What fandom(s) do you write for? Right now, only Kpop, but I wouldn’t mind writing for 5SOS or some of my other fandoms!

When did you post your first piece? On WattPad, December 2015. On Tumblr, April 2018 :)

Do you write fluff/angst/crack/general/smut, combo, etc? Why? I write everything! Fluff/smut/crack is my favorite and slight angst (usually just slow burn though cus I’m soft).

Do you write OCs, X Readers, Ships...etc? Again, I write anything and everything! Currently, second or third person reader inserts are my main style, but I also do ships and would love to write more OCs.

Why did you decide to write for Tumblr? Before Tumblr, I was on WattPad for different fandoms but eventually fell off. Then, when I got into Kpop in 2017, I found that urge to write again and decided to move to Tumblr since WattPad was becoming… weird. Plus Tumblr was a better fit for me!

What inspires you to write? To be completely honest, it’s the little things throughout the day that inspire me. For example, “Honey” was inspired by me not being able to open my locker in high school. “I Hemoglobin You” was based off my friend giving me a head rub while I was donating blood. Kpop idols just so happen to be my muses that I like to put into random moments of inspiration!

What genres/AUs do you enjoy writing the most? High school or college AUs are my favorite, along with some good ol’ friends to lovers slow burn. Angst isn’t my forte so I usually just stick to fluff, smut, and some crack. I haven’t written any but fantasy AUs are some of my favorites too! (RIP to my League of Legends AU that I started and haven’t touched in months.)

What do you hope your readers take away from your work? Just like other fanfiction authors inspire me, I hope some of my work inspires others. Considering fanfiction is free, there is so much out there to read and when I find a good story that inspires ME to write better, I’d love for my writing to do the same.

What do you do when you hit a rough spot creatively? 3 options: 1) Skip that scene and jump ahead to one I’m excited to write; 2) Erase what part I’m on and completely redo it; or 3) Drop it. The majority of my works usually take a few months to write as I will completely stop working on it until I find the right inspiration again.

What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful? “Four” is definitely my favorite work. It’s one of my longer pieces and there was a lot of raw emotion in there on my end. I love the relationship between Hyunjin and the reader and especially love the ending. “Greatest Gift” for Chanyeol is my most successful, and one of my other favorites!

Who is your favorite person to write about? Easily Hwang Hyunjin. It’s so easy to place him in any of my works, and sometimes it’s a struggle to NOT write him. It sounds stupid but sometimes I really feel like I “know” him so being able to describe him physically and mentally is easy for me.

Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose? Yes and no. Yes, because most of the time, fanfiction is totally original as well and requires just as much thought as a 400,000 word novel. No, because fanfiction uses a specific person as a muse.

What do you think makes a good story? Detail and realistic dialogue! Of course, everyone has their own style of writing, but detail is especially important to me. Sure, you can have a great plot, but having concise, detailed writing to get immersed into makes a story so much better. I also find realistic dialogue to be a big deal— I hate when teenage characters are speaking in deep analogies because, if we’re being honest, my daily language is 95% just “Bruh.” If you’re like me, I’d actually prefer realistic dialogue over anything else.

What is your writing process like? Process… yikes. Sometimes… I have a random thought and then I’m like… hell yeah let’s write that. I actually have no process. I don’t outline, I just start writing and keep writing until I’m finished. Then I’ll read it all over to make edits, then I’ll use the Read Aloud feature to catch any mistakes I missed, then I’ll run it through Grammarly before posting!

Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story? Hm, maybe? In the future, possibly, but as of right now I wouldn’t use any of my fics to do so.

What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand? Oh, gosh, tropes. Gotta love them. Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, stuck together (AKA forced to share a bed), and fake relationships are my favorites. They may be corny, but I also love truth or dare or 7 minutes in heaven games in fics cus… they’re just classics. Also love fics with a popular x shy pairing. I can’t say I dislike many tropes, but I definitely have a love/hate relationship with vampire and werewolf tropes because of how romanticized they are.

How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you? Hm, to be completely honest, only a little bit? I mainly write for myself, it’s like a guilty pleasure to just get all my thoughts and desires out, and then I just so happen to make it public on Tumblr. Nevertheless, receiving comments and asks actually make my day, and sometimes I still struggle to wrap my mind around people enjoying my writing! So, thank you to everyone who has ever left me a kind message, I truly appreciate it ♥

What has been one of the biggest factors of your success (of any size)? Getting involved! I think one of the best ways to grow is to join networks, which not only gives you the opportunity to share your work on a greater scale, but also allows you to make connections. Like real life, making connections and making friendships with other writers can play a huge role in growing as a writer and growing your account.

