestured with a hand wave for her husband to answer. “Isabella was…very magical. When she was born she cried and the power went out in the hospital. We would take away her toys and they would turn back up in her hands, her snickering to herself. Little things like that would happen all the time. But when she was a toddler-” he whistled lowly “it was clear she was special. When things didn’t go her way she would throw tantrums and cry like you wouldn’t believe. The house would shake, stuff would levitate.” he chuckled to himself quietly, running a hand down his face.
“She glowed.” Mrs. Reyes whispered almost too quietly to be heard, reaching for her husband's hand. “Whenever she was happy she glowed. She was sad, she glowed. When she was mad-” she took a shaky breath “she would light up the whole house. At first I brought her to my pastor, asked him why this happened. He said he didn’t know why but “está en manos de Dios”.” and he sent me away.”
It’s in God’s hands.
Elizabeth nodded sympathetically, “Your daughter is very special. She will have support at Hogwarts and in her friends and she will grow.” she promised.
“It happened recently. It shocked us as she stopped around the age of five, just in time for school.” her father confessed.
His mother pounced on the opportunity he practically handed her, “Her magic can be controlled. If she is in magical space, her magic will calm and she will be able to relax. If it happened recently there is a chance it will happen again, if she were to come with us she would transition smoother back to Hogwarts.”
Blaise and Isabella shared a look, they were sure before that it was a lie but hearing it in his mothers syrup-like voice they weren’t so sure. Mr. Reyes’ face hardened and he opened his mouth but his wife cut him off, “ Henry, she will come back.”
“Yeah. Dad it's not forever, I’ll be back in a couple months and I’ll be better than ever. I’ll keep writing and let you know if I need anything.” Isabella promised.
Looking between his wife and his daughter, he sighed. “Looks like I’m outnumbered. Go get your things, Isabella.” She immediately hopped up kissing both of her parents on the cheek before rushing into the house. “She loves it there, you know. In your world, I won’t lie to you, we…don’t share the same sentiment. But if it's what's best for her, so long as she isn’t hurt…”
“She won’t be. I’ll make sure of it Mr. Reyes.” his mother swore.
By the time Isabella brought down her trunk, wrapped up in a black robe and a black beanie with the Hufflepuff crest on it, Mrs. Reyes had thanked his mother at least forty times in Spanish for promising to look after her daughter. “I’m sure you can imagine but as a mother it's really difficult to send her to a school I can’t even see.”
“Mama, I’ll be fine I swear, if not I’ll come home.” Isabella groaned, practically jumping around, ready to go.
“Estefania, let them go before she explodes.” Mr. Reyes teased, embracing his daughter. Mrs. Reyes hugged Isabella as well and Isabella once she was released, all but pushed the Zabini’s out the door.
“Bye Mama, bye Dad, love you!” she yelled. “Alright let's go before they change their minds.” And they apparated away.
“Woah, this is nice.” Isabella gasped when they appeared in the Zabinis’ living room.
“Thank you, Isabella. It's getting late, have you already eaten?” his mother asked.
“Yes ma’am.”
“Well then, Blaise show her to the guest room in front of yours. Lila!” she called.
“Yes, Ms. Zabini?” Lila responded by popping up at his mothers side. Her eyes widened at the sight of Isabella and Blaise had to force his hand into his pocket so he would facepalm. “Is this Ms. Reyes?”
“Yes it is Lila and while I’m sure you’d love to speak to her, the children are tired. Please drop off her things in her room. It’s in front of Blaises’.”
“Yes, Ms. But I must say, If you need anything at all please feel free to call my name, Ms. Isabella.”
“I will, thank you Lila.” and with that Lila popped away.
“Off you both go, I know you probably won’t go to sleep immediately but please don’t stay up too late talking. I will be waking you both up early to have breakfast tomorrow.” she warned.
“Yes Ma.” “Yes ma’am.” They agreed simultaneously. The moment they were at the bottom of the staircase, which led to the part of the manor where their rooms were, they sprinted up the steps down the hallway eager to catch up.
“Ok,” Blaise said, slowing down to properly show Isabella the way to their rooms. “Our rooms are right down this hall. Mine on the left, yours on the right.”
“Cute, I’ll check out mine later.” she sidestepped him, and ran right into his room. “Damn, you really weren’t joking when you said yall are rich, huh?” she half joked while taking in his room. Blaise looked around and tried to imagine what it looked like through the eyes of someone who wasn’t raised here; large dark wooden furniture, canopy bed with purple sheets and drapes, walk in wardrobe, and a sitting area for him to do his homework with a massive window which allowed the moonlight in the room. “Yeah.” he responded lamely.
Isabella snorted at his response, taking off her shoes before getting a running start and jumping on his bed. “This is nice. You better get used to me being here because I am.” she giggled as she wiggled around getting comfortable.
“I’d like to remind you this isn’t your room.”
“Whatever.” she mumbled into his pillow.
He joined her on his bed, crossing his legs. “We have to talk about your magic.”
“No we don’t.”
“Yes, we do.”
“Nuh uh.”
“Yuh huh.” Blaise cringed bracing himself for-
“Did you just say ‘Yuh huh’?!” Isabella screeched, finally sitting up.
“Hush! Before you alert the elves.” Isabella fell back in a fit of laughter. “Laugh while you can cause I’m not letting you go to sleep until we talk.”
Isabella eventually caught her breath, “We are talking.”
“You know what I mean, Reyes.” he sternly replied, trying to gather his patience.
“Alright alright so fussy.” she taunted. “Ask away.”
This made Blaise pause. Where do I even start?
“I told my mom about your magic.” He quickly recapped the conversation he had with his mom just a few hours earlier, “She’s going to want to talk about it tomorrow, we need to be on the same page.”
Isabella grabbed a pillow and held it to her chest staring up at the ceiling, “Well I don’t know how much to say, I don’t want to waste time talking about something only to be told it's normal.”
“Well I don’t have siblings or cousins or anything so I can only speak from my perspective but glowing…is not…normal.” he rushed to add “As far as I know.”
“Figured.”
“... So can you tell me about it?”
“It's exactly like my parents said any strong emotion I would light up like a glow stick.”
