I can't stop thinking about how the show sets up selfishness and selflessness as two sides of the same coin. How do you walk the line between making sure your loved ones can achieve their own dreams even if it means hurting yourself, and hurting your loved ones because you're hurting yourself for their sake?
It all goes back to Thame putting up his wish on the orange tree that he'll make all of the other members' dreams come true. Thame, who agrees to a shitty contract and works himself to the bone and makes it completely his burden to prove that Mars is a good investment for the company. Thame, who is made to believe that that very act of love and sacrifice is only debilitating his friends' dreams and the only way to keep his original promise is to leave.
We see Thame essentially being back at square one in this episode. He has to leave and go to Korea alone so the people he loves can achieve their dreams. But so much has changed since then. Thame had found hope, that he could simultaneously keep his promise and be selfish to want both his band and his partner. He's once again been working himself to the bone, giving up all of his time and attention between the band and Po, because his tiredness is such a small price to pay to turn that dream into reality. Why wouldn't he gladly take on all of that tiredness and more?
But despite all of the groundbreaking things he's achieved and everything he's given of himself, it doesn't work. His friends break down around him possibly reigniting the same insecurities from earlier that he worked so hard to ensure wouldn't come to pass. His boyfriend breaks up with him despite Thame promising to take on all of the burden and tiredness to make it work. He's being forced to leave everyone behind and he's being left behind too.
That flip from Thame being convinced that the best thing for him to do would be to leave for everyone else's sake, to the rest of Mars and Po being convinced that the best thing for them to do is to step back for Thame's sake is so so important to me. It's not just Thame who made making his friends' dreams come true into his own dream. The rest of Mars and Po did the same thing with Thame's dream. But how does it all work when the sacrifices you're willing to make for the dreams of your loved ones are at the cost of their happiness because they're at the cost of your own?
Thame's effort didn't go to waste. We see all of that effort manifesting in how it opens doors for the other members and Po so much more easily now. But it's also true that at the base of those new successes lie the shattered hopes of that shared dream between them.
The show sets up the question of whether the person who's leaving others behind feels hurt, and we see so many iterations of it. We see Earn leaving behind the person who was an instrumental part of his success without a second thought. We see Thame giving himself up and leaving for the band's sake. We see Jun leave twice, the first so that his friend would for once think of himself and his own success instead of letting the others drag him away from it, and the second when he's sure that his friend can be what the person that he cares for deserves. We see Pepper being completely willing to leave if the two biggest parts of his life cannot exist together and we see Gam actually leaving when it proves to be true. And we see Po leave because he cannot let himself become an obstacle in Thame's path and make all of their efforts come to waste. If that's the price to pay so that the people they love can have what they want then so be it, right? Their sacrifices are insignificant in the face of that.
But what happens when all those sacrifices still aren't enough? When the cost becomes too huge to bear?

For the Tav ask meme: 4, 7, 16, 20, 24 😊
Oh hi anon 😊
4. What would your Tav’s romance scenes look like? How many would they have?
Kyra comes from an incredibly privileged background where she was horribly mistreated, but also she carries a lot of guilt because of it. Whether we're dealing with A War of Hearts Kyra or Hand on a Dagger Kyra, she's lost her brother, who was the only person she felt she was safe with. She's had to deal with being alone and relying on just herself for safety for a long time.
I think Kyra's initial romance scene would be something similar to the prep we see her doing before the goblin raid on the Grove in AWoH. Something makes her insecure/triggers her, and she over compensates in order to try and make up for the need to protect people, the way she wished she could have been protected. Despite her title, she never felt like she was good enough because of the way her father treated her, so she needs someone to she her that she is enough and that she doesn't need to try so hard.
It's kind of sad, but I think Tav's first romance scene would be her truly opening up to someone for the first time in years - allowing herself to feel safe with them and like she doesn't need to be on guard all the time. Like she can trust them to care for her.
A second romance scene would probably be what we see when Kyra and SH go hunting after the raid in AWoH. The woods were Kyra's only escape as a child and she feels at home there like she never has anywhere else. I think she'd want to share that feeling with someone - show them the joy and safety she feels under a canopy of leaves.
I think the third romance scene would be where things got spicy. By this point, Kyra feels entirely safe and secure in the relationship. She's shown her softer, caring, protective side, but she can also be possessive. I think the third romance scene would see this side come out (in a healthy way, consent matters).
7. Describe their arc. How would a player help resolve it? What choices can be made? Can your Tav be turned down a dark path, or pulled to a lighter one?
Kyra's arc goes a little beyond Faerun and the main BG3 storyline. I'll just focus on AWoH for this one, because in my head that's her canon and HoaD is an offshoot.
*Spoiler alert*
We've seen most of Kyra's arc within AWoH so far already. Dealing with her trauma, panic attacks, the weight of responsibility on her shoulders and the guilt that eats away at her. We have the draconic blood that gives her powers she never realised she had, so I think her arc would see her utilise that a bit more than she had already.
Just as she's beginning to come to terms with all of that, her brother and mother show up again and it sets her into a bit of a tailspin which I haven't really gone too far into.
I think a darker path would be Kyra leaning more into the guilt and trauma and letting it consume her in an unhealthy way. She might start to become more controlling with the group at first, eventually she'd bury her feelings down so far that she's incapable of feeling them anymore. I think that would be when she starts to make some darker decisions, hurting people who maybe don't deserve it, or taking it too far. I think if she wasn't mostly raised by her brother, she'd be a lot more susceptible to Shar's message.
I think a little hint into what a darker Tav would be capable of is when she's just come out of the Shadowfell and she's screaming at Shar. For Shadowheart, she would kill everyone in Korella if it meant tearing Shar down.
Ultimately, Kyra's arc would be resolved by either her going into hiding with her partner so she could never be found by her father, or by returning to Korella and taking the throne.
16. What do they do for fun, when not adventuring? What are their hobbies?
Kyra likes target practice and sparring. She was raised with military training, so she's very disciplined. SHe spends a lot fo time taking care of her bow - it's therapeutic in a way since her bow is like an extension of herself.
She likes cooking in the woods. (if you ever see those videos of the dudes in the woods making really extravagant meals, that's what I mean. Girl has classy tastes.)
She loves nothing more than sitting by the campfire and appreciating the view. (whether it's a mountain or Shadowheart)
20. What is their relationship to touch? Do they shy away from it? Do they need it to feel present?
Kyra hates being touched by people she doesn't know, equally she hates touching people she doesn't know. But she will do it if she has to. When it comes to her friends, she doesn't mind it. But Shadowheart? She wants nothing more than to be in close proximity with her constantly.
24. What does your Tav consider to be their own biggest character flaw?
She's unking to herself at times. She expects so much from herself that she knows she can't always fulfil, but she has her father's voice in the back of her head constantly telling her she's a failure.
On a funnier note, Kyra's a sucker for beautiful women and good food and wine. She loses all logic.

