Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc Chapter 34 Translation

Hi guys.  Sorry for the slight delay with the translation this week.  I didn’t think I was gunna be off work for the Reiwa/GW festivities this year, but I ended up home after all – with the flu! 😅 The fever is gone now and I’m slowly (keyword is slowly) getting over it.

P13 Yukito:  As soon as I’ve watered the plants, I’ll get it heated up. Yukito: <to himself> How many eggs should I have?? Nakuru:  For real, you really are just as carefree as always. Nakuru:  …If you could always stay that way, that would be the best. <Scene changes to Sakura’s school>

P14 Sakura:  I’m so glad it’s sunny out! Chiharu:  Yeah, (especially since) we’re at the pool for gym class today. Tomoyo:  And you’re really good at swimming, Sakura-chan. Sakura:  I dunno about good at it, but I do love swimming. Akiho:  Good morning! Everyone:  Morning! Sakura:  Morning, Akiho-chan! (Did you bring-)

It’s nice seein’ her happy.

I was at the Tojo Clan conference today. I dun really get all that tough mumbo-jumbo, but I put on a serious face like I was tryin’ to listen. It went surprisingly well... Everyone was pretty fooled. Guess I haven’t lost my actin’ skills yet.

P5: July 18, Day

Fer some reason, seems like Kiryu came back to Tokyo from Okinawa. I thought somethin’ coulda happened, so I gave him a call, but it wasn’t anythin’... just here on a trip.

I helped him with some things here and there, and said, “I’ll treat ya to some food,” but he declined with “Sorry, I'm with a kid.” I guess must be Haruka-chan. I said, “No worries. I can treat ya both,” but he seemed real sorry sayin’, “Thanks, but we can’t...” We’ll just meet up at Kanrai tomorrow!

P6: July 19, Day

I came by Kanrai at the promised time, and Kiryu had a whole buncha kids with him. I couldn’t believe it. What the hell was this? Why’s he bringin’ the whole damn orphanage... That day, hormones flared and I couldn’t get a word out.

I’ve been busy lately and haven’t been seein’ Yasuko that often, so I went to see her today. Yasuko was runnin’ around all happy. Oh, looks like she made a friend too, playin’ with another stray cat. I dun get to do this a lot, so I wanted to name the other cat too. Okay, yer Yasuko too. Yasuko and Yasuko, they’re so buddy-buddy.

P8: July 21, Day

Today I went to the park see how Yasuko and Yasuko were doin’. They were playin’ happily together. I brought ‘em food and the first Yasuko hopped over while the other Yasuko came along to eat. Yasuko sure is a glutton.

P9: July 22, Day

I went to the park today too and there was a new cat playin’ with Yasuko and Yasuko. The hell? What is this place, some kinda stray cat joint? Anyway, I named the new cat Yasuko and fed it too.

But then Yasuko cut in and ate Yasuko’s food. Bad Yasuko, no fightin’!

P10: July 23, Day

Today I went to eat with Majima. When I told him I started writin’ in a journal, as if it weren’t enough, he laughed hard. The fuck, man. Nothin’ wrong with it.

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc Chapter 33 Translation

Happy April, everyone! Hope you’re having a good month so far. :) I went for a walk on Tuesday and got to see some nice cherry blossoms (thankfully before the wind started knocking them all off the trees!)

Here is the translation for this month’s chapter. Thank you to @meimi-haneoka as always for proofreading for me and for her help with a few tricky lines this time.

[Note: It looks like there was a spelling error in Nakayoshi this month – they spelled ダクス (Dax) as ダスク (Dusk). Google-fu confirms that Dax is spelled as ダクス in Japanese.]

Akiho:  I-I-I-I-I’m sorry!  I guessed wrong! Kaito:  Not at all. They certainly do look like duck bills.

P4 Akiho:  <blushing> I really… don’t know… anything… Akiho:  I’ll (keep) reading a lot more books! Akiho:  And I’ll remember a lot more things for sure…! Akiho:  …Kaito-san? Kaito:  Akiho-san, you’ve already committed (more than) enough to memory.