Now isn’t the time to mention I don’t know what a glow stick is.
“What do they mean glow like the light from our wands or-”
She cut him off “No it was like the light came from me, sometimes it was just my hands, it didn’t have a definite shape. At times it was a beam, others a bolt, other times it was just energy swirling and rippling around me. It was gold and yellow, like sunlight. There were times where I was able to transfigure things by focusing the light on them. I would look at something across the room and it would appear in front of me in a whirl of yellow. I didn’t even need to say anything, I would just want it and it would happen. I didn’t need to focus, I didn’t need to try it just…was”
Blaise decided to ask the tough question, “You said your parents were scared "again "...” he trailed off weakly.
She didn’t say anything for a while. Blaise almost gave up and was getting ready to give in and walk her out. Then she confessed quietly, “The older I got, the more conscious I was, the worse my emotions were because I was actually reacting to things, you know. And then I would glow. I wouldn’t even notice all the time, I’d just be in the moment and then I’d look around at my parents, and they looked terrified. It's not natural, you know. My mom is really religious so she got nervous, that's why she brought me to that priest.” She looked at Blaise. “She wanted to be told that what I could do was something good, a blessing from God. But when she got the priest's vague reply…she changed. I’ll never forget sitting in the pews of the church looking at the marble and taking in stained glass images of Mary and seeing my mother walk out, grab my hand and tug me to the car.”
Blaise laid down next to her lying on his side to face her. She continued, “ Ever since then she was cold. She loves me. I know that but she doesn’t… trust me. When McGonagall came with my letter and explained everything to my parents, she just listened to everything quietly.” She sighed before turning on her side to stare back at Blaise, “But on a more positive note, my Dad is way more relaxed. He immediately accepted that my abilities were a blessing, he told me my whole life I was meant to do great things. McGonagall was just confirmation for something he already believed in. My dad loves me, he just gets worried that my magic will be dangerous to me.” she completed with a chipper tone, as if she didn’t just say something that could put her in St. Mungos for the rest of her life.
Blaise smoothly asked, “Dangerous how?” trying not to send Isabella back into her absent state she had been in when speaking about her mother.
“Sometimes when I was mad my magic came out in literal bursts of energy, gold waves of power that, like they said, would shake the house and sometimes knock stuff over. That’s what happened recently, my mom and I were arguing and a surge came out of my hands, it tipped over this large display case we have.” Blaises’ eyes widened, ”It didn’t land on anybody and my parents already called someone to come fix it but they still were nervous.”
They sat in silence for a bit as Blaise once again wondered how she had survived for so long.
Isabella let out a big yawn and left claiming that if she didn’t she was going to pass out. Hearing his door close Blaise called, “Lila?”
“Yes, Mr. Blaise.”
“I need you to wake me up as soon as my mom is awake, I need to talk to her before Reyes is awake.”
“Is there something wrong?
Yes.
“Not really, I just need to talk to her.” Blaise knew that his lie wasn’t up to par and that she would see through it easily, but he was too mentally drained to care.
“I will wake you as you wish.” She left him and Blaise was asleep before his head hit the pillow.
“Mr. Blaise…Mr. Blaise…” Lilia’s voice floated around in Blaises’ mind.
“What do you need Lila?”
“Hm you told me to wake you up when your mother did and now she's waiting for you in her quarters.”
“I told you to wake me up…when my mother…” Blaise repeated groggily, fading in and out of sleep, slowly leaning back on to his bed.
“Blaise Zabini!”
“I’m up! I’m up!” He cried shooting up in his bed, rubbing his eyes. The realization that his mother was waiting for him had him yelling his thanks to Lila as he rushed out his room and to his mothers. He skidded to a halt in front of his mothers door, knocking as politely as he could after just waking up. His mother found him swaying on his feet, eyes barely open.
“You needed to speak to me?”
His eyes snapped open, “Yes yes. I talked to Reyes yesterday and I found out some things I figured you’d like to know.” His mother silently let him in, they took a seat in her sitting room (connected to her bedroom) and he told her everything.
Blaise felt…bad. He felt bad for not asking Isabella for permission to tell his mother her story. He felt bad for telling his mother all of this the moment she woke up. He felt bad that he felt intense relief as he spoke to his mother. “Yeah- I mean yes…that’s what she told me.”
His mother rubbed her eyes and Blaise questioned how early it must be if even she was tired. “I’m glad you came and told me this.”
“...are you going to send her away?”
“No… I don't know. I don’t believe so. I need to think.” She mumbled standing up, heading into her bathroom, Blaise followed closely behind her. “I have friends I can go to, that I trust, medical professionals and theorists who specialize in researching potential new forms of magic. There are several ways of using magic but what is always consistent is that for the magic to be powerful there needs to be a wand or some sort of focus point. Wandless magic does exist but it's not very powerful and if it is, it doesn’t last for long.” she explained taking off her bonnet and unwrapping the scarf holding her locs. “ Other cultures prefer wandless magic and use it everyday. But that is for simple magic or for potions that use magical ingredients. Or group rituals where the magic is conjured through instruments, clothing, people joining hands etc. Which is what the majority of cultures outside of Europe use.”
Blaise was well aware of this, this was why his mother brought in teachers from across the globe to teach him their ways of magic. Ritual magic and potion making varied across cultures allowing for wandless magic.
She looked at Blaise through her vanity mirror, “But nobody has reached a point where magic takes a color or a shape or is visible without using a wand. Bursts of accidental magic like what you are describing are strange. It's not uncommon to have it happen but so strongly, so accurately, so simply. That is what’s strange. And I doubt she told you everything so there’s probably more we don’t know.” She turned to Blaise fully, “The way she described it sounded so…simple. I didn’t need to try it just…was. Even the strongest wizards in the world need to focus. Even with wandless magic, even with nonverbal magic, wizards need to focus. If not…it can be deadly. They need training. That’s why the ministry ensures that all magical children receive some form of education. Because even with limitless magic, we need to focus, think and then execute, which is a process that needs to be taught. If not, the magic just explodes out and can kill a wizard if they don't receive immediate magical medical treatment. All the most powerful wizards and witches follow that process, they're just a bit quicker than the rest of us. Magic doesn’t just work. It doesn’t just do as you like. There are rituals to be done, words to be said and potions to be taken. Isabella needs to get help and soon because in all of my study of magic across the globe, I have never heard of anything like this before.”