What is your opinion in Lucy being UC? Because for me it doesn't make sense. She has literally been in like 3 documentaries. I feel like that is too much exposure for her.
And there is the whole Tim issue. I don't think Tim will ever be truly okay with her being a UC.
I think i would rather her just be a detective.
Personally… I'm relatively divided on the whole UC storyline, documentaries aside. I can't say that this is the path I imagined Lucy taking, as it seems rather antithetical to who she is and what she wants. At the same time, I do like seeing her undercover, playing different characters, getting more and more confident... There's one aspect in particular that I love : it's how covert ops taps into her background. Being a former psych major helps her create these different personae and adapt to the situation at hand. But more than that : she can draw on her life experience to guide her. She has tried different things before joining the Academy and that gave her a wealth of knowledge that she can use to her advantage. Psychology alone isn't enough for her, she needs the action, the danger… Undercover work gives her the opportunity to combine both aspects.
That said, I'm curious to see how this type of work could affect her. Being isolated, constantly being on edge, not seeing her loved ones for long period at times, leaving people behind, living a lie… It can get too much, real fast, especially for someone as empathetic as her. So far, she hasn't really seen that ugly side of the work, the one we've heard so much about… I think this is something she needs to experience so she can make an informed decision. But even if she decides that being a UC isn't for her after all, she can still work in covert ops. There is more to it than just being undercover. Or she could indeed just be a detective. At the end of the day, she is beginning her career, it's normal that she is still figuring it out. She deserves that chance. And that's why I want her to make the final decision on her own terms, whether she stays on track for undercover work or change path. So as nonsensical as it might be to send her undercover after the documentaries, I'm at least glad that this isn't used as a random reason against her, to prevent her from going forward with her career (at least, for now).
As far as the documentaries go… I actually already discussed this, so I hope you don't mind if I basically repeat what I wrote. At this point, I think we should simply take these documentaries for what they are : an opportunity for the writers to develop ridiculous plots and have fun, even though they don't make much sense… The last one was so over the top that I loved it - but I can understand that it's a bit hard to suspend your disbelief here… especially regarding the UC arc. I didn't mind Lucy being in them at first - or Nyla for that matter. Not to stereotype here, but I'm not sure the criminals she goes after watch these type of documentaries. And even if they were, they would still have to remember her specifically. I mean, only one person in-universe has ever referenced these episodes… and that lady was a director herself, who didn't apparently recognised Lucy (5.06). That last one, on the other hand… Let's just say that outing her as an undercover cop was definitely a choice… When the promo aired, I thought for sure that this issue was going to be addressed. I even wondered if I had missed a conversation or something after watching the episode. I guess, we're just supposed to pretend that it doesn't matter since not one single person raised the issue of Lucy being in the spotlight when she should be in the shadows. Then again, the LAPD doesn't see a problem with advertising a whole conference about covert operations… So we clearly have a very different definition of secrecy. That said, maybe this will come back later and someone will recognise her. That's always a possibility - though it would seriously make the whole department look incompetent for not considering that ahead of time…
I also touched on the whole Tim issue in another ask, so here's what I wrote. Tim absolutely knew about all of this and still decided that it was worth the risk. He was aware of her choice of career long before he even realised his feelings for her. From the moment she graduated, he's been nothing but supportive towards her goal. He was the one to convince her to go to the UC Academy. He asked her out mere days/weeks after she last went under (seriously, that was the episode right before). Undercover work is even the reason why they got together in the first place… which is so ironic when you think about it. When he said they were worth taking the risk, he meant it. Just like when he told Isabel that Lucy was different, I have no doubt he also meant it. He has some experience in the matter, he has some inklings as to what being separated for months truly means. And let's not forget that he knows what's it like not to be supported… Ashley was trying to make him quit his job because she suddenly wasn't okay with it - I can't see him doing the same to Lucy. I believe that Tim's biggest challenge will be to express his feelings, since he tends to internalise them. That's why I'm glad that he and Lucy were able to set boundaries and open up about this. They can only make it work if they're both honest and communicate with each other.
And last but not least, your last point about preferring Lucy to just be a detective. That's perfectly fair - and I know you're not the only one feeling this way. For what it's worth, even if she were to stay in covert ops, odds are she would mostly work as a detective (provided that she passes the exam, of course, and she doesn't get blocked). I seriously doubt the writers will create a different persona for every episode - it would get old fast - or let her spend too many episodes undercover… It's a procedural after all. I'm a bit unsure as to where the writers are going here… But The Rookie was first and foremost a show about patrol. That was what distinguished it from other cop shows. So far, we already have Nyla and Angela as detectives… Having Lucy doing UC might simply be a way for them to keep things fresh and avoid having three regular detectives.
I hope this answers your questions :) (I also hope you won't mind the copy-paste of previous answers but since the asks were pretty similar, it was faster this way - this isn't a knock against you at all. It's also a good reminder that I need to up my tagging game).

