Thank you for always sharing TGCF news with fans! It's not always easy for me to follow what's going on, so I really appreciate it. Do you know if season 2 of the donghua will be available on Netflix?
Hello Anon!
You're very welcome, I'm always happy to help!
I think season 2 will indeed be available on Netflix, however it's unlikely to be simulcast or anything. And I don't know when new episodes will be added--could be either the day of/soon after an episode's initial release, or much later.
Personally, I believe it will take some time, perhaps well after the season has fully aired. Bilibili's YouTube channel and Crunchyroll (among other international sites) are confirmed to be broadcasting them, and the later probably as a simulcast. So they probably wouldn't want it to go on Netflix too quick and cut into their own subscription profits. But who knows, maybe everyone will play nice!
If waiting is not an issue, then you'll likely be totally fine to watch it on Netflix at some point, but if you want to watch it as it broadcasts, then you'll have to check out Bilibili/Crunchy/etc. Keep in mind that more options for watching the donghua might be added closer to release, so it might be worth it to wait.
As it stands, I do not know the "best" way for people in North America to watch the donghua yet, because Bilibili's CN site is possibly not airing it due to censorship regulations. Meanwhile, their YouTube channel did not have TGCF season 1 available in North America. But then while Funimation (now absorbed into Crunchyroll) did """simulcast""" the release for North America, it was a bit... iffy. While Crunchy is typically better with simulcasts (at least with anime), I don't know if it's wise to put my eggs in that basket yet because nothing's confirmed! I'll keep ya'll posted, though!
