to add, the people who say “trans people will understand, i misgender my [family/friend/coworker] all them time and she doesn’t care!”
in my last job, working fast food in a conservative area, i had a few queer coworkers, but i was the most vocal about it. anyone who is queer knows coming out never actually ends and you have to do it often, and every time i came out (i am genderflux, i don’t mind all pronouns, but i prefer they/them and it/its. i would tell cishet coworkers that i am nonbinary and use they/them) i would receive the same response.
“oh, okay. well, i’ll try but you can’t get mad at me when i get it wrong! you people are always so sensitive about that!”
followed by them not trying at all, very very few people at that job actually bothered to get my pronouns right, and even fewer bothered to correct others. i was even sometimes told “oh well, you won’t mind if i just use she/her for you, right? it’s easier”
the problem was, because they had said those things when i came out, there was nothing i could do about them misgendering me. i would just be proving them right. in their eyes, if i corrected them, got frustrated, or annoyed, or snappish, i became that “snowflake sensitive blue-haired liberal” they wanted.
i could snap, i could get pissed, i could lecture them, or yell, or call them a bigoted asshole. but these were people i worked with, almost every day, people i had to see over and over again. i worked at this job for four years. i don’t believe this was conscious on their part, i don’t think they were trying to set me up and wait for me to break. but they still did it, and it was still frustrating. and upsetting.
a lot of the time, the trans person in your life does care. they care a lot. but they know that you don’t, and they know it is not worth the effort, or fight, to constantly correct you. it is not worth being branded “the snowflake liberal.” it is not worth losing everyone’s respect because they were pushed into snapping. so they give up, and they smile, and they nod, and respond to the wrong pronouns, because if you’re never going to get it right, why would they bother only to lose what little respect or humanity they were shown before?
sometimes i see cis people say "trans people will understand if you misgender them at first. i call my nephew 'her' all the time and he knows i don't mean it" no he doesnt. he probably never hangs out with you for more than ten minutes because that's how long you can last in a conversation before making him feel like shit. also he thinks you're, best case scenario, stupid for not being able to figure it out, or worst case scenario, uncaring about him and his needs. he doesn't like spending time with you. you're deluding yourself into thinking you're far kinder than you are. you're weird man.

Lucky charm!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing- Boyfriend! Jake x Girlfriend! Y/N
Summary- Jake, the top soccer player at UNI, always relied on Y/N’s support—until a huge argument left him distracted before a big game. Without her in the stands, he struggled to play, missing shots and worrying his team. Realizing how much he needed her, a teammate called Y/N, who debated but ultimately showed up, looking her best. The moment Jake saw her, his focus returned, and he played like himself again. After the game, they made up, proving that Y/N was truly his lucky charm.
Warnings- FLUFF, FLUFF, FLUFF, anger, angst, arguments, happy couple… (jokes! Not really)

“You don’t get it, Y/N!” Jake’s voice was sharp, frustration thick in every word.
“Then explain it to me, Jake! Because right now, it feels like I’m the only one trying.” Y/N’s arms were crossed tightly over her chest, her voice shaking between anger and hurt.
Jake let out a humorless laugh, running a hand through his hair. “You think I don’t care? That I don’t appreciate you?”
Y/N exhaled sharply. “Jake, I’ve been to every single game, every late-night practice, every stupid press conference where they ask you the same questions. And not once have I ever complained.” Her voice broke slightly, but she pushed on. “But the second I bring up how I feel, I’m the bad guy?”
He opened his mouth, but no words came out. The look in her eyes—raw and filled with unshed tears—made his chest tighten.
“I can’t keep doing this if you don’t want me here, Jake.”
His stomach twisted. That wasn’t what he wanted at all. But his stupid pride got in the way, and instead of telling her the truth—that he needed her more than anything—he muttered, “Maybe it’s better that way.”
The second the words left his lips, he wanted to take them back.
Y/N’s face fell, her jaw tightening as she nodded slowly. “Okay.”
And just like that, she turned and walked away.
Jake stood frozen, watching her disappear into the night.
He had just made the biggest mistake of his life.
-
The silence between them was louder than anything Jake had ever experienced.
Y/N hadn’t texted. Hadn’t called. Hadn’t shown up to practice.
Jake told himself he was fine. That he could focus better without distractions. But when game day rolled around, it hit him like a freight train.
He jogged onto the field, scanning the stands on instinct. But the seat where she always sat—third row, left side, just behind the team bench—was empty.
His stomach clenched.
He tried to shake it off as the game started, but his body wouldn’t cooperate. His passes were off. His speed felt sluggish. Every shot he took either hit the post, went wide, or was blocked by the keeper.
The frustration built with every mistake, weighing him down like lead.
The final whistle blew, and UNI had lost. Jake barely heard the post-game speech from his coach, too busy replaying every missed opportunity in his head.
When he got back to the locker room, he didn’t even bother taking off his cleats right away. He just sat there, elbows resting on his knees, staring at the floor.
Jay, his closest teammate, nudged him. “Dude. What’s going on?”
Jake exhaled slowly. “Nothing. Just an off day.”
Jay scoffed. “Nah, man. This is more than that. I’ve never seen you play like this.” He paused. “It’s Y/N, isn’t it?”
Jake didn’t answer.
Jay sighed. “Look, I don’t know what happened, but it’s obvious you’re a wreck without her.”
Jake clenched his jaw. “She’s probably better off.”
Jay rolled his eyes. “Yeah? Then why do you keep looking for her in the stands?”
Jake said nothing.
Jay grabbed his phone. “I’m texting her.”
Jake should’ve stopped him. Should’ve told him to leave it alone.
But he didn’t.
Y/N sat on her bed, knees pulled to her chest, as she mindlessly scrolled through her camera roll. Each swipe brought a new memory, a new reminder of everything she and Jake had been before it all fell apart.
There was a photo of him grinning at her during one of their late-night study sessions, his notes forgotten as he balanced a pencil between his nose and upper lip, trying to make her laugh. She had rolled her eyes at the time, but she could still remember the way her stomach had fluttered when he looked at her like she was the best part of his world.
Another picture—Jake, covered in sweat but grinning like a fool after a big win, his arm slung lazily around her shoulders. She had been laughing, caught mid-cheer, his jersey draped over her like a second skin. She had been so proud of him. She always was.
And then, one of her favorites—a candid shot of them from a lazy Sunday morning. Jake, shirtless and half-asleep, stealing bites of her breakfast as she swatted at his hand, laughing at his shamelessness. His hair had been a mess, his eyes still heavy with sleep, but he had looked at her like she was the only thing that mattered.
Y/N’s chest ached.
She missed him. More than she wanted to admit.
Her fingers hovered over his contact, the familiar urge to text him creeping in. But then, like a cruel reminder, his words echoed in her head.
"Maybe it’s better that way."
She swallowed the lump in her throat, locking her phone. If that was what he wanted, then fine. She wouldn’t be the one to break first.
But then, as if the universe was laughing at her stubbornness, her phone buzzed.
Jay: Jake’s a mess. He needs you. Badly.
Her heart clenched.
She should ignore it. He was the one who pushed her away. He was the one who made her feel like she didn’t matter.
But… if that were true, why was he struggling so much?
Y/N exhaled slowly, staring at her reflection in the mirror. Her expression was unreadable, but her eyes betrayed her, filled with something she wasn’t ready to name yet.
She could walk away. Let Jake figure this out on his own. Prove to herself that she didn’t need him as much as he needed her.
But that was a lie.
Because no matter how angry or hurt she was… she still loved him.
And she wasn’t sure she ever wouldn’t.
With a resigned sigh, she grabbed her jacket and touched up her makeup.
If she was going, she was going to make an entrance.
She headed out the door, her heart pounding.
Jake needed her.
And whether she liked it or not… she needed him too.
-
Jake jogged onto the field, his mind clouded with doubt.
His body felt heavy, his nerves shot. The last few games had been a disaster, and the weight of failure clung to him like a storm he couldn’t outrun. He tried to shake it off, stretching his arms and bouncing on his feet, but nothing felt right.
Then, instinctively, he looked toward the stands.
And everything stopped.
His breath hitched. His heart stuttered.
Y/N was there.
Sitting in her usual spot—third row, left side, just behind the team bench.
Jake blinked, half-convinced he was imagining it. But no, it was real. She was real.
And damn, she looked good.
Her hair was styled just the way he liked, her makeup subtle but stunning. She wore his favorite shade, the one he always said made her eyes stand out, and even from across the field, he could see the way her lips curved in something between challenge and amusement.
She came.
A rush of energy shot through his veins, the kind he hadn’t felt since before she left. His pulse pounded, but this time, it wasn’t from nerves—it was from something deeper, something electric.
His lucky charm had returned.
And just like that, everything clicked back into place.
The whistle blew, and Jake was unstoppable.
Every pass was precise, every shot powerful. He weaved through defenders with the confidence he’d been missing, his movements sharp and deliberate. The frustration that had been drowning him for days melted away, replaced by pure instinct.
And every time he scored, he didn’t look at the scoreboard. He didn’t look at his teammates.
He looked at her.
Y/N sat there, arms crossed, trying to look unimpressed. But he saw the way her lips twitched, the way her fingers tapped against her thigh. She was proud of him—he knew it.
By the final whistle, UNI had secured the win. The crowd erupted in cheers, his teammates swarming him with congratulations, but Jake barely acknowledged any of it.
His eyes were locked on her.
Without a second thought, he sprinted toward the stands, pushing past the crowd. Y/N had already started making her way down toward the field, and when she stopped in front of him, they just stood there, staring at each other.
For the first time in days, Jake could breathe again.
“I was an idiot.” His voice was breathless, raw. “I didn’t mean any of it, Y/N. I was just—” He exhaled sharply, running a hand through his sweat-damp hair. “I was scared. Of how much I need you.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, arms still crossed. “Yeah? I figured, considering how hard you flopped without me.”
Jake huffed out a laugh, shaking his head. “I deserved that.”
“Damn right, you did.”
A small smile tugged at her lips, but Jake didn’t miss the way her tough exterior wavered, the way her eyes softened just slightly.
He took a step closer. “Y/N, I mean it. I never should’ve pushed you away.” His voice dropped to something quieter, more vulnerable. “You’re everything to me.”
She sighed, finally uncrossing her arms. “Jake… you can’t shut me out when things get hard. That’s not how this works.”
“I know,” he admitted, his gaze never leaving hers. “And I won’t. Ever again.”
Y/N studied him for a long moment, and then, finally, she sighed in defeat. “You’re lucky I like you, Sim.”
Relief crashed over him, and before she could say anything else, he closed the distance, wrapping his arms arowund her and pulling her in tight.
She hesitated for half a second before melting into him, her arms circling his waist.
Jake buried his face in her hair, inhaling the familiar scent of her perfume, and everything felt right again. “I missed you,” he murmured.
“I know,” she teased, voice muffled against his jersey. “I could tell from your embarrassing game stats.”
He chuckled, pulling back just enough to look at her. “Guess I need you to keep me in check.”
“Clearly.”
Jake reached up, brushing his thumb over her cheek, his voice softer now. “So… does this mean you’ll be at the next game?”
Y/N smirked. “As long as you keep winning.”
He grinned, pressing a kiss to her forehead before whispering, “Then I guess I have no choice.”
Because she wasn’t just his biggest supporter.
She was his lucky charm.

