Recently I've been reading the Kith and Kin series by AnAppleofDiscord and it's really got me interested in the Kirkland brothers, so I've been building a few headcanons. I want to do this for all the characters in Interconnected 'verse just so I can have everything straight when/if I write.
One point - I split Nations' ages into 'legal' and 'physical' age. This is something I think they probably do, especially when they're staying in one place or working with humans who don't know who they are. Sometimes it's something they do as a result of societal norms - a 40 year old working in government will have more respect than a 30 year old, for example.
Alwyn Kirkland (Wales) — legally 42 years old, physically around 30-35 years old. The oldest Kirkland brother, and the shortest at 5'9/175cm. Thin, and less physical than his brothers. More reliant on spell work and is an expert in defensive spells. He has strawberry blonde hair and brown eyes. He's the plainest looking out of all the brothers, though is still quite handsome, especially when he smiles.
He is very quiet to the point of seeming cold, and tends to be above his brothers' quarrels. He's the best at diplomacy and has impeccable manners. However, he holds grudges the longest and is generally uninterested in the rest of the world. He tends to take England's side in all official matters, which makes both Scotland and Northern Ireland trust him less. He's an expert harpist and has a beautiful voice, the latter which he uses to strengthen his spell work.
Alisdair Kirkland (Scotland) — legally 40 years old, physically around 30-35. Second-born Kirkland brother. 6'7/200cm and built like a brick house. Very physical, and a lot of his magic doesn't require verbal incantations but certain body movements. Dark auburn hair, green eyes. Handsome, but in a rougher way that the high society circles he's forced to mingle with turn their nose up at. As a result, he thinks he's unattractive.
Abrasive and brutally honest, but also easy-going and with a great sense of humour. He's also not easily offended, and is therefore great for banter, but he has a resting bitch face that intimidates people who don't know him. He took care of England as a child and they're the most alike in temperament, and therefore fight the most. He has a soft spot for children - especially the naughty ones. He shows obvious favouritism towards America among England's ex-colonies. Takes rugby and football very seriously.
Aidan Kirkland (Northern Ireland) — legally 38 years old, physically 30-35. Third Kirkland brother. 6'0/182cm, willowy. Best at long range spells and the bow and arrow, as well as sprinting. Fiery red hair and brown eyes - more delicate featured than his other brothers, earning him the nickname "pretty boy" (Scotland). Warm, and the most in touch with his feelings. Great at telling stories. He has the most human friends out of all his siblings.

"Oi, oi oi oi, girls, girls, there's enough of me t'go around-!" Jamie laughs as they start shouting questions at him, trying to speak over each other. Teagan is so like her dad, Jamie can see it on her face the minute she starts to get annoyed with her sister. His goddaughter, it's still absolutely mind-blowing to him that he has a goddaughter, that she's grown to be this big in their time apart. "How about this, you lot go back to your games, we'll have a little kickabout when I'm done talking to your mummy, and then you can ask me anything and everything you wanna know, alright?" He ruffles both of their hair - it's imperative that the kickabout comes first, just to wear them both down, so that there won't be any actual fights between the girls over his attention. He shoos them off, smiling as they run down the hall together. "Good kids," he comments, affection clear in every inch of his face.
He hugs Sinéad back, closing his eyes, taking a deep breath in. She still smells the same as she did before the O'Garas moved away; a smell he's missed so badly. Fuck, has it really been just under two years since he last sat in an O'Gara house, since he last enjoyed the comfort of their presence, their cooking, their love? FaceTime calls just aren't enough. Jamie would have to get them back to England this season, if only for a match. Sin is so much like Georgie, the way she takes his face in her hands and looks for signs of strife; Georgie does the same thing every time they see each other after time apart. He gives her a genuine smile; he's delighted to see her. She nods, and he can tell she's satisfied. She can see that he's happy - genuinely happy, not just putting on the façade of happiness for her benefit. Leaving his bag in the entryway, he follows her further into the house. "There're two kids under eleven in this house, this is practically pristine," he reassures her. As long as he can move around - which he can - he doesn't care about a mess. Taking a seat at the table, Jamie smirks playfully. "What's your husband gonna do, make me run laps for flirting with his wife?" He shakes his head fondly. Paddy's not going to do anything, and, even if he does, it can't be worse than half of the things Roy's put him through this season. How Jamie ended up with two mentors with dark hair, beards, reputations for being some of football's last great hard men, and 10 Premier League wins [ plus one Champions League win ] between the two of them, he has no idea. But he's the luckiest man in the world, he's sure of it. She asks about the journey, and Jamie groans playfully - it had been dreadful, but he doesn't want to complain too much. He'll make a joke of it. "Fuckin' awful, Sin, it were fucking awful. But you've got my sexy face here now, so I think it was worth it, yeah?" Pulling one leg up onto the chair beside him, Jamie props his chin on his knee, grinning at her. "I'm good. I'm, like. Really, really fucking good, actually." It's not the dismissal good he'd given plenty of people before, it's not the exaggerated fucking great he always used as a lie when he felt like shit. He's genuinely happy.
"We got second in the Premier League this year, some..." Jamie makes a noise, false confusion, "team from the north beat us...? Dunno if you've heard of 'em before, Men... Man... Mum..." He snaps his fingers playfully as if trying to recall the name before giving up the bit. "I'm sure you lot celebrated like it were fucking... the death of the queen, though." He's not sure if Paddy and Sinéad still keep up with Man City, genuinely - they talk less about football these days and more about themselves as people. Retirement. What a weird, funny thing. "I'd apologise for the Etihad match, but I ain't actually sorry about that - anyways," he waves a hand as to say I'm moving on from football now, except he very much isn't moving on from football. "Made m'England debut, that was fucking massive, got a couple caps to m'name now. Scored a goal, a very sexy goal." He winks at her, reaching his hand for the water that she's got for him. "Mummy's good. Just went on a brand trip for fucking Nike to fucking Brazil - so the flight here were, like, nothing compared to that flight there'n back. Look out for that commercial, yeah? Roy Kent doesn't hate me anymore, Keeley - y'know of Keeley - she'n me are..." he's not sure how to word it. "We're good, actually, we kind of... fixed things in Brazil, I'm still waiting on news of our new gaffer - hopefully he ain't a wanker - and, erm... did I mention the England debut?"
it’s hard to believe that once upon a time,  in the very early days of the o’gara & tartt friendship,  sinéad would sometimes get tired of seeing jamie appear on their doorstep  —  with éire still very young,  she was often exhausted by the time jamie turned up,  and the peace and quiet went somewhat out the window  —  though she would never once turn him away.   he was just a wee boy,  and paddy had clearly left an impression on him,  one that must have made jamie feel like their home was a safe place for him.   and isn’t that what everybody wants their home to feel like?   now was a different story though.   she actually had days of feeling like their home was off-kilter,  like something was missing…   it’s not until jamie steps foot into their home that it clicks together in her mind.   she might have once been annoyed,  but now she was nothing but overjoyed to see him back with them again.
the girls are chattering away in jamie’s arms,  trying to tell him all the things inside their little heads and ask him a bazillion questions,  voices getting louder as they fight for his attention.   sinéad can see what’s about to happen;   teagan,  still not quite understanding she can’t just lash out when she was upset,  was about to hit éire and tell her to shut up,  and both girls would start bawling.   still,  sinéad had seen more drama on a pitch that she ever had between her two girls.   but thankfully,  the lad puts them both down and shoos them off,  and their mother is able to sigh as they dodged that chaos.     “  go on !   jamie’ll come play when we’re done catching up.   don’t be too loud,  you’ll scare t’chicks !  ”     they would be a handful later,  overtired from the excitement of him visiting,  but that would be something paddy could deal with when he puts them to bed.     “  if i told y’that,  i’d have to kill you,  ”     she jokes back when he asks if she had missed him too,  wrapping her arms tightly around him and pressing an affectionate kiss to his cheek.   he’s as much as her lad as her daughters were her babies.   taking his face in her hands quickly,  she can’t help but take a second to seriously look at him,  checking for any signs of troubles  —  but there’s genuine happiness riddled into every corner of his expression,  which sinéád mirrors with a fond smile of her own,  before she nods and leads him further inside.     “  oh,  come off it,  you charming prick,  i’m a married woman y'know.   sit yourself anywhere, ignore t'mess.  ”   she vaguely gestures to the table she had previously been sitting at and then to the sofas,  busying herself in the kitchen as she grabs him a drink.     “  how was the journey?   not too rough,  was it?  ”     paddy had mentioned something about jamie not being a fond flyer;   sinéád was the complete opposite,  more than happy to just sit and read for a couple hours.   making herself a brew at the same time,  she leans against the kitchen island until the kettle had finished boiling,  fixing the lad with a singular raised brow.     “  —and how're you doin’?  ”

Lois was more than just someone you practised singing with on the weekends at this point - she and Connie had quickly become your best friends. Even if they had known each other since childhood, they had welcomed you as a friend and made your move to Manchester earlier in the year that much easier.