Are you ever afraid we're putting too much faith into the writers? It's been a few months since vol2 dropped so I feel like people are already forgetting the parts of the story that weren't particularly good. The almost cheesy bullying? Robin and vickie being very similar to each other? Eddie dying in kind of a stupid way just because he was always meant to die? The st*ncy revival (though I hope that's just a red herring ofc)? The timeskip everyone hated? The neverending russia plotline? I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting. Sometimes I wonder if we shouldn't expect perfectly satisfying storylines in s5. Do you think some of these weren't actually that bad, or were they bad but s5 will still deliver?
I don't think the Duffers are perfect writers but I like what they have done so far with the show so I'm not worried ♥️
imo the bullying wasn't cheesy it was exactly how bullies acted at that time and many people online talked about having similar experiences and relating to Eleven to the point of being retraumatized by that, bullying has simply changed a bit with technology I believe
we have not seen enough of Vickie to say that she's too similar to Robin, they made her talk fast like Robin because they wanted to make it clear that Robin was not the only one with a crush + Vickie was introduced mainly for the byler parallel
Eddie's death was not stupid in my opinion, he didn't know what was happening with Steve and the others and wanted to give them more time and be brave for once, the problem with Eddie's death is that it was predictable but it had sense in the narrative + his character was written in also to forward Dustin's character arc for next season so I believe it will play a huge part on the general narrative
I don't think Stancy was really revived, I think it was all about making Nancy understand that Steve had truly changed (because they probably will kill him off next season... to make it more dramatic and sad when he dies for love)
Once you rewatch the time skip doesn't feel weird anymore, I think it was the first impression because we have big action scene right before and it seemed sudden because the brain is overwhelmed... I also believe they could explore it back with flashbacks but we will see!
The Russia plotline was literally necessary to save Hopper and start jopper officially and I personally liked it, I don't think it was badly written and I think that what they learned about the Russian studying the demogorgons could help them next season because they showed the tanks and all
so yeah, I'm not expecting the most mindblowing never seen before thing ever from the show but I'm expecting something that is true to the characters, a good theme of True love winning against evil that I personally love with all my heart and the importance of friendship and found families... I'm expecting the right ending for stranger things... maybe a bit sad because at least one character I love will probably die but still a good ending!
I have faith that they know what they are doing because for now everything that I didn't like at first watch I understood later what was the purpose of that :)
adding byler proof just because I feel like it lol

Panic
Pairing - Eddie Kaspbrak x reader
Word Count - 3,773
A/N - this request will be a lot like my In-Between series (go check it out if you haven’t already!) in the way that the reader moved to Derry and met the Losers and the Party is now in Derry trying time stop the Upside Down and Pennywise. there will be a few similar things to that story, but this will have it’s own storyline with a totally different character so I hope you all enjoy! I love Eddie so much and would love to write more for him in the future so if anyone ever has a request, go ahead and send it in!
Request - Eddie x reader where while the Losers Club and the party is fighting about who the reader likes more as friends after they save Mike, a demogorgon's claw grabs the reader's ankle, cutting it and drags her back into the portal to the upside down and Eddie tries to grab her hand, but she is yanked back into the upside down and the portal shuts fast, leaving the two groups shocked and guilty about arguing that they didn't notice the claw coming through the portal. same thing with them rescuing the reader and they think that she died when they get out with her. then the reader wakes up and everyone gives her a big hug. and Eddie does the CPR and kiss like what Bill did @artlovingbre