Matchmaker (Draco Malfoy x Reader)
Hi everyone! So....I know that it's been a while but I've recently joined a writing challenge called Cliche Month Challenge. It was made by @wreckofawriter (thank you so much for inviting me). Expect 2 more fics for this challenge. Also, I'm so sorry about being slow with requests, I am still writing them, I'm just being a turtle. This was really fun to write and I'm excited to write the other 2.
Prompt: 5 times Pansy and Theo failed to get Draco and Y/n together, and the 1 time they succeeded.
House: You choose
Blood Status: You choose
Warnings: Underage drinking, possible swearing, slight angst
Word Count: 4,822 words
A/n: If I'm being honest, this is a little messy and the point of view changes quite randomly at times. I'll also admit that it does seem pretty repetitive (heh). The reader in this story is female / uses female pronouns.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3rd Person POV
1.
Pansy and Theo snickered to each other in one of the hidden corners in the empty corridor. They watched as Y/n and Draco bumped into each other, waiting for the scene to unfold. For years, Pansy and Theo had to watch as the two friends fell deeper in love with each other but refused to confess their feelings because they were afraid it would ruin their friendship. Pansy was almost at the point where she almost screamed out to Draco that Y/n loved him so much and that she was sick of watching them dance around each other. Theo, on the other hand, found the two's obliviousness amusing and he wanted to see how many times he had to push them in the right direction before they confessed. So, the two teamed up to try and get their friends together to stop their useless pining. They continued to watch, listening in to the conversation between the two.
"Oh, sorry Dray, I didn't see you there." Y/n chuckled, feeling a light blush dust her cheeks.
"I didn't see you there either, (N/n)." Draco smiled back at her, blushing as well.
They stared at each other, an awkward silence now filling the room. Y/n couldn't tear her eyes away from Draco's grey eyes and his handsome face. Draco couldn't stop looking at Y/n's swirling (e/c) eyes. There was a certain warmth to them that captivated him. A few seconds passed before Y/n turned away and coughed slightly.
"Um, have you seen Pansy anywhere? I got this note from her to meet her here." Y/n asked, pulling out a small piece of paper.
"That's funny, I'm waiting here because Theo left me a note to meet him here." Draco said, confused.
"Do you think they-"
The two suddenly burst out laughing, thinking that they had both been ditched. They had no idea that Pansy and Theo had orchestrated the whole thing to let the two spend some time alone.
"Well, seeing that our friends have seemed to abandon us, how would you feel about spending the day with me instead, bestie?" Y/n smiled.
"I would love that, dear best friend." Draco answered.
From their hidden corner, Pansy and Theo watched the pair walk away. Pansy let out a frustrated sigh, turning to Theo.
"It didn't work! How can two people be so blind?" She pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance.
"Calm down, Pansy. We'll keep trying and eventually they'll see." Theo smirked. "I have another plan."
2.
Classes had just ended and the hallways were filled with students quickly trying to move to their dorms or next class. Pansy and Theo waited outside of their friend's classrooms, prepared to pull off Theo's plan. Although Pansy would call said plan stupid, Theo wanted to see how far something as simple as this would go. Finally, Draco and Y/n emerged from their classroom, talking excitedly to each other. Pansy stuck her leg out in front of Y/n while Theo shoved Draco forward. The end result was Y/n falling to the floor with Draco falling on top of her.
The two teenagers stared at each other, completely forgetting about the awkward position they were in. Their faces were turned into a deep shade of red, their lips just barely an inch away from each other. Y/n's eyes flickered to Draco's lips, feeling his soft breaths hitting her face.
Pansy and Theo watched from the sidelines, the latter convinced that his plan had worked. He had a smirk on his face while Pansy raised an eyebrow at him. There was no way that Theo's stupid plan would work if her note plan failed. She turned back to her friends on the floor, seeing that all of their classmates had created a circle around them, waiting to see what would happen next. At first, it seemed as though Y/n and Draco were in their own world before Y/n took a look around and noticed the crowd. She looked back at the boy on top of her, her face growing even redder.
"Um, Dray, do you mind g-getting off of m-me?" Y/n stuttered, as if finally taking in the situation.
Draco also seemed to snap back into reality as he too looked around. "Oh yeah, sure. Sorry about that." He apologized as he stood back up and offered a hand to Y/n, who gratefully accepted it.
The students who were watching the scene, grumbled disappointedly before continuing on their way. Pansy looked up to see that Theo's smirk had faltered, a fact that she found herself smiling at.
"Not so easy, is it Nott?" She taunted.
"I got further than you." He answered bluntly.
Pansy snorted, patting Theo's back gently. "Like you said, we'll keep trying until it happens."
Theo flashed Pansy a smile, chuckling softly. "Damn right."
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
3.
This time, Theo had concocted a plan based on Pansy's first idea with leaving fake notes for Draco and Y/n. It was around the time that dinner would happen and the sky outside was dark with thousands of stars littered across the black space. Like last time, Theo and Pansy hid themselves away from view, waiting for Draco and Y/n to arrive.
The two teenagers arrived at roughly the same time. Their eyes were lit up in surprise when they spotted the picnic blanket and candles placed gently on the grass.
"Did you-" Y/n started.
"What? No. Did you?" Draco asked.
Y/n shook her head before stepping in closer to the blanket. Atop of the checkered material, another note was waiting for them. Written on it, their names were printed neatly in fancy handwriting.
"Well, it looks like this whole set-up is for us." Y/n said, showing Draco the paper.
Draco raised his eyebrows before his signature smirk made its way onto his face. "Well, who are we to deny?"
Y/n's face turned red as Draco sat down on the blanket and gestured for her to sit with him. She obliged, settling next to her best friend.
"So, I'm guessing this note I got from you is also part of the set-up then?" Y/n questioned, taking out the note that Pansy left on her desk out of her pocket.
"I guess so, considering I also got a note from you." Draco chuckled, pulling out a similar note.