THE WORLD NEVER ENDED | JACK HUGHES
pairing. jack hughes x fem!reader (ft. platonic quinn & luke hughes x fem!reader + male!oc x fem!reader)
genre. childhood best friends to lovers, ANGST, fluff, hurt to comfort, reader & jack are both 18-19 in this!
synopsis: Y/N and Jack Hughes have been inseparable since childhood, spending every summer at his family’s lake house—until his hockey career takes off and leaves her behind. As Jack’s life moves forward and Y/N tries to do the same, the distance between them grows in ways neither of them expected. But when their paths cross again at a breaking point, they’re forced to confront everything they never said and the feelings that never really went away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lake house never changes. It still smells like pine and sunscreen, the same old dock creaking under your feet, the same late summer breeze curling through the trees. But this time, you’re the only one here.
You let the beer bottle dangle from your fingers, the glass sweating against your palm as you stare at the still water. It’s late. Too late to be out here alone, and your mom would probably kill you if she found out you were underage drinking, but you’ve been doing this since you were kids—sneaking down to the dock past midnight, toes dipping into the water, whispering about everything and nothing at all.
Except this time, Jack isn’t here. Not really. Not anymore.
The last time you saw him was months ago, after another whirlwind season, after Team USA, after everything. He’d come back, same easy smile, same stupidly messy hair, same Jack. And yet, he wasn’t.
He moved too fast, talked too much about things you weren’t a part of, laughed at jokes from teammates you didn’t know. He had an entire life outside of this town, this lake, this dock. A life that didn’t include you.
It wasn’t his fault though, you couldn’t blame Jack for being excited about this whole new chapter in his life, not when he’s worked his ass off so he could secure a spot in the NHL in the future.
You took a shaky breath, watching as the wind blew the waters back and forth, your thought raced with Jack, Jack, Jack. It wasn’t anything new; you had been in love with him since you had learned what the word love even was, when Ellen and your mom teased you two endlessly after your eighth birthday, declaring that you’d two get married when you were older.
And then he left, at age fourteen to go train at some hockey camp over the summer and you started seeing him less and less. Then he left again for USA Hockey, and all that was left of him was the little times he’d pop up on your screen for a FaceTime, or a quick selfie.
You never told him that it felt like the world had ended whenever he left.
The first time you met Jack Hughes, he was seven years old, standing knee-deep in the lake, grinning like he had owned the world.
“You scared to jump in?” he teases, squinting up at you from where he’s splashing around.
You cross your arms, standing barefoot on the dock, the sun burning hot against your skin. “I just don’t wanna get my hair wet.”
Jack laughs like you just said the funniest thing in the world, and before you can react, he launches a handful of water in your direction. It splashes against your legs, cool and shocking, and you gasp.
“You jerk!” you shriek, but Jack’s already laughing, already diving into the water, swimming just far enough out of reach that you can’t get him back.
You don’t know it then, but that’s how it starts.
The Hughes family’s lake house becomes your second home. Your parents are close friends with Ellen and Jim, and summers are spent tangled in sunburns, mosquito bites, and the smell of bonfires. Jack, being just a few months older, quickly becomes your shadow—or maybe you become his.
You race bikes down dirt paths, climb trees until your hands are covered in splinters, and stay up late whispering under blanket forts in the Hughes’ living room, trying not to wake Luke and Quinn.
“You think we’ll still be best friends when we’re older?” you ask one night, voice sleepy, cheek smushed against your arm.
Jack frowns at you, like you just said something ridiculous. “Duh. Who else am I supposed to hang out with? My brothers?”
You grin brightly, shoving him. “You promise?”
He holds out his pinky. “Promise.”
And that’s that.
As you both get older, things don’t really change. Not at first.
Winters are spent at the Hughes’ house in Michigan, watching Jack skate for hours at the rink, your fingers numb from gripping a hot chocolate too tight. Summers are still for the lake house, where the days blur together in a haze of sun, water, and laughter.
Jack is your best friend. The one who sneaks you extra s’mores when the adults say no. The one who ties your skates when your fingers are too cold. The one who always picks you first for street hockey, even when Luke complains about it. The one who knows everything about you.
And you know everything about him, too.
That he gets grumpy when he’s hungry. That he has to listen to music before every game, or else he feels off. That he’s already dreaming about the NHL, about Team USA, about everything that seems so far away but somehow already feels like it’s coming too fast.
You don’t realize when things do start changing.
Maybe it’s when Jack turns fourteen and starts spending more time away at tournaments. Maybe it’s when you turn fourteen and realize your heart speeds up whenever he looks at you a certain way.
Maybe it’s the summer you turn fifteen and see him talking to a girl from town, and something ugly coils in your stomach. You don’t say anything, though. You can’t.
Jack is your best friend. That’s all. Even if you wish it wasn’t.
When Jack is sixteen, everything does change.
It’s the Fourth of July. The lake house is packed, fireworks already popping in the distance. You and Jack sneak away from the party like you always do, climbing onto the dock and lying side by side, watching the sky.
“You excited for the USA team?” you ask, your voice light, like the thought of him leaving doesn’t make your chest ache.
Jack turns his head to look at you. “Yeah,” he says. “Kinda nervous, though.”
You smile a little, the same smile that had reassured Jack every time he saw it. “You’ll be fine.”
He shifts closer, his arm brushing yours. “You think so?”
“Of course,” you whisper. “You’re Jack Hughes.”
He laughs, but it’s softer this time, almost hesitant. The air between you feels different, thicker, heavier. His fingers twitch on the dock beside yours, and for a second, you swear he’s about to reach for your hand.
But then he exhales sharply, sits up. “We should get back.”
And just like that, the moment is gone.
You stare at the fireworks exploding in the sky, feeling like something inside you is breaking.
Jack leaves for Team USA at the end of the summer.
And you don’t know it yet, but nothing will ever be the same again.
At first, you still talk all the time. He calls after practices, FaceTimes you from hotel rooms, sends you stupid selfies from road trips. And for a while, it almost feels normal. Almost.
But then the calls get shorter. The messages come slower.
You see his name on headlines, hear people at school talking about him like he’s some distant star instead of the boy you grew up with. And suddenly, he feels… far away.
Not just in distance. In everything.
And then one day, you realize you don’t remember the last time he called.
You don’t text him, either. You figured he was too busy anyways—too busy with hockey, with interviews, too busy for you.
His absence leaves a hollow space inside you, one you don’t know how to fill. So you try.
That’s how you end up with him.
Aiden West. Star quarterback. Tall, broad-shouldered, with an easy smile and dimples that should make your heart flutter.
You meet at a party—one you only went to because your friends dragged you out of your house, tired of you spending your nights holed up in your room, pretending you weren’t waiting for a text that never came.
Aidan’s nice. He’s funny. He buys you drinks and calls you baby and kisses you like he means it.
You tell yourself this is good. That this is what you need.
But when he holds your hand, it doesn’t feel the same. When he kisses you, you don’t melt the way you think you should. And when you close your eyes, it’s not Aidan you see.
It’s Jack. Always Jack.
Quinn comes home in December.
You’re not expecting to see him, not really. Ever since he was drafted, he spent all his time in Vancouver, busy with his own life, his own team. But one night, you walk into the Hughes’ house, and there he is, sprawled on the couch like he never left.
“Quinn?” you blink.
He smirks, sitting up. “Hey, kid.”
You roll your eyes but smile anyway. “You’re, like, a few years older than me. I’m not a kid.”
“You’ll always be a kid to me,” he teases, but then his expression softens. “How’ve you been?”
You shrug. “Good.”
He gives you a look, like he can see right through you. Because of course he can.
Quinn has always been quieter than Jack, more observant. He was the one who bandaged your scraped knees when you and Jack were too reckless, the one who ruffled your hair when you had a bad day, the one who watched you grow up and somehow always knew what you were feeling before you even said it.
And right now, you can tell he knows you’re lying.
“You still talk to Jack?” he asks casually.
You stiffen. “Not really.”
Quinn nods, like that’s what he expected. “He’s been busy.”
“I know,” you say quickly, too quickly. “It’s fine.”
He studies you for a moment. Then, his eyebrows furrow. “You dating that football guy?”
You hesitate. “Yeah. Kinda.”
Quinn tilts his head, his expression unreadable. “You like him?”
You swallow. “He’s… nice.”
Quinn leans back, crossing his arms. “You know, I’ve seen you happy before.”
You furrow your brows. “And?”
“And that’s not what you look like right now.”
The words hit deeper than you want them to. You look away, staring at your hands.
Quinn sighs, running a hand through his hair. “Look, I’m not trying to tell you what to do. If you like the guy, great. But don’t force something that isn’t real just because—” He pauses.
You glance up. “Just because what?”
Quinn meets your eyes, and for the first time, his voice is gentle. “Just because Jack hurt you.”
Your throat tightens.
You don’t say anything. You don’t know what to say.
Because he’s right. And maybe that’s the worst part of all.
Aidan is kind when he breaks up with you.
That almost makes it worse.
You can tell he’s been thinking about it for a while. The way he exhales before he starts speaking, the way his hands stay tucked into the pocket of his hoodie like he’s afraid if he moves too much, you’ll see how much this is bothering him.
“You’re not really here, Y/N,” he says, voice steady but laced with something bitter, something tired.
You don’t argue, because you know he’s right.
He sighs, shaking his head. “I like you. I really do. But I deserve someone who looks at me like I’m the only one they’re thinking about.”
Your stomach twists.
“Aidan—”
“It’s fine,” he cuts in, forcing a small smile. “I knew. I think I always did.” He swallows, glancing away before meeting your eyes again. “It was never gonna be me, was it?”
You want to tell him you tried. That you wanted to feel something more, something real. But the truth is, no matter how hard you tried, he was never Jack.
And that was never fair to him.
So instead, you whisper, “I’m sorry.”
He nods, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets. “Yeah. Me too.”
A few days pass, and you still feel hollow, like you’re floating through life without really being in it.
You don’t know why you still go to the Hughes’ house. Maybe it’s habit. Maybe it’s because it still feels like home, even when things don’t feel the same anymore.
Maybe it’s because, deep down, you just need someone who knows you.
Luke opens the door, and before you can even say anything, his face twists in concern.
“Okay, what’s wrong?”
You pause. “What?”
Luke steps aside to let you in, closing the door behind you. “You have your sad face on.”
You frown. “Luke Hughes, I do not have a—”
“You totally do,” he interrupts, flopping onto the couch. He gestures for you to sit next to him, and after a moment, you do.
There’s a beat of silence before he says, “Quinn told me everything.”
You freeze. “Everything?”
Luke gives you a knowing look. “Yeah. And I’m not an idiot, Y/N. I’ve seen the way you’ve looked at Jack since we were kids.”
You open your mouth, but no words come out.
Luke sighs, leaning back against the couch. “Look, I know he messed up. Jack is kind of known for that. And I know you’re hurt. But…” He hesitates. “You still love him, don’t you?”
You squeeze your eyes shut. “Luke—”
“Just be honest,” he says gently.
Your throat tightens. “Yeah,” you whisper. “I do.”
Luke nods like he already knew that was coming. Then he pulls something out of his pocket and holds it out to you.
You frown. “What’s this?”
“Tickets,” he says simply.
You blink. “Tickets?”
“To Jack’s game against Finland.” His voice is casual, but there’s something behind it—something careful, like he knows he’s walking a fine line. “I was gonna go, but I think you should instead.”
Your heart stops.
“Luke…”
“Don’t overthink it,” he says quickly. “Just go. See him. Talk to him.”
You stare at the tickets in his hand, your pulse pounding in your ears.
This is a choice. A chance.
And to be completely honest, you aren’t sure if you’re ready.
You end up deciding not to go until the last minute.
The plane ticket burns in your hands, Luke’s voice echoing in your head: Just go. See him. Talk to him.
So you do. You land in Finland, stomach in knots, trying not to think about what you’ll even say to him. If he’ll even want to see you.
But then the game happens. And Jack loses.
The scoreboard tells you everything—3-2, Finland. A brutal, heartbreaking end.
Jack stays on the ice, shoulders hunched, wiping his face as the Finnish players celebrate around him. You can see the way he’s blinking rapidly, how hard he’s trying to hold it together.
It doesn’t work.
By the time he’s in the tunnel for postgame interviews, it’s like the weight of everything finally crashes over him. The cameras capture everything; his red-rimmed eyes, the way his lips tremble when he speaks, the way his voice wavers when he says, “I feel like I let everyone down.”
Your heart cracks wide open. You don’t think. You just go.
You push through the lingering crowd, through the halls of the arena, heart racing. And then—there he is.
Jack is leaning against the wall, head bowed, gripping a water bottle so tightly his knuckles are white. His shoulders shake slightly, like he’s trying to get a grip, but he’s losing the battle.
You inhale sharply, willing yourself forward.
“Jack.”
His head snaps up, eyes widening. And for a second, he just stares.
Like he doesn’t believe you’re real.
“Y/N?” His voice is hoarse, barely above a whisper.
You nod, stepping closer. But before you can say anything else, Jack clears his throat and quickly swipes at his face, straightening up like he’s trying to compose himself.
Then he blurts out, “How’s Aidan?”
You freeze.
Jack lets out a broken laugh, looking down. “Quinn told me you had a boyfriend,” he mutters, forcing a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. “I—uh, I’m happy for you. You deserve that.”
You swallow hard, your chest tightening. “Jack—”
“I mean it,” he interrupts, still not looking at you. “I always wanted you to be happy.”
He sniffles, pressing his thumb and forefinger against his eyes. He looks exhausted. Worn down in a way you’ve never seen before.
And suddenly, it’s too much.
The space between you. The months of silence. The fact that he still doesn’t know the truth.
You move before you can stop yourself, closing the gap and wrapping your arms around him.
Jack stiffens, sucking in a sharp breath.
But then—slowly, so slowly—it’s like something inside him gives in.
His hands grip your back, his face pressing into your shoulder, and he melts.
You feel his shaky exhale against your neck. The way his fingers curl into the jersey you’re wearing with his name on the back, like he’s afraid if he lets go, you’ll disappear.
And for the first time in a long time, you feel whole again.
“I don’t—” Jack’s voice cracks. “I don’t know how to fix this.”
Your throat tightens. “Then don’t. Just just let me be here.”
Jack exhales shakily, nodding against you. “Okay.”
Despite your reassurance, he still feels like he’s falling.
The weight of the loss, the pressure, the expectations, it’s all crashing over him, relentless and suffocating. But in the middle of it all, there’s you.
And when you pull back slightly, just enough to look at him, he realizes you’re the only thing keeping him grounded.
Your hands stay on his face, thumbs brushing against his damp skin, and there’s something in your expression, something soft and certain that makes his chest ache.
Then you move closer, tilting your head, and suddenly, suddenly—your lips press against his.
Jack stills.
Then, all at once, he melts into you.
His hands slide to your waist, gripping onto you like you’re the only thing keeping him standing. Your lips are soft, warm, familiar, but new at the same time, like something that was always supposed to happen but never did.
It feels like breathing again. Like finally getting it right.
But then, Jack realizes and he blinks, something clicking in his mind as he pulls back abruptly, still holding onto you but panting slightly.
“Wait,” he says, voice hoarse. “Aidan.”
You shake your head quickly. “We broke up.”
His brows furrow. “What?”
You exhale, your hands sliding from his face to his wrists, squeezing lightly. “Jack, I tried to move on. I tried so hard.” Your voice wavers. “But it was never him. It was always you.”
Jack’s lips part slightly, his breath hitching.
Then, suddenly, he laughs—a broken, disbelieving sound before his face crumples, his eyes shining again.
And just like that, he’s crying.
He presses his forehead against yours, squeezing his eyes shut as his grip on your waist tightens.
“You have no idea how bad I wanted you to say that,” he whispers, his voice shaking.
You smile softly, brushing his hair back. “I think I do.”
Jack lets out a shaky exhale, his hands fisting the fabric of your jersey, like he’s terrified you’ll disappear if he lets go. But you don’t.
Because after everything—after the distance, the silence, the missed chances—you’re still here.
He sniffles, pulling you into another tight hug, burying his face in your shoulder.
Later, when the chaos dies down and the arena empties, you end up in Jack’s car.
The heater hums softly, filling the silence, the city lights casting faint shadows across the dashboard.
Jack sits in the driver’s seat, head tilted against the headrest, his eyes half-lidded with exhaustion. You’re next to him, legs curled up on the seat, leaning against his shoulder.
It’s quiet.
Not awkward. Not heavy. Just comfortable.
Jack sighs, nudging his cheek against your hair. “I still can’t believe you’re here.”
You smile faintly, reaching for his hand. “Me neither.”
He squeezes your fingers, his grip warm and sure. “I thought I lost you.”
You shake your head, squeezing back. “You never did.”
Jack exhales, his body relaxing against yours, and for the first time in a long time, hfeels whole again.
The lake house feels the same the next summer.
The scent of pine and sunscreen still lingers in the air, the dock still creaks under your feet, and the water still glistens under the late afternoon sun. But this time, Jack is here. And this time, he’s yours.
He had turned freshly nineteen last month, but still was the same annoying boy you had known since you were seven.
You sit on the old wooden dock, legs stretched out, the warm breeze tangling your hair. Jack is lying beside you, one arm draped lazily over his forehead, his other hand resting on your knee, tracing absentminded patterns over your skin.
It’s quiet, just the sound of the water lapping against the shore and the occasional laughter from inside the house, where Quinn and Luke are probably chirping each other over something stupid.
Jack sighs, turning his head to look at you. “I missed this.”
You smile, threading your fingers through his. “Me too.”
He studies you for a moment, his eyes soft, warm, completely yours. Then, without a word, he tugs you down so you’re lying next to him, your head resting on his chest.
“You know,” he muses, fingers trailing up and down your back, “last summer, I thought I’d never get this back.”
You inhale slowly, letting his heartbeat ground you. “Me too.”
Jack tilts his head, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. “But we made it.”
You lift your head, meeting his gaze. “Yeah,” you whisper, smiling. “We did.”
He grins, the kind that makes your heart skip a beat, then flips you onto your back, hovering over you with that look—the one that reminds you he’s still the same Jack, the same boy who used to splash you in the lake, who used to steal your s’mores when you weren’t looking, who used to be your best friend before he was everything.
“Hey, lovebirds!” Luke’s voice echoes from the house, and you both groan.
Jack turns his head, scowling. “Luke, I swear—”
Quinn’s voice cuts in. “Let them be, Luke. They suffered enough.”
You laugh as Jack rolls his eyes. “I hate that he’s right.”
You shake your head, pulling Jack back down. “Just kiss me already.”
He smirks. “Gladly.”
And as his lips meet yours, the sun dips below the horizon and the lake glistens around you, making you realize everything is exactly the way it’s meant to be.
It isn’t until Luke pretends to fake barf that Jack removes himself away from you, opting to chase down his little brother.
“Boys, am I right?” Quinn says, giving you a grin.
You wrap your arms around him, never feeling as whole as you did now.

