Day nine, rest day in La Charité sur Loire

What an excellent day. Writing postcards, writing diary, writing to the Boy, reading a French children's book, visiting a 1000 year old church, eating baguette with hummus, sitting on terraces, falling asleep on an air mattress, waking up drooling all over it.

I decided on the return date, which is in a week and a half, making this first solo vacation thing an almost three week endeavor. To think how nervous I was about it, and how I now feel like I should stay on the Camino for the rest of the summer, I'd say it's a pretty damn success already.