[Note:  It’s interesting to note here that Kaito’s chant has changed to include “Atropos” – one of the Three Fates in Greek Mythology. On second look at the word Tina, it’s possible that this too refers to Greek Mythology, specifically "Tinia” (Zeus).]

P7 <A portal of some kind appears to open>

P8 Kaito:  …They really never learn, do they? Kaito:  Even if the Sorcerer’s Society elites all gather together and (cast their spells), they’re weak and afraid of destroying (their) bodies… The (results) will be the same so long as (you refuse) to make use of time magic.

P9 Kaito:  (I command that time stop.)

P15 Sakura:  I can’t eat konjac jelly! Akiho:  You too, Sakura-san!? Sakura:  It’s okay! Sakura:  Even if we don’t care for konjac, the people we care for will eat ours for us. Sakura:  For me, that’s probably onii-chan. Akiho: Come to think of it, Kaito-san also likes konjac. <Text behind them reads “Yeah… we’re probably okay…”>

P17 Akiho:  It's really delicious! Sakura:  I'm glad.  I've made this several times and I tested the flavor, but I was a little bit nervous. Akiho:  It has a very mellow taste.  But I have a feeling the beef stew I ate overseas was a little different. Sakura:  There's a little bit of miso in this. Akiho:  A hidden flavor! Sakura:  It's nothing too grand, but my brother taught me how to do it. Akiho:  So everyone in your family cooks? Sakura:  Yes!  We take turns.

P18 Sakura:  When I was little, I wasn't good at making things that used a lot of oil, but I've gotten better at it since becoming a junior high student. Akiho:  You made this too? The new cards continue to increase, and Yukito's body is undergoing changes...  The two continue to wait.  Until "the time" comes to know the truth.

P1 Sakura:  Who... are you? Sakura:  Who are you?!

P2 Yukito:  Sakura-chan? Sakura:  ...Huh? Yukito:  Are you alright? Sakura:  Did I... fall asleep?

P3 Yukito:  No, but you didn't answer when we spoke to you. Sakura:  I'm sorry.  I spaced out a little bit. Sakura:  Oh, that's right!  We have some delicious bread! Touya:  ......

Teacher:  Okay, that's enough.  Thank you, Kinomoto-san. <Book reads "Japanese Language Studies"> Teacher:  In this way, the collection of stories about dreams called "Ten Nights of Dreams" are all mysterious, but depending on the (reader), one might also find them to be scary.

SxS Doujinshi Translations

@littlewolf-cherryblossom​ recently shared some really sweet SxS doujins with me, so I decided to translate them. :)  There are 7 total translations under the cut, though I am not linking to the scans in this post.

I'm not usually one to read SxS doujinshi, but the artist Kanaoto does some very lovely work.  Please check her out if you have a chance. :)  Also please note that some of these doujinshi could possibly be considered slightly NSFW (tastefully done and nothing graphic but there is some making out), so please do not read further if you wish to avoid that.

Translation Notes: ① The original Japanese was a play on words/kanji.  It literally reads "Aisho" no "ai" wa "Aijou" no "ai" dayo.  (愛称の愛は愛情の愛だよ！)  Aishou means "petname" and Aijou means "affection"; Sakura is trying to tell Yue that she only calls him "Yue-san" out of affection, but the kanji-pun is lost in translation.

P1 Narration:  Dear Li Syaoran...

P2 Sakura:  Hi, Syaoran-kun!  How are you? Sakura:  I'm a little nervous because this is the first time I'm writing you a letter like this.

P3 Sakura:  Have you gotten used to life back in Hong Kong? Sakura:  Or is saying that strange since Hong Kong is your real home?

P4 Sakura:  Since that day, I named that bear you gave me "Syaoran."  Calling him that is still a little embarrassing to me. Sakura:  <to herself>  I can't just say his name without adding -kun. <squeezes bear> Sakura:  I haven't tied a ribbon around him yet.  I'd like to do that the next time I see you.
