He'll be helping you put on the clasp of a necklace and would steal a little peck that would take you by surprise. So cute. He's also very much into pecking your shoulders and burying his head in your neck—his way of asking you to play with his hair. Like you will be watching some stupid rom com and the next thing you know, Suguru is latched onto you, nibbling onto your shoulder as he buries himself in your neck. His breath softly tickles your skin and you know no one’s going to watch the movie anymore. So you give into his antics as your fingers card through his hair as a hum of satisfaction leaves his lips. 

"oh! what was that for?" you yelped in a welcomed surprise as you felt a little nibble on the side of your neck which was quickly soothed by the feeling of your lover's warm tongue.

Now Gojo is a flirt. He's a stupid idiot and a flirt. He'll do anything to tease you and rile you up if I'm being honest. He'll get close to you, breaths mingling together as he holds you against his hard chest. You can smell his rich boy cologne so clearly and you're sure he can probably hear your erratic heartbeat. It's all impossibly slow and you close your eyes, waiting for his lips to land on yours and then.....they land on your cheek! Your eyes shoot open at the howling laughter from the menace that is Gojo Satoru. He gives a detailed recollection of your face from just a few seconds ago and you realise he can never not get on your nerves.

"Satoru I fucking hate you," you whine, pouting a bit, your body sulking as you look away, arms folded and a rose tint on your cheeks.

The next thing you know, Satoru's arms are around your waist for a second time as you're impossibly close to him....again. Except now his lips are quick to land upon yours. you move your arms to grip on his hair while he tightens his arms around you. He sucks on your bottom lip, licking and nibbling it. Your surprised gasp allowed him his entrance into your mouth, your tongues gliding against each other's as both of your lips were covered with thick coats of saliva. His hand moved along your back, gripping your neck, then face and then back around your waist. You wish you could kiss him like this forever but your lack of oxygen compelled you to part.

You panted as you looked at him, his sapphire eyes holding love, passion, desire and something more—mischief perhaps?

Come on. When I started writing this, I just knew Nanami had to be a forehead kiss man. He just radiates a sense of safety and comfort if you know what I mean. Imagine the both of you are at your shared apartment and you are just talking on the sofa and he's smiling at you and when you ask what's up he just takes your face in his big hand and leaves a long kiss on your forehead.

I just know Nanami comes home and the first thing he does is hug you tightly, as if to never let you go. He then proceeds to hold you gently by your neck as he leaves a lasting kiss on your temple.

Even before bed, after saying your good nights when you are all cuddled up with him, he'll softly leave a chaste kiss on your forehead, muttering 'sweet dreams' before you both lull to sleep. It's endearing really.

Especially when you're tired or stressed from work or life and you confide in him for comfort. He will hold you so tightly while you feel at home in his arms. One of his hands will be pressing your head to his chest while the other grabs you around the waist. You love being held by him.

"thank you kento, I feel better," you separate from him, smiling up at him in gratitude and appreciation.

he just hums in response, returning your smile with one of his own endearing ones. He moves a lock of your hair behind your ear as he brings his lips to your forehead. you close your eyes, basking in his warmth and comfort.

Kento's forehead kisses and hugs ensured you that you would always have a place to call home as long as he's with you. You'd always be safe in his arms. He'd always be yours.

Toddlers sometimes talk later than they should and speak almost exclusively through body language and a few open mouthed sounds so their teeth don't click together

Their nails harden and begin becoming claws, will soon begin to scratch on harder things to experiment with a different type of cause and effect, as well sensory experiences

Beginning playdates with pups around the same age is recommended, as well as giving them a security object of their choice that's heavily scented by their pack

By 3 is using those new claws to dig into whatever possible and climb as high as they can. Pup proofing is a must.

May crouch onto all fours when they run, and may have trouble losing momentum when they go too fast resulting in a lot of falls

Teething should be basically done by now and speaking should be back on track or jumpstarted in a couple months

Territorialness should be calming down. They should stop outwardly objecting to foreign people and objects being in their space

𑁍 4-5 years

Should begin to use more vocal communication beside their spoken and body language (like yipping, yowling, chuffing, and in some instances barking or howling)

Will also repeat sounds or actions that typically belong to omegas, betas, alphas, or all three despite not having matured yet

They should also start copying the motions to scent people, and it is advised to correct them when they do the motions in inappropriate situations

They'll probably be pretty active, and easily become stir crazy

They should start using words more than vocalisation and purposeful body language

Pups who develop early may get their heats/ruts at this time

Some may begin to start branching away from the pack and subconsciously looking to start another one

First heat/ruts tend to occur around 13-15 years old

Omegas tend to mature first

Litter mates tend to mature one after the other, sometimes with only days between each other

Minor vocalisation will progress into adulthood and any purposefully telegraphed body language should become second nature to them

Many pups display highly aggressive behavior or displeased scents for many of their teen years. Without proper stress relief moodiness and build up in their scent glands is common

[6] You Get A Visitor in the ER

Summary: You're working overtime when you get a visit from an unexpected someone who makes your shift just a bit less excruciating.

