did you ever get so into playing pretend as a kid that you'd like, keep up the act around adults and get mad at them if they acted like your game was fake? yeah i think that might be what happened with the whole "reality shifting" thing on tiktok tbh

#i think people forget sometimes that teenagers are kids #like when ur 15 most ppl rly are not out of childhood yet you still find joy in a lot of the same things #like for example i fully played with barbies up til i was like 14 and i don't think that's all that uncommon #when i was in like 5 grade my friends and i went thru a phase where we decided ghosts were real #and we would tell each other increasingly elaborate and obviously untrue stories of all our recent ghost sightings #it was implicitly understood that even tho we all knew it was fake we were to take it seriously and act as if it were real #i think maybe that's what reality shifters were doing en masse #bri babbles