Y/n rolled her eyes at the utter ridiculousness of this situation. This had to be one of the stupidest pranks that anyone has pulled on her. Though deep down, she was glad that she could spend more time alone with Draco, so perhaps this 'prank' wasn't as bad as it seemed to be.
"Hey (N/n), you can really see the stars tonight." Draco pointed at the sky.
Y/n looked up and admired the stars with him. It felt nice, just being here with him and looking at stars together. She lay down on the blanket and started looking for any constellations she recognized. Out of the corner, she could see Draco closing his eyes and breathing slowly. He looked so peaceful in the quiet evening, the candle's light making him more attractive. Eventually, he opened them again before turning to her.
"Thank you, Y/n. Thank you for always being there for me. For always listening, no matter how little the problem is. I don't know what I'd do if you weren't my best friend." Draco said sincerely.
Y/n smiled back, "I'm happy that you're my best friend too, Draco."
About an hour or two had passed before the two friends decided to head back inside. They blew out the candles and took the blanket inside with them, smiling and laughing before they disappeared into the castle. Pansy and Theo came out of their hiding place, with Pansy grinning at a frowning Theo.
"It was a good attempt, Nott. Though it appears that not even you can get the two oblivious idiots together." She laughed.
"I'm still not giving up." Theo grunted.
"And neither will I. We'll get them someday, I just hope it won't take years."
Theo chuckled at the thought of him and Pansy spending the rest of their years at Hogwarts trying to get their two friends together. "Yeah, let's hope."
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
4.
One of the students was hosting a large party in one of the school's unused rooms. Luckily for Pansy and Theo, they managed to convince their two friends to come join them. There was a rumour that Blaise had managed to sneak some alcohol into the party to 'spice things up'. Pansy and Theo arrived at the party to see Y/n and Draco already chatting away happily in a corner. Theo leaned over to Pansy, a worried expression on his face.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked.
"Of course. Drunk words, sober thoughts, all that stuff. Just keep Draco away from Y/n and leave the rest to me."
He nodded before making his way to their friends, greeting them before taking Draco's arm and leading him away, leaving Y/n all alone. Blaise approached Pansy, two glasses of firewhiskey in his hands.
"Hey Parkinson, you want to join in on the fun?" He asked, lifting a glass to her. Pansy smiled, taking both glasses from him.
"Of course." She said, making her way over to Y/n, who looked a little nervous as she watched the rest of the party.
"Hey Y/n."
"Oh, hey Pansy."
"Great party, eh?"
"I guess so." Y/n answered uncertainly.
"What's wrong?" Pansy asked, knowing exactly why Y/n was uncomfortable.
"Pans, you know I've never been much of a party person, I don't even know why I agreed to come here."
"Because of Draco?" Pansy questioned slyly, watching Y/n's face grow red. She laughed at her friend' reaction, becoming even more amused at Y/n's attempts to shush her.
"You know what you need, Y/n? I think you need a little bit of liquid courage." Pansy held up the glass of firewhiskey to Y/n.
Y/n seemed to consider this before she cautiously took the drink from Pansy. She looked at the Slytherin girl, who nodded approvingly. Gathering her courage, Y/n lifted the glass to her lips and let the burning liquid go down her throat. She looked back to Pansy, seeing her friend offering her another drink.
"Two drinks in and you'll probably feel more comfortable." Pansy smirked, knowing fully well that Y/n was a lightweight and two drinks would be enough to get her totally drunk.
Y/n ignored any warnings ringing through her head and gulped down the second drink. Not long after, the effects of the alcohol began to take over. The next thing she knew, her brain felt fuzzy and she couldn't quite think properly.
"Pansy, have I ever told you how much I love you?" Y/n hiccupped. Pansy chuckled at the sight of her drunk friend, gently wrapping one of Y/n's arms around her back and taking her back to Draco.
"Yes, you have. Now for you to say that to Draco." She muttered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Pansy had finally found Theo and Draco, Y/n was a drunken, blabbering mess. Draco looked worried as he took Y/n off of Pansy's back.
"What happened to her?" Draco asked, brushing some of Y/n's hair out of her face.
"She had a bit too much firewhiskey to drink. Come on, let's take Y/n back to our common room so she can sober up." Pansy answered, watching Draco take one of Y/n's arms and Theo take the other. The group then headed down to the dungeons to the Slytherin Common Room. The whole time, Y/n loudly exclaimed whatever was on her mind, with the trio trying to keep her quiet so they weren't caught.
"You guys ever wonder why the Dark Lord has no nose? Like, if I were to be the most powerful wizard to ever exist, then surely, I'd wanna look good. Who wants to be famous for not having a nose?" Y/n shouted.
"Yes, yes, Y/n. Noses are great. Now, can you please be quiet?" Pansy sighed. She knew that Y/n was a lightweight but she didn't know how difficult she would be to handle.
Soon, Y/n fell asleep, the trio letting out a sigh of relief. Out of the corner of Theo and Pansy's eye, they noticed Draco smiling softly at Y/n's sleeping form.
As they entered the room, they noticed that it was completely empty. Everyone was still at the party, allowing the four friends to have the whole room to themselves. Draco and Theo gently put Y/n down on one of the couches, Draco sitting next to her. A few minutes had passed with idle chit chat between the three as Y/n continued to sleep. The night was still young and everyone was not likely to return from the party for a few hours. Eventually, Y/n appeared to stir a bit from her sleep, though she was still very drunk. Pansy elbowed Theo gently in the side and they both excused themselves before exiting the Common Room. In reality, they were hiding in the entrance to the boy's dormitories. Pansy gave Theo a high five as they leaned against the wall to peer into the Common Room.
"Draco...." Y/n murmured, finally starting to wake up.
"Y/n! How are you feeling, do you need anything?" Draco took Y/n's hand and squeezed it gently.
"Draco....I need to tell you something...." Y/n continued muttering.
"Yeah, of course. You can tell me anything, (N/n)."
Pansy excitedly looked over at Theo. "It's finally going to happen!" She whisper-shouted. Theo put a finger over his lips and gestured for her to continue watching.
"Draco....I...I...."