SEE WHAT I CAN DO.
NEGLECTED READER X BATFAM
<part1>
Tumblr media
She looked at the big house in front of her Coldly , the mansion looked dark and scary from the outside, a nice man named Alfred greeted her, he told her that her father was busy but he would meet her for dinner, Alfred took her on a tour around the mansion, and showed her her new room, Alfred was the only one talking, Y/N didn't say a word, she just looked at the place coldly, what was her supposed reaction? Happiness? To hell with happiness, her mother passed away two days ago, and then she was dragged here according to what the police said that this is her father's house, the rich and spoiled man Bruce Wayne, she doesn't want to be here, she wants to stay in her mother's apartment, does she have to be 18 to be independent? This is unfair. Alfred was still babbling about where her room was and that Bruce's room was close by but what worried Y/N was how long it would take for him to shut up. After more than two hours of talking, Alfred took her to the kitchen and asked her if she wanted something to eat, Y/N shook her head no, she wasn't in the mood to eat. She stood up and went up to the second floor, to her new room, Alfred had put her bag in the room, she entered her room that she would not get used to, took her bag and started taking out her things and some of her mother's things, but what she was looking for was her mother's computer, she put it on the table and turned it on. Seeing the wallpaper of the main screen made her close her eyes trying to stop the tears, that was the first picture she took of her and her mother after buying the computer, she cursed Gotham and everyone in it for what happened to her mother, she did not care if Batman could not come in time, she did not care that he tried, the important thing is that he failed! He failed! A simple mission and he failed!! If he was a man, he would have come to her and apologized!! If he was a person with morals, he would have brought her mother's body to her!! But he is just a coward in black clothes.... Y/N took a deep breath, she has to calm down, this will not get her anywhere except a headache. She entered the password into the computer and started browsing the daily news like her daily routine before, the news of Gotham full of patients, there is nothing good in the news except the name of Bruce Wayne who does nothing but smile and throw his money, he says he helps and gives charity to those in need but Gotham is still poor and he is richer... His hand is useless, his words are unimportant, and his stupid ambitions are under his feet. Y/N sighed then closed the computer and lay down on her new bed, it is cold and she does not like that, she closed her eyes to sleep, she has to bear this place, maybe her situation is better than others, so staying silent and bearing it since no one bothers her is the best solution....
She woke up from the knock on the door, she looked around the room, she wished this was a dream and she would wake up in her old room… Alfred was outside asking if she was asleep or not, Y/N got up and opened the door, Alfred said that dinner was ready, and that Bruce… her father was waiting for her downstairs… Well, it was time to see the spoiled brat. Y/N followed Alfred down into the dining room, Alfred opened the door for her as he let her in. Y/N wouldn't say anything about her father's appearance, the same pictures she saw, the appearance of a rich boy, what was missing now was his stupid smile. Y/N sat at the table in front of him, Bruce was leading the table from the right, and Y/N was leading the table from the left, they were facing each other. Y/N didn't say hello or say anything, she was just silent, she wouldn't talk to this spoiled brat. Likewise, Bruce looked at her without saying a word, as if he was waiting for her to speak first, but that would not happen. Alfred, who saw this strange atmosphere, immediately began to serve dinner. Y/N looked at the food in front of her unwillingly. She had not eaten since morning, but she was not hungry. She took the glass of water and drank it. Alfred asked her if the food did not suit her, but Y/N was just silent, until the spoiled boy uttered his first words since she arrived. "Isn't it rude not to answer? Alfred has put his effort into preparing this dinner for you." Y/N looked at the spoiled boy who was supposed to be her father. All Y/N did was look at him coldly, not as if his words did anything to her. They all talk nonsense. No one says anything of value.
Alfred tried to lighten the mood by saying that it was okay, that the little miss might not be hungry now and that he would save the food for another time, and this silence continued until Bruce finished his meal and left, as for Y/N, she just looked at him coldly, and as soon as he left she got up and went back to her room, she decided to go back to sleep, there was nothing here worth staying awake for, and the next day she was feeling the effects of hunger, her body was heavy, and she was feeling a little dizzy, so she decided to make breakfast for her, this is her father's house right? So no one has the right to prevent her from using the kitchen, after washing her face and combing her hair she went downstairs and headed to the kitchen, it seems that Alfred is already awake, Y/N didn't care she wouldn't let an old man prevent her from entering the kitchen, and her cold entrance Alfred welcomed her, and asked her if she wanted anything but as expected Y/N didn't answer and just went to check what was inside the fridge, as expected, many things are in the kitchen, after all this is the house of the spoiled boy, she took the easiest thing for her, fruits, apples, oranges and strawberries, Alfred asked her if she was hungry and that he would make her breakfast but was met with silence again, Y/N washed the fruits and looked for the place where the knives usually are, she saw a knife on the table it looked clean so she didn't hesitate to take it and sat on the chair and started cutting, Alfred was hovering around her worried that she would hurt herself, after she finished cutting she started eating with satisfaction, Alfred put a glass of water for her and she didn't hesitated this time and drank it.
While she was eating the fruits, the spoiled boy decided to make another appearance. Alfred welcomed him and Bruce responded. Y/N didn't care about their conversation. In fact, Y/N found the spoiled boy's voice worse than his voice in news. She made a mental note to take her headphones with her the next time she left her room. Bruce sat next to her... not next to her but two chairs away from her, Alfred brought him coffee and breakfast, and the morning was silent like the previous night... and this continued throughout the week, she prepared the food herself, she didn't like it when someone other than her mother prepared food for her, so she wouldn't eat unless she prepared it, even if it was simple, and after a month or less since Y/N had been in the new place, the spoiled boy decided to adopt a child, a child who had lost his parents during a circus show, and bring him home, Y/N felt sorry for him, he had lost someone dear too, but these feelings had disappeared, and the reason for this was when Y/N tried to talk to him, Y/N hadn't spoken or spoken a single word since she had been in this house , and she wasn't planning to talk to the boy named Richard and she wouldn't be able to ease his pain, but she would understand him, she would support him, after all they had lost their family, Y/N sat next to him in the living room and she was holding in her hand a jigsaw puzzle, her mother had bought her for her fifth birthday, so She wanted to play this game with him, this game is silent, it doesn't need words, so it's very suitable for these times but as soon as she sat down and wanted to show him the game he jumped up and screamed like a madman saying "Don't come near me!! I have enough problems to go through by myself! Get away from me, you and your father! After all you are the daughter of a billionaire you won't understand anything, you live like a princess here!!" Y/N looked at him in shock, a princess? A billionaire's daughter? Y/N grabbed the puzzle box forcefully and angrily and slapped him in the face. What Y/N saw now, the boy's reaction was further proof that the people of Gotham are a bunch of filth, Richard stood in shock, holding his cheek, Y/N didn't care if it hurt or not and turned back to her room, there was one thing she would never forget from her mother, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth, he wanted to confront her angrily, so she was going to confront him angrily too.

i really admire the way my mom raised me when it comes to books. she always let me pick what to read, and she usually read the same books along with me so that we could talk about them. she likes reading YA, so that helps. i remember she really liked a series of unfortunate events and would help explain some of the funnier lines that might have gone over my head.
if there were books that either of us thought might be upsetting or hard for me to read, she would read them first and tell me what she thought. she wouldn't say i could or couldn't read them, she would just give me a heads up about things that might be challenging. for example, when i was about 10ish i wanted to read the sixth harry potter book, and she told me (with permission wrt spoilers) that an important character dies and that she found it really sad and thought i might too.
there were also books that she read before me and said she thought would be fine and then i ended up feeling uncomfortable about it for some reason and stopped reading. so she knew she could trust that i would take care of myself when reading. i had a panic attack when i read mockingjay for the first time because the war felt so real, and i took a break, calmed down, and came back to it later. but i'm still really glad i read that book because i think it was really good and taught me a lot.
it was the same way with movies - i watched little miss sunshine for the first time when i was pretty young, and she didn't try to keep me from seeing the more inappropriate parts, but she did explain things that i didn't understand. the only part she warned me about was when the brother realizes he's colorblind and can't be a pilot and gets really upset. she said he's going to yell and it's really sad. it wasn't the sex or the raunchy humor that she focused on (she knew that i knew what sex was), but the parts that were upsetting or scary, which makes sense to me.
pulp fiction is one of her favorite movies and we had a poster of it on the wall in our living room, so of course i wanted to watch it, but she told me that i should wait until i was older, not necessarily because it was inappropriate, but because it's the kind of movie that's hard to follow and requires a lot of cultural context to understand. i listened and when i ended up watching it for the first time i totally agreed that i wouldn't have understood it when i was younger.
she used to watch house when it came on and most of the time i didn't watch it with her even though she never said i couldn't because i really didn't like the parts where it would show the inside of a body. if i did want to watch, she would fast forward through those parts for me. i vividly remember watching house with her when thirteen comes out as bi. she paused the show to explain bisexuality to me and it was a huge moment for me as a queer person! the fact that she didn't brush past it or try to hide it from me helped me to learn and grow in my own identity.
the point is, the times when i was most confused or upset or alienated by a piece of media, it was rarely because there was sexual content. having warnings from my mom helped me to be prepared for things that might be beyond my expectations, and with her help i learned how to process and move through those things instead of ignoring them. i also learned that it was okay to feel like i wasn't ready to watch/read something. and i think that's a much safer approach to consuming media than trying to prevent kids from seeing or reading anything challenging until they're a certain age. it's all a process of growing and becoming ready for that kind of thing imo
I keep seeing aggressive "don't let kids read Wicked, it's inappropriate!!!" posts, and they're deeply irritating.
Would I recommend the novel to a random 12 year old I don't know? Probably not! But I first read Wicked at 12, and it's not like it permanently scarred me. It's not like I couldn't follow the plot. I didn't understand all the sociopolitical and religious commentary at 12, but that's why I went on to re-read it multiple times throughout my life. I get more from it each time.
There's sex and violence, yes, but I knew what sex was at 12, and I was seeing violence and war on the news every day. Why's the fictional sex and violence worse? Why should a kid not challenge themself with a book outside their comfort zone? Every kid deserves the chance to wig themselves out with a weird book they don't fully understand yet, and Wicked was mine.
My wife is very fond of a Mitch Hedberg quote I think is relevant here: "Every book is a children's book, if the kid can read."
(Also I think it's weird that people fixate on the puppet sex and the BDSM club, and not the parts where Elphaba bashes someone's skull in, or Turtle Heart gets lynched, or the soldiers abduct Fiyero's entire family as political prisoners. The "sex is evil, violence is fine" moral panic is eternal.)

Tumblr media
"Jungwon”
Silence.
“Baby pleas-”
“No” he responded. “You told me I was the first man you fell in love with. Who's the ‘bus guy’ F/n said you loved before me??”
more under cut! ⬇️
Jungwon was on the couch sitting with his legs and arms crossed. His eyes were slightly furrowed and his lips formed into a slight pout.
It was such an adorable scene. You would've giggled at the sight if you weren't determined to get your boyfriend to forgive you by tonight. He's been depriving you of affection since your hangout with F/n and her boyfriend yesterday, and you just can't stand it anymore.
You were on the armchair diagonal to him. Trying to reason out with him before your patience runs out.
“I wouldn't say love-”
“F/n said that you applied to the same tutor house he went to, even when you didn't need help studying. She also said that you found out his favorite cafe and stayed there just to catch a glimpse of him even when they made shitty drinks.” He stated.
You were honestly surprised at how much he remembered. You recall talking about your ex crush for a solid 5 minutes before moving on to another topic.
“Well-”
“Not only that!” Oh he wasn't finished. “F/n also mentioned how you’d ask your brother to take the long way home so that you could follow ‘bus boy’ and see him again because that's always where he was headed! You hate going home late! You didn't even go to the same school as him! How could I say you were in love with the guy with the amount of effort you put to see him??”
“Yeah well, every girl falls in love with a guy on a bus at least once right?” You tried to reason out.
Jungwon huffed before facing the other side, completely turning away from you.
You sighed before walking over and sitting next to him.
“Babe” you started, hands going up to hold his face so that he'd look at you. “You don't have to worry about anything, okay? Yes I liked him, but that's in the past now. I'm with you now, aren't I? There's no need to be jealous baby” you kissed him on the nose after talking.
Jungwon melted into your touch. “I'm not jealous, I swear. I just wanna know which asshole had your heart first.”
You held back a laugh. You were 100% sure if you laughed right now he will not let you sleep with him tonight.
“Okay, you really want to know?” You asked again.
“Yes.” Jungwon replied, with a cute but serious expression on his face.
“Then let's make it a game”, you replied. “If you can guess who he is with 3 or less of my hints, I'll buy you that new hoodie you wanted—and lots of kisses.”
“And if I lose? I don’t even know the guy.” Jungwon raised his eyebrow.
You simply smiled. “Oh you do know him, trust me. No hoodie if you lose.”
He thought about it for a minute, before eventually agreeing. What's the worst that could happen right?
“Okay, first hint” you started. “He didn't go to the same school as me.”
“I already know that” he whined.
“Oh shush if I tell you something else you'll know who it is immediately”. You softly glared at him before continuing.
“Next, he was in the grade above me.”
He tilted his head slightly. “Okay, that's new. What's the last one?”
You smirked, ‘this is gonna be fun’ you thought.
“The number of the bus he always rode was 726” you replied.
Now he was really confused, his eyebrows were now furrowed and his eyes kept darting around the room. As if the walls around him would give him the answer he's looking for.
“Bus 726? I'm..very lost” he said after a few minutes of thinking.
“Final answer?”
“No wait!” he exclaimed.
You waited for him as you both sat there, the atmosphere so quiet as he thought long and hard about who the mystery man was.
“Was it Jaeyun?” He asked after a long pause.
“Nope”
“Yeonjun?”
“Babe he's like, 3 grades above me.”
“Ricky?”
“We were classmates 5 times.”
“Felix?”
“I barely know the guy.”
“Nicholas?”
“Who?”
“Maybe it's Sungho-”
“Okay!” You grabbed him by the shoulders, cutting him off. “I promise you love, it is none of you friends. I don't even know majority of them”.
Jungwon just looked at you, clueless. “Well if it's not any of my friends, who could it be?”.
You sighed before standing up to grab something from your bag, feeling Jungwon's eyes following you.
“Where are you going?” He asked.
“I’m going to grab my phone, I still have some pics of him from before.” You said as you pulled out the gadget from your shoulder bag and started scrolling through your photos app.
“What?!” Jungwon gasped. “My love, why the fuck do you have pictures of another man in your phone. Just tell me, are you still interested in him?” He asked, stress and hurt evident in his tone.
You started to feel bad at this point, but you can't back out now. This will be the grand reveal.
You sat back down on the couch, scrolling to find a pic of the mystery guy. Meanwhile Jungwon sits next to you, practically hovering over your phone with how close he was.
“Aha!” You exclaimed.
“What? What is it?” Jungwon asked. His eyes are instantly glued on your phone screen. wanting to know what you found.
“I still have the best picture I took of him saved, look!” You turned the phone so that he could see it.
Jungwon made sure to take a good look at the picture, lots of names immediately coming to his mind. But none of them match the face in the picture because he sees himself.
It was a candid picture of him on a bus. He was looking down on his phone, doing something. He doesn't recall how old he is here, but he guesses he was in his early teenage years from the uniform he's wearing in the picture.
“Wait…how do you have this? I don't understand…” Jungwon trailed off.
You mentally face palmed. “Baby, didn't you ride a bus to go home after school? Does Bus 726 not ring any bells at all?”
A few seconds passed, before a light bulb went off his head.
“Oh my god” he muttered. “I'm the bus guy you fell in love with? Your first love?”
You let out a relieved sigh. “Yes, Jungwon, you are my first love.”
Jungwon was shocked. He felt relief and joy all at the same time. But he's still confused over one thing. “Wait but- but how do you have this picture of me? Oh my, were you in the bus stalking me during this??” He asked accusingly.
“What? No!” You retorted. “I took it while I was in the car. You literally mentioned that I follow ‘bus boy’ around in my brother's car like 20 minutes ago, remember?” You defended yourself.
You looked at the picture, suddenly feeling nostalgic. “That was actually the second U-turn my brother did. The bus wasn't moving but I couldn’t tell my brother to stop the car and cause traffic just because I didn’t snap a proper picture of you now could I?”. You laughed at the memory. “My brother was pissed after that”.
“I thought of showing you when I gathered enough courage to talk to you. But by the time I did, you already graduated and changed schools.” You told him with a small sad smile.
“Oh” Jungwon replied. His mouth stayed at an ‘o’ shape as he took the information in.
“Um” he hesitated. “You didn't follow me until I went home, right? Just to make sure you didn't actually stalk me before we met.” He asked.
“What? No!” You retorted, again. “I always stopped following you after the first stoplight. I may be there at places you're usually in without you knowing, but I know where the line is” you reassured him.
Jungwon let out a relieved sigh. “Okay, just making sure…”
“Wait, is this why your brother was like ‘thank fuck it's over’ when you introduced me to your family as your boyfriend?” He asked.
You smiled at him sheepishly. “Yeahh, aside from the U-turns, I asked him a lot of favors regarding you so that's why…”
Jungwon grinned, “I'm your first love.” he was teasing you right now. But deep down, he was glad that the competition he thought he had was only himself. He didn't know what he'd do if he had to fight another man for your love.
You rolled your eyes. “Yeah yeah don't get too excited. You're not getting any hoodie because you didn't guess it right.”
“I don't care,” he responded, still grinning widely. “Me knowing the fact I was your first love is enough of a gift for me. Now, where are my kisses?”
You stood up, preparing to run away from him. “Not a chance babe, you lost!” You said as you dashed down the hallway, heading to your shared bedroom with him.
Not long after he ran after you. “Hey, you didn't say no to kisses if I lost!” He said, laughing as he chased you.
Jungwon is a very jealous man. That's how you know he loves you. Luckily for you, you always know how to reassure him that he's the only one.