You were staying with your cousin, having relocated in England after graduating from university in a move considered unusual by the rest of your family, who remained abroad.
At the end of one such practice, Lois suddenly appeared to be struck by a realisation. “You've never been ‘round my place before, have you?” she asked. You shook your head.
“No, I donʼt think so.”
“Great!” she smiled. “I'm sure my dad wonʼt mind the company. Are you coming too, Connie?”
Connie shuffled her sheet music, a shy smile suddenly gracing her features. “Sorry, no can do,” she said. “I'm meeting Eddie today. Actually, he's… waiting outside, to pick me up.”
Connie and Eddie were practically stepping out by now, although neither of them had actually gotten around to admitting their obvious feelings for each other yet. Both you and Lois had been reassuring Connie that her feelings were returned for a long time, although it was anyone's guess as to when something would happen.
“Go on, then,” you grinned, with a knowing glance towards Lois. A flustered Connie smiled her thanks as she shouldered her bag and bid the two of you goodbye.
~~
The walk back to Loisʼ house was spent mostly making sure you kept in mind everything your friend was telling you.
“My dad, you don't need to worry about him,” said Lois. “He's lovely, and he'll definitely like you. To be fair, he likes most people, but you're really nice. He'll love having you over… if you'll come ‘round again. He's not very well today.”
You nodded, exhaling slightly. After all Lois had told you about him in the past, you felt more relaxed. “Oh, that's awful. Tell him I hope he gets better soon.”
“‘Course I will. My brother, though,” Lois continued, looking sideways at you, “he's a bit of a loose end. Either he'll like you a lot or he won't be able to stand you, there's no in between with him. You'll find out either way pretty quickly.”
She had mentioned her brother, Tom, a fair few times in the past too - mostly to complain about him. He had either said something to get on her nerves, or had the police after him and spent another night in a jail cell… you could go on. So a loose end sounded like a massive understatement, especially after all you had heard from her.
“Well, then, I hope he likes me,” you said.
Lois snorted. “No, you don't.”
You gave her a questioning look.
“He'll flirt with anything that moves,” she explained, “unless he hates you. Or you're lucky and your name's Connie, ‘cos even he wants to know when she's gonna start going out with Eddie properly.”
The conversation shifted back to the topic of Connie and Eddie after that, all the way up until you reached Loisʼ doorstep. “Do they know I'm coming over?” you asked.
“Good point,” Lois said thoughtfully as she unlocked the door. Immediately she called up the stairs, informing Douglas that you were also there, while you awkwardly hovered by the door.
While Douglas asked her why Connie had not accompanied you both this time, a young man slipped past her into the kitchen.
“You're Lois’ mate?” he asked, about to light up a cigarette. After a moment, he frowned and put it down, and you realised then that your brows had furrowed slightly.
“Yes, that's me,” you said finally.
You weren't sure whether to be relieved or dismayed when he started to smile - well, smirk if you were going to be honest.
“‘S nice to meet you,” he said eventually.
Thankfully, Lois returned just in time to shoo him away. “No,” she said firmly, “you’re not going to annoy her into leaving already.”
“Oh, come on, Lois, I was just saying hi,” he protested. However, it was clear that his sister was not having any of it.
“Yeah, and it’d better stay that way,” she snapped, striding across the kitchen to the counter. “D’you want a cup of tea?” she asked you, far more pleasantly this time.
Dimly you said yes, remembering why she was so cross with him - only the night before, the police had carted Tom back to the jail cell she felt had been designated for him at this point, this time for loitering. Tom had apparently sworn up and down that he had done nothing wrong, although his previous track record stated otherwise.
At least it wasn’t bad enough to land him a month or two in jail and a court order, she had supposed. You were unsure whether to feel bad for him or not, but you certainly felt for Lois.
“Thank you,” you smiled, taking the cup from her hands. It was nearly as scalding as the look she promptly gave her brother upon seeing he was still in the room.
“It’s a free country!” Tom said, raising his hands in surrender. “So,” he added, turning to you, “you've only been here a couple months, right? How're you finding it so far?”
Lois sat down beside you, shaking her head.
“Itʼs - um, itʼs quite nice, I suppose,” you said a little awkwardly. You never really were any good at small talk.
“You stepping out with anyone yet?” Tom continued rather brazenly.
Lois scoffed at him.
“Didnʼt waste a minute, there, did you?” she muttered.
You shook your head. “No. Why?”
“Just wondered,” he mumbled, but not even a smack on the arm from his sister could wipe the smirk off his face. Unsure what to make of that, you returned to your tea with a frown.
After several more dirty looks from his sister, Tom conceded an apology for what had transpired the night before and tactfully decided to head out for a little while. Although she was no longer as annoyed with him as she had been before, she certainly made no attempt to stop him.
As he made his way to the door, he paused by your seat for a moment. “I’ll see you ‘round here again, won’t I?” he asked, the now-familiar mirth returning to his eyes.
“I suppose so, probably,” you replied with a shrug.
“Good to know,” he grinned, before ducking out under the door. Lois rolled her eyes to the heavens as soon as the door slammed shut behind him.
“I’m starting to feel bad for you,” she commented.
“Me?” you asked. “Why? I feel quite bad for you.”
“‘Cos I think he’s taken a serious liking to you,” she said in a low voice. To her surprise, you laughed.
“As if,” you snorted, “we’ve hardly spoken more than five words to each other. I think you’re just saying that ‘cause you’re angry with him.”
She eyed you over the rim of her own mug. “If anyone knows what that arse is thinking, it’s me,” she pointed out. “If I think he fancies you, he fancies you.”
You only scoffed at that. “Mm, and when you catch him actually chatting someone else up, you’ll know you read too much into this.”
“Whatever you say.”
~~
A week later, the three of you - that is, Lois and Connie, not Tom - met up once again. All you were interested in was whether Connie and Eddie had put a name on what it was they clearly had, but Lois' interest - and indeed Connie's - had shifted towards… you.
“What are you looking at me like that for?” you asked, narrowing your eyes at the pair of them. They shared a mischievous look before Connie answered.
“There's someone outside waiting for you,” she grinned.
You scoffed. “Yeah, I'm sure Eddie's waiting for me and not you.”
“Not Eddie!” she said, lightly pushing your shoulder. “Loisʼ brother.”
Looking from her to Lois and back again, it slowly dawned on you that this might not be a joke. “If you two aren't messing with me then he's probably here for Lois,” you said reasonably, although you couldn't help but peer out of the window. This was stupid, you knew Lois never got picked up by-
“Tom?” you exclaimed. “What's he doing over there?”
“Why don't you go out and ask him?” Lois suggested dryly, to which you responded with a suspicious look.
“Am I missing something?”
“Yeah, the obvious,” snorted Connie.
Resolved to find out whatever it was that was making your friends so smug, you decided to take Lois' advice and go outside.
“I didn't take you for the singing type,” you commented, pulling Tom's attention away from the ground.
“Ha, ha,” he said, a slight grin sliding onto his face. “‘Course I am.”
“What are you doing here?” you asked, diverting back to the point.
Tom shuffled with an uncharacteristic awkwardness about him, his hands in his pockets. “Er, well, I was gonna-”
He stopped suddenly, glaring at a spot behind you.
“What's wrong?”
But your question was promptly answered by a round of giggles from the door. Tom rolled his eyes and beckoned you away from the entrance, giving you just enough time to send a look over your shoulder that clearly warned them to shut. Up.
Lois and Connie responded with waves, still laughing as they retreated inside.
