Figured I should probably life update.

It's been a looooong time since I've posted here. Various factors got in the way of art in general and I figure I need to at least post a text update if nothing else.

Where have you been?

I have been mostly gaming in my free time and lurking on the internet. I didn't realize it, but I guess social media had been chipping away at my mental health without me realizing it. Namely Twitter (it's gonna stay twitter forever to me, I don't care what it's actually called now). I wanna try to get active on tumblr again, but they changed the layout in such a visually suffocating way, I can't do that site right now either.

So I just lurk.

What about your art?

Art has been hard. As I've complained about a lot in the past, I have a full time job and this job has had me on mandatory overtime for 3 years at this point. I also have chronic pain episodes that- while they have improved- still occur on occasion.

So you haven't drawn at all?

I've drawn very little UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE art recently, but I actually HAVE drawn some Zelda-centric art. I just haven't shown it because it's extremely self-indulgent and I am aware that the one canon character I draw the most is one people tend to hate. (Revali. It's Revali. He's a jerk, but I love him and I love inventing Rito characters that both admire and acknowledge his skill- but also knock him down a peg.)

The future of your Undertale/Deltarune comics?!

There should still be a future, yeah. Problem is, it's been so long since the beginning of the comic, I've kinda... gotta figure out what the heck the story even is anymore. Cause I don't really like WD Gaster being a villain? And that's sorta how we framed him to be in the comic, but I don't like that anymore.

"Fenn, Gaster made Ralsei disappear. Or SOMETHING, we still don't know what happened to Ralsei."

Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I've said from the beginning that Ralsei isn't dead, and that's still true. Also if I do change Gaster's motives, the Flowey/Ralsei thing (Flowsei?) will remain the same. So basically what I'm saying is Gaster was framed kinda like a villain in the comic, but he may shift to just a very, VERY morally grey guy, and you'll understand WHY in time.

Aaaaaaaand Vesseltale?

Vesseltale's a weird one cause it's the secondary plot comic and it's still stuck on-hold in the best possible place to be on hold. I might have to write that comic to a point where the biggest twist of the AU is revealed and then just be like: "Okay, here's some bullet points about this AU cause I don't actually think I can make this a full comic."

And then have like... highlight comic series where I just draw out major scenes. Like how Frisk interacts with the altered versions of the characters in this time.

Final thoughts?

I wish I had more time to do art. I really do. It's just difficult to set time aside to do it because of work. It's easier to pick up the Switch to decompress while listening to Let's Plays on Youtube at the moment.

Once the Holidays pass, I think I'm gonna try to carve out time on the weekends specifically for doing art. I'd love to finish Defnodel Chapter 3 before Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 release.

Also be prepared, I might start posting Rito fanart on DA because I love the Rito. You have no idea how many headcanons I've created for these dumb birds. I love them so much.

I'm relatively new to tumblr despite having an account for years. I was always a little scared of this platform, but now that I know more about how it works I've come to adore it!

I figured I should just clarify what my blog is like. This blog is far from currated! It is simply the dumping ground of my mind. ***major spoilers for undertale and deltarune chapter 1 and 2***

so, first of all: hi :D im new to the fandom and i've literally just finished deltarune (like a few hours ago) so forgive me if anything i say is something that makes no sense in the big picture or you've heard it before

that said, the fun thing about deltarune is that is the literal opost to undertale (im sure everybody already knows the name "deltarune" is just "undertale" but mixed up) and when you pay close attention to the details in the story you find some- opposite parallels? not sure how to frame that but like, compare how characters in undertale act with each other to how they act in deltarune, you see how upside down things are, like:

catty and her best friend hate each other

mettaton has no self confidence

sans is not a douchbag but he also doesnt seem the same chill goofball he were? idk we dont get much of him so that could just be me

and one that is probably the most interesting for me is thay EVERYBODY loves asriel- now, i know that in undertale, before the human child died, everybody already loved him and kept loving him even before that, since they didnt know he was actually flowey

but the thing is, not only they love, but worship him, everybody knows asriel, everybody asks about him and apparently everybody had a close (or almost close), relationship with him

and on the other hand, kids make fun of kris (like when you go back to the town in chapter 2, if you go down all the way to that place where has no music but only the sound of your steps on the leaves, you see monster child and another monster talking about that mysterious thing they have there, and monster child say "but kris-" and the other monster "kris is a whimp, do you wanna be like them?" or something in those lines but this is close enough)

not only that but everybody seem to think kris as "weird" and "creepy" and mostly everybody that talks to them eventually ask about asriel

so whats my point here? i believe asriel might be behind this, maybe not completely, since we found out kris is actually the one opening those portals- but thats another thing

if you do the true ending of undertale, before ending the game by leaving the underground, go back to where you started the game in the ruins, might take you a while, but go back there, once you get there, you find asriel in his child form, waiting to turn back into flowey

you can talk to him but eventually you have to leave him there

so maybe he's the one that changed it all, because clearly deltarune is a alternative world where apparently the events of undertale never happened, so before (or maybe after? who knows?) he turn back into flowey, maybe he was able to do that. how? please dont ask that i do not have a response hehe

but anyway- thats why toriel is being so cold, because if he did that while he was flowey then perhaps he was jealous of frisk (or chara? im not sure but i believe chara is the name if you do the genocide rote), jealous because they got all those friends, loving parents and freedom when he got nothing

so thats why in deltarune everybody see kris as weird and creepy, why toriel seem kinda cold, why nobody remembers anything from undertale and why everybody seem to love asriel

well im sorry this got so long but i have nobody to talk to about this and i was DYING to let it out lmao, i hope i was clear and didnt miss anything

Let's spill some tea:

Why is Toriel so rude and hostile in Deltarune?? I know in Undertale she has her flaws, like running away from her problems, and that's a whole other post.

But I don't know why she's a lot more... cold, in Deltarune, particularly towards Asgore.

In Undertale it makes sense why, but there's literally no mention of a war or him killing any humans. I mean, it's only the first chapter, and maybe chapter 2 will give us more in depth of what happened, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

Also, let's talk about her relation with Kris. Now it's no doubt that Toriel cares about Kris, she waits for them outside to head to school, and doesn't decide to wake them up if they want to sleep in.

She knows that Kris is not the happiest, expecially after Asriel left, since it seems like Kris was a bit clingy. But why hasn't she noticed how bare their room is?

She also seemed to be talking about them to Sans, about how she has to hide the chocolate from them, and maybe that's because she's tired, but the way Sans says "You sound like a fun kid." sounds almost... condescending, like Toriel maybe complained about them.
