definitely more than seven sentences BUT i have been having so much fun with this survivor au fic and writing from different POVs so here's a snippet from Tommy's!

“Red and Yellow, you must now each decide who you think your weakest player is,” Jeff announces. Tommy’s ears perked up at this. She wasn’t expecting this, based on her very limited knowledge of the game. A quick look around at the surprised faces on her team tells her that she’s not the only one. 

The group huddles up to discuss who they’re serving up to Jeff on a platter. A Latino man with curly brown hair is the first to speak – Carlos, if Tommy remembers correctly.

“What does he mean by weakest, though?” he asks. “Weakest physically? Weakest as in who we think is going to be voted out first? Like, what standards are we judging this by?” He looks genuinely confused. 

The firefighter-paramedic, TK, responds with a kind smile. “I think he just means weakest, generally speaking? Whatever that means to us,” he offers helpfully. Carlos’s face scrunches in confusion, clearly just as uncertain as he was before TK’s answer.

“Well if none of you are going to put out a name, I’m just gonna say what we’re all thinking,” the mousey brown-haired paramedic says. He points a finger at Ty, Serena, and Tommy – the three older players in the tribe. “It’s obviously one of you three,” he declares, crossing his arms indignantly. Tommy knew she didn’t like this kid. 

“You think because we’re old, we’re weak?” Ty, the white-haired police sergeant asks, eyebrow raised in a challenge.

Pearce shrugs. “I’m just stating the obvious here. We’re all thinking it.”

“Dude, do not lump me in with you,” the other paramedic, Nancy, says. “I was raised to respect my elders.”
