Whether I can enjoy a movie theater experience is a roll of the dice. Like. I was completely fine after seeing a sweeping scifi epic with sound so cromchy it made the theater screen ripple in places, but a movie about a dog that I saw in a smaller theater left me really overstimulated and burnt out and on guard. Wild.
#i swear seeing some movies in theaters makes my brain feel like an exposed nerve#i dont know what the throughline is on *which* movies#btw dont see Arthur the King if you have issues with dogs dying or dog injury/medical treatment on screen#the dog doesnt die but they're super fuckin mean about it for like a good chunk of the movie#making you think he does up til the last fucking minute#good news is the doggy actor doesn't sell being sick/injured at all#one of the guys will go 'he's not looking good :(' and the camera pans to this perfectly healthy doggy#glossy clean fur and bright puppy dog eyes and relaxed body language. just happy to be there#there are scenes where they added whining in post to sell the idea that the dog was hurt#god bless the doggy actor. terrible at acting phenomenal at being a good boy
