before and after gif meme!

i was tagged eighteen billion years ago by @violaobanion @sluttyhenley and @redbelles so here it is finally! no tricks on any of these because that would be a whole other goddamn post. least to most effort and visual difference!

[full set here; animation is WAY easier to handle than live action, but boy is this movie grainy as fuck. still, this one—and the rest of this set tbh—was quick and easy.]

[full set here; conclave is really well-lit compared to the tv shows i usually end up giffing. the only surprise was how magenta the grading is once i bumped the brightness up. easy enough to fix with color balance, and this one had text! otherwise pretty straightforward.]

[full set here; this one had some experimentation in it. i hadn't really messed around with channel mixer as an adjustment layer before this set, but it worked better than my usual curves/level adjustments. that vibrance layer is doing a LOT of work putting color back into the footage.]

[full set here; what this one doesn't show is the THREE! HOURS! it took to get the curves layer to where i wanted it because this scene is SO fucking blue. this one was a 268px gif in the set but i blew it back up to 540px for this post. i know those last few layers don't look like they're doing anything but the effect's a lot more visible on the front half of the gif.]