About two weeks ago, you woke up in the middle of the night to a hard thump from Liam’s room

You were in his doorway in a flash, of course, because what if he’s dying

And tbh you were kinda close

Turns out he fell out of his bed and the lower right side of his abdomen was hurting really bad

You figured out pretty quick that he probably had appendicitis, which is definitely not ideal

So one rather tense ambulance ride and night in the ER and OR later, you wheeled Liam out of the hospital in a wheelchair so he wouldn't mess up his stitches too much after literally getting an organ removed

You texted James to let him know what happened and that Liam would be staying hope from school for a week to recover

(James had managed to give you his number under the guise of offering to drive Liam to and from school in the future and although you haven't had to ask or even use his number at all, he still has you as one of his pinned contacts)

(Sirius and Remus make fun of him for it)

(Your contact photo is actually a photo of Liam where he's smiling really big while mixing cookie dough for your birthday, which was about three months ago)

As always, James was totally sympathetic and understanding and even dropped by your apartment after school with work for Laim so he wouldn't fall too far behind

You took the week off from work to watch Liam, of course

But you're paying for it now bc your CNO super sucks and isn't understanding at all when it comes to your kid

So now he has you working a fucking double to make up for your missed days

Two 12-hour shifts in a row, 6AM to 6AM

Not fucking fun, dude

(Your CNO is the absolute worst—this is the one that James is pretty sure violates labor laws pretty consistently)

He actually wanted you to do three doubles over the next two weeks but Poppy (not the CNO, but she’s been a nurse at this hospital for time immemorial) told him off, so you only have to do the one today

And at the very least, it’s in the ER

Which isn’t terrible

Definitely not as bad as med-surg

I mean yeah, it can be stressful but it’s nowhere near as bad as medical dramas make it out to be, and it’s pretty rewarding most of the time

It’s a Friday, so Tonks watched Liam in the morning and took him to school, where Ms. Hope picked him up and held onto him for a couple hours until it was time for Ron's sleepover, which she then dropped him off at

So he’s safe and taken care of

And it’s been a pretty quiet night tbh

There was a big car crash during rush hour in the morning but beyond that, nothing super crazy or out of the ordinary

So now you’re on triage duty with Poppy (which just means you and her are hanging out and talking while waiting for something—anything—to happen)

Lily, one of the administrative aides that checks people into the ER, finally pokes her head into the ER at half past ten at night, and it’s rather urgent

Apparently someone’s cut their had pretty badly

You lose a rapid-fire game of rock paper scissors against Poppy, so it’s you that goes to evaluate the patient

But when you enter the ER fast track, you’re really quite surprised

"James?"

To be fair, James is also quite surprised to see you, it's just that he's more smiley and pleased than distressed

He’s hovering near one of the beds and has what seems to be a kitchen towel wrapped around his palm, which you now see has been bleeding quite profusely

You’re at his side embarrassingly quickly and asking him standard questions as he stares at you with a rather glassy look on his face

What happened? Cut my hand while cooking. Can you feel your hand? Um, yeah, it … it hurts pretty bad. Can you tell if it’s still bleeding? I can’t really, no. Do you feel lightheaded at all? Mm, yeah, just … just a bit. Did someone drive you here? Yeah, um, Sirius did … they told him to wait in the lobby.