Panic. That was all Y/N could feel as she ran through the decaying world, Eddie Kapsbrak's hand in hers as he huffed and puffed by her side. Sheer and utter panic.
"Come on!" Mike Wheeler yelled back at the group of kids, the Party and the Losers Club both picking up speed at those words. Growls behind them only made them run faster and Y/N's breath hitched in her throat at the sight of ten or more demogorgons running after them.
"Shit," she muttered as she yanked Eddie forward. "Come on, Eddie! We need to go!"
"I'm running as fast as I can!" Eddie cried out as the two ran at the rear of the group.
The familiar Neibolt house that held the portal to get back to their own world finally came into view and Y/N couldn't help but sigh in relief as her and the others all dashed towards the door. It didn't take long for them to get down to the basement and Eddie lunged through the portal, pulling Y/N along with him until the two landed on the floor of their world, the Upside Down now far behind them.
It was in that moment when Eleven was trying to close the portal and the relief of finally being safe had hit her that Y/N's leg suddenly flared up in pain. "Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit," Y/N muttered as she looked down at her leg that had a huge gash down the back of it, something she must've not noticed when the adrenaline was still coursing through her body.
"Fuck," Eddie whispered as his eyes caught sight of Y/N's leg. "Uh, guys! We kind of need help over here!"
Everyone's eyes flickered over to the girl and Y/N quickly waved them off, "I'm fine. Check on Mike. He's the one that's been trapped in the Upside Down for forty eight hours."
"No, I'm fine," Mike insisted. "You are clearly not fine."
"And whose fault is that?" Wheeler muttered under his breath causing Y/N to roll her eyes and put her face into her hands, already knowing what was about to happen.
"Woah. Woah. Woah. What's that supposed to mean?" Mike asked, his eyebrows raised as he looked over at the boy who looked identical to his best friend.
"I mean if we didn't have to come save your ass because you got a little too curious about things you don't understand then she wouldn't be hurt now would she?" Wheeler asked.
"This isn't Mike's fault," Beverly insisted as she went over to her friend and put a hand on his shoulder.
"If anything it's yours because you guys didn't bother making sure the gate was actually closed," Richie shrugged.
"Don't put the blame on us, asshole!" Lucas exclaimed as he walked closer to Richie.
"Guys," Eddie sighed as he pulled himself up onto his feet. "We've got bigger things to worry about." He then gestured towards Y/N, his face pale as he looked at her in concern, but no one bothered looking their way.
"Guys, let's not start this back up, okay?" Steve told them as he gently pushed Lucas and Richie away from each other.
"Don't fucking touch me!" Richie exclaimed as he shoved Steve away. "Besides, we already know who would win."
"Us," Dustin muttered as if it were obvious.
Richie laughed out loud at that. "Yeah, okay, Curly Fry. We would be the ones that win. Even Y/N would agree," Richie told them.
"Yeah, right. Y/N would agree with us. She likes us more anyways," Wheeler argued.
"Cause that's why she left you guys, right? Because she likes you all so much," Richie mocked.
"Guys," Eleven muttered, barely being able to pay attention to the gate because of all of the arguing.
"Better watch your mouth, Trashmouth, before you say something you regret," Wheeler practically growled.
Richie let out a laugh before muttering, "Fuck you."
Wheeler smiled at that and it wasn't a genuine smile but one of his pissed off ones. Before any of them knew what was happening, Wheeler went to lunge at Richie and this sent the whole group into a frenzy.
Eleven's eyes widened and she turned her attention away from the gate to yell at her boyfriend while the others all hurried to pull the two boys away from each other while they shouted insults at the other group.
Y/N shook her head, tears filling her eyes at the sight of all of her friends frighting. She tried to move to stop them, but she fell down to the ground with a hiss, her whole leg throbbing from the intense pain.
"Guys!" Eddie yelled as he moved towards the groups and away from Y/N, not noticing the small shadow that had seemed to grow by the portal or the small claw that had begun to peak out.
Y/N bit her lip to hold back a scream of pain as she pushed herself up onto her feet. She knew she would have to be the one to break it up, but the moment she went to take a step forward, she went falling to the ground with a loud thud that had everyone turning to look at her, their eyes widening at the sight of a clawed hand gripping onto their friend's ankle.
Before any of them knew what was happening, Y/N was suddenly being dragged across the floor. A scream escaped her lips as she clawed at the floor yelling, "Help!"
The others quickly burst into action and Eddie was the first to reach the girl. "Eddie!" Y/N cried out as she desperately tried to reach for him. Eddie could feel a bubble of panic rising in his chest but he pushed it aside as he shot his arm forward, his hand grabbing onto hers only for it to slip from his hold as she was suddenly pulled back with so much force that her whole body went flying back into the portal which had finally finished closing as soon as she was through.
Eddie slipped and landed face first on the ground, but he didn't bother trying to get up. His whole body was shaking as he weakly lifted his head, his eyes locked on the portal in front of him that Y/N had just been pulled back through.
Eddie didn't know what to think as he sat there, the silence in the room being enough to make his ears ring while everyone stood there in shock. It wasn't until a whimper filled the air that they all blinked away their shock, tears filling their eyes and looks of guilt crossing their faces as they looked to the boy on the floor who had been the one to let out the whimper.
"She's. . ." Eddie couldn't even finish his sentence before a sob escaped his lips, his whole body shaking violently from the force as the realization that the girl he had a crush on had just been taken by a demogorgon into the one place he knew she feared the most hit him.
Eddie managed to pull himself up onto his knees before he looked down at his hands, the same hands which had had a hold on the girl but had let her slip away. His cries grew a little louder at that and he found himself putting his face into his hands while he cried out, his whole body aching from a pain that started in his chest right where his heart was.
It took a minute, but the boy eventually felt a hand on his shoulder and Eddie weakly turned to see Richie kneeling beside him with tears of his own streaming down his face.
"She's gone, Rich," Eddie croaked out. "She's gone."
In a very unRichie like action, Richie reached out and let his arms wrap around the boy, Eddie sobbing slightly as he turned and hugged onto his best friend like he was his only lifeline at the moment.
The group all watched silently as Richie hugged the boy a little tighter before they hung their heads as they realized Y/N truly was gone.
"She's not gone, Eddie," Richie whispered as he comforted the boy causing everyone to look to him, including Eddie. "We're going to get her back, okay? We're going to save her."
Eddie stared silently at Richie before nodding his head. "She's not gone," he whispered in agreement before he turned to the group, giving them all pointed looks that told them that they were going to help him fix this.
"We're going to get her back."
- - -
To everyone's surprise, Eddie was the first one to enter the portal once they had all the things they needed to go save Y/N. He didn't even flinch as the decay and goo touched him, only took in a deep breath before continuing into the Upside Down while the others just watched him in silence.
Then again, they really shouldn't have been surprised. This was Y/N they were talking about and the feelings the boy had for her were obvious.
Eleven was by Eddie's side in no time and she gave the boy a small nod before pointing in the direction she felt they needed to go. "This way," she whispered before Eddie nodded, the two then leading the group further into the Upside Down until they came upon what had to be the Upside Down version of Y/N's house.
"She's in there," Eleven whispered, her face pale. "I can feel it."
Eddie nodded and took a hit off of his inhaler before looking to the house and beginning to walk in, the others all following behind. He was doing this for Y/N, Eddie kept reminding himself. Everything he did was for Y/N.
Swallowing his fear and panic, the boy pushed the front door of the house open before slowly walking inside. Steve clicked on his flashlight and went to stand by the boy as they slowly began to look around.
"Let's split up and look around. Holler if you find anything and be careful," Steve told the kids. They all nodded before splitting up, Eddie and Richie going with Steve while the others broke up into groups of three as well.
The trio decided to take the upstairs and Eddie followed behind Steve who began to make his way into what Eddie knew to be the guest room. Eddie watched Steve go for a moment before turning his head and looking towards Y/N's room, a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach suddenly washing over him.
Eddie didn't tell the two that he was leaving and just walked over to Y/N's room. It felt like he was being tugged by an invisible string, his body preforming actions before his brain could even think of them. But as soon as Eddie pushed the door open, he knew why he had been walking towards the door.
"Y/N?" Eddie cried out, his face going pale as he stared at the dead looking girl who was held up against the wall by decay. She seemed to have something covering her mouth and Eddie felt like he was going to puke.