Nothing But Net (And Love)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: KK Arnold x Reader
Fandom: UConn’s women’s basketball
POV: First-person
Word Count: 1,400+
Summary: kk is a menace even during the most loving day of the year..
Tumblr media
If there’s one thing I know about KK Arnold, it’s that she’s competitive.
It doesn’t matter if it’s basketball, video games, or even something as small as rock-paper-scissors—she always plays to win.
That’s why, when February rolled around and all our teammates started talking about their Valentine’s Day plans, I wasn’t surprised when KK took it as a personal challenge to come up with the best way to ask me to be hers.
The only problem?
We’d been dating for almost six months.
She didn’t need to ask.
But this was KK we were talking about. She wanted to do it her way.
I should’ve known something was up when she texted me after practice.
KK: Meet me at the gym in 30. Wear something comfy.
Me: …Should I be worried?
KK: Nah, just be ready to lose.
I sighed, already shaking my head.
When I showed up at the gym, KK was already there, spinning a basketball on her finger with a cocky grin.
“Knew you’d come,” she teased, tossing the ball between her hands.
I crossed my arms. “I debated ignoring your text.”
She gasped, clutching her chest dramatically. “You’d ignore me? On Valentine’s Day?”
I rolled my eyes. “What are we doing, KK?”
She smirked. “A little competition.”
I groaned. “Why am I not surprised?”
She dribbled the ball, looking way too smug. “Here’s the deal: One-on-one. First to seven. If I win, you have to be my Valentine.”
I raised an eyebrow. “And if I win?”
She paused, then scratched her head. “Uh… You still have to be my Valentine. But I’ll let you pick the movie for our date.”
I laughed. “So either way, I’m your Valentine?”
She grinned. “Obviously.”
Shaking my head, I grabbed the ball from her. “Fine. But don’t cry when I win.”
The game started off way too easy.
KK let me get a couple of shots in, probably trying to make me overconfident. I wasn’t stupid—I knew she was just waiting to flip the switch.
And sure enough, the second I got my third point, she locked in.
Her defense got tighter, her movements quicker, and suddenly, I was struggling to get a clean shot.
Within minutes, she had tied it up, 4-4.
I huffed, resting my hands on my knees. “Okay, you’re taking this way too seriously.”
She smirked, bouncing the ball. “Nah, I just really want you to be my Valentine.”
I rolled my eyes. “You’re ridiculous.”
She winked. “And you love it.”
By the time the score hit 6-6, we were both sweaty and out of breath.
KK held the ball, dribbling slowly as she looked me up and down. “Final shot. You ready?”
I narrowed my eyes. “Go ahead, Arnold. Let’s see what you got.”
She grinned, then suddenly took off towards the basket.
I moved to block her, but at the last second, she spun away, smoothly laying the ball up and watching it fall through the net.
Game.
KK threw her arms up in victory. “Let’s gooo!”
I sighed, shaking my head as she jogged over to me, still grinning.
“So, does this mean I won?” she asked, clearly already knowing the answer.
I crossed my arms, pretending to think. “I guess…”
She gasped. “Guess? Nah, you gotta say it.”
I sighed dramatically. “Fine. You win, KK. I’m your Valentine.”
She beamed, stepping closer. “Say it again.”
I laughed. “KK—”
“Say it again.”
I rolled my eyes, but my heart was already melting. “I’m your Valentine, KK.”
Her smile softened, and she reached out, gently tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. “Good. ‘Cause you’ve been mine since day one.”
I felt my face heat up, but before I could say anything, she grabbed my hand and laced our fingers together.
“Come on,” she said, leading me toward the gym exit. “I got dinner reservations for us.”
I blinked in surprise. “Wait, what?”
She shrugged, looking smug. “Told you I had to win. I had a whole night planned.”
I laughed, squeezing her hand. “You’re something else, KK.”
She leaned over, pressing a quick kiss to my cheek. “And you love it.”
Yeah. I really, really did.

Word Count: 1,065
A/N: Hello again!! I'm kind of proud of this one, I think it's pretty cute. I'm thinking of making a part two where you guys go on a nice little date, lemme know if you'd read it!!!
“These heels are fucking stupid.” I groan to Penny.
“At least they look super hot.” Penny shrugged, trying to make me feel better.
“Yeah, not on me.” I groan again, stumbling a little.
“Oh don’t give me that.” I nod right away, waving off her comment.
“Right right, sorry.” Penny had told me I need to stop being so negative about myself. Clearly, I wasn’t doing very well.
“I’m so used to flats, how does any woman manage this?! Jesus Christ!” Penny just laughed.
“We’re almost there, sugar, just take it easy.” We rounded a corner and the bar came into view. We walked up the sidewalk towards the door.
“Remind me why I let you convince me into doing this?” She offered me a hand when my ankle bent a little.
“Hot nerd, remember?”
“Right, right. Spencer’s his name?” I ask.
“Yup! You’re gonna love him, everyone does.” She opens the door and we walk in, the loud music reaching my ears within seconds. I can somehow smell every single person’s drink at once. The music is already starting to get on my nerves. This guy better be as hot as Penny insists he is.
“Please tell me he’s here already. I don’t know how long I’ll be able to stand the smell in this place.” My face sours.
“Yeah, yeah! He said he’s somewhere at the bar with Derek!” She looked at me with sympathy. “I promise everything will be alright, I’ll drive you home whenever you’re ready to go.” She smiles and grabs my hand gently.
“Thanks, Pen.” I smile back and let her lead me to the bar. I look down as a bit of hair gets stuck in my lip gloss. I sputter, trying to pull it away. Right when I look up I’m face to face with the infamous Spencer Reid. I notice Penny’s hand is no longer holding my own but I can’t look away from his gaze to find her.
“Hey.” His cheeks are dusted pink, and he offers me an awkward smile. All the words I could possibly say back get caught in my throat. My face is impossibly hot and I can feel every single part of my body practically light on fire. Penny was right…He is insanely hot. I push my glasses up on my face and shake my head.
“Hi, sorry!” I giggle nervously, already embarrassed with myself. “I’m Y/N.”
“Spencer.” He replies. His voice is soft and quiet, like he’s telling me a secret.
“So, Derek and I are gonna go get our groove on!” Penny’s voice pulls me out of my thoughts. I look over at her as does Spencer. “You two lovebirds have fun!” She squeals before dragging Derek off to the dance floor. I stare at them as they walk off, feeling almost betrayed that she would leave me to fend for myself like this.
“Did she drag you here too?” Spencer’s voice pulls me back in. I look over and his eyes are already locked on my own.
“Yeah, she did.” I laugh. “I mean, I can’t say she had to force me. I was looking forward to meeting you. She did have to force me to put on these devil heels though.” I scowl down at my feet. Spencer lets out a breathy chuckle. I look back up at him with a wide smile.
“She did have to force me. I’m not really good with social interactions. But I’m glad I caved and came anyway.” He looked down at his hands, smiling.
“She talked you up a lot, she really wanted me to come tonight.”
“She talked you up too.” He nodded to himself.
“Oh god, what’d she say about me?” I cringe, remembering all the horrible things she knows about me.
“She said you were sweet, and funny. She also may or may not have used the term, ‘smoking hot,’ when referring to you as well.” Spencer huffed out a short laugh, still staring at his hands.
“Oh geez.” I rub a hand over my forehead. “She always makes me sound way better than I actually am.” Spencer finally looks at me again, his smile suddenly gone.
“What do you mean?” His eyebrows furrowed. I worry I upset him somehow.
“Well-” I take a big gulp. “I just mean that she always says I’m ‘super hot’ and makes me sound like some kind of super model, but I’m very far from it.” My reply is met with silence. Great, you already scared him off with your self-deprecation. Can you be normal for even a second?!
“Honestly, how she described you wasn’t correct at all.” Spencer pauses. And this is the part where he admits that he thought I’d be much hotter than I am. “She said you were ‘smoking hot,’ but I’d say you’re much more…’a goddess who walks the earth.’” He thinks for a second before laughing. “God, that was so cheesy wasn’t it?” He brings a hand up to cover his face. I’m beyond stunned. I can’t even bring myself to move a muscle. I can’t even make my fingers so much as twitch. Spencer’s smile fades and his face is still covered by his hand. I start to realize he probably thinks he’s ruined this, just as I did a couple seconds ago.
“I don’t think anyone’s ever said something that kind about me.” Spencer moves his hand and meets my gaze. His face is just as red as mine feels. “Guys always tell me I’m hot or…Something along those lines. But no one has ever said something so…” I pause. “I don’t even have a word for it. I feel like I’m about to burst into tears like a fuckin’ idiot. That was the sweetest thing I have ever heard.” My eyes are watery as I stare up at him. He’s so different. Spencer’s smile returns and his eyes practically fucking sparkle.
“I’m surprised no one’s ever said something like that to you before. Were all the people you met blind perhaps?” I burst out in a fit of giggles. Spencer watches me laugh with the most dopey smile on his face.
“Apparently they might have been.” I laugh. I take a deep breath. “You know…How Penny described you wasn’t quite correct either.” His face falters.
“Am I better or worse than she described?”
“Better.” I respond without missing a beat. “So much better.” I sigh dreamily.