"Come on!" Pansy was ready to scream. Her body was filled with anticipation and she could barely hold it in.
"Draco....I'm really glad that you're my best friend." Y/n smiled sleepily at him.
"Oh come on!" Pansy face palmed. Theo was shaking beside her, trying to hold in his laughter.
"Shut up, it's not that funny!" Pansy swatted Theo's arm.
"Of course it is! You were practically splitting at the seams from excitement only for it not to happen!" Theo held a hand over his mouth, still trying to stay quiet.
Pansy rolled her eyes and went back to watching Draco and Y/n, disappointment settling into her stomach. She was so sure that this would work, that drunken Y/n would be dumb enough to confess to Draco her undying love for him.
"I'm glad that you're my best friend too, Y/n." Draco grinned. "Now, let's get you to your room. You're going to need to sleep off all that alcohol." Draco lifted Y/n up bridal style and carried her off into the direction of her room.
With both of them now out of the room, Theo burst out laughing. He practically fell to the floor from the endless laughter. Pansy watched him with crossed arms, waiting for him to finally finish. As the laughter died down, Theo took a couple of deep breaths before he settled down.
"Got anymore bright ideas?" Theo joked.
"Maybe." Pansy smirked, a new plan already forming in her head.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
5.
Pansy was tired of their plans failing. She took out a small bottle of a love potion out of her bag, seeing Theo raise an eyebrow at it.
"This is your big plan?" He asked, almost unimpressed.
"Well, everything else hasn't worked so far! This is almost a guaranteed way for them to get together." Pansy reasoned, pouring the potion into a glass of orange juice. Due to being hungover from the party last night, Y/n ended up sleeping in past breakfast. Although Pansy couldn't sneak any food out of the Mess Hall, she had managed to grab some juice on her way out. She watched the potion disappear into the orange liquid, smiling to herself. Theo was doubting the plan, but she'd show him. This would work, she told herself.
Of course Theo doubted the plan. He'd heard of far too many stories where love potions only lead to trouble. He looked back to Pansy, seeing her smile at the mixture in her hands. She was so confident, so sure that this would provide the success they needed. He couldn't wait for this to fail so he could have another laughing fit. Not saying that he wanted this to fail, just that it would be hilarious if it went wrong. He chuckled, thinking of various scenarios where it could take a bad turn.
30 minutes later, Pansy found Y/n tiredly walking through the halls to get to class. Luckily for them, the four friends had Charms together in the morning, so it would be easy to give Y/n the potion and watch her reaction.
"Y/n! You doing okay? You were pretty drunk last night." Pansy greeted, "I couldn't get you any food, but I got you some juice so you have some energy."
Pansy handed her the drink, Y/n thanking her. The three then headed to Charms class, with Y/n complaining about how groggy she felt. They arrived and saw that Draco was already there, patiently waiting for his friends. Y/n sat down next to him while Pansy and Theo sat behind them. Y/n took a sip of the juice, not expecting a strangely sweet taste to fill her mouth. It was an unnatural sort of sweet, like someone poured a whole bottle of honey into the drink. She brushed it off though, thinking that it tasted weird because it was the first thing she had consumed that morning.
"It's happening!" Pansy whispered excitedly, as she elbowed Theo's arm.
"Don't get too excited, Parkinson." He reminded her.
It didn't take long before the potion had taken over the (h/c) haired girl. However, to Pansy's confusion, the girl's gaze snapped from her notes to Blaise Zabini. To her horror, Y/n got out of her seat and settled into a new one next to Blaise.
"Oh no...." Pansy cursed to herself.
"Hey Zabini. Have I ever told you how attractive you are?" Y/n asked, giving Blaise a flirty smile. The potion apparently also gave her newfound confidence.
"No, but I would like to hear more about it." Blaise returned her flirty tone as Y/n giggled.
Pansy continued spitting curse words under her breath as she looked over at Draco's heartbroken expression. Theo looked at her with crossed arms and a smug smirk.
"What did I tell you?" He said, sarcastically.
"Shut it. Now you gotta help me convince Draco that she's not in love with Zabini!"
"Fine. Just keep in mind that this was your plan." Theo rolled his eyes.
Pansy and Theo leaned over their desks to Draco, who was still looking at Y/n with sad eyes. Pansy felt horrible and was terrified that she'd driven them apart.
"Hey Draco...." She started, not sure how she should approach the situation. Draco looked up at her, hurt evident in his eyes.
"Cheer up, I'm sure that she doesn't actually like Zabini." Theo reassured. Draco nodded silently before his eyes went back to the (h/c) haired girl clinging onto Blaise's arm. He let out a sigh before turning back to his work, glancing at Y/n every now and then through the corner of his eye.
"Merlin, Theo. We need to get an antidote for this thing and we need it bloody fast." Pansy scowled.
"Well, I could make it but it'll take me the rest of the day."
"Then, you need to get started on it now. I can't watch Y/n cuddling with someone like Zabini any longer without feeling the urge to vomit."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The end of the day was nearly approaching and Pansy was anxious for Theo to be done with the potion. The whole day, Y/n flirted and complimented Blaise, which really didn't help the Slytherin boy's already overinflated ego. Poor Draco was stuck watching his best friend fawn over an arrogant arsehole. Eventually, he was so upset that he retreated to the Common Room, hoping to avoid seeing them together again.
Pansy stood by Blaise and Y/n, cringing every time she heard her friend gush about the large muscles the boy had. Where was Theo? She wasn't sure how much more of this she could take and she could only imagine how Draco felt. Finally, she spotted Theo hurriedly running towards her, holding out the antidote. He quickly handed her the bottle and she turned towards her spelled friend with full intent to end this now.
"Hey Y/n! I dare you to drink whatever is in this bottle!" Pansy taunted.
"What? No! What if it's poison?"
"What are you, chicken?" Blaise challenged as he turned to his new admirer.
Y/n's face turned red as she begrudgingly took the bottle from Pansy's hand. Pansy smiled knowingly, realizing that Y/n was only taking it to impress Blaise. Y/n removed the cork and swallowed the contents, not even hesitating or stopping to breathe. When it was empty, she nearly dropped the glass as a sudden dizziness hit her.