James is in shock, that much is clear

You ease him to take a seat on the bed and quickly grab a couple forms, which you fill out as you continue asking him questions

Poor boy gets really concerned when you make for the door to the ER proper but ofc you reassure him you’ll be back in a second

You ask Poppy to get Dr. Longbottom before quickly returning to James

And James—Sweet Summer Child James—he's just asking you what you’re doing here so late, if Liam is at Ms. Hope’s, just random questions that aren’t super related to one another

He’s super out of it but you entertain his thoughts and answer whatever questions come to his mind as you ensure that his kitchen towel is applying a decent enough amount of pressure

Alice shows up pretty quickly with a suture tray and asks you to clean James’ cut as she gets ready, which you readily do

You also let her know that James isn’t exactly all there, to which she smiles amusedly and says she can see that lmao

James is kinda confused at first when Alice tries to take away the towel around his hand, but you gently explain what's happening and he understands pretty quick

He looks down at his hand when you finally uncover the cut (it’s long but clean—easy to stitch right up) and poor boy gets a little too light headed at the sight of all the blood that’s covering his hands and the kitchen towel and your latex-gloved hands

James just about falls over onto your shoulder lmaooooo

He doesn’t quite pass out, just like a severe wave of lightheadedness

You quickly encourage him off of your shoulder and you and Alice manage to lay him down on the hospital bed just so he won’t fall off of it and hurt himself if he does decide to pass out

The cut is easy to clean despite how bloody it is, and you round the bed to James’ opposite side as Alice prepares to administer the anesthetic and sew James’ hand up

This entire time, James has just been following your around with his eyes

He’s never gotten to see you work before and it’s really quite interesting to him

And he loves that you’re taking care of him (Such Gentle! Yay!)

Alice asks you to keep James talking and distracted while she sews him up and you happily obliged

It’s kinda hard to keep James talking though because he just keeps asking you questions

By the time Alice is finished with James’ hand, you’ve told him about Liam’s recovery, your shift so far, and how shitty your CNO is for making you work a double

James is much more lucid by the time his stitches are finished which is great because he was sort of starting to worry you

But he’s pretty much all there now :)

He’s also disclosed to you that he cut his hand while trying to take the pit out of an avocado, which you find absolutely hilarious even though you couldn’t really laugh at your own patient

Alice leaves you to wrap James’ hand in protective gauze and give him post-op care instructions

And James is honestly thrilled that your shift has been a quiet one

Because he’s sure that if anyone beyond you two were in the fast track, they would have seen clear as day how he looked at you while you wrapped some soft gauze firmly around his palm

He’s lucky though because you’re tired after working for about sixteen hours with eight still to go, so you don’t really notice the look in his eyes

You give him the normal spiel—wash around the area of the stitches with soap and water not hydrogen peroxide, put vaseline over it, wrap in a non-stick bandage, the works

By the time you’re done, James is just kinda staring at you

You tack on at the end that he can always text you or drop by your apartment to make sure he’s taking care of them correctly

Sirius leaps up from his chair in the lobby when he sees James finally come out of the ER

He was lowkey super worried bc he knows James is the slightest bit squeamish around blood

But now he’s also like super confused bc James is looking at his newly bandaged hand like it had the best compliment ever written on the palm

It’s only on the car ride home that Sirius finally weasels it out of James

Apparently Liam’s mom was working in the ER and she was the one who bandaged up his hand for him after he got stitched up

And apparently, when James was complaining lightly that his palm still hurt right as he was about to leave, she brushed a light kiss against his palm and whispered something to him about how kisses make everything better

Sirius practically has to pick his jaw up off the floor as he and James walked into the latter’s apartment, where Remus had apparently finished their rather bloody attempt at guacamole

And then of course he made James explain what happened to Remus, who just laughs and shakes his head

James’ only regret is that he was too stunned to do anything except wave goodbye as you left

Secondly, CROSSHAIR. They kept Crosshair's old armor, even as they had to lose and repurpose and probably sell parts of their own kits while surviving.. they kept his armor intact NOBODY TOUCH ME.

As I thought, it seems Hunter and co will reunite with Omega and Cross in the premiere. This isn't surprising bc I couldn't imagine Omega being in captivity for long, she is the central kid character and has to be in the thick of all their adventures.

Re: Tech. I know in my heart that Tech is alive but tbh I'm one of the few people who doesn't want the brainwashed Imperial Tech plotline bc it feels redundant at this point, we already had Echo and Cross as victim of experiments/brainwashing.

Mostly I'm just tired of seeing clone characters getting stripped of their agency to a ridiculous degree when it's not necessary for their character development at all, at some point it starts to feel like angst for angst's sake bad fanfiction style. I just want to see him being his capable self, not another victim in distress.. Combined with how a portion of this fandom has a tendency to infantilize him, I'm feeling some level of trepidation if Imp!Tech is indeed where this is going. Oh and another thought on Johnny training his puppy-

You know how dogs have that one person they latch onto and get protective over if something happens to them or someone threatens them?