Pushing past his nausea, the boy yelled, "I found her!" It didn't take long for him to hear the scrambling of footsteps before everyone was filing into the room behind him.
"What the fuck?" Richie cried as he looked at his friend with wide eyes.
"Holy shit," Dustin breathed out.
Everyone was looking at Y/N in disbelief and disgust while Will just looked as white as a sheet of paper. Will was the one to snap them out of their thoughts as he whispered, "We need to help her."
He knew what was happening and if they didn't get that thing out of her quick, there would be no Y/N to save.
Everyone glanced at him and Will just looked at them with wide eyes. "Fucking move!" Will yelled instantly making the group jump at his sudden outburst before they rushed over to the girl.
It took all hands on deck for them to pull away the decay that was holding her back. Finally they were left with whatever it was that was attached to her mouth and Eddie grimaced before slowly going to grab it. A hand gently pushed his away before Steve was whistling, "It's okay, kid. I got it."
Eddie gave Steve a thankful look before watching as the older boy grabbed ahold of the thing in Y/N's mouth. He began to pull and Eddie resisted the urge to gag as he watched Steve pull whatever worm thing it was out of Y/N's mouth.
"F-F-Fuck," Bill muttered in disgust while him and Mike held the girl up in place so that Steve could finish getting the thing out of her.
It took a moment longer and Eddie felt as if he were going to pass out when he saw just how long that worm thing was. Finally, Steve gave one more yank before the thing finally came out. Steve tossed it aside almost instantly and Eleven was quick to use her powers to toss the thing out the window of the room.
They then turned to Y/N who was limp in Bill and Mike's arms. "Is she-?" Max whispered, but Steve quickly shook his head as he felt for a pulse.
"She's still breathing, but we need to get her out of here," Steve told them.
The group all nodded in agreement before Eddie went over to help Mike and Bill carry the girl. "Let's go," Eddie told the group before they all began to move out.
They had barely made it out the front door before a sound similar to howling filled the air. "Shit," Stan muttered as he glanced at Ben and Beverly who stood beside him.
"We need to move! Like now!" Wheeler exclaimed before everyone broke out into a run, Eleven making sure to stay behind the group seeing as she could use her powers to keep the demogorgons back.
Eddie was met with the same feeling of panic he had felt the last time they ran through the Upside Down, only this time Y/N was unconscious by his side instead of running alongside him.
It took a while but they eventually reached the house and all began to pile inside while Eleven let out a scream and used her powers to throw all of the demogorgons back. Wheeler was quick to grab her arm and the two brought up the rear of the group as they ran to the basement and through the portal that was in the Neibolt House.
As soon as the last person had gotten through, Eleven turned to the portal and begin to use her powers to close it. "You got this, El!" Lucas exclaimed.
"Come on!" Ben yelled.
Yells of encouragement from both groups were thrown towards El who let out a scream before finally forcing the portal closed. Everyone let out sighs of relief, but it was short lived by Eddie who let out a scream.
The group was quick to turn to the boy with wide eyes, their eyes landing on where he sat on the floor with Y/N in his arms. "She's not. . .She's not breathing!" Eddie squeaked out, sheer panic washing over his body as he looked down at the girl and began to shake her.
"Y/N?" Eddie cried out as he shook her. "Come on. Wake up!"
Tears were filling his eyes and a few had even started to fall as he began to breath heavily, his airways starting to close up as panic course through his body.
"Fuck! I don't know. . .I don't know what to do. Fuck!" Eddie yelled out as he laid the girl on the ground before putting his hands to her chest and beginning to preform CPR. The group all watched with tears in their eyes as Eddie tried to revive the girl, his mouth connecting with hers as he breathed air into her lungs before he pulled away and continued the rest of the procedure.
He was hyperventilating at this point, his asthma getting so bad that the lack of air was making the world spin around him. But Eddie didn't care. He didn't even bother reaching for his inhaler because Y/N was more important at the moment.
"Eddie," Richie sighed as he began to move towards the boy, knowing that the others wouldn't be able to stop him and that Eddie wouldn't give up even if there was nothing else he could do.
"I can't lose her, Richie. I can't lose her!" Eddie cried out as he continued the CPR, his wheezing only getting worse as his face grew red.
"Eddie, you need your fucking inhaler, man," Richie said as he went to grab the boy and pull him away, but Eddie slapped him away with tears streaming down her face.
"She needs help! Y/N. . .needs help!" Eddie puffed out, his movements getting slower due to the lack of oxygen he was getting.
Richie, finally having enough, grabbed ahold of the boy and began to pull him away, ignoring the shouts of protests that were coming from Eddie as the boy thrashed around in his hold.
"Let. . .me. . .go, Richie! Fucking. . .let me. . .go!" Eddie huffed before Richie was suddenly pinning him to the ground. Beverly appeared by his side in an instant and quickly got the boy's inhaler before holding it up to Eddie's mouth.
The young boy reluctantly took the medicine, letting out a small sigh of relief as the fire that seemed to be burning in his lungs lessened. It took a moment of him just taking some deep breaths before Eddie was able to open his eyes again, his asthma now under control.
It was only then that Richie let the boy sit back up and Eddie slowly moved into a sitting position before letting his eyes flicker over to Y/N who was now lying lifelessly in Eleven and Will's arms.
Eddie's eyes locked with theirs and Will was quick to look back down as he just hugged his friend close to his body. Eleven just gave Eddie a sad look and the boy couldn't help but let out a small sob at that, his body leaning back against Richie and Beverly who were quick to hug the boy in comfort.
Eddie let his eyes fall shut as he let out heartbroken cries. His cries were the only thing that could've heard beside the sniffling coming from the others.
That was until a gasp filled the air followed by the sound of someone having a coughing fit.
Eddie froze before slowly allowing his eyes to flicker up, a feeling of euphoria washing through his body at the sight of Y/N coughing while Eleven and Will smiled from her side.
Y/N didn’t even have time to think before she was being attacked by hugs, Will being the first to hold her tight in between sobs before Eleven joined in. She was passed around between her friends, each of them getting a chance to hug the girl that they thought they had lost before Y/N was suddenly standing face to face with Eddie.
Y/N blinked in surprise, watching silently as Eddie just stared at her with a quivering lip. His quivering lip quickly turned into a shaky smile as tears of relief began to fall from his face. He was pulling her in for a hug within a second, his hand going to the back of her head as he held her close.
Y/N felt herself instantly relax in the boy’s hold, her hands curling into fists around Eddie’s shirt as she shook in his hold. The memories of what had happened flashed through her head, but with Eddie holding her, they were quickly pushed away.
“I thought I lost you,” Eddie whispered as he dug his face into the girl’s neck. Y/N blushed slightly having never seen so much affection from the boy but loving it so much that her heart was roaring with butterflies.
“I’m sorry. I’m here. I should’ve been paying attention to that stupid portal,” Y/N sighed while Eddie pulled away slightly to look at her. The girl looked down before muttering, “Then maybe I would’ve noticed the demogorgon and-“
Y/N began to ramble and all Eddie could do was just smile and shake his head at the girl in disbelief. His smile disappeared for a second as he hit his lip nervously, his eyes flickering over the girl’s face as he argued back and forth with himself.
Finally, Eddie just sighed and muttered, “Fuck it.” Y/N glanced up at him at that, but didn’t have time to question him before he had put both hands on either side of the girl’s face and pulled her forward, instantly connecting their lips into a searing kiss that made Y/N’s face then beet red.
She couldn’t believe what was happening. Eddie Kaspbrak was kissing her. The boy she had been crushing on since she moved to Derry was kissing her! And how unlike him that was. But Y/N couldn’t deny that she liked this uncharacteristic like boldness coming from the boy.
The two teens would’ve continued kissing if it hadn’t been that they were suddenly reminded of the audience they had as soon as whoops and hollers filled the air and Richie yelled out, “Get some, Eddie!”
That made the two instantly pull away, blushes dusting their faces as they shyly look at their friends before looking back at each other. Y/N swore she had never been looked at someone the way that Eddie looked at her in that moment and it only got better when the boy whispered softly to her, “I love you, Y/N.”
Y/N couldn’t help but smile at that and she quickly leaned into kiss the boy once again, pulling away to reveal a dazed and red faced Eddie. “I love you too, Eddie,” she whispered, the utter shock and look of happiness on Eddie’s face making her heart swell.
Eddie was just about to lean into kiss her again when someone in the room cleared their throat, the noise causing the two to freeze when they were only inches apart.
“Okay, so now that you two are in a relationship, I think we need to establish some ground rules and-"
“Steve!"