Valentine's Day Surprise (Casey Novak x f!Reader)
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Liv organises a blind date for you on Valentine's Day. Casey is less than pleased about it.
Words: 2.7k
Warnings: Jealousy, implied smut, hints of possessiveness, hair pulling, swearing
“Valentine’s Day is a bit on the nose, isn’t it?”
Casey glanced up, her heart thudding in her chest. You were standing to the side with Liv, your arms crossed over your chest, lips quirking up into a half smile, almost ironic as you looked at her. You’d thrown your hair up into a messy ponytail, your jeans clinging to the shape of your ass perfectly, the afternoon light softening your expression. You were a thing of beauty, one that stole her breath.
And you weren’t even looking at her.
“It’s the only night she’s free this week,” Liv said, “but if you’re not game…”
“No no, I’ll go. But just know that it’s starting out with some serious judgement,” you said.
“Well that’s an auspicious start,” she said.
You laughed, shaking your head in that way that Casey found so endearing.
“I’m just saying, if this works out, it’ll be some story to tell,” you said.
“If what works out?” Casey couldn’t help herself from asking.
Your eyes met hers and she felt her breath still in her chest. You were still smiling, lips curling up, softening as you looked at her. The half step closer you took towards her made her fingertips tingle.
“Liv has set me up on a blind date,” you said. Her heart stopped, “on Valentine’s Day.”
“That’s a bit intense for a first date, isn’t it?” she faintly heard herself ask.
“That’s what I said,” you laughed.
“If you’re so against it I can cancel on her,” Liv said.
“Oh I’ll go,” you said, turning back to her.
Casey turned away, grateful to not be under your watchful gaze anymore. Her face had frozen in the imitation of a smile, trying not to show how her blood had run cold. You laughed again and her heart squeezed painfully.
She glanced over out of the corner of her eye. You were still laughing, mostly to yourself as you moved on to the reports on your desk. Liv gave her a knowing look. She turned away, burning up from the inside out.
The trouble was, she’d been half in love with you for over a year now and hadn’t made a move. It was manageable when she only heard the disastrous results of your dates, but before, when there was still hope in you, when you were looking forward to it, when it was still possible it would go well, she felt something toxic running through her veins. She’d continually told herself it was for the best. You worked together. If you didn’t feel the same or it didn’t work out it would be intolerable.
The way she was feeling now was intolerable.
“Get me something I can use,” she said after listening to Stabler’s excuses.
You bumped your shoulder against her as she passed by you, grinning up at her. Her heart tripped over itself, your warmth blooming over her. She swept out of the precinct, doing her best not to focus on the tumult of emotions you’d awoken in her.
It ate away at her. For days she stewed over the image of you on a date with a faceless woman. The way you’d reach out to her, flirting over drinks, kissing her when you decided she was worth bringing home. The way you would look as someone else lowered themselves between your legs. The burn of not being the one you were with.
She stayed late at work that day. It wasn’t as if she was the one with a hot date on Valentine’s Day. Sinking into work should have helped her forget about whatever it was you were getting up to. It should have chased away the images of you all dressed up and glowing under the attention of another woman. She shouldn’t have dwelled on exactly what you were getting up to in the company of your date.
She slammed her file closed, not able to stop thinking about it. She was failing at ignoring you and was failing at working. All she could focus on was the way you would smile at your date as you led her into your apartment, the slow seduction of peeling off your clothes, the way you’d touch her in your bed.
Just sitting there thinking about it, she could feel her blood boiling beneath her skin.
She shoved her files into her bag, collecting up anything she thought she might need over the weekend. Slamming the door behind her, she strode down onto the darkened street, raising her hand to hail a cab. There was only one way she was going to stop the feeling in her stomach churning until she felt like she would explode.
Your door stared back at her. She’d had the entire cab ride to calm down. It hadn’t worked.
Days of stewing in the image of you with someone else, someone claiming you, you wanting someone who wasn’t her. She was done. She wanted it to be her hands on you, her lips on yours, her body in your bed.
She wanted you.
Hammering her fist against your door, she knew the likelihood of you being in was low. You could still be on your date, or at her place. But on the off chance you were in there with her, this unknown woman who had finagled a date with you on Valentine’s Day in a childish attempt to seduce you, she was going to stop it before it got too far. She wasn’t going to let anyone else have you.
She almost fell forward when you pulled the door open, not truly believing you would be inside. You laughed, catching her around your elbows to keep her upright.
“Well, this is a nice surprise,” you said.
“You’re home.”
Your lips kept ticking up into a wider smile.
“And lucky I was or else you would have bashed my door down,” you said, “what’s up?”
“I…”
She’d been so fired up on the way over that to be presented with you at home was something she hadn’t expected. You weren’t even dressed up in your date clothes. Your sweats and tank top suggested being curled up on the couch with ice cream, not getting hot and heavy with some unseen woman. Without your date, there was no reason for her to be there. She wasn’t interrupting anything.
“How about we start with if you’re here for work or pleasure?” you asked when no proper answer was forthcoming.
“Aren’t you meant to be on a date right now?” she managed to ask.
“Careful, counsellor. You keep on like this and I’ll start to think you wish I hadn’t been here to meet you,” you said, “come on. No point standing in the hall.”
With the hands still holding onto her, you tugged her into your apartment. The door shutting felt like a gunshot, loud to her ears, even as your touch burned through her. It looked as if she’d been right. A tub of ice cream sat abandoned on your coffee table, your tv paused on some romcom. You didn’t bother hiding any of it, seemingly unembarrassed for how she’d found you.
“Did you even go on your date?” she asked, taking in the entire scene.
“Sure,” you replied, “but twenty minutes in we both agreed Liv was way off the money.”
“Liv?” she asked, turning to look at you. This felt more familiar. Gathering the facts to build a case was her bread and butter.
“She set up the date. Didn’t you know that? Some friend from one of the local papers. But she must have been on something when she came up with that idea because there was no chemistry and we certainly had nothing in common,” you replied.
“You weren’t attracted to her?” she asked.
“Oh, don’t get me wrong. She was gorgeous. Just not my type.” You shrugged.
“Oh?” Her heart did something funny in her chest, “what is?”
“Someone smart. Someone with a strong sense of justice. Someone passionate,” you said, “someone who makes me smile.”
Her stomach swooped.
“But I doubt you came here to have a fun girly chat about my failed date,” you said.
You were still smiling at her and there was a twinkle in your eye. Her breath caught at the way you were looking at her, with such fondness. She shook her head, looking away.
“Your ice cream is melting,” she said.
You snorted. She watched you bend to snatch it up, the curve of your ass stretching the fabric of your sweats. She swallowed past the lump in her throat, having to tear her eyes away from you. No need to be caught staring.
“Case, c’mon, why are you really here?” you asked once you’d shoved the carton of ice cream back into your freezer.
You crossed your arms over your chest, pushing up your breasts. Her eyes slipped down, tongue dragging along your lower lip as she stared. What she wouldn’t do to get her mouth on those tits.
“Casey.”
Her eyes snapped back up to yours. There was no mistaking the amusement on your face, nor the way your eyes were twinkling as they looked at her. She felt the flush of embarrassment in her cheeks.
“Come on. You can tell me,” you said, “I promise not to make fun of you.”
“Why would you make fun of me?” she asked.
“Dunno. But whatever you came here for it must be pretty serious if you won’t even say it out loud,” you said.
She took a deep breath, turning away from you. Sinking down onto your couch, she finally released the death grip she had on her briefcase, letting it drop to the ground. The cushions beside her dipped, your body closer than she would have liked while trying to figure out how to move past this.
She’d had a plan. She’d worked it all out in her head on the way over. She should have expected you to send it all to hell the moment you’d opened the door.
“I’m guessing you showing up at my door like this means you didn’t have your own hot date,” you said, your shoulder nudging hers.
She turned her head towards you. You were close enough that her nose brushed yours, breath ghosting over her lips. She couldn’t help her eyes dipping down to your lips. They were so pretty, just begging to be kissed. The thought of someone else claiming them that night had driven her here.
The fire of her anger might have been doused, but the fire of her desire had only flared higher.
She surged forward, lips pressing to yours.Your hands cupped her cheeks, drawing her closer. She might have been all fire, but you were soft, like the petal of a flower, kissing her thoroughly. Any control she’d had slipped away under your touch.
When you lifted yourself, depositing yourself in her lap, straddling her, all she could do was groan. Her hands found your hips, gripping tightly, chin tipped up, so close to begging for more. Your tongue tasted of sugar, strawberry ice cream lingering despite the heat between you. She moaned, clutching you tighter.
Your fingers slipped into her hair, tugging on it in a way that sent a shiver down her spine. Her fingertips dipped below the waistband of your sweats, feeling your soft skin beneath her touch. You moaned into her mouth, hips rocking forward, fingers tightening in her hair. There was something irresistible about you being a moaning mess in her lap.
“Case,” you mumbled against her mouth, “fuck, Casey.”
“Shhh, baby,” she murmured, kissing you again.
You let her, melting against her. You made such a pretty noise, a small whimper crossed with a whine. She let her hands push further into your sweats, grasping your ass over your panties, groaning when she felt the lace against her skin. Your teeth sunk into her lower lip, tugging on it before you pulled back.
Your lips were kiss swollen, eyes blown wide, chest heaving for breath. You were a picture of wanton desire, a painting that should be hung on the wall of the Louvre. Except Casey didn’t want anyone seeing you like this except her.
“Gonna tell me why you were trying to bash down my door now?” you asked.
“I think you know,” she managed to say, surprised she was still capable of forming sentences.
“I want to hear you say it,” you said, “or maybe I should stay on my side of the couch.”
You went to swing one leg off her. The grip she still had on your ass tugged you back, holding you in place, refusing to let you move. Looking down at her, your lips pulled up into a smirk. You tilted her chin up, your other hand burying itself back in her hair, right at the nape of her neck, pulling deliciously.
“Tell me,” you said, a good natured command.
“I don’t like the thought of someone else touching you like this.” She squeezed the globes of your ass.
“You were jealous,” you said.
“I was jealous,” she repeated, jaw clenching.
“And your plan when you showed up here was what exactly?” you asked.
“I was going to interrupt before she could fuck you,” she growled.
“What if we had gone back to her place?” you asked.
“I don’t know.”
You lent forward, breath ghosting over her lips, but your hold kept her from surging up to claim your lips in another bruising kiss.
“And how were you going to convince me to kick a gorgeous woman out of my bed?” you asked.
She growled again, not liking your line of questioning. She certainly didn’t like the images they left in her head.
“By offering you a replacement of higher value,” she replied.
“You have a high opinion of yourself, don’t you?” you chuckled.
“I don’t hear you complaining.”
Using the hands on your ass, she dragged you closer, able to feel the heat emanating from you.
“In fact, you seem pretty fucking pleased right now,” she said.
You lent forward, your nose running along her jaw. She let her head fall to the side, offering herself to you. Even as she argued, she knew you had the upper hand.
“I’m just glad you finally made a move.” Your lips brushed her skin, “took you long enough.”
“What do you mean?”
Any arguments she might have had were scattered to the wind as you kissed a long line to her ear.
“I’ve been dropping hints for months. Did you not notice?” you asked before your teeth closed over her earlobe.
“Why didn’t you make a move then?” she managed to get out despite the moan.
“And miss the chance to see you get all jealous? No chance,” you said, drawing back, “it’s very sexy.”
Your teeth sunk into your own lower lip as you gazed down at her. She could see the smile threatening to break over your face and even as your amusement was at her expense, she found you breathtaking. Her hands slipped from under your sweats, curling around your waist to hold you close.
“I wish you’d told me before,” she said, “we could have been doing this for months.”
“We’re here now,” you said, forehead falling forward against hers.
“But we could be moving to your bed,” she said.
“Oh no. It’s Valentine’s Day and you kept me waiting. You’re going to romance me before I give up the goods,” you said.
“I have to woo you?” she asked.
“You’re the one who came here all self righteous, hoping to do the whole big confession thing,” you laughed.
You clambered off her lap, despite her protests, settling beside her. Resting your head on her shoulder, you curled up against her, reaching for the remote you’d left abandoned when you’d answered the door. She sighed, curling her arm around your waist, keeping you close.
“Alright,” she said, “but just know I was prepared to leave you very satisfied tonight.”
“We have plenty of time for that,” you said.
But when your hand slipped to her inner thigh as you watched the movie, she knew you’d be giving her everything she wanted that night, and every night after.

vi x reader, vi buys the reader some new lacy pink lingerie, and reader feels really self conscious about gaining weight and having new stretch marks, so vi kisses them all over and they have gentle loving sex, with lots of reassurance, before vi makes reader watch in the mirror as vi makes her come over and over (overstimulation?), not stopping until reader admits she’s pretty.
Pretty As The Sunrise
Contains mentions of eating disorder, body image issues, mentions of fatshame, mentions of abusive family and past, trauma trigger
gentle sex and smut, overstimulation, mirror sex, cliff hanger ending
Tumblr media
"Hey, pretty, bought you a little something," Vi said with a little smile crossing her lips, enhancing the scar on her lips as she sat down at the edge of the bed where you were reading a book of yours
"Mhm? You didn't have to," you put the bookmark on the page you paused your reading at, slipping the book onto the bedside table and then turned to face your wife
"Yes, I did, you cook and clean the house and make it a home, always take care of me why won't I just buy a simple gift?" vi pushed the bag towards you, you smiled at the bag and then you looked inside it was a lacy pink lingerie, the material was silk and lace. beautiful baby pink colored fabric and just then it hit you
you and vi hadn't had intercourse for quite a while because she'd been busy and so have you been busy around the house, deep cleaning areas you didn't usually clean
but while doing that you used to get so tired you binge ate a lot of junk food to keep yourself fed because you didn't really have time to prepare meals so often
vi knew that but she didn't really care to comment about your recent weight gain not that she needed to given how insecure you already were for your thick thighs
"princess? what are you thinking? do you not like it?" vi asked and you instinctively pulled the blankets over your thighs so they were now covered.
"oh no no no I love it it's really pretty just... looks a little... yknow like i won't look good in it." you said struggling to get the words out for your throat
you had never told vi how much you struggled with gaining or losing weight since a teenager. you were raised in a somewhat abusive household where relatives would openly comment about weight gain or weight loss.
you could easily lose count of the number of times you were victim to being fat shamed by your family, your sister, your—
"baby..." vi wrapped her arms around you in a hug, "talk to me love what's wrong?"
"I just- I don't think I'll look good in the lingerie is all but I appreciate it baby," you smiled a little at her trying to play cool but vi didn't buy any of it
"lay back, baby," vi suddenly said and you were a little taken back but you complied.
vi pulled back and pulled your pants down along with your panties resting your legs on either side of her body as she knelt down between your thighs, "you look absolutely breathtaking," vi breathed and pulled your shirt up just enough to expose your stomach
"see this?" she kissed all over your stretch marks both new and old, her lips moving from one mark to another with love and efficiency
"all these mark that I treat you well, provide to feed you, and you're doing well," vi kissed all over your stomach before slowly trailing down to your thighs.
"I love the thickness, the meatiness of your body," vi said kissing and biting at your inner thighs leaving a trial of hickeys and lovebites all over the skin
vi pressed a kiss at the top of your pussy before pulling back and pulling you up with herself she made you both face the mirror, her body behind your as she plunged two fingers in your pussy making you gasp
"v-vi..." you whined a little as you felt her fingers starting to move painfully slow as vi's other hand reached to the bedside table's drawers taking out a strong vibrator and held it over your clit making you tremble and whine loudly
the mirror showed your reflection getting absolutely ruined by vi who had a lazy smirk on her face while her fingers delved deep inside your most sensitive spot making you moan incoherently at the sensations
"see I'm making you feel so good," vi said as you let out a soft sigh feeling her shove her fingers further deep knuckles burying inside too
"f-fuck, cumming! cumming!" you whined and finished all over her fingers
vi didn't let that be the end of your pleasure and borderline torment, "go on baby cum more for me admit it youre my pretty angel."
you whined and whimpered as vi pressed the vibrator firmly on your reddened clit, pussy clenching down over her fingers as they increased their pace adding another finger
you were slowly starting to lose track of time as you continued creaming around her fingers neediness increasing but so was your exhaustion increasing with every little thrust into your wet cunt
"v-vi okay fine i admit it," you gasped as your hands grabbed hers tightly so she couldn't move her fingers anymore, "im your pretty angel okay? please stop" you whined a little at the end of your claim, vi smiled gently
her fingers slowly slipped out, a little dribble of arousal following right after before she helped you clean up, being gentle as she pressed up behind you in the shower
you both always took your showers together it was a way of bonding for the both of you
as vi finished before she dried her own hair she started dabbing at yours with the towel, making sure your hair was semi dry before she quickly dried her messy pink hair
vi didn't bother too much with her own hair the pink tufts of her hair sticking out at various angles as she did a little run out of the shower room much to your surprise
she came back with the bag of lingerie, taking the pink fabric, which would barely cover your genitalia, out
"you're wearing this for round two baby."

