sometimes I feel like I can't relate to most Gon fans at all not because I don't love Gon, but because the aspects I love the most about Gon (his grey morality) are exactly the things they often wish would be de-emphasized on his characterization?

#i see so many posts complaining about ppl who focus on gon's “dark” side #because he actually IS a lovely boy etc #but #the reason why he's such an exceptional protagonist is exactly the fact that he managed to BE the typical sunshine male protag #And then managed to completely DECONSTRUCT that trope #as a friend said in his 1st watch #the chimers ants arc made him fear the protagonist and cry for the villain #and that is EXCELLENT writing #if gon was just sunny and sweet and kind i would not care #sorry #hxh #hxh thoughts