I've been on Tumblr ten months now, and this blog has existed for nine of them. During that time I have noticed something.
The majority of the posts I've come across have been by and for the S&M scene, as is to be expected.
The second-most frequent are Indigo League, which I don't think is bad going considering it was broadcast before most Tumblerries were born.
Third-most popular I would say is Sinnoh, probably for being the introduction for many here.
After that I've seen bits on Johto, a smattering of Orange League (unsurprising given it's briefness) and maybe a single item on Hoenn.
No one likes that then? Is it Max? Go on, it is.
What I find odd is that, in all that period, I haven't seen anything on Unova or Kalos. No fan art, no screen shots, nothing.
I'm sure someone can point to a bounty of pieces I've overlooked, all done within the last year, but if so, they're well-hidden, as none of the people I follow have shown any interest in re-blogging them.
If you have done any, you must admit the amount has depleted considerably.
Why is this? Is it of no interest anymore?
This in itself validates my own opinion. Had I been here when Unova and Kalos were broadcast, I presume over half of the posts I'd see would've been devoted to them. If I then spoke harshly of either, that would not have been well-received.
However, if dropped, both by the audience and writers as soon as the latest generation arrives, wasn't I right to not be impressed?
If cast aside by those who claimed to worship them, were they really of any worth at all?
Well the same fate has now befallen Alola. I make no secret of how much I despise it, and can not grasp its appeal for anyone.
I don't know how Pokémon even has a fanbase anymore, given that it's ugly, boring and repetitive.
Prior to the arrival of the S.S., I suspected that Alola material would drop, vanishing altogether once a year's worth came to a close, and so it has proved to be.
It's gone from making up roughly 60% - 70% of dashboard posts to about 10% - 20%, in only a few months. Is it that bad then?
It can't be explained as excitement for the new, not with the amount of coverage Kanto gets, and even that isn't motivated by reminiscence, given the average age of the current viewer.
Why are you still posting about something that old? It reminds me of my wasted youth, but what's your excuse?
Why, when the writers want to wallow in nostalgia, do they hark back to Kanto, which no modern fan can remember?
Is no one looking with misty-eyed fondness at Iris and Cilan? Why not?
Or is that an admission that it was so appallingly bad even the writers recognised it, that's why it's been so hastily forgotten?
You could watch Pokémon from the beginning to the close Sinnoh, skip the next two eras, starting again with Alola, and you would never know there'd been a between.
Unova is described as a 'soft reset', with regards to its inverted nature. The arrogance of those writers is staggering:
• Trying to erase all that'd gone before, supplanted by their half-arsed efforts.
• Redesigning everyone with Fish Eye and flat profiles.
• Resetting Ash as not even knowing the basics.
• Warping Team Rocket's established personalities into disgusting, soulless lizard people robbed of all charm and charisma.
• Only new Pokémon existing.
• Catches kept with Juniper not Professor Oak etc.
The irony is that Unova Pokémon are copies of the first 151, so whilst deliberately ignoring the past, they can't resist imitating it, thanks to their own woeful inadequacy. I suppose they hoped if they didn't notice, we wouldn't either.
They then undermined their own decision by stuffing everything available into the third run, as a blatant effort to win back the crowd, including:
• Reverting to Team Rocket's actual motto, not that embarrassingly pretentious codswallop.
Too bloody lazy to make it rhyme now!
Notice they opted not for the Sinnoh one, although more recent. It was straight back to the beginning.
• Look at these hundreds of Pokémon we suddenly remembered!
Just before Giovanni's mid-life crisis, Ash spotted a Rattata, but it having been so isolated from the outside world, his brain fell to mush at the concept, and pronounced it 'retarda'.
Tumblr media
Idiots are so easy to please!
• Charizard! Genwunners love Charizard! Give 'em Charizard and they'll forget everything else we've done! Let's condense his entire story arc into one episode of meaningless retelling!
So, Charizard was there to bait the first wave, and yet we had the plot we know repeated to us anyway?
Tumblr media
Don't refer to the past and everyone will think it's brand-new!
It makes no sense. How could this be done with the hope of drawing in old fans, and yet filling up an episode with it as plotline isn't an issue, when the intended targets know it's been done before?
• Butterfree! Genwunners loved Butterfree leaving! Let's condense his entire story arc into one episode of meaningless rehash!
Why would they remain when finding the same thing again, absent of feeling and subtlety, not to mention upon discovering the damage done elsewhere?
Recent incomers, who might assume it's a fresh idea, have no emotional connection with Butterfree, so who is it meant to please?
Tumblr media
Why is Mewtwo a woman?
• Mewtwo! Genwunners love Mewtwo! Let's copy its background for Genesect rather than be creative! Look, it's Mewtwo! Watch it!!!
Erm... It's not the same Mewtwo...
It's not the same Mewtwo?
You believe the way to an original fan's heart is to lie to them, and in the process smash a fundamental principle of canon that there can only be one Mewtwo?
The writers get a deserved excoriation round these parts, because someone has to, as what part of that film suggested the current crop give the tiniest toss about what matters to you and me?
I'm glad Unova is labelled 'the Dork Age' as every series since its dawn has been atrocious.
Hoenn and Sinnoh held massive flaws, but they're masterpieces compared to what followed. At least they felt like Pokémon, albeit a watery interpretation.
Unova has to be truly lowly for the dunces responsible to recognise it, and neither Kalos or Alola have been as cut off from their predecessors.
I don't believe that's a sign of contrition, more a matter of necessity. Thanks to the same personal limitations there just weren't enough new Pokémon in either era to make such insularity possible. Even between the two it'd be a scrape.
Except whilst previously invented Pokémon designs may be involved, there's no sign of actual familiar characters.
Ash took his original team to Johto, and even in Hoenn and Sinnoh, where local catches took precedent, older Pokémon were still referenced and came back for the League, but that stopped with Unova.
It's evil influence strikes again!
Despite flimsy nods to the past, which can't be avoided, each generation is now a world unto itself, to the point that individual episodes live by their own canon, a feeble web of strands unrelated to anything else.
Why is it considered 'retro' enough to say, have Forms of Kanto Pokémon, for which we're expected to be so grateful, when there's no mention of Ash's earlier squad?
Remember Tauros? And Kingler? And Muk?
Remember Bayleef? And Noctowl? And Heracross?
Remember Corphish? And Torkoal? And Swellow?
Remember Buizel? And Gible? And Torterra?
They don't. As far as I can tell none of them exist anymore, and maybe aren't meant to ever have done.
Same as Gary, Cassidy and Butch, Jessibelle, Tracey, and so on. Until they do, and don't again. Whatever is convenient to today's storyline.
My typical attitude is that the first series is the best thing ever, and it's all been downhill from there, with Unova and all that came after reaching incredible depths of tedium. I don't suppose you like that, but the ephemeral tendencies displayed on Tumblr hardly help change my opinion.
At some low ebb I'll get round to watching Galar, which I'm confident I'll hate as much as the last few generations, based on what I've already seen and heard.
There's little point doing otherwise. Why bother getting involved with the 'plot' or characters if, when it's over, they'll never be spoken of again?
What incentive is there for me to even force myself to like Galar when, once the ninth generation (Pokémon Keenan and Kel) emerges on the distant horizon, those who've sung its praises for three or four years and scoffed at criticism, will drop it without a backwards glance?
Yet talk about the Indigo League is ever present, somewhat proving its superiority. Attachment to it is a subconscious acknowledgement of the dearth of quality in the modern mentality, but which no one can bring themselves to admit.