Do you think fanfic writers get unfairly judged? Yes :( As someone who’s involved with other fandoms, I’ve heard the way some people think of fanfiction and it’s really sad. People do not know how much goes into writing and just see it as cringey and disgusting when it’s just… not.

Do you think art can be a medium for change? Yes! In all its forms, art is something a creator can use to influence their audience (in a good way, hopefully).

Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself? Like I said in #40, I mainly write for myself. Even when I’m writing a request, chances are if I like the request enough I’m going to create a story out of it that fits my personal desires the most.

Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times? No! However, I’d still consider myself a small account and do not have TOO many works posted. But so far, I don’t think I’ve faced this problem :)

Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr? Only a few! My best friend Maggie is on Tumblr with me and only 2 of my other pals know I write fanfiction.

What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers? How much I love each and every one of them for supporting me and sticking around even when I won’t post for months🥺❤️

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there? Don’t psych yourself out! In the time I’ve spent on Tumblr, I’ve never received any substantial hate. My main advice is don’t write fanfiction to get popular on the app, write fanfiction because you love to write and love your muses!

Are there any times when you regret joining Tumblr? No, as much as Tumblr can be annoying at times, I love the people I’ve met and the content I’ve found and wouldn’t have wanted to use any other platform.

What music have you discovered or listened to lately?

I’ve been listening to my Recently Added playlist on iTunes. Only “recently added” has been adjusted to include the last 28 months. lol But I did discover Blinding Lights by The Weeknd and that song’s been making me happy. Hurricane (Reimagined) by I Prevail has hit me in the Depress and next week The Used’s new album comes out so I’m waiting for that.

Currently its Star Trek TNG - because Data And One Day at a Time because that shit hits real.

It was just Star Trek and I did start watching. Interested because I wanted originally to watch ST Picard because Harry Treadaway but having never seen any ST before it didnt make sense (obvs) so I went back and started watching TNG. I didn’t want to start with the original series because honestly my attention span is garbage and I just was always curious about Data and so I started with him.

What movie(s) always comforts you?

Twister, Forrest Gump, The Lion King (1994). I’m currently wearing Lion King pjs lol. Pirate Radio is a relaxing feel good movie, too.

Are you an arts-and-crafts person? If so, what types of art/craft do you enjoy?

I try SO HARD to be lol. So far during quarantine I’ve tried crochet, I’ve tried making string bracelets as if it was 2005 and I was in 8th grade again but I forgot how to make them and my brain refuses to re-learn its too full of music, nursing school, and data now. I tried coloring and lost patience. I have been working on a Quarantine Photo-Journal. Every day I post a tiny update and a few pictures (mostly memes since i cant leave the house and several Data photos lolololol) but my printer isn’t working right all of a sudden so I can’t print out any new pictures which I guess that one project I was really enjoying is out the window.

Do you have any planned projects to work on during self-isolation? If you’ve started any and you’re willing, share a photo of what you’re working on!

Across the Universe trilogy by Beth Revis read it and fangirl with me I am so alone.

The Islander by Cynthia Rylant. I don’t know why but the first time I read it it just transported me into the middle of it and it was amazing (I was like 11) and it was so mysterious and everything. I’d like to read that one like the first time. Also Living Hell by Catherine Jinks did a similar thing

My brain hurts too much to pick a top three but I will say I am currently reading May I by @ladyfogg and it’s been giving me the squishy feels and I am loving it and ya’ll should read it. Her OC is relatable and also inspiring and I think at this point I don’t need to mention Data anymore. (But I did).

Nothing. I’m sitting here wallowing in deep loneliness and it’s killing me. It’s just my grandma and my cat and that’s why I can’t go out or work (I am a Patient Care Associate and I know the hospitals could use help but my grandma is 83 years old and it’s too high of a risk for her for me to be working in a hospital and coming home from there).

If you have pets, first of all share some photos! Second, how have you been spending your time with them?

LOLA. L-O-L-A LOLA. LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LOLA She doesn’t leave me alone. Her new trick has been LAUNCHING her 7lb body on to my back while I’m standing and pretending she’s my goddamn backpack. And earlier today she decided to pull the socks out of my sock drawer. Because she loves me.

Share your general quarantine experience so far. How are you handling it?

Bad. I often forget to take my meds, we’ve been on “spring break” from nursing school this week so I have 0 sense of time and no routine and I’ve sometimes been going to bed at 4am, sometimes 4pm, sleeping until like 9-11 regardless and I spend 95% of the day in bed. I can’t be bothered to change, sometimes can’t be bothered to really eat, and I care 0% about showering and Doing Anything. lol

I mean it’s been great guys. Ba-da-ba-ba-ba I’m lovin’ it!