Simon is obviously Johnny's person and while Johnny knows Simon can take care of himself, he still can't help that protectiveness in him.

So maybe one day their little puppy tries to snap at Simon. Or maybe she even manages to hit him during a punishment.

And Simon, in his daze at their little puppy's audacity to even do that, doesn't get a chance to react because good boy Johnny immediately reacts to snarl at her. He stands protectively in front of Simon, baring his teeth at her and growling that no one lays a finger on his person, not even his beloved puppy.

So with a quick glance back at Simon to see if he's okay (obviously he is) and asking him if he can punish the pup instead, Simon let's Johnny take care of their naughty little puppy, showing her that if she wants to act like a big bad dog, then she can play with one too.

It starts simple before it gets complicated, as these things tend to do.

There are exactly two things that keep you motivated in this job—the smoke breaks you take 5 times a day, and the off-chance of seeing Ghost around the base.  That’s it.  Two things.

And one of those was being ruined by your newest friend’s lack of enthusiasm for the other thing.

“I bet he's blond.”

Simon just takes a deep drag of his cigarette, looking at you with the distinctively irritated side eye that he gives you about 12 times a day.

“Ask me why I think he's blond.”

“No.”

But you’re undeterred.  “He just has that energy, you know.  I’ve only ever seen him with MacTavish, and he stands there like a tall, sexy, dumb…tree.  Like, I bet he’s fucking gorgeous, but he’s also giving blond himbo.”

Simon’s eyes roll up to the sky in irritation.  “I dunno what himbo means.”

“Yeah you do.  You said you’ve worked with Ghost before.”

You almost want to perform a pirouette in joy at getting Simon to finally look at you.  “N’ what of it?”

“Then you know what a himbo is.  It’s Ghost.”

You don’t even try to contain your manic laughter when Simon just about turns and leaves.

What Simon doesn’t understand (the cantankerous bastard) is that you’ve made eye contact with Ghost a few times around the base.  The man is more elusive than average, even in this line of work.  His presence around the base is...well.  Entirely consistent with his moniker.  The man is a ghost.  

Sometimes you wonder if it’s all really performative, but something about the way he moves in the spaces around him leads you to conclude that maybe he’s omnipresent after all.  He'll catch your attention from the periphery of your vision, only to disappear when you try to actively seek him out.  He melts into the background of wherever he looms, like a shadow. (Or a Ghost).  There and not there, all at once.

And on the rare occasions you’ve seen him around, he keeps to himself.  Not surprising, given everything you know about him (which isn't a lot), but what is interesting to you is the way he looks at you.  And when he’s around, he does look at you.

You can't say you mind, considering you look at him too.  Even after all these years working with big, handsome, massive men and women, day in and day out, you still can't say you've gotten used to it.  And you could never be used to someone like Ghost.  

But then there’s Simon.  The other man you’re finding yourself increasingly attracted to.  

They tell you he’s only there temporarily and as punishment.  You can't even begin to imagine who could (and would even dare to) punish the big grump.  You don’t actually know why he’s being punished with desk duty, and even if you wanted to, you have no way of finding out.  He won’t tell you, and neither will your supervisor. 

More importantly, you decide, you couldn’t care less. 

Simon’s punishment means that your week has suddenly become very, very interesting.  The mood around the office is different while Simon sits at your absentee colleague’s desk.  People are quieter around him—uneasy and the slightest bit put off by his brutish nature. But you can’t deny that there is something about Simon, something you can’t quite seem to put your finger on.  The man is just...effortlessly sexy.  

You sit across the room from him, but facing him, and so every time you look up, he’s there.  The height of the desks combined with the height of this mammoth man mean that you can’t see his entire face, but his eyes stick out from the top of the desk partition, and it’s enough to create…issues for you. 

Five days ago, when you'd walked into the office, and noticed a stranger on Davis’ seat, you hadn't actually known it was him.  He was just...some guy.  A nose that looked like it had spent more time being broken than not, wicked scars running down his face and into his lips, mean-looking but with the most expressive brown eyes.  And then your supervisor introduced him to your team as Simon.  And that was it.  Thus had begun your love affair with permanent arousal. 

You must be one of Pavlov’s dogs with how you’ve been conditioned to associate the feeling of his eyes on your face with wetness between your legs.  It’s mercilessly constant and you’re left feeling achy and unsatisfied every day, having to content yourself with rubbing your thighs together for some much needed relief.  And through it all, Simon just watches you.

