Lmao I AM bi but aight. Yall think you're such a big movement in the community but your attitude is shit and look around and see how many lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals are thanking you. Yes, yall want straight approval. That's why you cowards throw the most vulnerable members of our community to the dogs bc you never got over your childhood desperate hope to be like the other boys and girls. No one is thanking you dumbass. In fact this Pride more than ever is the one where cis and trans members alike are getting their gay asses educated. Now before your dumb ass opens your mouth any further, here's your reading assignment for the night:
Marsha P. Johnson- one of the three prominent figures of the Stonewall riots, AIDS activist with Act Up (read as, ACTUALLY helping her community), founding member of the Gay Liberation Front. Part of the T. Also Black, since I get the distinct impression you have a problem with that too.
Stormé DeLarverie- another one of the three in Stonewall. Her fight with cops started the riots. Born to a Black mother. Hugeass influence on butch and non-conforming fashion. A lesbian, which your ass would claim to approve of, but she certainly isn't thanking you for it. Part of the drag scene and a prominent drag king, she fought alongside two trans women and went on to do incredible work for lesbians (again, ACTUALLY helping her community).
Sylvia Rivera- another trans woman and third figure of Stonewall babey. Latina, since, again, I'm finding it hard to believe you're educated about race either with that comment. Cofounded Sweet Transvestite Action Revolutionaries with Marsha to provide aid to homeless gay youth (something that, I promise you, her community thanked her for). Her presence in Stonewall is, despite this, a source of dispute. She made up for this by fighting alongside Marsha for the Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act of New York. Fought to bring recognition to the ball and drag culture at the basis of the community.
Miss Major- another figure in the Stonewall riots, Black and trans. Mother of four and HUGE feminist. Fought for intersectionality of gender in the community, fought for trans youth, and fought for poverty and race. Has frequently criticized the white privileged terfs in the community.
Victoria Cruz- trans woman born in Puerto Rico. Also, you sure the hell guessed it!, at Stonewall. She was in the first goddamn pride march. Worked with the Anti-Violence Project, which provided aid for rape and assault victims in the LGBT community. Featured in the Marsha P. Johnson documentary.
Tourmaline- that's right bitch, another trans woman of color. This badass specializes in prison abolition work, and prevented a $375 million jail in the Bronx. Has worked to combat the covering up of trans activist work, hopefully preventing further ungrateful pricks in the future.
Gilbert Baker- holy shit guy I don't know what to tell you the man MADE THE PRIDE FLAG and notably refused to let anyone capitalize on it. Friends with the iconic Harvey Milk. Member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a drag group dedicated to the very complicated subject of gender you seem to find yourself an expert in.
Now I know goddamn well that plenty of cis heroes gave me the rights I'm grateful for today as well. I could fill a book of badass cis lesbians who gave their lives for the community too. The difference between you and me, is I don't openly go out of my way to ignore the absolutely monumental impact of (Black!) trans women, who often had to fight prejudiced bitches like you as often as straight people. It's time for you to stop taking out your own insecurities on your own community. You look as dumb as a dog trying to chew off its own tail. Forget marriage equality, we wouldn't even be able to walk the damn streets as freely as we do today without their impact. Just knowing that there are ungrateful, privileged people like you in the community leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Luckily, oh honey, you are so far in the minority it isn't even fucking funny.
Honestly tho this year's Pride should be wrecking your ability to every treat it as a month of parades ever again. This should be a VERY humbling time for some of yall "LGB" freaks talking bullshit about how the T has ruined the community and how we should be going back to before the T (which is not hypothetical. I've seen yall post this shit). Newsflash dumbasses, the T BUILT Pride, both because Black trans women led the way for your ungrateful asses, and because they're the ones getting murdered. How many Black trans people have died in the last couple months alone? Get used to the rage you see. Pride IS rage. Pride IS trans. Pride IS inherently a protest against police brutality. If yall gay white asses are tired of seeing this anger, then you're tired of Pride, and you've betrayed your own community.