you don't know maybe we'll see long-term lesbian couples on tv in the future. people are sick of lesbian shows with crazy, convoluted love polygons (the l word) and getting sick of ones in all-female environments (oitnb, wentworth). we're sick of queerbait couples in ensemble cast scifi or action shows getting killed off. we want stability, permanence.i see sitcoms, dramas with older lesbian protags, even a disney channel or nickelodeon show with 2 moms being made.
Of course I can’t read the future. I can tell you that it’s not likely. Shows with 2 lesbian leads are not terribly popular. And you’d have to have 2 leads to even believe they could last 5 years. Lesbians say they are sick of this and that, yet they don’t watch the fosters. We have some of them believing nonsense about no long term monogamous lesbian couples on tv, um, The Fosters. And queer baits? There are still more swan queen fanatics than fans of Stef and Lena. IF they were sick of it, they quit watching.
I’d love for that future that you paint. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sell.

Teri seems very open and honest about sex. Then you have Stef who she plays so well being so shy about it. It’s great Stef doesn’t want to talk about it at all. It’s brilliantly done
Teri’s an amazing actor. Look at how she has butch Stef down. I don’t think it’s all direction, though I’d love to know if she’s gotten tips from anyone. Teri is far from butch but she does the tiniest things to make Stef the character come alive.

What are your thoughts on Sherri Polo fanfic?
Don’t tweet it to sherri or teri! Um, you know, it’s harmless fun.

do you think teri & sherri kiss on the lips when together? we saw them kiss at HRC & during one panel but when they're just alone taking selfies they won't share with us (lol) do you think they cuddle & hold each other & still kiss each other? sherri always says teri is her wife & of course we see how close their friendship truly is, but i wonder if they act the same in all aspects on & off camera. wish we could see everything! but i love they have selfies just for them, i love that even more
Gonna pair these questions together. Yes they kiss on the lips all the time, we’ve seen it. Obviously, they are not making out. I also think we have good proof that they cuddle all the time. We have enough casual, unplanned proof that these things happen off camera. They have something special that they like to keep to just themselves, as Sherri herself has said.

Oh poor Stef sex is bought up and all she wants to do is hide under the table and hope no one notices. Poor baby
It’s funny, she can be all like here are condoms, use safe sex, but don’t give her the gory details! I always thought it’s hard for her to be vulnerable and all that sex talk makes her feel too open, it’s too personal. However, Stef 2.0 can talk about her feelings more openly so I’d like to see her be able to talk about this more.

Stef being like this now makes me wonder what she was like when she first met Lena!  Could she say the word sex? Because she’s yet to even say orgasm
I think the great thing about early Stef would be that she was completely a lit candle when it came to Lena. I think she was dying for sex so it wouldn’t have been a problem. I think she just didn’t talk about it.

I love that Stef is still finding herself even in her forties if the story line is right (which in this show is hard to follow at the best of times) she was twenty nine when she meet Lena and has spend all her thirties with her. I love her character development. I would just like her to throw caution to the wind and start sexy time with her wife, who as well all know is hot as hell. What do you think?
As a woman in her forties, I can tell you there’s so much to find out about yourself. I love her character development. She’s had the most growth, it’s so well plotted out. It’s taking seasons to see it. To see Stef in the last episode, so confident in herself, she’s never looked better. It’s time for that to translate into the bedroom. If I am right, the show has to go there. It is what they have been writing. This is the path.

