You know why I like tattoos?

It's because they're permanent.

This obviously is something most of my family and relatives hate about tattoos "why do you want to get something permanent" "when you're old and wrinkly you're going to still have the tattoos" "what if you don't like the tattoos after a few years" like shut up.

Every single tattoo I get and want to get is going to be impulsive as hell. why? Because it's what I like at that moment in time. And isn't it so beautiful that you can have a permanent record of every single thing you ever liked? Your body is a canvas of every version of you. It's the version that spoke to the moon when you were lonely and so you got a tattoo of the moon. It's the version of you that just wanted a big and pretty tattoo so you got a moth on your forearm. It's the version that likes this band, it's the version that liked that band so you got it tattooed. It's the version that sent surfing one summer so you tattooed the waves. It's the version that fell in love with a movie so you got it tattooed. It's the version that found Edgar Allen Poe's poetry so perfect you inked it into your skin forever.

Every single version of you, spread out on your body in beautiful drawings. And they're permanent. Unlike diary entries, or photographs, or posters, they will last you forever. Isn't that just beautiful?