"Guys, I'm feeling a little woozy." Y/n trailed off, the world spinning as her eyes closed and everything turned black.
Y/n awoke to Pansy and Theo calling her name. She opened her eyes and found the two looking at her with worried eyes.
"What happened?" Y/n asked when the memories suddenly flooded her brain. She grimaced at the thought of how she acted, especially when she constantly fed Blaise's massive ego. "Wait, where's Draco?"
"He's in the Common Room. He left after seeing-" Theo started but he didn't need to finish before Y/n felt the immense guilt build up. She hated the idea that Draco thought she liked Blaise. That would never be true in a million years.
"What about me? Why don't you tell me more about how attractive you think I am." Blaise asked, pushing himself between Theo and Pansy, holding out a hand towards her. Speak of the devil. Y/n scowled before shoving his hand away and getting herself up.
"Shove off, Zabini. I'm going to get Draco." She flipped him off as she started quickly making her way to the dungeons with Pansy and Theo behind her.
When they arrived, Theo and Pansy hid in the entrance of the boy's dormitories and Y/n found Draco sitting on one of the couches, staring intently at the fires burning warmly in the fireplace. Her heart twisted at the sight of him and how his usual bright eyes seemed blank. She sat down next to him and waited for him to acknowledge her. Finally, he turned to her with a deep frown.
"Didn't know you liked guys like Blaise Zabini." He said, coldly.
"Dray, I swear that it wasn't me. I was spelled with a potion. Please, you have to believe me. I don't love Zabini, I love-" Y/n cut herself off before she could reveal her big secret. "I don't want you to get the wrong idea. You're my best friend, Dray. I would hate it if you saw me as that type of girl."
Draco gently took her hands in his. "You promise you're not into Zabini?"
"Yes. Merlin, I would take back all those compliments I gave him if I could. He such a pompous arse."
Draco chuckled, making Y/n's heart skip a beat. He wasn't mad at her and he believed her. Her best friend was back and she hoped that she would never come that close to losing him again. She loved Draco too much.
"And for the record, you're my best friend too, (N/n)."
"I know."
Pansy crossed her arms and sighed deeply. She royally messed this one up, didn't she? Theo smiled softly at the girl next to him, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Are we done with your extreme plans now?" He teased.
"I give up. It's your turn to come up with a plan now." Pansy said, dejectedly.
"Oh, I have one." Theo's smile grew wider.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
1.
"Are you ever going to tell Draco about your crush on him?" Pansy asked Y/n as they walked through the halls together.
"Pans, you're not supposed to be talking about this in public."
"I just want to know. You guys are best friends, you're not meant to have secrets."
"That's just it, we're best friends. If I told him, it could ruin our friendship. Or worse, if we fall apart, we could never be as close as we used to be. It's easier for me to just keep these feelings hidden because I don't want to lose him." Y/n sighed.
Pansy's face grew hard as she suddenly took hold of Y/n's arm and began dragging her somewhere.
"What are you—Pansy! Let go of me this instant!" Y/n shouted but Pansy ignored her, leading her to an empty classroom.
"I'm tired of you refusing to tell him about your feelings just because you think that you'll lose him." Pansy growled lowly as she tossed Y/n into the room. "You two are going to talk and I'm not letting you out until you confess."
Pansy closed the door and locked it, causing Y/n to panic. She began to knock furiously on the door, begging Pansy to let her out. "Pans, let me out! This isn't funny!"
"You're trapped here too, eh?" Y/n's pleading was cut short when she turned and saw Draco at the other side of the room.
"Yeah, how did you get here?"
"Theo told me to meet him in this room, then he turned and locked me in here." Draco glared at the door, knowing that Pansy and Theo were probably listening in to their conversation.
Y/n turned back to the door. "Pans, I swear to Merlin, let me out!"
"Did you two confess yet?"
"No!"
"Then you don't come out." Pansy's blunt statement caused Y/n to bang her head against the wooden door.
"We don't even have feelings for each other!" Y/n shouted before she heard some sort of heavy breathing. Confused, she turned back to Draco to see him looking at the ground, his fists clenching and unclenching. She approached the blonde boy, worried about why he was suddenly acting like this.
"Dray, are you....alright?" She asked, cautiously.
"No, I'm not because, Salazar, I love you, Y/n!" He shouted.
Y/n froze in her tracks, unsure of what to say. Her heart was racing and her head was filled with a million thoughts. Draco loved her? After all this time, he loved her and she didn't even know.
"And it hurts to know that you'd only ever think of me as a best friend. Yesterday, when you were with Zabini, it was hell to watch you flirt with him because I was so incredibly jealous. I hated the thought that you liked him, and that you could never see me that way. Then you told me you were spelled and I actually thought I still had a chance. Now, we're trapped in a room together because our stupid friends think that we like each other. Under different circumstances, I would have never told you about these feelings because I was willing to let you be happy with someone else as long as I could still be with you, even as a best friend. I love you, Y/n. I love you so much and I would do anything for you. Though, it's been made clear to me that you don't feel the same." Draco finished his rant, still breathing heavily.
Y/n's brain was still trying to process this new information. Too many thoughts were running through her mind and her mouth refused to move. Those three words were at the tip of her tongue but for some reason, she couldn't say them. Her silence was all the answer Draco needed.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't of have said that. This was stupid. Just forget what I said." Draco averted his gaze to the side, tears starting to form.
That's when Y/n couldn't control herself as she ran up to him and pressed her lips against his. Draco let out a surprised squeak but soon began to kiss her back. Eventually, the two parted and Y/n embraced Draco tightly.
"I love you too, Dray. Merlin, I was afraid to tell you for so long because I didn't want to lose you. I tried to push away my feelings but I never could. I wish that I had confessed sooner. Like I said before, I would never be into guys like Blaise because I love guys like you. I love you, Draco Malfoy. I truly mean it with all of my heart." Y/n whispered.
Unexpectedly, the door to the classroom burst open with Pansy whooping loudly as she walked in. Behind her, Theo smirked at the now couple as Pansy gave him a high five.
"We finally did it! Salazar, that took forever!" Pansy cried.