“Um,” you said eventually, breaking the awkward silence that had fallen afterwards, “what was it you were saying?”
“Yeah, er… that,” Tom said, looking down again. “Look, I was wondering if you… if you're gonna be staying here for a while, or…?”
You smiled. “That's what you wanted to know?”
Although he nodded, you felt he didn't look very sure of himself, but it could easily have been a figment of your imagination. “Yeah.”
“I am, yeah,” you answered. What seemed to be relief washed over his face.
“Great,” he said, his familiar grin returning to his face. “That's - no, yeah, I was only asking ‘cos I thought you were leaving soon or ‘summat.”
“What gave you that idea?” you laughed. “Did Lois say that?”
“Nah, nah,” he said quickly, “I just - I ‘dunno. Well, yeah, that's… good to know.”
You nodded, folding your arms across your chest - you had never felt more awkward in your life, and it seemed neither had he, but it felt endearing, almost.
“Well,” he said finally, “d'you want me to walk you home? I know you're meant to be leaving ‘round about now anyway.”
You looked back towards the door, and he immediately backtracked. “But it's alright if you wanna stay here, I-”
“That would be really nice,” you smiled, cutting across him. “Thank you, Tom.”
The smile he gave you felt rewarding, enough that you could almost forget all the trouble he'd consistently get himself into. At that moment, at least, he was as sweet as anything.
~~
The journey to your home was rather short, but you found yourself enjoying it so much that when you got there, you felt a little disappointed it was over.
“D'you wanna come ‘round again tomorrow?” Tom offered. “Dad wasn't very well last week, and he said he wished he got to meet you, ‘cos from the sounds of it you're really nice. Did Lois say?”
Pleasantly surprised, you shook your head. “No, I don't think so,” you said, feeling your cheeks warming. “I'd love to, if that's alright.”
“Well I mean, I did offer, so…”
“Oh, shut up!”
Tom unsuccessfully dodged the light smack on his arm, laughing nonetheless. “How many of these am I gonna be getting?”
You grinned. “As if you don't deserve them.”
“Yeah, I s'pose you're right,” he conceded, still laughing slightly. “So I'll see you, yeah?”
“Yeah. Bye, Tom.”
“Bye, Y/N.”
You waved him off at your doorstep with a soft smile as you watched him round the corner and leave.
~~
As promised, you visited the next day. And the day after that. And the day after that. Soon enough, you became almost part of the family with how often you visited the Bennetts, either alongside Lois or at the invitation of Tom. As Lois had predicted, Douglas liked you a lot. She always said it was because he thought that since Tom liked you, you were a positive influence on him, but you brushed that off every time - that couldn't be true.
Could it?
After a few months, you and Tom were practically as close friends as you were with Lois. He liked asking you out for walks, which was how you spent most of your time together. Neither you nor Douglas minded - they were much better than wasting time at home doing next to nothing during the days Lois and Connie weren't free, and Douglas was keen to keep his son out of trouble. It worked out perfectly.
On one of these walks, you felt compelled to bring up something that had been plaguing your mind for a while. “I talked to my cousin last night,” you began. “She's thinking of moving back home soon.”
“Will you get to keep the place?” asked Tom.
You winced. “That's the thing. I don't know whether to stay at all or just… go back with her. I have a job but it's nothing I can't find at home…”
When you were greeted with nothing but silence, you realised Tom had stopped walking altogether. The smile from earlier had been totally wiped from his face. “D'you want to leave?” he asked quietly.
“I don't know,” you admitted. “But I need to decide soon.”
You had never seen Tom look so dejected, and the urge to stay felt even stronger.
“It'll be alright,” he said eventually, “whatever you choose. I am gonna miss you, though. I'll miss you a lot.”
“Me too,” you said sadly. “It'd be so easy for me to just stay if my family wasn't over there too, and I haven't seen them for ages. I can't afford to go over and visit all the time. I don't know how I'll be able to stay so far away all on my own for even longer-”
“You won't be on your own,” Tom said quickly. “I'll be there, won't I? Me and Lois and your mates, we'll help you out if you decide to stay. ‘Course it's alright if you do go,” he added, flushing, “but… y'know. Maybe they could visit you, if you like. Either way, we'll… we'll work ‘summat out, I promise.”
You smiled, reaching out to squeeze his hand briefly. “Thank you, Tom.”
~~
A decision was finally reached after a week of deliberation, and you decided to break the news to Tom whilst the two of you were seated together on the local park bench. You had been dreading this conversation the most for reasons you couldn't understand, but it had to be done.
“I think I'm gonna go home,” you said quietly, unable to meet his eye. As you had imagined, you didn't receive a response for several moments, until finally he said your name and you looked up.
“You're leaving?” he murmured, the heartbreak in his eyes almost too much for you to bear. Wordlessly, you nodded. Letting him take your hand, the two of you sat together in silence for a while. The lump in your throat tightened as you thought about the look on his face.
“I haven't told anyone else yet,” you admitted later. “I haven't even told my cousin yet, or arranged anything. I just wanted to tell you first.”
Tom met your gaze with a wistful smile. “Is it too late, then?”
“Too late for what?” you asked.
“To tell you the truth,” he said softly. “Lois said I should've done it ages ago and she's right, ‘cos this is horrible timing-”
“What is it?” you pressed, overcome suddenly with impatience.
“I fancy you,” he blurted out. “I- yeah. That's it, I… I really fancy you.”
You stared at him as his words sunk in, and suddenly your reluctance to tell him your decision, the quickening of your heartbeat, it all made sense. Your grip on his hand absent-mindedly loosened a little as the initial shock passed over. As that happened, Tom suddenly seemed aware of what he had just said and tore his gaze away, looking uncharacteristically embarrassed.
“Sorry,” he said quickly, “That weren't fair, I shouldn't'a dumped that on you-”
“How long have you liked me for?” you asked, suddenly more curious than anything. You had to make sure that this was all real and not a dream.
“Honestly?” he asked. You nodded quickly. “Since the day I met you. You're easily the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my life. That's why I went to meet you where Eddie always meets Connie, y'know. I had to get an excuse to talk to you, alone. Well. Alone-ish.”
You could not fight the bashful smile on your face, your stomach full of butterflies. “You think?” you asked, your voice little more than a whisper.
“Easily,” he repeated. “You could be a movie star with your looks, and I'm not just saying it to impress you. And then I got to know you properly, and I just ended up liking you even more,” he continued, “‘cos you're kind and you're funny and you've got a quick word for everything that I say. That's why I was so cut up when I found out you might be leaving.”
You were lost for words. You almost felt like an idiot sitting there and saying nothing, with only a large smile on your face. “Oh, Tom,” you said finally, just as he took your hand again.
“You never gave me an answer,” he reminded you with an easy smile. “D'you like me back?”
“No,” you joked. “Kidding. I do, of course I do!”
“Well, that's just fine then, in't it?” he smiled, reaching over to cup your cheek. “So I hope you won't mind if I-”
You cut him off, leaning over to kiss him softly. “If you…?” you grinned.
Tom only chuckled at that, before bringing you down into another, deeper kiss.
It looked like you would be staying in England after all.

💖 How do they say ‘I love you’ without really saying it? (From a prince, locked in a castle)
Soft Sundays || Accepting
Soon it will be too cold to spend time outside and his already limited freedom will be curbed further still. She will make him gardens of little paper flowers if they'll let her. Put them up in the day room for everyone to enjoy but the butterflies? They will all belong to her castle-bound Prince. Beth knows he isn't, really, a prince. But sometimes the stories they tell themselves and the masks they choose to wear or ornately paint for others makes things bearable. Maybe because she's been in places like these herself. She hasn't ever told Ron that this is why Andy decided to become a thought-doctor rather than a body one. He's convinced he can fix her and tries to help others like her.
She takes Ron's wide paw in her own much smaller hand, his back to her palm and cups it a little. She's seen fortune tellers do that kind of thing, examining lines and bumps and all kinds of things to tell futures but Beth isn't exactly interested in doing so. Sometimes it's better to hold on to hope than to know for sure. What she does do is put a couple of little silver-wrapped bell like objects in the space she's made and then carefully folds his fingers over the top. A conspiratorial glance around and she leans into him, lips a hair's breadth below his ear-lobe. "I brought you some Kisses," she says softly. The words are laced through with an untarnished innocence but also with a timorous sort of sensuality. "All'a way from 'Merica. Not as good as what you got here, mebbe, in England." The verbal equivalent of a sudden frown. "An' mebbe a lil melted cause dey were in my pocket, but I promise...still good."
