#in the tags bc idw derail the conversation the vid is having#it kinda links in to thoughts I've been having lately about media depicting racism#especially if it was made by white people#been thinking that us white people can become complacent bc we think we're ''educating'' ourselves by watching black trauma#when we're actually just consuming it as entertainment and patting ourselves on the back like we did something#literally been that not a week ago so and it's pretty gross#so yeah as pointed out in the vid sometimes black trauma in media just ends up catering to white people purposefully or not#bc we have the privilege of that shit being ''fictional'' for us bc its not our lived experience. We gotta stop and connect with reality.#obviously there's good black horror like she says but its aimed at black people not white people#comforts the distrubed (catharsis for poc) and disturbs the comfortable (white people)#pretty sure the white catered stuff comforts the comfortable and disturbs the disturbed#i won't pretend it's like a coherent philosophy or some shit.
