ohh gideon does own a prosthetic and it was designed by dagna and it works using telekinesis/some adaptation of force magic. it was extremely frustrating to learn how to use and it still is less intuitive than learning to do things with his elbow.

but he went to tevinter with dorian to learn how to use it. he also isnt very good at magic so it was just a Lot.

he uses it for inquisition/formal events. its painted in green swirls reminiscent of the mark.

95% of the time he is no prosthetic though

#ch: gideon trevelyan #i watched like a bunch of videos of upper body amputees to figure out my take for gideon #and most of them said even the best prosthetics are worse than just adapting #just bc the hand and fingers are so tactile especially when it comes to pressure #and also prosthetics have a huge learning curve and most said they only ever dropped things or had issues when using prosthetics #fantasy world obviously has magic but I still decided to go with the take that prosthetics arent Too advanced
