heres the thing about batman being called irresponsible for letting children be vigilantes. in the silver age comics batman never wanted jason to be a vigilante but he kept going behind his back and punching bad guys anyway so like. fuck it if ur gonna do this u might as well have adult supervision. like th thing is child vigilantes seem to be extremely common in this universe. does that mean its a good thing? well u know how some parents r like "my kid doesnt need to learn about drugs/alcohol or online safety or sex ed bc they wont be doing any of that!" and thats like not a good excuse to not teach ur kids about those things and how they can be dangerous bc there r kids who will do them anyways and if its ur kids u might as well teach them how to do it safely. like batman is trying to protect these kids and obviously making them vigilantes arent his first choice of action but its what ended up happening. he doesnt want them going after the wrong people or getting hurt becaus theyre doing this solo. they need batman to guide them through this. despite all this batman tries to bench jason bc he was a danger to himself n others. he didnt "fire" him he was just trying to protect him.it may have been the wrong course of action bc when jason thinks he can locate his mom he doesnt ask bruce for help since hes not supposed to be doing robin work rn so he goes out on his own and dies. its not his fault (he was a kid) but it couldve been avoided if batman was there