You know he’s interested.  And he must know of your reciprocity, because your traitor face gives it away, and because his interest is quickly replaced by smugness.  

During a brief stint of temporary insanity, you consider confronting him about it.  But what would you even say?   So sorry, Simon, you big, scary, grouch, but would you just please hit this and we can both call it a day and I can move on to making heart eyes at Ghost again? Hehe, no.

But you’re stubborn to a fault, so you befriend him (albeit with you doing most of the hard work in your “friendship”) and downplay your attraction, while he pretends he doesn’t spend most of the day making bedroom eyes at you.  Win-win.

And if you end up carrying an extra pair of panties in your purse, then it’s not like he needs to know about it.

sure! i apologize if these are short. i also apologize for how long it took me to answer this (its been like 2 months or smth T-T. i made these a while ago but i forgot to post them). @ariscats helped me with some of these. hope you like them <3.

also, for context, most of these (if not all) take place during their years in college. i like to imagine that their colleges are close enough that they can live together in an apartment (idk if this will even be necessary but i just wanted to specify)

they live in quite a huge apartment. their apartment is sort of split into two. they live on one side and security live on the other side of a soundproof wall so they can have privacy. their apartment sort of resembles a house tbh bc of how big it is. it has tons of guest rooms, an indoor pool, a rock climbing wall, and more (its basically like a smaller version of hawthorne house) (i also imagine them having a smaller cozier place, but they would obviously need security so that wouldn't work).

jameson obviously made sure that people built secret passages throughout the apartment. he didn't tell avery about them and made her find all of them.

they usually do all of their school work in the same room. surprisingly, they don't get distracted. they both have their own little corner in this big room in their apartment thats decorated to their liking. avery's corner is filled with novels, prizes she's received, photos and little fairy lights (she has those hung up bc she used to have some in her room at her mom's apartment growing up and it reminds her of her mom). jameson's side is filled with his own prizes, puzzles and riddles, and tons of gifts his brothers gave him growing up.

no matter what, they always take a shower together at the end of the day (i dont mean this in a non pg-13 way but they enjoy washing each other's hair and the physical intimacy). they don't really like to spend time apart and they're so busy that usually they do this as a way to make up for all of the time they spent apart (they also obviously sleep in the same bed).

although they have staff that cooks for them, they sometimes don't use them bc they like cooking meals for one another especially on days where they know their partner isn't doing so well. they'll sometimes surprise each other with a nice candle-lit dinner on their balcony or in their dining room.

avery sometimes falls asleep at her desk bc of how much she overworks herself. jameson, being in the same room as her, notices and carries her back to bed every time. when she wakes up, he prepares a bubble bath for her so she can relax.

when one of them is under a lot of stress, the other makes them change into their swimsuit and drags them over to their indoor swimming pool. they get the cooks to make them smth to eat and they have a little date in the water.

they have a tv in their room bc they absolutely love watching shows and movies. like i said earlier, they tend to spend most of their days doing their own thing so they usually only get to spend time together at night. this is sort of their equivalent to a date during their college years.

jameson sometimes wakes her up with breakfast in bed and a puzzle. he has trouble sleeping so he usually wakes up really early in the morning giving him time to prepare her some food.

their apartment is filled with blankets. they both get cold really easily so there's literally a blanket in every single room. sometimes, when they're working and are really cold, they huddle up on the sofa, bring their books and laptops (basically everything they need), and work next to each other under super fluffy blankets.

whenever they fight, they make sure to resolve it before going to bed bc they hate going to bed mad at each other. they usually also do smth special for one another to apologize like making the other a snack or setting up their living room for a movie night.

they do the new york crossword every single day. they dont really have the time to sit down and do it so usually they read it and think about it as they're doing other things and complete it later at night before bed.

music is always playing in their house (from like early in the morning to late at night). they're both really big fans of music so they have speakers in almost every single room of their house. the music isn't loud enough to distract them though.

whenever jameson enters a room and sees avery (and she doesn't notice him), he immediately heads towards her (quietly so she doesn't hear him), wraps his arms around her from behind and either kisses her all over her face until she begs him to stop or tickles her.