"Wait....all those other times....you guys were the ones setting us up?" Y/n raised an eyebrow at her friends.
Pansy froze, realizing the potential 'danger' she was in. She slowly nodded as Y/n's face twisted into a scowl. Taking this as her cue to leave, she tugged on Theo's sleeve and the two took off running down the corridor.
"Come back here, you two!!"
**********************************************
Thank you so much for reading! Fun Fact: A friend actually gave me a couple of ideas for this one! She helped edit it for me and she definitely ships Pansy and Theo in this one. (You don't have to ship them, I wrote it so that you could either see them as close friends or maybe growing closer and closer as the fic goes on. Let me know what you think.) I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thank you again. Until next time.
Halloween Gala (pt 2)
"Granger?"
"Malfoy?"
The two both stared at each other speechless, and what could they say? Neither of them had so much as seen one another since the Battle of Hogwarts and that wasn't the best memory for either.
Hermione didn't even know how to react. She was on the verge of running out of there as fast as possible but at the same time she wanted to stay, he was still the same charming man she had been talking to all night after all. Truth be told, she paid attention when hearing someone mention the name Draco Malfoy or even seeing it in the Daily Prophet. Hermione knew he had changed, but how much?
Draco, on the other hand, wasn't sure whether to let her go to give her some space, in case she tried to punch him like she had in their third year, or to simply wait for her to react first. While he no longer had little to any qualms with the mysterious woman turning out to be Hermione Granger, he had absolutely no idea how she's going to take him being Draco Malfoy. After all, he had tormented her the most during his stay at Hogwarts.
He waited for some reaction, any reaction, but it didn't seem to be coming and it was starting to get awkward just holding her like this with people staring so he gently let her go. She was just looking at him with those big brown doe eyes of hers and Draco knew he had to say something. The anticipation and urge to break the deafening silence was killing him. He blurted our the first thing he could think of.
"Wow I, uh, haven't seen you since..." Draco began but then realized he'd better not go down that road, "..well a long time."
Hermione seemed to snap out of whatever trance she was in as she shook her head and fumbled out a, "yeah."
Draco looked around for anything to talk about when he remembered where they are. "You work at the Ministry?" He asked and noticed others began to stop staring and go on with the party.
"How's you know that?" Hermione asked genuinely confused, though coming back to her original self.
Draco simply gestured around them.
"Oh! Right, yes I work in the Auror Research department," she informed him.
"Really? I'm an Auror, how on Earth have we not bumped into each other sooner?" He asked.
"I have no idea! I have heard Harry and Ron say that you work with them occasionally though," Hermione said cautious about bringing them up. She wasn't sure where he stood with them anymore.
Draco smiled, to her utter shock, "the blokes have been gossiping, have they?" He said amused. As if on que, they appeared.
"Us? Gossiping? I'm offended Malfoy," Harry said.
"Speak of the devil and he shall appear," Draco said to which Harry chuckled.
"Oi, is 'Mione alright? She looks like her head might explode," Ron joked.
"I-I what? Am I missing something here?" Hermione stuttered out.
"Only a lot it seems," Draco said.
"How and when did this happen?" She said gesturing you the three of them.
"Well after the three of us here finished our Auror training, Malfoy started his. At first none of us liked it but when we had our first assignment, we all had each other's back and it all seemed to change from their," Harry explained.
So why didn't either of you tell me?" Hermione asked and her two closest friends gave her an apologetic look. She vaguely noticed that the music had started again.
"Sorry 'bout that, we just weren't sure how you'd react to it. You don't go out into the field much so we didn't think you'd understand," Ron explained.
"I also asked them not to, I wanted to talk to you myself," Draco said with a sheepish smile, "I didn't know you bloody well work so closely to us and I would've expected to run into you a lot sooner than now."
"It's better late than never, right? And by the looks of it the two of you've really hit it off tonight so it works out just fine," Harry said given both of them a knowing look to which both blushed at their very public kiss.
"Yeah.." Draco said rubbing the back of his neck, "at least I found out where I recognized you from."
All of them laughed.
"Oh, by the way, have you seen Ginny? I haven't seen her since our...talk," Harry asked a bit embarrassed at how unsuccessful it had gone.
He was trying to apologize for how they left things and before he knew it, they were arguing and she stomped away. Harry felt awful and wanted to make sure she was ok.
"I think I found her," Draco said amused as he pointed off to the other end of the dance floor where Ginny and none other than Blaise Zabini were dancing. They looked like there was no one else in the world, similar to how Draco and Hermione had felt. People were starting to leave as most of the excitement was over so it wasn't hard to see them.
Harry's face grew pale at the look on his recent ex girlfriends face, he felt a pang in his chest that she was apparently moving on so quickly but he knew that it was for the best. After all, he was the one who broke up with her and it was a few months ago. He tried not to let it show.
"I'll just..talk to her later then," Harry said not able to keep the sadness from his voice.
"It's alright, Mate, now you can ask out that girl," Draco said trying to be helpful but careful not to say her name.
"Girl?" Ron and Hermione questioned simultaneously as Harry's face turned red from embarrassment at the blond's words.
"I-uh-think I'm going to turn in, it's late and-" Harry started before being cut off.
"Harry," Hermione said gently, "you can tell us, who is she?"
Harry looked at Ron but he nodded in encouragement, "it's Luna," Harry said quietly.
"Luna Lovegood?" Hermione questioned, at his nod she smiled, "oh that's lovely! I did have a feeling there was something special between you two awhile back."
"Really?" Harry asked.
"Yes, she understood you better then well any of us could and I think she suits you, Harry," Hermione told him. Harry thanked her and the attention went to Ron.
"I mean I'm surprised but Hermione has a point, if she'll make you happy then why not? You don't need our approval," Ron told him.
"Thank you guys," Harry said then yawned, "but really, I'd better get home."
They all said their goodbyes to Harry and then Ron decided to leave also, Hermione suspected that Harry had something to do with Ron's sudden decision so the two would be alone. Hermione loved them and knew they were just trying to help, but now she was alone with him and didn't have a clue what to say.