Anything Juju Watkins, she’s seriously underrated 🙏🏻
FOREVER YOURS - J.W.
Tumblr media
First juju fic....kinda scared....but let me know if I should keep writing for her
"Juju...i already told you," I could feel my frustration bubbling up. Catching her in the act of kissing another girl was not on my bingo card of the year. "It's a no. I don't care what you have to say, we're done."
"baby....please...its not what it looked like," following like a lost puppy, Juju begged. I couldn't care less in the moment.
Her hand wraps around my wrist, trying to stop me from walking further away. I stopped, looking down at the contact. The calmness of her tone, it further the irritation that was brewing.
I ripped my arm from her grip, "I said I don't want to hear what you have to say. Leave me the f-"
"Y/n....calm down...okay."
"No! If you weren't sucking someone's else face...i wouldn't be acting like this!" I spun around, our eyes meeting. The hurt in her eyes made me want to calm down, but nothing was stopping the hurt that I felt. "I really thought I could trust you...and you walked all over me. My trust...my ego...my love for you. I just need some space...please."
Tears swelled in my eyes. Juju's seemed to mirror. "Okay. I can give you space," she looked down, wiping her eyes before looking back at me, "I love you."
I nod. I had nothing else to say. My legs turned me around, walking me out of the packed party. The party, that if I stayed would have burned something within me, was for the women's team defeating the undefeated UCLA. Maybe she got too cocky. But that cockiness just ruined our whole relationship.
2 weeks later....
It's been hard. I missed her more than I would like to admit. Her sarcasm used to fill the awkward moments with friends. Her jokes flowing in conversation resulting in fits of laughter. Then, her presence. It was grounding, calming, and I needed all of that in my life. But Juju was that....and she wasn't here.
I struggled to pull myself out of bed, groaning with the motion. Hating myself and the world had become a more common thing for me these days. I hated myself for not listening to the girl cause what if she really hadn't done anything. Maybe I jumped to conclusions, maybe I was a jerk, maybe I was the one who didn't deserve her. Not the other way around.
Throwing on whatever was near, I made my way out of the sloppy dorm room. Opening the door, to my surprise, I was welcomed with many holding flowers.
"uh...excuse me," he looked down at the small paper attached to the bouquet of roses, "Y/n? These are for you."
"I think you might have the wrong y/n. Nobody is gonna send me anything," I closed my door, locking before turning back around to face the guy.
"Y/n l/n....from Juju Watkins? Does that sound right?"
Shock washed over me. Why would Juju send me flowers? "Um...yeah...yeah that sounds right."
"well," he held them out, "here you go. Have a nice day, ma'am."
"than-thank you." I stood there, flowers in hand, dumbfounded. I couldn't piece together why, the woman I yelled at and refused to say 'i love you' back too, would send flowers to me.
Quickly, I read the small note attached to the stem. Hoping that it would tell me why she would.
'I know your probably not happy with me...but I wanted to send you flowers (even tho Valentine's day was a little while ago...) for V' day. I would never not get you something....but I figured it would have been stupid to send something right after everything went down. Just know, I'm sorry that what happened happened. I'm always ready to talk whenever you are. I love you too much to not wait. Love, Juju'
"it's not too much is it?" Her voice rang through my ears, my head snapping up to meet the girl I've been missing tremendously.
Juju.
Sniffling, I pulled her into a tight embrace, "I've missed you so much." The words mumbled into my shoulder. Her arms tighten their hold on around me, pulling me impossibly closer.
"I've missed you too," a broken chuckle fell from my lips, "even if I don't necessarily like you right now."
Juju's body tensed, "can we talk about...what happened, please?"
I nodded, escaping her hold to unlock the door. Opening it, I step in allowing Juju to follow.
"I'm so sorry you saw me kiss another girl....but I didn't kiss her. She kissed me. I was drunk...she was drunk....she thought I was into her....so she took her shot. I pushed her off of me, but she latched back on as you walked in. I wish I could've been able to stop you from seeing it. I would have told you what happened....i just wish everything would have went down another way. I'm sorry baby." Juju was almost begging for forgiveness. Her words sinking in, my brain deciding whether to trust her or not. Something in the way she let everything just crash through whatever dam was holding it in convinced me, convinced me that she was telling the truth.
"okay."
"okay?"
"I accept your apology and now I want kisses to make up for it," I held my arms out, hoping the girl would just go with it. To my liking, she did.
"God I've wanted to kiss you for weeks," a smirk settled on her lips, well, before her lips crashed onto mine.
My arms snaked around her neck as her hands fell to my waist. Her grip tight and dominant, almost like she would never let me go. Our lips moved against each other like they were made to be kissed by the other. A feeling of familiarity settled within me. Thoughts seemed to not form properly, other than one thought. We were meant to be, and nothing was going to get in the way of that again.
Once we were both on the verge of not breathing, we broke apart. Smiles stretched across both of our faces as the realization set in.
"I love you more than anything," I whispered, resting my head on her shoulder. Juju's arms pulling me into a hug, the warmth of her embrace calming me. The grounding feeling I had been missing not even an hour ago.
"I love you too, Y/n. More than my own life," the words seemed to effect me more than they had ever before. I felt like she truly meant it.
Nothing would ever break my trust in her again.
------------
A/n : ha...ha....if this is trash, let me know and I won't ever write for juju again.
But if y'all like....let me know and I'll definitely write for her again.
(I'm truly in love with this woman....shes another one of my wives.)

you waited outside on the curb for him to pick you up. it was just starting to get dark and you could see the sun setting behind the buildings. the concrete was cold on your bare legs, your dress only coming to mid thigh. but you couldn’t stand anymore, your feet throbbing from your shoes. you stared down and the pavement, pushing a pebble around with your finger as you sniffled. you had mostly stopped crying once changbin said he was on his way. your heart was still shattered, but somehow, knowing that he was coming made you feel better. though you were sure you still looked crazy to anyone who may be passing by. if you thought about it too much, how stupid you look and feel, a fresh wave of tears fills your waterline. so you try to think about something else.
you try, and you fail.
all you can think about is his stupid smile. how he made you feel so loved. so.. important. until he invited you to dinner tonight, only to dump you before you had even finished your salad. your eyes welled up again.
“fuck..” you said to yourself, voice watery. you threw the pebble, watched it skitter across the street as a car pulled up and parked a few feet from you. you recognized that car.
the door opened and changbin got out, rushing to your side. “are you okay?” he was crouching next to you, holding you at arms length, assessing you for injuries like you told him you were in a car crash or something. “look at me.” he put his fingers under you chin and turned your face up to him. “oh.. y/n..” his heart broke when he saw your tear stained cheeks, your red puffy eyes and running mascara. he did his best to wipe your tears with his fingers. “what happened?”
you were so relieved to see him. he was the person who was closest to you, the one you would trust with anything. that’s why he was your first thought when you needed someone to come save you. but as comforted as you were by his presence, getting dumped still really hurt. and the tears returned with his question. they spilled down your cheeks and over his fingertips. “he..” you hiccuped. “he dum-dumped me.” you struggled to get the words out, changbins sweet face and thick frame glasses blurring through your watery eyes.
he was suddenly filled with rage. how dare he dump you and then leave you stranded and crying? heartbroken and no way to get home? he wanted to track him down and give him a few swings for treating you this way.
he would never treat you this way
that thought had been crossing his mind recently. every time you found some new loser to date only to be left heartbroken a few weeks later. though, this asshole had lasted the longest, managing to stay around for six or so months. and changbin wanted to beat some sense into him. or just punch him until he felt better. but, you needed him right now. so he pushed aside the thoughts of violence, the thoughts of sticking up for you, the thoughts of treating you the way you deserved to be treated. he pushed all of those thoughts deep down and helped you up off the curb. you stood on shaky legs and he noticed that your feet were bare, your shoes discarded on the sidewalk.
he sighed at your recklessness. he looked at you, and then your shoes on the ground. “my feet hurt..” you said, your voice still broken.
“prince bin?” he asked, though it was more of a statement than a question. he bent over and grabbed your shoes, handing them to you. and then he scooped you up. one of his arms behind your shoulders and one of them under your legs, he carried you in his arms and placed you down into the passenger seat of his car, careful not to hit your head. he was used to doing this, though he hadn’t done it in a while. you liked to go out with your friends occasionally, have some drinks, and changbin would always come and scoop you up when you were too wasted to walk to the car. you drunkenly called him a prince one evening, (though he thought you probably meant knight) and the title kind of stuck. he thought ‘prince’ was an apt title, considering the way he held you was technically called a princess carry.
but as changbin started the engine and pulled from the curb, he thought it was more like a.. bridal carry. and that made him smile.
______๑♡๑______ ______๑♡๑______ ______๑♡๑______
about a month had passed since that night and not much had changed. you still went on random dates, with random guys, just searching for the one who would make you feel special. the one who would treat you like you were the most important thing in the world. that’s all you wanted. you just wanted to feel loved. to have silly little inside jokes, and hold hands, and have fake arguments about who loves who more. but so far all you’ve found are assholes and idiots. sometimes both at the same time.
“i think im going to take a break from dating.”
changbin rolled his eyes, grabbing the popcorn from the microwave and dumping it into a bowl. he returned back to where you were on the couch, drowning in a fuzzy blanket. “i’ve heard that one before.”
“no, bin, i’m serious this time. fuck all these guys.”
“you say that but you’ll swoon at the next cute guy that looks your way.” he laughed.
“i just want to find my person.” you said, a little defensive. “there’s nothing wrong with that.”
he immediately felt bad for his comment. he was just kidding. but he knew this was a sensitive topic for you right now. “i know, bubs. i didn’t mean anything. i’m just teasing.”
you let out a loud exhale. “i know, bin. i’m just frustrated with all of it. when will it be my turn? you know?”
he nodded. oh he knew too well. he often had the same thought. when would it be his turn? his turn to take you out. to kiss your cheek. to hold your hand. “you’ll find your person.” he said, looking down at the popcorn. you couldn’t see the sadness in his eyes in the darkly lit room, but you could pick up on his vibe.
“you’ll find your person too, you know.” you said, nudging his large bicep with your elbow. “i know you’ve been single for a long time, and your job is demanding, and it’s difficult with valentine’s day coming up-“
“gee thanks, y/n. you’re really making me feel better.”
you both giggled. “i mean it though!” you smiled. “you’ll find your person. i know it.”
and he smiled back at you, knowing in his heart he had already found his person. he had found you a long time ago. but you hadn’t found him yet.
he threw a piece of popcorn at you. it bounced off your cheek and landed somewhere in the blanket. “hey!” you giggled, reaching for the bowl. but he held it out of your reach. you struggled against him, trying to reach for some retaliation popcorn but it was no use.
“bubs, i don’t know why you’re throwing popcorn.” he teased, laughing. “we’re adults. let’s watch the movie.”
“you were throwing popcorn! not me!” giggling, you returned to your spot, pulling the blanket up around your middle. “i want some popcorn too.” you pouted, pressing play on the movie.
“ah.. see i don’t know if i can trust you not to throw it at me.” he grinned.
“you started it!”
“i don’t recall that.” he smirked. he grabbed a few pieces of popcorn and held them up to your mouth. “open.” he said.
and you didn’t know why, but you felt his words in your tummy. they grew wings and fluttered around, flushing your cheeks. you did as he asked and opened your mouth. he dropped the pieces in and smiled, before facing back toward the movie, shoveling popcorn into his own mouth.
what was that? you wondered. why did that fluster you? you had been best friends with changbin for as long as you can remember. but you don’t remember ever feeling.. flustered around him? of course, you knew he was attractive. the man was so incredibly handsome. there was no denying that. and he was funny and sweet. but you never allowed yourself to go there. never wanting to ruin the friendship you had built with him. but.. this was a new development. you tried to shove it down, tried to forget about it and enjoy your movie night. he held another handful of popcorn up to your lips, dropping them in. you chewed, happily. feeling content but also, warm. his body radiating heat. you scooted a little closer to him, as much as you dared, your knee touching his thigh.
he fed you some more popcorn as he tried not to hyperfixate on where your bodies were touching. he tried to relax, play it cool, but his heart was hammering.
you eventually fell asleep, as you always do during movies, your head falling against changbins shoulder. as the credits rolled he looked down at you, admiring you from this awkward angle. your long eyelashes tickled your cheeks. his hand found yours under the blanket, but he didn’t grab it. didn’t try to interlock your fingers. he just gently brushed his pinky against yours, enjoying the moment. but it didn’t last as long as he would have liked.
you made a confused noise as you stirred awake. you lifted your head from his shoulder, rubbing sleep out of your eyes. your hair was standing up, your cheeks puffy. “did i..” you yawned. “did i fall asleep?”
“you always fall asleep during movies.”
“sorry, bin. i was just so comfortable i guess.” you stretched your arms out in front of you, your lazy gaze looking over at him.
he started at you for a moment, before..
“you’re so cute.”
it just fell out of his mouth. and it wasn’t the worst thing he could have said. it wasn’t a full on love confession, but he definitely said it in a way that suggested he wanted to be more than friends. he internally chastised himself.
the butterflies returned to your tummy, still confusing you. you looked away, out of embarrassment, struggling with these new feelings you were having for your best friend. were they new feelings? or were you just now allowing yourself to feel what you had been feeling all along? you didn’t know.
changbin cleared his throat. “i should get going.” he said. “it’s late. i have practice in the morning and you need some sleep.”
you nodded sleepily, and stood to walk him out. you crossed your arms over you chest, suddenly cold without the blanket or his body heat. you dreaded crawling into your cold bed and the thought crossed your mind that it wouldn’t be so cold if changbin was there with you. you blinked hard, clearing the thought from your brain. at the door, he hugged you like always, mumbling a “g’night bubs.” into your hair.
you waved goodbye to him and latched the door shut behind him. your apartment felt dark and cold and lonely without him. and it made you sad. you pulled yourself in between your ice cold sheets and tried not to think about changbins arms wrapped around you.
______๑♡๑______ ______๑♡๑______ ______๑♡๑______
“so you just like, dropped popcorn into her mouth?”
changbin nodded. “yeah and i’m surprised she couldn’t see my hand shaking.” he smiled then, remembering. “you should have seen her face though. she’s never blushed like that because of me.”
“so maybe it’s time to tell her..?” chan sing-songed while tickling changbins sides.
“what if it ruins everything, hyung?”
changbin lounged on the couch in the practice room, his sweat soaked shirt sticking to his body. he took a drink from his water bottle, swatting chan’s hands away, catching his breath.
“it’s time to finally do something.” chan said. “if it doesn’t work out, then you’ll know and can move on. instead of pining over her for the rest of your life, yeah?”
“i guess so.” changbin ran his hands through his hair. “im just so scared.”
“y/n is your best friend. even if she doesn’t feel the same way, she wouldn’t stop being your best friend. she’s not like that.”
changbin nodded. “you’re right. i just need to get on with it.”
he noticed jisung giggling over his phone in the corner and started to ask him what was so funny, but minho called practice back together before he could.
they both stood, chan patted changbin on the back. “you’re seo changbin. you’re spearB! you can do anything.”
changbin scoffed. “that was cheesy, hyung.”