She pulls back and beams a smile as bright as sunshine itself, the little points of her teeth unhidden, the start of her nose where it meets the corners of her eyes crinkling. This is a rare smile. One that isn't hidden or subdued. No one here to tell her it's unseemly or that it's horrifying to others. And when it fades, she carefully returns her hands to her lap. They itch to remain on his forearm. To trek the no-man's-land of inches between them and maybe rest on his thigh. Perhaps press her cheek into his chest if he'd put his arm around her and breath him in. Share warmth between them as he likely doesn't get to do very often. She has to be very careful. One look at Beth and anyone could see that she's become infatuated with the gentleman Prince. What crimes he's done to land in a prison doesn't seem to register to her or she doesn't think him capable of such things. The yawning chasm of age between them is also not a factor she considers. She only really knows how much like her he is and that finding someone who doesn't need long confessions and picking apart feelings and thoughts until they become ephemeral before disappearing entirely is a mercy. Ron Kray is a gift.
She doesn't say she loves him ~she does, she does, she does~ because she also listens to him. The things he says and those he doesn't. She swims through his mud and dances in his clarity and she is dear, his little pal, his little friend, his little, little, little not soul. And if Andy really saw her, he wouldn't let her come back. If Andy saw, he'd think maybe the wicked step mothers and step fathers were right. That they would give Ron more Emptiness. Spells no kisses or wishes could make right, so powerful they would be. So she keeps that to herself. She spends her time with him in gratitude. She works puzzles with him even if the words are confusing or move on their own or come too fast like rivers if they come at all. She brings him gifts great and small. And she believes with the wholest of her heart that maybe some day and upon a time, he'll hear her words anyway.
She unwinds her scarf and drapes the purple and gold fabric around his shoulders. "Andy says dey gonna have a Christmas tree dis year. You wanna put a star or angel on it?"

A huge party was taking place in Mallorca, with the famous rock band Queen being the main guests of the event. You were one of the bartenders so all you had to do that night was fixing drinks for every person until they'd be shitfaced. The preparations were ready: the event was hosted at the beachside, opposite the calm waves and the golden sand. The sunset was magical to stare at, ready to welcome the bright moon. You had a moment to appreciate it before guests would come at any moment. It was the only thing that reminded you of your ex without feeling angsty about it; you gotta admit you didn't break up with good terms. It was toxic, yet heartbreaking. You loved that man but he left after cheating on you. It's been half a year and you needed to give yourself a break from dating and making out regardless of how social your job is and how much flirt you've received.
The guests arrived, minute by minute they'd get from fifty to hundred. Many people were coming to your counter to order drinks and cocktails. Beautiful women and attractive men would try to flirt with you but turned them down politely saying while you're working you can't do otherwise so they respected it. All these people were actually invited by Queen, their management and the entire record company. They were all celebrating Queen's "A Day At The Races" success and certainly the band which were yet to be seen until midnight.
You were working your ass for a couple of hours now until the band showed up. You could tell by the huge welcoming. The applause, the cheers and definitely women cajoling over them. Here they were standing in the centre of attention, thanking everyone for supporting them and buying their records. Their music was playing at the stereo and you couldn't prevent yourself from jamming to their songs.
When their speech was over, everyone was free to do what they wanted so your bar counter was full again with people chatting and drinking. You saw the entire fucking band coming to your place, obviously for an order. You tried to stay calm because hands-off, you liked their music and fangirled a lot when you saw them live last year in London with your boyfriend.
"Hello beautiful, can I have some Moet & Chandon, please? I really need to celebrate!" Freddie spoke first, carrying a wide smile on his face.
"Sure." You kindly accepted his offer.
"I'd like the same with Freddie." Brian interrupted when you moved behind to grab the expensive bottle and open it.
"So do I." John added and you nodded to grab three glasses, for now.
"And you?" You turned your gaze to the blonde handsome drummer who was already checking you out, focusing especially on your face.
"What do you suggest?" He asked with his eyes being totally flirty.
"Ah, darling, just give us the bottle. Roger is kind of undecided when it comes to drinks." Freddie felt the weird vibe growing between Roger and you. John and Brian giggled, looking whether at Roger or you.
"Eh, our waiter will do it for you. Just sit at your table and he'll take care of you." You kindly warned and he laughed.
"Oh, alright then love. We'll wait for our bottle." He laughed and left with his bandmates, leaving Roger and you alone.
"So? What do you suggest?" Roger turned his gaze back at your eyes.
"What do you feel like drinking? Something sweet, strong, alcohol-free?" You asked trying to help him but he was certainly not trying to find what to drink. He was clearly trying to flirt with you.
"Something to keep me up all night, I guess. But don't make me feel dizzy." He put on a crooked smile and hell, he was attractive as fuck. He knew how to play.
"Right, how does a mojito sound?" You recommended.
"Sounds nice and local." He smiled and you turned around to grab the ingredients. "Are you local? 'Cause your accent doesn't sound British to me." He asked, trying to start a conversation.
"Eh no, I am from the Mediterranean area though." You laughed after turning again to him.
"Italian?" He guessed.
"Greek." You answered.
"Oh, I've been to Greece twice." He started.
"Really? When?" You turned your gaze surprised. You had no idea he has come to Greece for holidays.
"Two years ago I was with my ex-girlfriend, in Santorini. The sunset there is amazing. And the next year I went with John and Brian to Crete. We needed a dose of some Mycenaean civilisation. Thankfully we weren't noticed by fans or anyone else. We were clearly there for tourism." He explained. You were impressed he's seen your country, visited two of the many islands your country has.
"Well, we had some political issues when you guys came to Greece. We were recovering from the junta and had some important historical issues by the end of 1974 so I doubt they'd run behind you, no offence." You laughed while fixing his drink.
"Oh, that's bad. But I understand. How come you're here in Mallorca being a bartender?" He asked and leaned closer to you. There was a nice conversation going on.
"Before junta ruled my country, I was sent to England to study because my parents thought I would be privileged. Now you see me in Mallorca because I work here and besides, I wanted to live somewhere that reminds me of Greece. Studying abroad has the privilege of learning a new culture, a new way of life and so on. Which is so wrong for the locals back home." You explained and cut a slice of lemon before having it ready for him.
"Wait, by saying it's wrong, you mean that..." his brain stopped working for a second trying to understand what you meant.
"Patriarchy is the keyword. They want women to get married at 18 and start a family. But obviously, women have to stay home." You were triggered at your words and internally thanked your parents for giving you the chance to go abroad.
"Cheers to your parents then. I wouldn't get the chance to meet you tonight." He was impressed by your short storytime. "How do I say bottoms up in Greek?" He laughed after you placed him his drink.
"It's pronounced áspro páto." You smiled after saying a Greek word. It must have been a year since you last spoke Greek. You haven't visited Greece for a long time. You found yourself in Mallorca. It's spiritually free and not restricting.
"So, I haven't asked you yet. What's your name?" Roger asked after drinking. He made an oddly satisfying grimace which meant he liked your drink.
"Oh, it's Ellen." You answered. His gaze was literally focused on you the entire time. He wouldn't give up this easy.
"So Ellen, make yourself a drink. It's a treat for you." He offered and you kindly accepted. It's not bad, you've been offered many times. Besides, you needed a drink to stay energised.
"Thank you, Mr Taylor." You thanked him and then his smile vanished.
"If you want us to be in good terms, it's gonna be Roger." His hand was warning you.
"Thank you, Roger." You slightly smiled. "It's just that..." you stopped and checked around if your boss is nearby. "We are obliged to speak to our guests in plural." You whispered and he nodded. Possibly understood the situation.
"So what are you doing later?" He asked after swallowing a sip of his mojito.
"We're cleaning the mess and we're heading homes." You said after drinking a shot. A treated drink.
"I'm not talking about your colleagues. I'm talking about you." He was straightforward. He was so into you, it was obvious.
"Oh well, I'll clean up the mess and I'm heading home." You changed the point of view trying to cut off his flirty attitude.
"When's that time? Dawn?" He guessed.
