inspired by a conversation i had with mars the other day, i ask tennisblr:

*significant can mean a 1000, the wta/atp finals, the billie jean king/davis cup finals or something else i'm forgetting that's particularly important during the tennis season. some of these have dates that have varied more than others over the years but regardless since every tournament obviously happens on different dates every year i'm asking usually, so if most years your birthday is during, for example, indian wells or the davis cup finals pick the 2nd option even if sometimes it isn't, you know

#overexplained this probably #tennis #polls #nico rambles #my answer is yes. my bday is pretty much always during the us open #i was telling mars THE sincaraz match was the night after my bday. also flavia beat stosur on my bday on the way to her title!!#and i've sadly seen matteo lose on my bday twice.. 2 years in a row (that semi vs rafa ...)#i'm going by when the match happens here in italy btw bc i mean if it's already the 7th here it's my bday even if it's the 6th in the us #anyway last year i didn't even realise it was past midnight and it was my bday bc THAT FUCKASS JANNIK JACK MATCH WAS DRAINING MY LIFE FORCE #but i can happily say aryna won the us open on my bday and jan the day after... presents for me!!#oh also for loena if you're reading this: bianca also won uso on my bday <3 #i think roger lost to delpo on my bday as well. that's as far as i can remember notable things happening in tennis that day #it's kind of a double edged sword especially bc it's also usually towards the end of the tournament so very important matches #and i can start or end my bday watching my fave win which is fucking fantastic... or i could watch them lose. which is considerably less so