it was the dreaded day. valentine’s day. you obviously didnt have a boyfriend to spend it with, and you didn’t really have friends to spend it with either. they all had their own relationships. all except for changbin. but with your budding new feelings, you were worried to spend it with him.
but none of that really mattered because you hadn’t heard from him? you had texted him this morning, right before you clocked in for work. and you checked it on your lunch break and there was nothing. and now it was time to head home and you were a little disappointed when you saw no notifications. but you tried not to let it get to you. he does have a very busy and demanding job. but you couldn’t help the thoughts creeping in that maybe he noticed your strange behavior last night. maybe he was worried you were attracted to him and he was pulling away. it made your stomach hurt to think about it.
but the whole way home you couldn’t help but think about it. by the end of your bus ride, you were physically ill. you had convinced yourself that you had ruined everything. that he didn’t want to be your friend anymore because he thought you were into him and that scared him. you had ruined an entire friendship spanning years and years because you couldn’t control yourself around his popcorn? you thought you may cry.
approaching your apartment, you noticed your welcome mat was crooked. the message said “welcome-ish” in swirling font and underneath that in parentheses said “depends on who you are and how long you plan to stay” though the print has faded over time. you kicked the mat back into place and slipped your key into the lock. clumsily opening the door, dragging your tired and depressed feet into the dark apartment. you toed off your shoes before flicking on the light.
and that’s when you saw him.
changbin stood in the middle of your living room, in a black button down shirt with matching black silk tie. his black slacks looking freshly pressed. his black dress shoes freshly shined. he was standing next to a table that he had set up, complete with two chairs, tablecloth, and lit candles. the entire ceiling was filled with red and pink heart shaped balloons, their curly strings cascading down. he held a small bundle of roses in his hands and he looked incredibly nervous. so handsome, but nervous.
“changbin..?” you quietly asked, stepping further into the apartment.
he cleared his throat. “uh.. hey bun.”
he brought one of his hands up to his ear, tugging on his earlobe. a nervous tick of his that he’s had the entire time you’ve known him.
you waited, staring, unsure of what to say or what was even going on and honestly, all you could think about was how handsome he looked and how you looked awful. your work clothes stained and dirty, your hair a matted mess on top of your head.
“i think i probably have some explaining to do.” he said. “well, i have a confession to make i guess.”
your heart started beating irregularly in your chest. was this what people meant when they say their heart ‘skipped a beat’?
you walked closer to him, noticing now the smell in your apartment. it smelled good. your stomach rumbled.
“these are for you..” he held the roses out and you took them from him. they really were beautiful. they were pink and smelled like spring time.
you started to thank him but he cut you off. “i just.. i need to get this out first before i chicken out.” he said.
“my apartment is filled with heart shaped balloons, bin. i think it’s too late to change your mind now.” you joked. he chuckled, your teasing seemingly making him feel a little bit better.
“i guess you’re right.” he smiled. “i.. like you.” he reached out and delicately took the flowers from you, placing them on the table. and then he took your hands in his and looked into your eyes. his hands were sweaty and shaking slightly, so you gave them a reassuring squeeze. “no, like isn’t the right word.” he paused, thinking. “i want to use the word love, but i don’t want to scare you.” his eyes softened. “but bun.. that’s what it feels like. and i’ve felt this way for so long now. i don’t think i can stand to see you cry over another idiot guy who doesn’t deserve you. who doesn’t treat you right. i’ve been silent because i didn’t want to ruin what we have. you’re my best friend in the whole world and i would never want to jeopardize that.” he swallowed and took a deep breath. “but, i love you bubs.” he exhaled, feeling relieved at finally saying it out loud to you. “i want to be the one to take you out. to hold your hand, and to cuddle you at night. i know i can treat you the way that you deserve to be treated. if.. if you’ll have me.”
“bin..” you reached up and grabbed his face between your palms. “i wish you would have told me sooner. maybe.. maybe if you would have said something before, it wouldn’t have taken me so long to realize that.. i love you too.” you smiled.
his face absolutely lit up. his eyes went wide and his smile grew large. “really?” he asked, feeling like he was dreaming. like he needed to make sure he heard you correctly. you nodded, tears welling up in your eyes. “say it again.” he said.
“i love you, bin.”
he grabbed you around your waist and lifted you off the ground, spinning you in a soft circle. “again!” he giggled.
“i love you!” you giggled back.
he sat you on your feet and looked into your eyes again. he tucked your hair behind your ear and stroked your cheek with his thumb. “you have no idea how long i’ve been waiting to hear that. but..” he tilted his head back and forth, thinking. his lips in a smirk. “i love you more.”
“not true!” you argued.
______๑♡๑______ ______๑♡๑______ ______๑♡๑______
“wait, you cooked?”
he chuckled. “i tried. i hope it tastes okay.”
you stuck your fork in the pasta, bringing it to your mouth. “i thought you only cooked for sustenance. wait, does this spaghetti have protein powder in it?”
he stuck his tongue out at you from across the small table. “very funny. just try it. i wanted to try cooking for you. i need to know if i should never do it again.”
you took a bite, chewing slowly. it was actually really good. “binnie, this is delicious.”
his shoulders relaxed and he took a bite of his own. “wow, it’s not terrible.” he said, chuckling. “i didn’t know i could do that.”
you ate your meal and sipped on some wine and talked about your day, just like normal. turns out, he hadn’t been answering your texts because he had been here setting all of this up. he used the spare key that you kept under your mat to let himself in. he said it took forever to blow up all the balloons and he was worried you would come home to find him passed out on the floor, surrounded by half filled balloons. only then did he discover that they only floated if they were filled with helium. so then he had to figure that out. and it took him even longer to cook the pasta, really working hard to make sure it was right. and he used your shower to wash up (if you thought about that for too long it made you squirmy) and he put on his nice clothes. then he says he waited in ‘a state of panic’ for you to finally come home.
“i can’t believe you did all of this for me.” you said, leaning back in your chair, sipping your wine.
“i wanted you to know how special you are to me.” he stood up and grabbed your plate, taking them both to the sink. he rolled up the sleeves of his button up, exposing his muscular forearms. you weren’t sure if it was the wine, but you had plenty of thoughts about those forearms. he began washing the dishes, the sound of running water filling the apartment. you finished your wine and brought it to the sink, sitting it on the counter next to the dirty cutlery. you looked at him, admiring his appearance. he really filled out his shirt nicely. it was spread tightly against his broad chest, the buttons barely hanging on.
“bun, you’re staring.” he smirked.
“sorry. you just look.. so good.” you confessed. “plus, i can openly stare now without fear of making you uncomfortable. it’s not.. making you uncomfortable, is it?” you pulled your eyes away from his biceps and looked up to his eyes. he was smiling, the tips of his ears a light pink.
“i don’t mind if you look. want me to take the shirt off and flex?”
your jaw fell open, your core pulsed. “don’t tease about that.”
he turned the water off and dried his hands with the towel. he walked over and touched your cheek again, cupping it in his palm. his eyes were darker now, and his thumb grazed across your bottom lip. “i’m not teasing.” he said, his voice low.
you thought your knees may give out. you grabbed his arms, steadying yourself. you had never seen this side of him before. had never seen him flirt and be so.. sexy. he leaned down, his nose brushing against yours, your erratic breath mingling with his. he waited.
“binnie..” you exhaled. “kiss me.”
he slowly brought his lips to yours, placing a delicate kiss on your lips. it started off slow and sweet but soon became a little more heated when he slipped his tongue into your mouth. you brought your hands up around his neck, tangling them in his hair. he kissed down your jaw and to your neck, licking and nibbling at the soft skin there. you threw your head back, panting. “bin.. let’s go to my room?” you phrased it as a question because you didn’t want him to feel pressured. after all, he had only confessed his feelings for you an hour ago. you didn’t want him to feel like things were moving too fast.
but he immediately bent down and scooped you up in his arms. “prince bin.” he mumbled against your lips, carrying you through your apartment and to your bed.
and you smiled into the kiss, your heart so full you thought it may burst. if you thought about it too hard you were sure that you would start crying. because you knew.. you had found your person. and he had been here all along.

Heyyyy been missing your writing had an idea of Rosie going to billies show for the first time? Please? If not that's fine
FIRST SHOW
Tumblr media
Billie Eilish x Fem!Reader
Warnings: fluff, that’s like all
Synopsis: it’s Ro’s first time going to one of billie’s concerts, and she can’t contain her excitement
Tumblr media
Rosie had always known her mommy was Billie Eilish, but to her, that was just a name. Just something other people called her. Because at home, Billie wasn’t some worldwide superstar—she was just Mommy. The one who made her pancakes shaped like bears, the one who let her sit on her lap during movie nights, and the one who sang her to sleep every night.
So when y/n finally told Rosie that she’d be going to Billie’s show for the first time, the little girl screamed.
“I get to see Mommy sing? Like, for real?”
Y/n laughed as she helped her daughter pick out her outfit for the night. “Like, for real.”
Rosie gasped, dramatically placing a hand on her chest. “I need to look so cool.”
Y/n bit back a smile. “You always look cool, baby.”
The moment they arrived at the venue, Rosie’s excitement reached an entirely new level. Dressed in an oversized Billie Eilish hoodie (courtesy of her mommy, of course), her tiny noise-canceling headphones hanging around her neck, she held y/n’s hand tightly as they were escorted backstage.
Rosie’s big brown eyes widened as she took in the busy energy around her—crew members running around, instruments being tuned, cameras flashing. It was a whole new world.
And then—
“BUG!”
Before Rosie could even react, Billie sprinted towards her, scooping her up into her arms.
“Mommy!!!” Rosie giggled, throwing her arms around Billie’s neck. “I’m at your show!”
Billie kissed her cheeks repeatedly, making Rosie squeal. “You are at my show! And you look so cute, bug, oh my god.”
Rosie pulled back just enough to give Billie an intense look. “Mommy, I’m so excited.”
Billie let out a soft laugh, rocking Rosie side to side. “Are you ready to watch me sing?”
Rosie nodded aggressively. “Yes! But—” she held up a finger, “—can you sing Mommy Song first?”
Y/n covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.
Billie raised an amused brow. “What song, baby?”
Rosie blinked up at her. “I Love You,” she said, as if it were obvious.
Billies heart melted. “Bug… I love you so much.”
“I know,” Rosie grinned, poking Billie’s cheek. “That’s why you gotta sing it first!”
When the show finally started, Rosie was mesmerized.
She had seen Billie sing before, of course—but never like this. Never with flashing lights and thousands of people screaming her mommy’s name.
Rosie stood on y/n’s lap in the VIP section, wearing her little headphones, her eyes huge as she watched Billie move across the stage.
“She’s so cool,” Rosie whispered, completely in awe.
Y/n kissed the top of her head. “She really is, baby.”
And then, during a quieter moment in the show, Billie looked towards their section.
“This is a really special night for me,” she said into the mic, a warm smile spreading across her face. “Because my baby—my little bug—is here at my show for the very first time tonight.”
Rosie’s eyes lit up as the crowd cheered.
Billie looked directly at her and said, “Hi, bug.”
Rosie gasped. “SHE SAID HI TO ME.”
The crowd lost it.
Billie grinned. “This one’s for you, baby.”
And when the first chords of I Love You started playing, Rosie immediately turned to y/n, whispering very seriously, “I told you she would sing it first.”
Y/n laughed, hugging her daughter tight. “Yeah, baby. You were right.”
And for the rest of the night, Rosie didn’t take her eyes off her mommy—not even once.

OMG I LOVE YOUR WRITING FOR NAGUMO ON VALENTINES DAY PLEASE WRITE MOREEEE!!!! Like if you don't mind the request.. I was thinking like in the future... like the aftermath of the whole fake girlfriend thing and nagumo and Y/n a retired assassin meet again at sakamotos store! :DDD she could be like Hana's teacher or smth idk trying to live a normal life lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
—𝑴𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔
⏳,, angst & fluff , one-shot , slight suggestive
. 🕰 You thought you left that world behind—cold missions, whispered secrets, and a certain infuriating assassin, but fate had other plans.
Tumblr media
After Sakamoto retired to focus on his life, you soon followed suit, especially after hearing that your dear friend was going to be a father. You had left the world of assassins behind, choosing to live a quiet, normal life as Hana’s teacher.
To be honest, becoming a teacher had never been in your plans. But you had your reasons.
First, you wanted to protect Hana. If anyone ever placed a bounty on Sakamoto’s head, his daughter could be caught in the crossfire. Second, kids were just too damn adorable.
This was what you called paradise, surrounded by cheerful children, including Hana, whose laughter brightened even your darkest days.
Shrugging, you picked out your outfit for the day, settling on something casual. Today, you were going to spend time with Hana, maybe tutor her a little.
Maybe I should get her a toy… you mused. It wasn’t a special occasion, but you simply enjoyed spoiling her. You made sure, of course, that your favoritism didn’t become too obvious in class.
With your bag packed, you headed out, making your way to Sakamoto’s convenience store.
Humming softly, you watched the town come to life around you. Children ran past, laughing as they played. A man stepped out of a shop, adjusting the bag in his arms. In the distance, a couple sat at a restaurant, talking in hushed voices, hands brushing over the table.
The sight tugged at something in your memory.
A mission.
A night.
Yoichi Nagumo.
Tumblr media
"I’m sorry, sir and ma’am, but we can’t let you enter unless you’re a couple," the staff member said, their tone firm yet apologetic.
You clenched your jaw, irritation prickling at your skin.
"I already told you—we are a couple." Your grip on Nagumo’s hand tightened, a subtle warning. Nagumo, ever the observer, noticed your irritation but simply smiled at the staff, letting you do the talking.
The two of you stood in the lobby of an exclusive couples-only nightclub. The entire concept was ridiculous, but unfortunately, your target—one of the club's founders—frequented this place. The original plan had been simple, pretend to be a couple to gain access. But neither of you had anticipated just how strict the entry requirements would be.
You had no intention of holding hands, and you were sure Nagumo didn't either—at least, that was until the staff eyed the both of you suspiciously. Without hesitation, Nagumo had laced his fingers through yours, his grip firm, silent reassurance hidden beneath his usual amusement.
You had been caught off guard, embarrassed, even. You had tried pulling away, only for him to squeeze tighter, his message clear: Play along. It’s for the mission.
And so, there you stood, hands entwined, shoulders brushing as you faced the skeptical staff. "If you have proof that you’re a couple, then you may go in," the staff said.
A nerve twitched in your temple. Proof? Proof of what? That you were together? That you were in love?
"Such as?" you asked, voice clipped. "Well, for instance…" The staff hesitated, struggling for an example. You exhaled sharply, patience thinning. You were about to speak when suddenly-
Nagumo tugged you closer.
You barely had time to process the movement before his face was mere inches from yours. His breath ghosted over your lips, dark eyes staring into yours with something unreadable.
Your nose brushed against his, and then—Soft. Warm.
Nagumo kissed you.
Your world stilled.
Your mind scrambled for logic, reason, anything, but all you could register was the heat of his lips, the way his fingers tightened around yours, how effortlessly he melted into the role.
When he pulled away, he turned to the staff with his signature closed-eye smile. "Like this?" His voice was smooth, nonchalant, as if he hadn’t just stolen something from you.
Your first kiss.
You stood frozen, your heart hammering against your ribs. Your cheeks burned, the heat unbearable.
The staff gawked, clearly not expecting that as proof. Nagumo chuckled at their stunned silence. "What? Do you want us to fuc—"
"NAGUMO!" You shouted his name, mortified, and immediately bowed to the staff.
"I’m sorry for his behavior," you said through gritted teeth.
The staff, still flustered, waved their hands. "I-It’s fine… Sorry for doubting you both. You may go in. "You shot Nagumo a glare as you yanked your hand from his grip the moment you were out of the staff’s sight.
"You stole my first kiss."
"Stole?" he echoed, his smirk widening. "I was meant to be your first kiss."
That night, you felt something shift. Your heart betrayed you, drawn to his warmth.
And yet, that was also the night you vanished from his life.
Completely.
Tumblr media
You shook off the memory, stomach twisting at the thought.
You had buried that part of your life—him— long ago. Yet, even now, your chest tightened at the mere memories. Sighing, you quickened your pace, spotting the convenience store up ahead.
Sakamoto had recently hired a new employee, a girl. You had been curious about her and decided today was the perfect chance to surprise both her and Sakamoto.
Aoi had texted earlier, saying she’d be out with Hana, which meant more free time for you. You stepped toward the entrance, completely unaware of what awaited you inside.
The automatic doors slid open.
You froze.
Sakamoto stood behind the counter, as usual, but beside him sat a girl munching on pizza, completely unfazed. Shin, his blond hair disheveled, looked utterly bewildered.
But the real shock?
A man, tall and lean, dressed in a red-patterned polo, was choking a pizza delivery guy with just his arm, his grip like iron. The delivery guy wheezed, struggling.
"See? Just like I told you," the black-haired man said, smiling as if he weren’t seconds away from snapping the poor guy’s neck.
"I don’t like lies." His voice was light, playful even, but laced with unmistakable menace as he gave the blonde one of his infamous closed-eye smile.
Shin tensed, raising his guard as the man’s grip tightened. "Nagumo, wait." Sakamoto’s voice was calm but firm while an unfinished pizza laid on his hands.
At his words, Nagumo immediately let go, letting the delivery guy collapse to the ground without so much as a glance.
He turned to Sakamoto. "Don’t tell me you’re going to try to get through this without killing—"
"Chi…?"
The name left your lips before you could stop it.
Nagumo’s entire body stiffened. His head snapped toward you, eyes widening.
For the first time in years, you locked eyes with him.
And in the next heartbeat-
Two arms wrapped around you, pulling you into a crushing embrace. You didn’t know what was happening. Heck, even Nagumo didn’t know why he was acting like this.
The only thing he knew was that his soul ached for you, craved you, missed you.
Every part of him did.
His grip on your clothes tightened, his body pressing closer as if afraid you’d slip through his fingers again. You had once again appeared in his life. This time, he wouldn’t waste the opportunity.
The same day the mission was completed, you had vanished without a word.
And that was the day he had been waiting for, the day he was finally ready to take you seriously.
But he had lost his chance.
And now, fate had handed him another one.
This time, he wasn’t letting you go.
"Huh—" You barely got the sound out before he held you even tighter, silently telling you not to say anything.
"I missed you," he murmured, voice low, raw.
A lump formed in your throat. You weren’t sure what shocked you more—his words or the way your heart clenched at them.
Your breath hitched, hands hovering in the air, unsure of whether to push him away or pull him closer.
He was warm.
Too warm.
And it scared you.
You had spent years convincing yourself that what happened that night meant nothing, that Nagumo was nothing but a fleeting part of your past. But here he was, holding you as if you were something precious, as if you belonged in his arms.
And the worst part?
A part of you wanted to stay there.
"Nagumo," you finally muttered, your voice unsteady.
At the sound of his name, he exhaled sharply against your neck, his grip on you tightening for just a moment before he finally pulled away, but not too far.
His hands remained firm on your waist, his dark eyes scanning your face as if committing every detail to memory. There was something unreadable in his gaze—something raw, something unspoken. You swallowed hard.
"You’re acting like I was the one who disappeared," you forced a scoff, trying to ease the tension, but your voice betrayed you, quieter than you intended.
Nagumo didn’t smile.
For the first time in a long time, the usual teasing glint in his eyes was gone, replaced by something real.
"You were," he murmured.
Your heart lurched. Before you could say anything, Shin’s voice cut through the moment.
"Wait, what the hell is going on here?!"
You flinched, suddenly aware of your surroundings again. Shin looked absolutely dumbfounded, glancing between you and Nagumo like he had just witnessed something illegal. The girl beside Sakamoto continued eating her pizza, watching the scene unfold like it was a drama playing out in real-time, but she too was confused. Sakamoto, who knew everything simply let out a small sigh.
Nagumo finally smirked, his usual playfulness returning as he turned to Shin. "What? Didn’t I tell you? She’s my little runaway."
Your brows furrowed. "I am not your—"
"And now that I’ve found her again," he interrupted, shooting you a knowing look, "I’m never letting her go."
Your stomach twisted.
The weight of his words settled in your chest, a dangerous promise laced with something even heavier—something terrifying.
Because for all your years of running, all your years of trying to forget… You knew.
Nagumo never made empty promises.