"Probably at the morning. It's a Queen party, I doubt people will leave before the sun rises." You rolled your eyes sarcastically.
"So..." he started. "Have you been listening to our music?" He asked.
"Yes, since your first album. It was brilliant for a newly formed band." You said with a huge smile on your face and he appreciated it. He appreciated that you didn't fangirl in front of him, having that humble and uninterested attitude. He liked feeling like a predator trying to catch his bait.
"What's your favourite song of A Day At The Races?" He asked. He likes talking to people about his music.
"Definitely Somebody To Love." You affirmed, feeling passionate about your answer, that it seemed you could relate your existence to this song.
"Oh, it's a band's fave too. Well, you relate to this song, don't you?" He asked and his body was closer to yours. The counter was the only thing beside you.
"I guess I do." You looked down for a moment, thinking of your ex but his hand touched your jaw trying to lift you up. Your eyes were looking into his and this is how you noticed how blue they eventually are. An ocean.
"Is it about a guy? I'm sure he doesn't deserve you." He tried to cheer you up with his soft smile.
"It's not that. It's..." you sighed. "Well, this is getting too personal." You pulled back trying to stop the situation. But he wouldn't abandon his try.
"Do you have any specific lyric of the song you relate the most?" He asked.
"Yes, there is that one: I've spent all my years in believing you but I just can't get no relief, Lord." You kind of explained the situation within a couple of lyrics. "He cheated on me. He had the audacity of saying it to my face and left without looking back or apologising." You nearly tore but tried to keep it for yourself. This is getting too personal and you're opening your heart to a stranger that you feel comfortable with. Maybe because you've been listening to him and his bandmates for years and you've seen him live too.
"You know..." he looked down for a second trying to find the words. "At least he was honest. He could keep you for his entertainment if things didn't work with the girl he possibly slept with." He tried to wake you, but he was right.
"I don't even know how long he was cheating on me. However, I did notice a weird behaviour in the last couple of months we were together." You answered.
"Be happy that you're not with him anymore. He took your love for granted. This is not how it works." He said with his eyes still focused on yours.
"You know, we once saw you live. Last year." You tried to avoid talking about your ex the entire time.
"Oh! That's great! Did I look nice?" He joked and he gained a laugh from you. That made him feel nice.
"Definitely, you always look nice." You took a moment to check him out. And hell, he looks and smells so nice.
"I'm flattered." He smiled and you pulled back again to do your job. You could see your boss staring at you. That wasn't good.
"You better get going, my boss is supervising us." You said and he got the hint. You were as cold as you could be.
"Sure, will I see you later?" He asked and stood up from his chair, ready to leave.
"No. I'll be too tired by then." You answered and he was saddened by your reply. He thought he had you. His flirting wasn't sufficient. Which means he had to try again.
He left and walked to his bandmates, they were there talking about their success until Roger joined their conversation but it changed as soon as he sat on the sofa next to Brian.
"So, how did it go Rog?" Freddie asked and they were all ready to hear.
"She seems so uninterested and hard to get, I have to try again." He took out one of his cigarettes, ready to smoke and think.
"Ah, your type of girls Roger." Brian laughed. "You like feeling a hunter don't you?" He added.
"Of course I do. But she recently broke up and I reckon she's still into him. How do women's brains work anyway?" He asked, frustrated.
"Oh darling, I don't see her as stuck with her ex as you think she is. She's been avoiding your flirting because she works here." Freddie had a point and John nodded.
"Just wait for her shift to end and make a move. She noticed you were flirting with her." John suggested and they all agreed to it.
"It's gonna take hours. She said it's possible for the party to end after dawn. She also has to clean up with her colleagues." Roger explained and turned his gaze back to you. But you were already looking at him and when you noticed, you turned back to your counter.
"Fine, then do it now," Freddie advised and Roger looked at you considered. "Wait where's she going?" Freddie asked after noticing your figure leaving your position.
"James, would you mind taking my place for a moment? I really need to use the bathroom." You called for your colleague who politely came to your counter.
"Sure, go ahead. I'll be here as long as you need." He smiled and you left for the bathroom to take a very needed pee.
"Shall I go after her?" Roger asked.
"Fucking go!" Freddie pushed Roger to run after you no matter how awkward it would be.
You walked in the staff-only bathroom, rushing to the toilet. After drinking a few shots, you needed to pee like a champion. When you pushed the flusher you unlocked your door and the very first thing you saw, was Roger standing at the wall.
"What the hell are you doing here, get out!" You were shocked by his presence and he wouldn't move.
"This is the only chance I have with you right now. Your boss can't see us." He came closer to you.
"No, but he'll get suspicious!" You tried to pull back until you reached the counter. Now you were sandwiched between Roger and the counter. There was no space between you. His face was coming closer to yours.
"I locked the door in any case." His nose tickled yours and his hands placed you on top of the counter, sitting now and having his bulge, against your area. That feeling is the shit.
"I work here, I can't..." you tried to refuse but the feeling of getting fucked couldn't stop you.
"I can't be in this toilet too, but here I am." His lips touched yours with passion and lust. His arms wrapped your waist and lowered down to your arse, squeezing it gently and your hands moved to his neck and his cheeks, trying to hug most of it. You haven't gotten kissed nor fucked for a long time.
Living on the west side of Europe had given you many opportunities. The situation you're currently now couldn't even be referred to Greek religious people as a joke. They'd freak out and tell you crap like you ashamed your honour, your family and your future husband. Your parents were too open-minded to let you live in West Europe and live your life as you wanted to. You had sex with your boyfriend at nineteen, with no need to be your first wedding night, you wear shorts on summers because you feel like it and now you're having a one night stand with a rockstar of a band you like and it's never gonna be the same anymore. You played it hard-to-get because you felt it was wrong. But it wasn't. It's just one more experience to add to your diary.
"Are you sure you want to do this, here?" He stopped the kiss for a second, to ask for your approval.
"Yes, but let it be fast, or I'll be in trouble." You checked at the door. "Are you certain the door's locked?" You asked.
"Yes, I am. It's just that..." he stopped.
"What?" You were scared he regretted it and he'd leave you like the mess you already are.
"I want to get more of you, but in this counter, I don't have the chance. I'll cope with it." He unbuttoned your suit while your hands tried to unzip his jeans.
"If you stay a little longer in Mallorca, you can get more of me." You winked and he smiled, thinking he has more chances with you.
"Works for me." He whispered and turned to your lips again for a passionate kiss.
He helped you with taking your suit off, now staying on your bra when your hands put his jeans down. "Mind taking your bra off?" He asked while his mouth travelled your neck, giving it soft kisses.
"I'd rather wear it..." you refused taking it off after gaining a lot of insecurities because of your ex-boyfriend. You remember him saying how small your breasts are and with that, no other man can see it. Your A-cups haven't be seen by any other man. Not even by your ex after the second time, you had sex with him.
"As you wish..." he didn't insist and pulled your skirt up, on your waist, with his bulge rubbing against your core and turning you instantly wet. "How long has it been?" He asked after noticing the humidity between your legs with his hand.
"Must be eight months. I'm out of practice." You sighed.
"Don't feel bad about it, I'll do the work. You're already wet for me. I like it." He bit his lower lip and turned to your lips again, for a deep kiss. "God, you are fat-bottomed aren't you?" He smiled between the kiss after squeezing your thighs and your small waist. "I'm starting to have a thing for greek girls." He complimented your body type and that boosted your low confidence level. With a simple move, he placed you against the mirror, taking your thong off your left leg to have clear access inside your wet area. His hand pulled his erected penis out of his black underwear, ready to thrust inside you.
"You better start before I cum untouched." You exhaled and balanced yourself at the counter.
He smirked and trusted inside you, feeling him completely weird inside you, maybe because you haven't had sex for more than half a year. The sensation was amazing and penetration was always the thing that released you from thoughts. His hands squeezed your thighs and each thrust was a try to pull you closer to his pelvis. You couldn't stop breathing heavily. You had to be quiet and so did he. It was a staff-only bathroom and the key was turned horizontally so no-one could break in with a spare key.
"Oh god, this is amazing..." you moaned at every pleasuring wave while your hands played with his blonde hair.
"Fuck, yes, you're so tight and wet for me." He tightened his teeth as he exhaled into your ear.