I did somehow loose 2lbs without trying tho. That’s a total of 7.8lbs lost since March. Only 125 more to go BUT THE GYM IS CLOSED AND IT HAS BEEN COLD AND RAINING.

I’ll shut up.

Your take on the Lions is so deliciously creepy - I love how similar Black and Zarkon are in their obsession with and devotion to each other. We’ve made so many cool AUs, everything from Black returning to Zarkon’s side to the Voidtouched AU where she takes him as a child. I just love all the creepy, unsettling places we can go with them. And when we talk about them... gosh, it just sends chills up my spine.

@lionessofthestars - I was hella surprised when you followed me. Looking through your blog like, how did this quality writer find me?? You haven’t been as active recently, and I hope you’re doing okay. I loved talking and plotting with you, and I love how sassy your Blion is. It makes me smile to think of Blion climbing up onto Zarkon for mandatory cuddle times - and man, the pain she must feel seeing what he is now. There’s so much to explore with these two.

So an artist AND a musician? Ouah congrats, what sort of instruments do you play? I always wanted to learn playing the piano but as a kid I was more into sports, took all of my free time tbh, so I've never been creative and never made things by myself. I draw as shit, which always frustates the fuck out of me when I have to draw in anatomy classes... Not so good for someone who wants to become a physiotherapist hah! xD You said you got plans? About your music or your art? What do you intend to do exactly?

Wolf and lion are both so great I love them so much as well. Lion King will always be the number one Disney in my heart, as Spirit is the number one Dreamworks haha Oi! Is it the reason you wrote a werewolf fanfiction? Alright I admit: I've looked into your fanfics section and started reading that one before realizing I didn't have the time to do so one week before my finals, butI definitely plan on pursuing it once this hell is all over! Can't wait tbh haha Oh and I saw you were struggling writing one nowadays, so I wanted to let you know you have all my support for it, I know how hard it can be. Actually, I wanted to write you one as a Santa present, but was wondering if you had any verse you wanted to see Clexa in? Like, idk, do you want a canonverse? A modern one? Vampires? Zombies? Like, one year it's gonna be THIS band, but the next it's gonna be THAT musician, etc. Ludovico Einaudi and Hans Zimmer though, I could listen to them every day. :)

I believe we're on the same page concerning the things we hate the most lol Except for the economy probably, as I'm still dependant on my parents and don't need to have a job rn, can just focus on my studies, I'll say I'm in a good place for the moment but that's probably going to change faster than I think xD I struggle so very much with people and society, so tumblr is definitely a getaway, like I'm only following people who accept everyone as they are for who they are and I'm so happy to see so many good and kind people, but then I'm back in reality and it's like the real world is slapping me every freaking time by reminding me I'm surrounded by assholes who are so mean. Like, this weekend was my mum's and little brother's birthday so my family came to celebrate and... My grandma's words concerning "all those lying women" were: "some man are putting a hand on their arm and they're screaming rape!" which... weirded me out cause all I could think about were the numerous posts about ppl being victims of harassment, could it be sexual or not, but being traumatized by it all the same, and I was like... Well, if women can't even support each other, how can the world be a good place? idk I just... I kinda hate interacting with ppl cause I then realize they're so mean :( Not all of them of course! My cousin is great for exemple lol But yeah, I just know that she said that cause she was raised to think that men are superiors and women have to do everything for them, and oc men touching women even when they say no is not raping but it's violating their wishes all the same and I can't stand that but she can and I'm sure she had to when she was little so she thinks it's normal when it's really not and... Yeah, society sucks. And I know it's just a little exemple of what pisses me off about that problem, I mean you should have heard what my own father had to say about gay ppl and "not french ppl" but... It was the recent one lol

I love the fact you love every thing that makes the world beautiful, it's really poetic and wonderful hah! I'm kinda stuck in a period where I can't see what makes the world beautiful though so.. What I love hum.. Reading, I read so freaking much to escape reality lol I love driving too, makes me forget everything bad and gives me a feeling of freedom. Listening to music and running, although I'm not running anymore, don't have time because of all that studying --'

tell me about your development of caspian over the years PLS!!

OOC. WOW i am excited to share this because there’s been a lot. To start off, lets go back to his actual creation. Caspian has been around for ALMOST as long as I have been rp’ing on tumblr. He was originally created as an actual tiger. Yup. You heard that right, a tiger. Fur and stripes and claws and everything. He was originally an OC that belonged to the Lion King/Disney fandom but after I realized I didn’t want to be in that fandom anymore, I took him to a fandomless tiger OC.