avery's has had so many near death experiences that jameson can't go to bed unless he checks every single lock in the house to make sure she's safe. it doesn't matter if he's so tired he literally can't stand, he can't fall asleep unless he's sure all the doors are locked (he also doesn't trust anyone else to check. it has to be him)

jameson is never as busy as avery is bc she has to deal with school and the foundation. this means jameson's day usually ends before avery's does. instead of leaving and doing smth else though, he usually sits next to her or just sits at his desk watching her (not in a creepy way more of like a 'i love her so much i can't look away') cause he loves being in her presence. jameson tries to act like he isn't just staying in the room to be with her but avery knows the truth.

this is a simple one but jameson always wakes avery up with kisses and cuddles. he'll whisper sweet nothings into her ear and stuff (i mentioned earlier that jameson has a hard time sleeping so he always wakes up before avery). on the rare occasion that avery wakes up before him, she does the same.

they usually can't get out of the apartment for dates bc 1. they're busy and 2. they can never get any privacy when they're out. bc of this, they usually have their date nights at home. they still dress up though. avery puts on a nice dress and jameson actually puts on a suit. they pretend like they're going out and all even though they're staying home. they do go out though, just not as often as they have dates at home.

they have a hot tub on their balcony (*cough* thl hot tub scene *cough*). a lot of their dates are spent in the hot tub. they have this table on wheels that passes over the hot tub so they can have meals together as the sun goes down.

they had a hard time agreeing on how they should decorate the apartment so they decided that they would split all of the rooms between each other and they'd get to choose how to decorate their assigned rooms by themselves (so like avery decorated the kitchen and he decorated the living room, etc) (the only room they both decorated together is their bedroom)

btw this is a hangover from a big tweeting I did the other day but I really need fellow Britishers to understand that a major reason we have not seen the rollback of abortion rights the way the US has with the repeal of Roe v Wade is literally that we have never had the right to abortion.

Abortion is illegal in the UK. there are exemptions meaning that it's possible to get a legal abortion but abortion per se is a crime, and not in an abstract theoretical sense - like 6 people are currently serving sentences for getting abortions in England, and the maximum sentence is life imprisonment.

And this just isn't something most of us talk about or are even aware of tbh. I wasn't aware of it when I had my abortion. When I mention to people that abortion is illegal in the UK they are almost always surprised.

So for clarity, there are two sets of exemptions and if your abortion doesn't meet them fully, it is illegal and punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment for providers and up to life imprisonment for the person recieving the abortion (in England and Wales. In Scotland the penalties are less clear, and in Northern Ireland you can no longer be tried for recieving an illegal abortion, only for providing it or seeking it for someone else. NI law is substantially different and better from the rest of the UK and has fully decriminalised abortion up to 12 weeks)

The two sets of exemptions are:

1) Before 24 weeks

An abortion is legal only if:

two separate medical professionals agree before the fact that continuing the pregnancy will produce more damage to the pregnant person's physical or mental health, or to their existing children, than an abortion will.

AND

the procedure takes place before 24 weeks; ie, the last legal point to get an abortion under these exemptions is 23 weeks, 6 days after the last day of your last period. (Based on my personal experience, if you don't track your period, they'll make a guess based on your first ultrasound and then count from there.)

AND

The procedure takes place under medical supervision if it's performed after 10 weeks (at-home abortion was legalised up to 10 weeks during the pandemic) and is procured through licensed medical professionals.

After 24 weeks

After the cutoff of 23 weeks 6 days, an abortion can only legally happen if:

or

Two separate medical professionals agree before the fact that abortion is the only viable way to prevent death or grave permanent injury to the pregnant person.

The attending doctor or surgeon deems that without an immediate abortion, the pregnant person will die (because they've waived the legal requirement of two medical approvals, the doctor is then on the hook to justify that there wasn't time to wait for a second opinion without putting the patient's life at unacceptable risk)

AND to be legal, abortions that meet these criteria must also be under medical supervision, but given that the only legal way to have an abortion after 24 weeks is urgent medical need, that's unsurprising.

The eugenicsy one

At any point in the pregnancy, an abortion is also legal if:

Two separate medical professionals agree ahead of time

AND

The baby is going to be born with severe physical or mental handicaps

yeah baybeeeee you can't abort because you want to not be pregnant after 24 months but at ANY TIME you can abort to prevent there being more yucky disabled people. Ok.

So there isn't a total ban, but abortion is still a criminal offence, and because the law around abortion isn't well publicised, it's really easy to accidentally fall outside it even when you're doing everything right - there are multiple cases of women being tried for abortions they didn't realise were illegal and had got through formal NHS channels. In at least one case, the criminal act was getting the abortion less than 48 hours after the cutoff date - an abortion at 24 weeks 1 day instead of 23 weeks 6 days.