"Since they're gone, I'd like to formally apologize to you. I've been nothing but awful to you at Hogwarts and I know an apology won't change the hurt I've cause but I really truly am sorry, Hermione. For all of it. I've worked hard to change into a better man and I'd like to think I've done a good job so far,," Draco told her as searched her face for her reaction, "I understand if you can't forgive me, I probably wouldn't forgive me either, but I've really had a wonderful time with you tonight and I hope that perhaps we could start over?"
Hermione didn't expect such a apology but she could tell he meant every word, besides, if Harry and Ron could forgive him and even be friends with him, then that's enough for her. She had thoroughly enjoyed her time with him as well, and Hermione didn't want it to end here.
"Thank you, I think that's a wonderful idea. I'll never forget what happened, it's helped to shape who I am now, but I'm willing to give you another chance and forgive you," Hermione told him with a smile.
Draco was so happy that she had forgiven him and accepted his offer to start over that, without much thinking, he had lifted her up and spun her before putting her back on the ground. After he had lifted her he worried that might not have been the best move, however she simply laughed at the action with a bright smile on her face. He set her down and dramatically held out his hand.
"Would the lovely Miss Granger care to have one last dance to end the night?" Draco asked.
Hermione giggled and took his hand, "why yes indeed."
At this they began to dance to the music, they laughed and had danced more than once before finally parting. This Halloween night would be one to remember for many, many years to come.
The six of them being close is the best headcanon ever. also, i'd love to read more about lyla's relationship with her parents because its fascinating.
Yes!
Also I went to press play in my music and guess what started playing? Invisible Sting! My favorite Folklore song! Happy Fearless day!!
So Blaise and Daphne were incredibly unprepared to have a child
They didn’t read any books, they didn’t go to any classes, they barely went to their Healer appointments, they didn’t even offer to babysit any of their friends children
Like why are they having a baby? Because they want one, nothing more nothing less
And then Padma and Theodore have Anamika and it suddenly becomes clear they are having a baby
Blaise freaks out a little and starts putting together a nursery (because they hadn’t even done that either!)
Daphne goes into labor and neither of them know what to do
Lyla is amazingly enough born without any complications
Draco and Astoria are her godparents
Blaise and Daphne really don’t know what they’re doing
They just bring Lyla along with them everywhere, which is fine until she starts walking
As soon as it’s acceptable to get her a tutor they do
Most of their parenting is just handing their daughter off on to others
Her best friend is Anamika (born 22 days exactly before Lyla)
In fact, Lyla would argue that Padma and Theodore were more of parents to her than her own, or her Uncle Draco and Aunt Astoria
The one thing that they do take in pride in, is how smart and capable Lyla is
She equates their approval and praise to how much the love her
(And yet it’s a wonder why she’s so anxious)
She has her first panic attack before starting Hogwarts and it gets worse from there
Blaise writes to her often, asking lots of questions and trying to know what exactly his daughter is doing at Hogwarts
When she’s thirteen she has the worst anxiety attack and is taken to St. Mungo’s
Lyla doesn’t exactly know what to think when she sees her parents, both sleep deprived and crying over her
The best thing Blaise and Daphne ever do for her is get her into therapy
And let her stay with Scorpius the summer between her sixth and seventh year
They don’t like Hugo, they will never fully like Hugo, but they understand that Lyla is better with him in her life
He keeps her grounded!!
Once she graduates from Hogwarts and loves in with Hugo and gets her life settled to post-Hogwarts life, they have her over to dinner once a month
It’s very quiet like ever dinner in their house has always been, but it’s only ONCE a month
When she gets pregnant with Evan, Blaise starts to open up a bit
He was so scared to be a father as he never had one
He wants to be in his grandchildren life, more than Lyla’s grandmother ever was
It’s small, but it’s a start
Blaise is in the room when she gives birth to Evan
Daphne takes a bit longer, but she gets there, she loves being a grandmother and spoiling Evan
She puts in more of an effort when Lyla gets pregnant with Hector
It gets to the point they’re in regular contact and Blaise and Daphne are just as involved grandparents as Ron and Hermione
Lyla and Hugo actually start to rely on them to babysit more after Ro is born
It’s not often, but they need a night away from their kids every once in a while
So basically it’s a very distant relationship that grows closer with age, Blaise and Daphne are very selfish and immature people and they take just as much growing up as Lyla does
Daphne does eventually become very fond of Hugo and is very happy to have him in Lyla’s life and as the father to her grandchildren
❔
send ❔ and i’ll list a couple muses that i’d like to throw at yours! || accepting !!
i feel like i definitely misunderstood the assignment but i couldn't just list them i had to ramble pls forgive me
Serena:
Louis is an obvious choice. Trust fund baby but he's all trouble- all fighting and flirting. Mom's a politician but can't seem to keep a leash on her youngest wild child. Can work for her main (though I haven't seen the show I read the books ages ago), college or post-college.
Circe also grew up with money and probably was around those circles if not a part of them. But they could be daughters of family friends or meet up in college. Circe's a LOT more introverted than Serena so that could be fun.
I don't have a modern for Blaise but I could make one on the fly bc he too has the easy ability to slip into her social circles. Bonus points that I'd definitely keep the whole "mum's a literal black widow with 7 dead husbands" thing.
Mbege and her in college could be cool. He's a photography and computer science (programming specifically) major. Since she's fashion their photography classes could overlap.
Lily:
Louis jumped out for Lily, too. He's not a gang member per se but he's a troublemaker and they could definitely cross paths after Lily moves in with dad. Likely has friends in the gang and he himself has a dirty little secret involving a fight club.
Circe's got a mafia-daughter verse, that could be tweaked for gang stuff.
There's like a 60% chance Mbege and his bff Murphy got caught up in some gang shit from being childhood delinquents. I also have a werewolf verse for Mbege where he and Murphy are just their own lil two-man pack who roll around looking for trouble in other wolves' territories so that could be a thing?
Lolita:
*purrs loudly at lolita the assassin and circe's dc/marvel verse*
Also idk how to work it but Lolita the assassin and Jason Todd the vigilante spark joy I just don't have a plot to offer hahah
#lunelios#thank you for this!#if anything jumps out at you feel free to let me know and we'll start some stufffffffff