After about 4 months of playing this tiger (who at the time was NOTHING like Caspian Bengal), this was back when M!A’s were still a huge thing and I got an M!A that said to turn Caspian into a human. I did a lot more than that. I created a verse in which Caspian was a human, and the moment he was created I knew he was going to be a loner. I wanted him to be set in India, because that’s where tiger Caspian had been so thats how it went. Poor village on the outskirts of a jungle where he visited tigers a lot. From there it just kept growing… Literally.

If you look at my Verse’s page you’ll see a total of 6 canon verses. Each verse (with the exception of the first two) is a verse that has been added to Caspian for each year after his creation. It’s like a birthday present really. One new verse for every year on this blog. 2011 was the creation of his first 2 verses: Cursed Son & American Noise. These developed with the help of some really close friends ( @caiitkat / @shroudeddefiiance ) and i ended up having a verse for Caspian as a child living in india (at the time he didn’t come to america until he was 18 –– but this QUICKLY changed) and an adult in America. Literally he has grown from a child muse (6-18) into a muse that has a full life course and an afterlife. He’s been extensively developed in case you haven’t noticed.

Now that stuff is mostly on the surface, so lets talk about the development of his personality and heart. Originally, I wanted to keep the grumpy nature of Tiger Caspian when I first started. So Caspian when he was a boy was this grumpy, ill tempered, and quiet boy who didn’t want anything to do with anyone. At the time, he was still being severely abused, but it manifested differently. This attitude carried into his verse of when he came to america as well. But, as most of you know, muses have their own way of telling you who they are.

Soon, child Caspian became a very broken and sheltered individual. I wanted to keep Tiger Cas and Caspian Bengal the same characterization but Caspian Bengal wasn’t having any of that! He became sweet and soft and gentle and scared most of the time. However, he remained cold and harsh in High school, which I determined was a result of the massive changes coming to America would have on him. Deep down however, I still felt his pulling me towards letting him be emotional and sensitive.

After high school, Caspian really came into his own. The development of the later time in the American Noise verse was amazing. He wasn’t harsh or grumpy. He was soft and determined and sweet. I didn’t plan on him being anything more than a broken boy in India and suddenly here is this muse who’s telling me he wants nothing more than to help people. Help big cats and people and I just kind of let him. He just kept growing, and the older he gets the more confident he gets and it’s quite unreal. Really it’s incredible for me to have such a complex muse under my belt.

He had so much emotion that while the Philanthropist side of him was the first part of his adult life to be developed, he was also pulling a lot towards expression of the self. Music had always been m passion, and during Caspian’s creation I was on a huge rock kick and so Skillet just kind of became his VC and band-claim.

Caspian transformed from a grumpy, old tiger to an angry boy, to the soft and sweet natured creature you have today. His development is constant!!!! It never stops and I’m always learning new things and putting my heart and soul into it. My bookshelf is covered in Indian texts about Indian philosophy and structure and religion. I have poured myself into this muse because I swear to god he basically created himself and all I’m trying to do is make sure he gets represented properly.

He’s come really, really far. Like SUPER far and its hard to sum up all the things thats changed him over the years in one ask by God Damn theres been a lot. like A LOT. So much of it was unexpected and occurred organically that idek if I can really take credit for it in a way. He just kind of gave me this feel for him, and I helped bring it to life.

My Top Ten Favorite Fics

I was inspired by this post by @ justkeeponthegrass to do this. Believe me, this was hard. I have read so many amazing fics by so many talented authors that it was hard to pick just ten. I’m doing this because I’m a writer, and I want to spread the love to other writers. These fics have been inspiring me since I first started writing when I was fourteen, and I wanted to share them.

Into the West by electrum (Chronicles of Narnia, T) (multi-chapter on ff.net) This is probably my favorite fic I have ever read (along with its companion They Also Serve). I actually go back and re-read this in full every once in awhile, just because it’s that good. Seriously, it’s practically canon in my mind. If you like tales of adventures and family and heroes saving the day, this is the fic for you. A year after LWW, a curse Jadis put on Edmund is awoken. Peter and Philip must venture to the Garden in the West to retrieve the only means of saving Edmund. A lot of it is based on The Magician’s Nephew, which gives it a base in canon while still being AU. I love elecktrum’s writing because they put the effort into making Cair Paravel realistic with original characters, places, and even Narnian months and traditions. All of elecktrum’s stories are connected, so they all take place in the same Narnian universe. If I could, I would put them all here--I have read all of elecktrum’s stories and I have never been disappointed.

