Sorbet joining the space police doesn't really feel like a thematically strong way to top off her arc.

Her big concerns were about how she's not going to go to school anymore due to financial struggles and how she's struggling with pessimism after seeing how rotten people can be. Joining the space cops doesn't address those. If anything it's worse for the second issue she's having because she'll be shown the worst of society again and again and again.