His thrusts were giving you the orgasm you haven't had for a long time. It was the tension between you, that made it more passionate but fast enough to make you come earlier than you thought. Soft whimperings coming from your mouth sent him the message that you were close enough and so was he. You could tell by his sharp thrusts, getting smoother and sudden. His gaze was focused on your eyes. Your sight was getting blurry and your legs began to shake; it happens when you reach your orgasm and it feels terrific.
"Ah, God..." you moaned and tilted your head behind, where the mirror is. "That was so refreshing." You gasped after wearing your thong again.
"Ain't gonna lie, but this WC shag was the best I had." He laughed and wore his underwear and jeans again.
"I can't make comparisons to it, I've only had two boyfriends in my life and this is my first time fucking a stranger at my workplace's restroom." You buttoned your suit and stood up from the counter to fix yourself.
"Stranger?" He asked confused.
"Stranger, Roger. I mean, I do know you're a rockstar, a member of my favourite band and I've seen you live once but it won't change the fact you're a stranger. I know you as a persona, not as a person. You get it?" You tried to explain how it feels.
"Oh, I see." He nodded. "Will I see you again? I want to know you as a person if you want that too." He suggested.
"Sure." You kissed his cheek gently, letting him take the lead. You wanted him to make the move. "I'll just walk out from the WC first and make sure no one sees you when you get out." You said and walked through the door until someone tried to get in. A knock on the door was heard.
"Ellen, are you still in there?" It was James.
"Yes, I'm coming." You internally panicked and hinted at Roger to hide in the toilet. "Hey James, is everything alright?" You asked after opening the door.
"Yes, I wanted to check on you. You were absent for a quarter. Are you okay? You look like a mess." James liked you for a long period of time but he wasn't your type. He's way too cute for your standards.
"Yeah, I'm fine... I just felt a little dizzy and wanted to wash my face with cold water. I needed it." You lied after checking your face in the mirror. You were red as a tomato.
"Oh, fine then. You should get back to your post. The boss has been looking for you." He pointed outside and you felt really bad about it. Your boss suspects you since the moment you started chatting with the blonde man hiding in the toilet.
"Alright, I'll be back in a minute." You closed the door to his face and rushed to the toilet where Roger was hiding.
"You're a cute little liar, aren't you?" He teased and gave you a little slap on your butt cheek.
"I won't be anymore if my boss finds out." You rushed, trying to leave the toilet.
"How will I reach you?" He asked trying to learn your phone number.
"Just come at my post and I'll hand you a drink." You declared and left the room, heading fastly at your post. You stared at the Queen members, looking at you all smiles and winks. They probably knew what happened a quarter ago.
You fixed another drink for Roger, trying to look calm and relaxed. But you weren't. You were tense and it could be seen. Two minutes later, Roger came to your counter again with a crooked smile on his face, waiting for the drink. He was looking whether at his bandmates or you. There was absolute silence.
"Here's your drink." You smiled and handed his drink with a small paper around the glass. He carefully grabbed the paper so it couldn't be seen and walked away, heading to the balcony.
He grabbed the paper, unfolded it and there was your phone number and a note in it: "thanks for giving me a good time Rog"
He smirked at your note and placed it in his pocket, anticipating the moment he'd call you.

Chapter five; Utopia.
Finale.
Ateez x reader.
Ateez pirate au.
■█■█■█■█■█■█■█■█■█■█■
My eyes snapped open and I shot up, looking around I was in a room a cabin maybe? I wasn't to sure, my head was spinning along with my throat hurting.
"Where-" I spoke, my voice weak, it hurt so I stopped, I was laying on a bed it looked like I was on a ship but who's?
The door slowly opened and I froze not knowing what to expect, I picked up the covers from the bed pulling it around me a sence of comfort.
"Yn what are you doing up?" Geonhak asked as he walked in, my eyes widened in shock as I just stared at him not knowing why he was here or how I was here.
"Geonhak? What where?" I asked standing up to walk over to him, my throat still hurting as I spoke.
"Calm down your safe now, we are on your fathers ship, no pirate will get to you" he said as he placed his hands on my shoulders and started rubbing, I frowned moving away from him.
"What are you talking about how did I get here? Where is here?" I asked glearing up at him, crossing my arms.
"We saw Blackbeard's ship, saw his men throw you in to the ocean, we saved you and now we're heading back home." He explained, I stood quietly as I thought 'what about Yeosang?'.
"No we can't go back, wait what about Yeosang?" I asked panic in my eyes and my voice, Geonhak snorted at me asking that, his turn crossing his arms.
"That pirate is in the cell where he belongs. Gonna be hung the moment we get back to England " he spits out venom in his voice as he spoke.
"No you can't! Where's father?" I asked panicking even more needing to explain myself to father, maybe he'll have some sence.
"Where he normally is-" he said looking behind him as I quickly ran past him and out of the cabin, looking around I saw him by the wheel.
"Father! Father!" I yelled, my voice getting worse, I ran up the stairs now realising I was wearing a dress, I picked up the skirt so I wouldn't fall.
"Yn goodness you shouldn't be up yet you almost drowned" father told me as he ran up to me scolding me for being up.
"Father you have to follow Blackbeard's ship!" I told him, he looked at me shocked then shook his head no. "Why on earth would I do that?" He asked as he started walking away from me.
"Their heading to Utopia, do you really want pirates to be the first to set foot on land?" I asked thinking quickly, knowing he would not allow that.
"Change of plan! We're heading for Utopia men!" Father yelled, my eyes widened, not expecting him to agree so quickly, but it now helps.
"You stay in the cabin I don't want anything happening to you" father said as he walked away, I shook my head no but he didn't listen.
"Geonhak take her back to the cabin" father said, Geonhak grabbed my arm, then slotted father with an "Aye sir" and walked me down the stairs.
"Get off me-" I said struggling to get out of his grip, as we got to the cabin, Geonhak throws me in as I trip and land on the floor.
"Stay here and don't cause anymore problems" he said anger in his voice as he gleared at me, then he slammed the door close and heard him stomped off.
"Unbelievable" I said as I got off the floor and sat down on the bed crossing my arms as I gleared at the door.
✥-----------------------†-------------------✥
I waited long enough sitting doing nothing so I creeped to the door and slowly opened it, looking around the crew was busy so I ran to the stairs and bellow deck.
"Yeosang? Yeosang?" I whispered walking around, it was dark as I squinted to see, I should of brought a candle with me.
"Yn?" I heard his voice as I quickly ran up to him and my hands landed on his, I was so relieved to see he was alive, a few cuts on his face maybe from a beating I'm not sure.
"Yeosang your ok, oh thank god" I said smiling at him, Yeosang smiled back as he placed his hand on my cheek through the cell.
"Shh your not supposed to be here" he told me as I place my hand on top of his, I felt tears in my eyes as I watched him, I thought I'd never see him again.
"I know but I needed to make sure you were alright" I told him, Yeosang smiled as he wiped the tears away, leaning closer to lean our heads together.
"I'm ok how about you love?" He asked as he closed his eyes and breathed in heavy. "Fine we need to get you out of here-" I said pulling away to look at the cell.
"No don't it's no use at the moment" he told me, I stopped and looked at him as we stared for a while.
"We need to get to Utopia, Blackbeard will kill the crew soon, we need to save them" Yeosang said after a while fear in his eyes.
"It's fine we're following them" I told him smiling softly, Yeosang looked shocked for a moment "What how?" He asked as I smirked.
"My father hates pirates he's not going to let them be the first to get there" I told him, Yeosang chuckled at that.
"For once I'm actually glad your father hate pirates that much" he said through laughter, I nodded giggling myself.
"You need to leave" he said a now serious look on his face, I shook my head no "But-" I began but he cut me off.
"No buts who knows what would happen if they saw us talking" he said, I sighed and nodded in understanding, I turned around and walked back on deck.
✥--------------------†-------------------✥
I managed to get to deck without being seen, as I went to go back to the cabin, but got stopped.
"Lady Yn what are you doing?" A crew asked, I quickly tured around facing him, I blushed and smiled nervously.
"I was looking for the kitchen I'm quite hungry" I said the first thing coming to mind, the crew chuckled at that.
"Oh follow me I'll show you were it is" he offered I smiled thanking him as we walked to the kitchen.