Counted Among the Traitors by WillowDryad (Chronicles of Narnia, T) (multi-chapter on ff.net) This was one of the very first fanfics I read and fell in love with. Four months into the Golden Age, Peter’s trust in Edmund is shaken. It is up to Edmund to uncover the truth before Peter is gone forever. This story is well-written and full of angst and family.

The Lion and the Fox by Rayven49 (Chronicles of Narnia, T) (multi-chapter on ff.net) LWW, as told by Peter and Edmund. This story details how Edmund changed from a bratty little boy to Just King. I love how it really shows how Edmund and Peter are very different, but their differences are what makes them work. The whole thing is based around a Machiavelli quote, which makes it all the more interesting. I love how this story explores Peter and Edmund’s relationship and how it grows and changes throughout LWW.

Straight Camp by foraworldundeserving (Glee, high T) (multi-chapter on ff.net) Told from the POV of Nick and Jeff (the Warblers) as they are sent to Wildwood Springs Health Camp with Blaine. I love this story because it explores Nick and Jeff, who really didn’t get a lot of attention on the show. The OCs Scott and James are some of my favorite OCs ever, and the writing is just incredible.Sarah does an amazing job of fleshing-out Jeff and Nick and giving them the sweetest, most believable relationship. I will warn that this is an incredibly sad story, though it does have a happy ending.

We’ve Got Tonight by katjandante (Glee, T) (multi-chapter on ff.net) I remember crying so much when I read this for the first time--and every time after that. Kurt, Blaine, New Directions, and the Hudmels come together to remember Finn and mourn his death. Now I know there are a lot of fics about Finn’s death out there, but this one was different (at least for me). It gave me closure in a way that many other fics didn’t, and it was so easy to connect with the characters’ struggles as they mourn Finn and process his death.

Look Beyond What You See by hachoo (Harry Potter, K+) (multi-chapter on ff.net) Deathly Hallows from the point of view of Fred and George. There is more to George’s ear injury than meets the eye, and Fred and George have to learn how to cope with the side effects of George’s missing ear. There’s hurt/comfort, angst, family, and insight into both Fred and George’s thoughts about the war. I remember sobbing my way through the end of this--it somehow made Fred’s death that much sadder.

He Will Have Powers the Dark Lord Knows Not by dirgewithoutmusic aka @ink-splotch (Harry Potter, one-shot on AO3) I discovered this on Tumblr through someone else’s fic review and I have loved it ever since. Details what might have happened if Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, had been born a Squib. This is the single best Harry Potter fan fiction I have ever read. The characterization, the plot, everything is so well-done and just works perfectly. I loved it because Harry as a Squib isn’t something that people really think about, and it was really cool to read about how that might have changed the story and especially what other people think of the Boy Who Lived. This story explores the nature of magic--how it can be both inherent and earned through hard work and studying, and how you don’t have to have magic to be a hero. I also highly recommend all of dirgewithoutmusic’s work.

The Winchester Three by insearchofcheez (Supernatural, T) (multi-chapter on ff.net) Follows the end of S1 (and beyond, as there are two more parts), but this time Sam and Dean are joined by their younger sister Laney. Laney is probably my favorite OC ever--I love her as a character and I love how she and the boys interact. This story has hurt/comfort, drama, angst, family, and everything in between. I love it because it sticks to canon, but many details are different because of Laney, who has special abilities of her own. It doesn’t quite read like an AU, though--it reads like it could be canon. I have reread this and the other two parts several times, and they never get boring.

Trialculosis Sam by Alex L. Kerr (Supernatural, T) (multi-chapter on ff.net) The long, drawn-out, AU version of Sam taking on the Trials. Set after the second Trial, this story follows Sam and Dean (and later Kevin) as they struggle to come to terms with Sam’s impending death and try to alleviate the effects of the Trials. There is family, some angst, and a ton of hurt/comfort--it is everything you’d want from a brotherly bonding story. I don’t know if this will ever be finished, but it’s still worth reading.

Frostbite by Sam.J.Eller (Supernatural, T) (multi-chapter on ff.net) AU, details Sam’s struggle with nerve damage after getting frostbite at 14. Set in S1 with pre-series flashbacks, this story is full of brotherly bonding and action as Sam and Dean work a case. I love the flashbacks and brotherly bonding that’s all in character and canon-compliant. I love all of Sam.J.Eller’s work, so I recommend all of them.
