Will never understand authors spoiling their novel's plot in the introductions they write for them tbh
#like yeah it's a pulitzer prize winning classic from the 1980s but#i did not already know what was going to happen thx#this is about Lonesome Dove btw#sometimes i like to be surprised#and he's just like 'so what the title of the book refers to turns out to be (this character + 2 major spoilers in a row)'#like ok thanks for telling me but maybe I'd have rather read that AFTER reading the book#not all reveals bother me but in this case i feel like it was the kind of stuff that would've been more interesting#to have gradually revealed to me as i read it#the kind of stuff that will change the way you read the story depending on what you actually know going in. ya know what i mean#i recommend skipping larry's introduction if you care about spoilers and read it yourself#p