"Yn!" Was heard as we opened the door, the first thing I was greated to was the cook yelling my name.
"Seokjin?! What are you doing here?" I asked as I ran up to him giving him a hug, Seokjin was the chef at home, I'm to happy to see him.
"Your father said you were kidnapped by pirates, I offered my service to help. Glad to see you safe." He said hugging me back as we embraced.
"It's good seeing you too." I laughed as we pulled away from eachother, "Now let's get you some good food in you" he said as I sat down at the table watching him work.
✥-------------------†--------------------✥
"Hmm so that's what happened, Gunhak is a bit of a snob isn't he?" Seokjin said as he sat next to me as I was eating, telling he what actually happened.
"You go stay in the cabin, I'll make something for Yeosang" Seokjin said as he winked at me, I grinned at him thanking him again as I made my way out the kitchen.
"Thank you Seokjin, your the best" I said as I left hearing a faint "I know" as I chuckled at that and in a happier mood now.
✥------------------ † ------------------✥
I stayed in the cabin waiting patiently, it had now been four days at sea, everyday I would sneak down to see Yeosang to see if he was doing ok.
I was just walking to the door when I heard movement outside, taking a look the crew was standing around staring at something. I walked out gasping at the island infront of me.
"There it is" one of the crew members said, "The legend is true" another said as the crew walked closer to the edge of the ship to get a better look.
"Utopia" Seokjin said as he walked up next to me, I couldn't look at him since my eyes were glued to the island.
"It's beautiful" was all I was managed to say, as my eyes followed the flock of birds that flew around the trees, the colours almost too intense to be true. There was the dazzling blue of the ocean, the immaculate white beach, the rich elemental green of the pine trees and rain forest, it was truly Utopia.
"There's Blackbeard's ship!" One of the crew members yelled out, pointing over the the black ship, Father ran up glearing at the ship.
"Listen up men, I want two groups, you lot sail over and take over Blackbeards ship, the other group will come with me to the island" my father yelled, the crew scattered as they grabbed what they could.
"Yn, you stay here with Geonhak and a few other crew members, stay safe" my father said, I nodded with a serious expression on my face. He kissed my forehead then walked over to his first mate as they got a boat ready to go to the island.
I watched father leave I stood by the edge of the ship but Blackbeard's ship was still in the corner of my eye.
The ship slowly sailed towards the pirate ship, I frowned then turned to head below deck to get Yeosang.
"Yn where are you going?" Geonhak asked as he grabbed hold of my arm stopping me from moving.
"Nowhere important" I told him as I struggled to get out of his grip, his hold on my arm tightened the more I struggled, tears pricked the corners of my eyes as the hold hurt.
"You are my fiancé I need to know where your going!" Geonhak yelled, the crew left on ship did nothing as they watched.
"I remember never agreeing to marry you Geonhak!" I yelled back at him, I put my hand on his trying to push him away from me.
"You will marry me after we get back to England" his voice was low almost deadly, at that I froze from fright not knowing what to do.
"Let go of me" my voice was weak, I closed my eyes cursing myself for sounding weak infront of him.
"Or what?" He asked, his frown turned in to an evil smirk as he started dragging me to the cabin, I tried to get free with no use.
"Or you'll regret it" I heard someone say, and then in a second Geonhak fell to the floor unconscious, turning around my eyes widened.
"Yeosang?! How did you get out?" I asked running up to him hugging him tightly, he held me close as I buried my face in to his chest.
"Seokjin helpped" Yeosang explained, his hand landing on my head as he stroked my hair, I gripped him tighter feeling more comfortable with him.
"I know I'm amazing" Seokjin said from behind Yeosang, I pulled away smiling up at the older man, Seokjin smirked and rubbed my head.
"Now you two get over to that ship save the crew I'll pretend I didn't see anything" Seokjin said as he wondered away, probably back to the kitchen.
✥----------------- † ------------------✥
Thankfully the crew left Yeosang and I alone as he sailed the ship over to Blackbeard's ship, the closer we got the quieter it got, it seemed that there was no crew on his ship.
Yeosang came down grabbing a sword placing it in his holder, grabbing my hand we walked over to the edge of the ship.
Yeosang grabbed one of the ropes climbing up on the side, he turned around and held put his hand for me to take.
"Your mad" I said shaking my head looking down at the ocean then back up at Yeosang, "thank goodness otherwise this wouldn't work" he chuckled as he pulled me up and placed his arm around me.
We swang across to the ship landing on the deck, we looked around and the ship was pretty quiet, Yeosang pulled out his sword and my hand leading me down below deck.
"Yeosang!! Yn?! You two are alright!" Wooyoung yelled the moment he saw us, we ran over to the crew that was now locked in a cell.
"Oh thank god" Seonghwa sighed as he breathed out a sigh of relief, then smiled over at the two of us.
"We thought you were gone" Yunho said as he walker over to us, I looked down at the lock and pulled out a clip from my hair to unlock the cell, hearing the click I pulled open the door as they got out.
Wooyoung ran out first, hugging both Yeosang and myself as he smiled brightly at us laughing.
"Wait wheres Hongjoong?" Yeosang asked as he looked around not seeing him, I turned to Seonghwa waiting for him to explain.
"With Blackbeard, Hongjoong is leading them through the island" Seonghwa sighed rubbing his head in frustration, the rest looked down to the floor.
"Why would he do that?" I asked as I frowned, looking over at Yeosang who was also frowning at the news.
"Blackbeard was going to kill us if he didn't" San said, he looked very sad, Jongho stood next to him rubbing his back.
"Then we got to get to the island" I said as I rushed to deck having a look around to find a boat, the guys following close behind.
"That's not only dangerous but stupid. Yn your father is on the island now, if he knew what happened he'd have us all killed where we stand" Yeosang explained as he got hold of my shoulders so I could look at him.
"My fathers main priority is Utopia, he won't care until he takes out Blackbeard" I told him looking over at the others who all nodded.
"Then what's the plan?" Jongho asked looking around also seeing no more boats, we stood there thinking for a moment until Mingi spoke.
"I might have an idea?" He said as he looked around a smirk on his face chuckling quietly to himself.
"Why don't we crash the ship in to the island, then sink the other boats apart from two, hide the two, go grab Hongjoong then take the navi ship back to Tortuga?" Mingi explained a proud smile on his face.
"Ok anyone have a better idea?" Seonghwa asked shacking his head as he crossed his arms, at that the others chuckled at Mingi as he pouted.
"What's wrong with my plan?" Mingi asked as he gleared over at Seonghwa, "Hmm I don't know, maybe the whole plan!" He yelled at Mingi, the others laughing louder.
"It could work. At least the getting and going to the island, if we find some weapons and keep low, we could grab Hongjoong without a fight, but more likely it will end in one" Yeosang said his hand to his chin thinking.
"That could work, ok let's find some weapons" Seonghwa nodded as we all rushed around to find any weapons that was left.
✥--------------------†---------------------✥
After a while we found a descent amount of weapons to use, Seonghwa made his way to the wheel as the others took care of the ship, the moment everything was done the ship sailed off.
As we moved closer to the island we all braced ourselves for the hard impact that was about to happen.
The ship creaked dangerously as waves thrust forward in great amounts of power, the crash happened fast as we all fell to the floor from the impact, Yeosang was by my side immediately helping me up.
"Is everyone alright?" Seonghwa yelled to us, we all nodded as he walked down towards us.
"We gotta do that again!" Wooyoung yelled laughing clapping his hands as he had a bright smile on his face still laying on the floor.
"Focus Wooyoung! We are here to save Hongjoong remember" Seonghwa said glearing at him, Wooyoung stopped laughing looking up at Seonghwa as San walked over to help him up.
"Right let's go" Seonghwa said as he climbed down to the beach below, one after the other following after him.
As I placed one foot out from the wooden ship, and the next foot out, my feet decided to plant itself into the sand.
My eyes felt like it didn’t know how to blink at that moment as I was awe struck by what my eyes witnessed.
In front of me was a place filled with the unending grains of golden sand, as if the whole island was made out of gold itself.
Shimmering blue waters that sparkled in the presence of the sunlight encircled the island.
Greenery spread out all around the island, with patches of different coloured flowers that grew among bushes occasionally.