Yeah, it might be the new acting VP. We’ll see. I am only into this as far as Lena really finding her voice and getting the job she deserves. She shouldn’t play second fiddle to any of these idiots.

Why are they always wear striped shirts on the show ? Mostly Jude
He’s a clown?
Anonymous said:
Callie record could ruin her chances of getting into colleges. I hope see Callie angry and upset about it. Worrying if she will ever get to go. I feel like her and Lena could bond over it. Since she’s the one telling Callie to apply. Callie’s doesn’t seem to care for collage and that needs to be the reason.
The reason Callie does anything, she doesn’t believe she deserves good things like her moms, like a nice boyfriend like AJ.

My wife & I love your blog. The kitchen scene with Stef & Lena putting up groceries from the last epis, it would have been more organic for them to just kiss very briefly on the lips and go into that nice tight body hug.  We are not ones to really harp on the kissing, but this episode & that scene seemed so weird without a very brief kiss flowing into a comforting hug.  So much so that we beginning to wonder if there is a network mandate about the moms’ kisses.  Know showrunners may not admit it
There could be. There’s no denying that they gay nothing by throwing a network under the bus. That’s why I trust that they are doing everything they can on that front. I do believe that. The last hug was awkward. It’s definitely setting up conflict for Stef and Lena. Would I have liked a kiss? Of course. I just refuse to get worked up when this was an episode that had over 21 minutes of Stef and/or Lena. I just can’t. I definitely understand people’s frustrations. I still get a lot of joy out of an episode like that, character development and such. I could have used some more touching, but really the first few eps, I’ve had a hard time even giffing all the times they’ve touched. I’ve had to not gif some of them, that’s how many we have had. I don’t feel that kissing is the only way to show that these women are in love. We’ve gone through droughts of very little touching, hugging, never mind kissing.
Anonymous said:                                                                      You’ve said many times the show has earned your waiting on a kiss from Stef & Lena.  But we don’t understand why the fandom, which is a small fandom & very frustrated with this, has to wait on something that should be quite natural for a married couple who’s in love as they say Stef & Lena is.  We don’t want/expect full make out every episode, but when scenes naturally call for a kiss (peck on lips/brief kiss) it’s really very ridiculous to say the show is waiting for 1 big episode for kisses.
You’re preaching to the choir. I don’t think they’re doing this to frustrate us though or to seem unfair. I do think that this is story for them for the most part. I also do believe that they want to build up to big moments, for dramatic purpose. Stef and Lena have kissed so much by now that it is hard to build dramatically to big kisses. Other shows do this by breaking couples up or having them cheat (i.e. new relationship kisses). Stef and Lena aren’t breaking up, they’re not gonna cheat, so how do they build up to big moments, this is one way. I don’t have to like it. Someone earlier mentioned a sitcom and that might be the only kind of show where we could get casual kisses all the time. Comedies aren’t building towards big climatic moments so it would just be casual and funny. I’d like that show, I’d watch that show. However, I’d also miss the big dramatic moments. So, I feel like this show has given us both. And we still have a long ways to go. I trust that this isn’t being done maliciously, that’s all I am saying.

[1 of 2] “Bradley was clear on twitter, it’s not censorship or the 8pm hour. It’s a choice they’re making and that we aren’t patient enough.”   One of the most ridiculous things I’ve read about the Fosters.  They write & portray a couple very much in love, some of their scenes obviously & naturally called for a kiss, but the people who watch the show aren’t patient enough?  Really?!!! Not enough time or space to express how arrogant and unreasonably/irrationally ridiculous that is. [1 of 2]
Anonymous said:
[2 of 2] “Bradley was clear on twitter, it’s not censorship or the 8pm hour. It’s a choice they’re making and that we aren’t patient enough.”  The fandom has been very patient & loyal to the Fosters, in spite of many fan’s frustations (storylines, balance between drama/crisis vs triumphs, timeline, etc), we kept watching.  It’s one thing to say be patient to see how a storyline will play out, but to say we aren’t patient enough when a scene naturally calls for a kiss is unfair & unjustifiable.
Put yourself in Bradley’s shoes. He has been hearing about the kisses this season from episode 1. Yeah, the fandom is impatient. I get it. We don’t have a lot of choices as lesbians. We crave it, it’s important to us. No show is perfect, show me a show where no fan complains? it’s not just us, Brad replied today to a frustrated Brallie fan. In reality the best thing he could do is just not answer any of us but he does. I appreciate it sometimes because while he refuses to reassure others, he reassures us. They are never breaking up, they’ll always be in love and he’s the biggest shipper.  I believe him.
I am telling you, fandom can get pretty mean-spirited. I am not speaking about you, I am talking about the things fans have said to showrunners that I have seen. If I like a show, I don’t really follow online fandom, unless I am shipping lesbians. I break my rule then because there are tons of things I can enjoy in fandom and try to ignore all the other things. However, shows without lesbians, I don’t want spoilers, I don’t want fanwars. I don’t want any of it.
Back to the question at hand, everyone knows, I am not afraid to call anyone out when i feel things are unfair or what have you. There have been times when the lack of kissing has led me to complain. And part of it for me is feeling like the show would be cancelled suddenly and we wouldn’t get their payoff. I am fairly confident at this point that they have the show plotted out through season 5. Whatever is going to happen will happen. I have accepted that. I’ve also been given many gifts, patience has paid off.
Again, I don’t know the reason why they are doing it (to divulge on their part would be to spoil) but I do know with confidence that it is not malicious. Period. No doubt. So, i am not going to angrily demand this and that. It’s not going to happen at this point because for the most part, the dry spells have been plot related. The dry spell right now has been countered with some kick ass affection and kick ass communication. They seem more like a healthy couple than ever. If there’s no payoff or it’s lame, I will complain. I do understand that they try to build towards these great Stef and Lena moments and there are limited ways in which they could do that. I’d love next season to see that plot line where they can’t enough of each other but keep getting interrupted. That would be an amazing build up full of moments all along the way. I would write that in their potential last season. Will they? Who knows.
That’s my opinion, considering where we are. I totally respect yours.
