I feel like no piece of classical music will ever sound as visceral to me as the Augurs of Spring, like GAH the strings sound so ANIMALISTIC and PREDATORY and DANGEROUS

#im more of a brass person but strings can just sound so. dangerous. so foreboding. so terrifying #i always describe them as dangerous. particularly cello/bass #many such cases. i need to make a playlist of classical thats terrifying to me #theres always just smth abt deep/dark notes that carry so much dread #i think the opening of bartok's concerto for orchestra has this same vibe #theres a lot of different aspects behind terrifying music but yeah. dark strings. so dangerous!!!!!!!!#if any of this makes sense. im a nerd......#catie.rambling.txt