Where people don't track their periods, this is really fuzzy and an abortion which is legal when performed can become illegal after the fact if it's concluded that their last period was earlier than stated.

As well, the need for abortion to happen before 23 weeks 6 days, and to have gone through a minimum of two referrals, means that people who are unable to access doctor's appointments CANNOT get an abortion legally, and given the glacial pace of NHS referrals, if you don't know you're pregnant or struggle to get an initial appointment, your legal window can get very small very fast. I had two and a half weeks between calling the doctor and the point where I wouldn't be legally allowed to abort, and I got my abortion TWO DAYS before the cutoff point - if I hadn't been able to take the 8am appointment in a different city they gave me, I would have been too late.

We don't have a right to abort. All we have are loopholes. ABORTION IS CRIMINALISED UNDER UK LAW.

So I was up from 12am to 5am reading ACFTL and I honestly can't believe that it's over now. Like my brain can genuinely not wrap my head around it. The book I have been waiting for months. The series I've been reading since it was only ouabh. I honestly can't believe it's done now.

So these are just my thoughts on acftl: (SPOILERS BTW)

So I want to start with things I didn't like because I like to end things on a more positive note:

● There was a lot of potential for other things that Stephanie has hinted to in the past (just basically a lot of unanswered questions) that I can't simply believe isn't anything bigger:

> "too familiar nickname" when Jacks called her Little Fox for the first time. This had the potential to be something really big, but the fact that Eva has no connection to the fox is just leaving me confused (as in being the first fox or a reincarnation). Like how. Especially when it was heavily hinted to in the past.

> "heavier than an apple should've been" when Jacks threw an apple at Eva in ouabh. I don't understand what this was supposed to mean if it just ended up being nothing. Like why did it have to be mentioned

> An Evajacks wedding was heavily hinted to in ouabh (even the reverse dust jacket for bn acftl). I just would have liked to see that.

● For me, some of the plot points just felt very disconnected and not linked, to the point where it felt like just random things being stringed together. Like it felt like things were just happening, as if I was reading different books at the same time.

● Acftl kinda feels like after tbona, Stephanie went online and saw everyone's theories and aimed to do the exact opposite. Sometimes I felt so confused because it felt like random facts and points were just thrown at me. Or this felt like this was the original version that Stephanie wrote.

●Why was time personified constantly?

●Where was my boy, Luc? I love him and I missed him so much. I was waiting for him to pop up on the page or make a creepy/funny appearance ("Hello, Eva" - I always laughed when he pulled stuff like this).

●Even though she's not relevant, where was Marisol? You can't tell me she just disappeared. I would have just liked to know what happened to her.

●Aurora's role felt so random.

●The whole thing about Jacks's curse felt to simple and barely touched on.

●I would have liked a better answer on Jacks’s obsession with apples. Like I understand it was left like that on purpose but it would have been nice.

●I would have liked the return of Scarlet and Tella. They were the ones who sent Evangeline to the Magnificent North. It would have been nice to see them after all of that and Jacks and Tella could have gotten some sort of closure.

●I love how everyone was hell-bent on the fact that apollo is lysander. The fact that everyone believed Apollo was Lysander started to make me doubt it. When Lysander appeared on the page, I was surprised tbh.

● Tbona established their clear feelings for each other and acftl was them just accepting it.

●Anyways I need domestic evajacks. Like 20 chapters. The bonus epilogues healed me.

My theories that were actually right: ●Tiberius slashing Apollo’s back

●Aurora having some type of magic and being the true villain. I was so sure that she was obsessed with Jacks and placed the Archer's curse.

~"My turn" if you know, you know. Something I never knew I needed. And I need more. There is never such thing as too much Evajacks.

Me having mixed feelings about acftl hurts so much because I've been waiting for this book for so long (I've been reading this series since it was only ouabh). I haven't been able to wrap my head around the fact that this is the official book. Ouabh and Tbona were soo amazing. They were so magical and fairytale like and I cried after I finished acftl, not just because the series was over (because I did) but because it didn't live up to the expectations I had and the high standards that ouabh and tbona set.

This series will always and forever be the series I go back to when I'm sad. Regardless of how it ended, I loved it because Stephanie created a new definition of magic and fairytale for me.
