Ten Characters I Fell in Love With in 2021

i’m also not sure if this is supposed to regulated to only kdramas/kfilm but considering that’s the only thing i watched in 2021 we’ll just go with it. these are definitely in order bc i’m a hater before anything else and have no problem ranking my faves xoxo

1. han juwon (beyond evil, 괴물)

genuinely cannot express how much i love juwon. i wrote this big emo post that maybe gets close. but never have i ever identified so closely with a character, we are one and the same. juwon has the best and most beautiful character arc i have ever seen in television ever and to the day i die i will love him so fervently it makes me ill

2. lee dongsik (beyond evil, 괴물)

along with juwon, absolute banger character. even through so much personal pain he’s the first to look out for others and even tho his actions are morally questionable it was with the greatest intent—to make sure it never, ever happened again. his role in juwon’s transformation is just chefs kiss i love their relationship and yes they are gay

3. jung taeju (my name, 마이 네임)

also cannot express how much i desperately love this man and his actor lee hakjoo. life changing. master class in acting and being sexy thank yew. also i am the only person who knows him intimately and am the authority on him for a reason xoxo

4. han hoyeol (d.p., 디피)

wow i love hoyeol. even tho junho is the focus of the series (arguably) i think hoyeol is one of the best and most complicated/fleshed out characters in the series and we get only the smallest hints of what he might really be going through and i just. big kith

5. k (the devil judge, 악마판사)

my best friend called my favorite character list the gallows 😵‍💫 anyway i projected so much onto him it was absurd i literally cried for 2 hours when he [redacted] and that’s not an exaggeration i’m a nightmare

6. han jiwoo (to my star, 나의 별에게)

this was the 2nd bl i watched and wow i also latched completely onto jiwoo bc we are also the same person, super reserved and cold and reluctant to catch feelings 💔 i love my grumpy little guy

7. oh jihoon (beyond evil, 괴물)

the running theme here is that i absolutely fell in love with every character in beyond evil but jihoon is so special. yoonsu’s little dimples are so sweet and also i liked the way that jihoon is seen as a very innocent, sweet person and that even the innocent/sweet aren’t free from suspicion like it hurt to see him so scared but the fact that the writing didn’t spare him that is just. [hoover noises]

8. kang yohan (the devil judge, 악마판사)

morally ambiguous, borderline villain, sexy, likes to choke gaon. do i need to say more

9. jung jaeheon (sweet home, 스위트 홈)

this mfer was so badass (and sexy) with the sword???? woof woof woof woof woof woof woof

10. cha hyunsoo (sweet home, 스위트 홈)

i actually loved his character a lot and song kang did soooo well. like the tortured loner/monster is just so good and song kang is so cute and i absolutely devoured sweet home in one day aaaaugghhh
