I dont think I've actually talked about Solar's backstory b4??? SO HERE IT IS

Solar as a toddler was chosen by the chef to be cooked for Trollstice but fell out the cage and was found by the chef's daughter [who I'm debating on making Bridget?] who took Solar in and hid her since Solar was the only one willing to listen to her and was her only friend. Solar, who'd had a huge argument with his sister right before, was happy with this arrangement- she finally had a friend, she finally had someone who'd listen

Fast forward to the day the trolls escaped from bergen town- the chef is exiled, and there's chaos everywhere across the town. The chef's daughter loves her mom, she wants to be a happy family, she misses her, but how can they be happy now when there's no more trolls left? She just wants them to be happy, she just wants to make her mom proud. She's conflicted and scared and so so desperate and then her eyes fall down to Solar

She holds Solar above a burning pot, set to medium heat just like her mother taught her. The chef's daughter hesitates, for a moment- Solar pleads with her, and she asks herself quietly what she's doing killing her only friend like this, making Solar cry like this, and just as she's about to set Solar down her hand trembles- Solar falls

He just barely makes it out- her hair is burnt at the edges, and she can't use it to stretch or camouflage anymore, nor has it grown longer since