As we all got down from the ship Seonghwa started walking in to the jungle, cutting our way through the dense, suffocating undergrowth, fighting through the very thick air, which hung heavy, moist and still.
Trees tall as cathedrals surrounded us, and a strange green light almost holy shimmered through the vast canopy of leaves.
The forest seemed to have an intelligence of it's own. It's voice was the sudden screech of a parrot, the flicker of a monkey swinging through the branches overhead. It knew we were here.
So far we had been lucky. We hadn't been attacked by pirates or from fathers navi, of course we had by mosquitoes and stinging ants. But the more dangerous things had left us alone. The rivers we had crossed had been free of anything deadly.
"How far have they gone! I'm tired!" Wooyoung whined as he walked behind San, San moved a large leaf out the way but let it go as it hit Wooyoung in the face hard making him whine louder.
Yunho laughed along with the others, I smiled over watching them goof around, but it was shortly lived as we were surrounded by the navi pointing guns at us.
We all froze holding up our hands, I looked over at the others seeing panic in their eyes, I sighed realising we weren't going to get Hongjoong back.
"Wait! Guns down! That's my daughter!" I heard father say as he ran up to us, he grabbed my arm pulling me away from the crew.
"Tie them up we should be there shortly" father said to his crew who nodded running up to the guys and taking away their weapons.
We walked for what felt like hours, I could hear the boys quietly complaining behind me, I had asked father multiple times now what is he looking for but he wouldn't say.
Thoughts floated around my head remembering what the mermaids told me. There is an internal Island of legend, a place with unimaginable beauty, but a growing evil, where the forces of life and death are in constant conflict, for centuries many have come in search of it's power, only to fall for its corruption, and now you have come to this place alluried by the promise of power and immortality, the darkness will claim you. Are you willing to risk everything for a taste of Utopia?
"Power? Immortality? Forces of life and death in constant conflict?" I whispered to myself, I thought harder what connect those together? I wondered.
"The fountain of youth! That's what's here that's what everyone is looking for!" I yelled after gasping, father turned around smiling.
"You truly are my daughter" he said laughing, we carried on walking for awhile something wasn't right why would father want to see the fountain of youth? What is he planning?.
We stopped, seeing in the distant was a majestic waterfall that looked like a sheet of blue velour swishing down, its edges hemmed with whipped white lines. The water thundered down into the pool like a gigantic waterspout. This must be where the fountain is.
✥---------------------†-----------------✥
There was a cave hidden behind the water fall, the cave was built into the muddy brown rock of the cliff, the stone guarding the entrance was jagged and uneven, arranged in such a way, that it would be difficult to pass.
One by one everyone entered the cave, we then became engulfed in chilling blackness. The absence of light meant the absence of its warming touch, as I shivered.
Small, loose stones littered the floor causing me to trip as we got further in, the loose stones shifted, twisting my ankle one way and then the other, and the noise of those disturbed rocks echoed off the dense stone walls. Ahead was the sound of more water dripping in the distance.
But without even a match to cast light into the black there was no way to tell how deep it was or if the next step would take us into it's frigid depths.
Father held a stick lighting it on fire, All of a sudden, flaming torches sparked to life, lighting up the tunnel ahead and bathing the entire cavern in a flickering orange glow.
"Let's go" father said as he started walking off following the torches, As afraid as I was I turned to look over to Yeosang he smiled softly at me.
We enter into the massive underground chamber, the walls covered in crystals, the middle of the chamber was a fountain, obviously the fountain of youth the place was full with pirates, Blackbeard's crew.
I stood next to the guys, out of the way of what was about to happen, seeing Hongjoong looked over at us a smile placed on his face.
My father grabbed his sword aiming it at Blackbeard, him doing the same with his sword, father was about to reach him and slashed downwards with the sword.
Blackbeard parried with one of his gauntlets and the blade clashed against the metal strapped to father’s arms with a shriek that sent sparks flying into the air.
Father was quick and uppercut slashed at Blackbeard, attempting to catch him from stem all the way to stern. Blackbeard side stepped to the right just enough and the blade passed a hairs breath from his face.
As they fought the other pirates joining in I moved over to the guys cutting the ropes loose as we made our way to Hongjoong, we watched around as everyone was detracted.
"We got to destroy this place" Hongjoong said we looked over confused as he started to explain.
"This place is to dangerous for any man to ever see" he said, we looked around thankfully everyone was still fighting not paying attention to us.
"Hongjoong you wanted to find this place, all the trouble we went through and now you just want to destroy it?" Seonghwa asked getting confused.
"It's better this way" he said sighing as he turned around looking at the fountain, I nodded agreeing with him, who knows what would happen if someone got hold of this power.
"On three we push" Hongjoong said, we all grab hold of the fountain, on three we pushed making it tilt, pushing harder it finally started to fall knocking it to the floor.
The moment the fountain crashed to the floor the crystal walls started to shake, rocks fell from the ceiling some landing on other knocking them out.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!" Father and Blackbeard yelled, they both ran up to us aiming the swords to Hongjoong and Yeosang.
Quickly Yeosang and Hongjoong lifted swords, hearing the clash I jumped away, San and Jongho grabbed me as we started running out, now realising that the chamber was caving in.
I looked behind seeing Blackbeard fighting Hongjoong, and father fighting Yeosang, my heart racing hoping nothing will happen to the two pirates I've come to care about.
As we ran I saw that we were the only ones running out, maybe we were the only ones who saw the place caving in. Finally getting out the sun beaming down the light blinding.
We waited hearing the rocks falling, I held my breath waiting for Hongjoong and Yeosang to come running out, the others stood getting anxious as well.
Seonghwa pushed us all back as we saw the dust come rushing out of the cave entrance, still no sign of Hongjoong or Yeosang, my hand grabbed Wooyoung's hand he squeezed back nervous as well.
We all leaned in to see two figures getting closer to the entrance as they ran, coming out of the dust was Hongjoong and Yeosang, we cheered seeing them.
"Let's get the hell out of here" Hongjoong said as he sighed rubbing his head and walking the way to the beach. We looked back at Yeosang waiting for him to say something but he just started walking as well.
✥-----------------†--------------✥
We ended up sailing back to Tortuga after a few days, Hongjoong explained that they ran out of the cave while both my father and Blackbeard tried to save the water from the fountain of youth, the cave trapping them in and now probably dead.
We walked off port and on to Aurora finally feeling comfortable and safe again, Yeosang grabbed my hand pulling me away from the others.
"I wanted to apologise about your father" he said, looking down at the floor, both hands in mine, I shook my head.
"Don't be I knew Utopia would kill him one day, it's sad but true, so there is nothing you should apologise for" I told him kissing his cheek as I walked back over to the others.
"Well Yn what's your plan, wanna stay with us or go home?" Hongjoong asked standing next to them, I thought about it for a bit, seeing them all watching me waiting for my answer.
"Theres nothing at home for me now, really there never was.." I said really thinking about my options, I looked up at Yeosang he just nodded at me probably already knowing what I'd choose.
"Stay with us then please!" Wooyoung yelled as he ran up hugging me tightly, the others laughed as I giggled hugging him back.
"Of course, if you'll have me?" I asked glancing over at Hongjoong, he grinned as he came up to hug me too, that was the sign for the group to all hug me making me laugh louder.
"It would be our pleasure to have you as a permanent member of the crew" Hongjoong said as the others cheered.
Letting go Hongjoong made his way to the wheel as we started sailing once again, Yeosang quickly kissed my lips then ran off to where Hongjoong was standing.
I blushed realising that the whole crew saw what just happened, the sound of giggling was heard from some of the younger crew making me blush harder.
"As you've likely seen, the number of Merchants roving these waters is three score the number of military ships." Hongjoong said getting our attention.
"Aye. Easy Purchase, but in small doses." Seonghwa said nodding as his eyes roamed the ocean seeing the ships in the distance.
"Right. So to lure the Navy out of hiding, it's best to cause a bit of mischief." Hongjoong said smirking at us, the others cheered getting excited.
"Catch a few small fish to attract the big ones." I said now understanding what they were talking about.
"That's right. So plunder and pillage as you see fit." Hongjoong said laughing, Utopia far from our minds now as we set off in to the horizon for the next adventure, finally my dreams have come true, I thought smiling to myself watching the crew mess around, truly I was home.