. [📜] This is my first time writing a request so I apologize if I wrote something not to your liking. I wanted to integrate some angst to it... But anyway, I'm glad you liked my nagumo fic! :) p.s the header I used from the start is what I imagine you and nagumo's date will be. (Sorry if I published this late since my tumblr has been acting up and it's annoying)
ˏ 「🗝」 Mission: Heartstrings = Missions are usually about strategy and precision, but this one? It’s about emotions—specifically, the unbreakable bond between the you and Yoichi.
The "Heartstrings" part adds a soft, romantic touch, showing that despite all the danger and the years apart, their hearts are still connected. It’s like saying, "Oops, this mission wasn’t just about work… feelings got involved!" It perfectly captures how Nagumo and the reader are tied together, whether they like it or not
Reblogs are highly appreciated, commenting is encourage as I always read comments, they motivate me. Please do not repost on other platforms or translate into other languages without my permission. The idea is mine and purely original, do not steal. Any similarities are purely coincidental unless stated otherwise

happy valentine’s day everyone! hope you guys enjoy this. could possibly make this a series if it’s liked enough. love ya!!!
Tumblr media
walking around camp half blood at this time of year seemed to mock you. the fellow aphrodite’s kids seemed to be focused on finding a valentine. now, dot get it twisted. you wanted a valentine. bad. the only problem with this was, well, your intense and completely obvious crush on percy jackson. something about his confidence and charismatic aura drew you in and ruined you for anyone and everyone else.
there was another problem with this. percy jackson happened to be your best friend. you had tried everything to get these feelings to go away. dating other camp members, having different flings, setting percy up with other people, and tartarus, you even had people give you love potions. nothing worked. it was getting unbearable for everyone surrounding the two of you. in particular, annabeth and grover seemed the most annoyed.
the pair had also tried to help you guys understand how perfect you two would be together. however, you and him both refused any sort of insinuation of romance. it’s not that you didn’t want to be with him. quite the opposite, actually. you just didn’t see the point of wasting your friendship by risking him not feeling the same way. keeping him close as a friend was better than loosing him.
infact, you had encouraged him to ask another camp member out. this led you to your current predicament, watching him as he walked with kailey ( a girl from cabin five ). this had been his choice—he insisted she was ‘interesting enough’. you could see by the look on his face that he didn’t truly enjoy her company all that much.
“ya know, this could all be avoided if you just told him how you feel.” annabeth said from next to you, throwing a pointed look in your direction. you chose to ignore the sarcastic tone of her voice as she spoke.
“how i feel? i feel like he’s my best friend and i can’t jeopardize that. they look to be having fun.” the second sentence came out as if you were trying to convince yourself as well.
as if the universe wanted to mock you more, percy and kailey made their way over to you. annabeth looked at you, praying that you noticed the bored look on percy’s face. you gave her a look as to say ‘stop it’ before turning to shoot a smile in the direction of the approaching pair. kailey seemed to have a permanent scowl on her face while percy’s expression shifted upon seeing you. his uninterested features changed to those of contentment when your smile entered his vision.
“hey, y/n!” percy’s pace increased the closer he got to you, leaving kailey slightly behind him.
“hey, perce. kailey.” you nodded in her direction, warranting an eye-roll from the girl. “what’re you guys up to?”
“just, ya know. walking around. sat at the dock for a little bit.” percy responded. him and kailey stood an unusual distance away from eachother.
“percy, im gonna go. come fine me when you’re done with. . . this.” kailey rolled her eyes for what seemed like tenth time in the short period that she stood there. she brushed his arm slightly before turning and walking away.
“well isn’t she just a ray of sunshine.” annabeth snorted, laughing slightly.
percy agreed quickly, “she’s. . . something. that’s for sure.” he rubbed the back of his neck.
“not feeling it?” you asked. he shook his head no, moving to sit next to you. his arm quickly fell over your shoulders.
this made annabeth abruptly stand up. “well, as much as i would love so stay and chat, i have shit to do. see you two later?”
“mhm. later!” percy said.
“bye, annie!” you added. as the girl walked away, you turned in percy’s direction. “is she really that terrible?” you asked.
“she’s . . . okay, i guess. not really my type.” his arm fell from your shoulders, hand moving to hold your own instead. this was something percy had developed on the numerous quests you two had gone on together. his need for physical closeness was something that many found annoying, but you found endearing.
“oh yeah? and what might your type be classified as?” you laughed.
“oh, ya know. i like a girl who’s smart, kind, funny, caring. all the usual things. i also like a girl who sets me up on dates with other people because she doesn’t realize i’m hopelessly in love with her. that’s my ideal woman.” he shrugged as if it were nothing.
your jaw had officially found the floor. “i—i’m sorry. . . what?” you were sure you had heard him wrong.
“you know what i said, y/n.” percy’s face turned serious as he turned his entire boy towards you.
“do i? because it sounds a lot like a confession.” you tried to lighten the situation, laughing slightly before halting.
“y/n, you’re making this extremely hard for me.” percy’s face had begun to turn a shade of crimson.
“how so?” you kept a serious face, struggling not to crack a smile.
“y/n. . . i’m completely and utterly in love with you. the way you laugh, the way you smile, the way you laugh again because, dam, i love that sound, the way you twirl the strand of hair by your ear when you’re nervous, the way you stick your tongue out slightly when you’re focused. i love the way that you talk about your niche interests and the way that you always put up with my bullshit. i love how deeply you care about everyone, even the people who don’t deserve it. i love the contentment in your eyes when we’re sitting at the beach. i love you because you’re you, and that’s the best person you can be.” percy didn’t once break eye contact through his speech.
it was official. this was the first time in your like that you had been rendered completely speechless. your palms became sweaty and your heart was racing. being a child of aphrodite normally meant you reacted better to love situations. this didn’t help you much now, though. instead, the only thing you could think of doing in that moment was leaning forward to connect your lips.
it wasn’t beautiful or a ‘sparks fly’ moment. it was quick and chaste, you moving away as quickly as you moved forward. once you pulled away, you looked percy in the eyes. his expression had shifted from one of fear to hunger. his hand came up, finding the back of your neck and pulling you into him again. his lips were warm and soft against yours. he tasted of sea salt and blue pancakes, a combination that only percy jackson could pull off. his free hand found it way to your waist, pulling you closer to him.
once the two of you could no longer breathe, you both pulled away at a slow pace. he kept his forehead against yours.
“gods, i have been waiting a millennia to do that.” percy laughed, kissing your cheek. his head moved from yours to the crook of your neck.
“me too, perseus.” your hand reached up, lacing itself into his hair.
“fucking finally! gods, i was starting to loose hope!” grover said, seemingly appearing out of nowhere.
“me too, honestly.” percy spoke, lifting his head to look at grover.
“you too?” you asked, confused.
“y/n, you’re literally the only person who didn’t know about percy’s massive crush.” grover explained.
you averted your gaze towards percy, who shrugged in confirmation. your face heated up. safe to say that you had managed to find yourself a valentine, though kailey from cabin five wasn’t too happy.

Note
hi, I would like to order a bouquet for Lighter 🤭 can the focus flower be lillies, with ivy, delphinium and heather as filler flowers, in pink paper wrapping? thank you!
-🐇 anon-
goldie's gift shop : order list for : lighter lorenz // lilies + ivy + delphinium + heather + pink paper [confessions + jealousy + first kiss + idiots in love + college au] florist's note : your friend was the one who brought it up, but it made complete sense - lighter was an attractive guy who lived with a bunch of girls. one of them had to be his girlfriend, right? it was an assumption you'd been running under almost as long as you'd been friends and studdy buddies. so why was he always looking at you like that? and why was your go-to coffee order always waiting for you when you met him at the library? and WHY did the words 'i need to tell you something' just leave his mouth???
wc: 1.2k a/n: this is the fic that was giving me grief, i just love college lighter a lot and this took so much reworking to try and do him any justice notes / warnings: lighter x gn!reader, basically just fluff, reader lowkey doing some simone biles level mental gymnastics, brief mention of burnice x pulchra, no use of Y/N
Tumblr media
"I don't want to burst your bubble, but don't get ahead of yourself. I'm pretty sure he has a girlfrienzzd. Or he's a player. Or both."
Your friend's words had, unfortunately, very much burst your bubble. You'd just gotten home from the first meet-up for a group project, for which you'd miraculously been paired with Lighter, the guy you'd been pining for across lecture theatres since you started university, and you were excited to giggle and debrief with her over the phone. And you had, telling her how he was not only hot but so nice, that you definitely thought you had a chance, until you'd sent her his Instagram handle, which you'd gotten the courage to ask for just before leaving the library, and she went quiet.
The conversation shifted to a different kind of debrief then - she told you about how she shared a few classes with a girl he lived with, Burnice, and he was always meeting her after lectures, how his house consisted of him and four girls, and every time she'd seen him around campus he was with one of them. By the end of the conversation, your high hopes were left significantly dropped. No matter what way you looked at it, the way your friend described it convinced you - whatever the situation, there was no way he was truly single. You'd accepted it as true then, and there had been no indication that anything had changed in the last few months, even as your friendship with him grew.
So just what on earth was happening to you right now?
"I need to tell you something."
Those were the words Lighter Lorenz had just said to you. The classic, default, 'I'm about to confess' line. While standing at the door to your dorm room, uncharacteristically fidgety, avoiding eye contact, and- shit, was he blushing?
This was the last thing you'd expected when he'd messaged you ten minutes ago, asking if you were busy, if he could come over. You'd expected he wanted help with the assignment due next week. Or he was bored and just wanted to hang out. Or he'd gotten into some fight and needed someone a bit more sane than his roommates to see if his cuts were serious. All of them had happened before.
A confession? No. Not on the list of possibilities. You'd long since accepted that no matter how much you liked Lighter, he was off limits. You'd yearned from a distance, lamented to your friends and your notes app that someone else was lucky enough to have him, thanked the universe that at least he was private and barely talked about the relationship so he didn't see how your jaw clenched when you thought about it, and did your best to move on with your life. It was difficult, when the two of you had a weekly standing reservation at your favourite table in the library, and he regularly joined you for movie marathons in your cramped dorm room, but you'd been making a valiant effort. Because you had to. Because he was taken.
"Look, I've been dancing around it because I really value our friendship, but it's getting to a point where I can't just push it down anymore," Lighter continued, still sheepishly avoiding meeting your gaze, unaware of the error messages flashing in your mind, the complete loop he was throwing you for, "I like you. Romantically. Like, a lot."
With a deep, shaky breath, Lighter forced his eyes to finally meet yours. He wasn't sure what look he expected to see on your face - he'd hoped for joy, had prepared for both shock and pity. But your face bore none of those - instead, you looked monumentally confused, blinking at him like he'd given the confession in gibberish.
"Don't you have a girlfriend?" "What? No?"
The words had slipped out of your mouth before you could think of a better way to phrase them, but at least now he was as confused as you were. For several seconds, the two of you stood there in the doorway to your room, eyes wide, staring at each other.
Then, you processed several things at once.
One: Lighter had never, to your recollection, said anything about dating anyone. Not once. You'd been running under the assumption for months, and he'd never said anything that confirmed it.
Two: You didn't even know which one of his roommates you thought he was dating. You'd seen how friendly he was with all of them; the barrelling hugs from Burnice, the makeup he bought for Lucy, the daily gym sessions with Caesar, the way Piper fell asleep on his shoulder. And had somehow never considered he was just like that with close friends.
Three: Lighter liked you. He bought your coffee because he liked you. He made himself free whenever you wanted to see him because he liked you. He came to you first when he got injured in a fight because he liked you.
And as it all hit you, the gravity of your stupidity, all you could do was laugh. You tried to restrain it, fearing you'd think you were laughing at him and not yourself, but the pure ridiculousness left you cackling until you were out of breath, a mixture of embarassment and elation as you realised that none of your problems were even real.
You retreated back into your room, beckoning Lighter to follow you as you sat down on your bed, trying to collect yourself. He stood awkwardly just inside, door clicked shut behind him, quizzical yet fears slightly soothed by the fact you wanted him in the room. In any other situation, he'd be more than content to watch and listen as your laughter bubbled past your lips until you cried, but right now, there were slightly more... pressing matters on his mind.
"I thought you had a girlfriend," you confessed, when you calmed your amusement enough to speak, "Oh my god, I'm such an idiot. Why did I think that?"
And Lighter had to laugh as well, heart thrumming at how relieved you seemed at the information.
"Who did you even think I was dating?" he questioned, padding closer to stand by where you sat on the bed.
"That's the thing, I don't even know!" you started laughing at yourself again, lying back on the bed, "One of your roommates. I think I'd have bet on Burnice."
"No way. Even if I was interested, she literally has a girlfriend - you know Pulchra?" he sat down next to where you lay, but the last dregs of his earlier unspoken question still itched at his mind. He was pretty sure he had his answer, because now that the universe had given you permission, you were looking at him in a way that could only be described as starstruck. "So... I like you. Thoughts?"
You couldn't help but giggle again, even though your cheeks were hurting from all the laughter. Then you grabbed him by the collar and pulled him down towards you, pressing his lips to yours; clumsy, both of you surprised and smiling against each other, and melting into it perfectly.
After a couple seconds, he pulled back, grinning dopily at you lying and breathing heavily under him on your bed.
"I've been wanting to do that for forever." "I'll take that as you like me too?"
And then his lips were on yours again.
