(She was nervous about letting me post the gif and required that I clarified that it's a low effort, quick animation she only made to get a laugh out of me, lol. She was correct about making me laugh. I was in tears for, like, an hour.)

These pieces of art are both from an AU of mine that we roleplay a lot.

I'd explain more, but it's built off an alternate timeline/universe of @wutheringmights story "Call them brothers". And I'm not sure what her rules are about fanart or fanfics, mostly because I never asked or looked into it and I never intended to.

I make AUs for the fanfics I read, write fanfics for those fanfics with thousands upon thousands of words in them and then never post them or do anything other than hand them to my sister to read. She does the same with her art.

...Fandoms are messy enough without me accidentally stepping on someone's toes. (I think my sister doesn't post her art because she's too unconfident though.)

That aside, Call them brothers is literally my favorite fic I've ever read. I know we like to throw that phrase around in the fandom a lot, but I have every intention of getting that sucker printed and bound once it's finished. I've been reading Fanfiction for nearly a decade and this is the first one I've wanted to do that for.

If you're a person who enjoys darker stories and want a story line with some actual consequences for the characters, I'd totally recommend it. The last time I was this gut punched over characters and their development was Red Rising by Peirce Brown (My favorite published book series ever), and Wuthering's descriptions of a war ravaged country and all it's horrors is fucking immaculate.

I found Call them brothers through my desire to see a longer fic that had Spirit Tracks Link, and it did. not. disappoint.

Wuthering's takes on what Spirit's abilities, character traits, and game culture/lore are currently my favorite I've seen from anyone in the fandom, and I would doubly recommend the fic just for that.

That said, it's not a story for the faint of heart. It's Dark. With a capital 'd' for a reason. Wuthering doesn't add all those tag warnings for no reason. Also, if you can't stand to see one of the Link bois written as anything other than what the mainstream interpretation for them is, this isn't for you. War isn't out of character, but he's certainly a bold take. A fantastic one, but bold none the less.

Plus there's mild mentions of Links being interested in other character's that aren't their Zeldas or their typical love interests. There is NO shipping of the Jojo's characters amongst each other, but if you're the kind of person who can't stand alluding to characters having crushes that aren't Link x Zelda, it isn't for you.

I know there's some people in the fandom who don't like that kind of thing, so I thought I'd mention it. Also, you've been warned so no being mean to Wutheringmights about it!

If you're okay with the things I've listed, please, please, please give it a read. @wutheringmights deserves all the love for writing something so good.

(Anyway, I could ramble for hours about all the reasons Wutheringmights is my favorite Author in the LOZ fandom, but this was supposed to just be a post about my lil sis's art that got waaaaay away from me.)

Alright, this is probably going to be a long response and not at all for the thing you expected, so buckle up lol.

First of all, thanks so much! That was a oneshot I wrote for @grantairesbottle because Nel asks and I deliver lol. I was mainly just frustrated that I couldn’t puzzle together a way for all three of them to do it; I kept trying to figure out exactly how the dynamics would work. I talked to Nel and Amanda about it a bunch until it made sense, and that oneshot was born!

I don’t think I���ll return to that universe, nor do I have a definitive answer on how they are in a throuple in that AU; sometimes my fic writing is more like an exercise. The Kathony twoshot I wrote called Office Hours was also a writing exercise; I just wanted to write something really smutty and see how I could make it work. Anyways, all this to say—I have some idea of what the future looks like for those three in that AU but I’ll leave it up to the readers to decide if they’re even a throuple at all or what their future looks like! :)

However, I’m so glad you asked about Anthony/Kate/Simon because they actually are a throuple in the Singing in the Rain AU I’m writing :) also for Nel lol!

(Important to note that this is a Singing in the Rain AU but it’s also sort Babylon and Gatsby inspired, and it’s also really about the death of the American dream. So it’s gritty and darker and more salacious and sexy and hardened than SITR is, like waaaaay more.)

I’m stoked to talk about it mainly because the AU focuses on Ben/Sophie, and the Anthony/Kate/Simon pairing is in the background, so it doesn’t feel like I’m spoiling anything. In this AU, Simon and Anthony are childhood best friends. Simon’s dad is terrible and abusive, and Anthony is really his only friend, and the two of them have a really deep friendship that blossoms into a relationship. Because it’s the 1920s, they have to keep it under wraps. When we meet them in the AU, they’re already established studio heads (Simon) and producers (Anthony). Simon is a fake relationship with Daphne (a lavender marriage, if you will), and Daphne, an actress, has a secret and fun on-off thing with longtime rival, Cressida Cowper. Anthony is a silent producer on a lot of Simon’s films and isn’t in the public eye, but he’ll still be photographed with girls hanging off of his arm at parties to keep appearances up.

Enter Kate.

So Benedict is the actor in this AU, playing the Don Lockwood type character, and he’s doing a play in Los Angeles that Kate is the set designer for. Anthony goes to see the play and is entranced by the sets, the paintings, everything. It’s an adaptation of Much Ado that has sets made to look like a beautiful countryside estate—the sets remind Anthony of Aubrey Hall, which is likely due to the fact that Ben described the estate to Kate, who used that as inspiration while doing the set design and building sets. (Important to note that this is a small production done with friends, which is why there’s so much collaboration and overlap happening in roles, and all because Ben is trying to be a “proper artist” and refuses help from Simon and Anthony to be launched in films, because he thinks they’re not real art, but he, of course, changes his tune.). ANYWAYS Anthony goes to the opening night party and insists on talking with the set designer and Ben introduces him to Kate. He’s taken aback—and half in love—but she misinterprets his shock and thinks he’s making fun of her, or doesn’t believe that a woman could have done it.

Anthony, however, is a rat boy, and he’s not letting cheese girl get away so easily.

He comes to every show and hangs around and tries to hire her. She’s wary of this big Hollywood producer trying to come and bring her onto a big set, doesn’t really trust him. But they’re them, and they fall for each other anyways, and he hires her to come work for him. They try and stay away from each other but he keeps hanging around sets while she’s working, which he’s never done before, and tongues start wagging.

What becomes a touch tricky is Simon. Simon has never loved anyone other than Anthony, and to be fair, until Kate, he never loved anyone other than Simon. But this complicates things. I’m skipping some stuff, but after some long conversations and some misunderstandings and things, Anthony and Kate get married, but Anthony and Simon continue to have a relationship. Kate is not involved in it necessarily, though she’s friends with Simon as well, and sometimes all three of them will 👀 but not always. That’s sort of the understanding; they’re a throuple, although Kathony are married (bc it’s acceptable to be), but those close to them know there’s three people in the relationship.

That’s sort of all I can say without spoiling the ending (which isn’t necessarily happily ever after for everyone!) but yeah :)

I'm just thinking about what you've said in the past about Zuko's morals in The Southern Raiders and what bugs me the most is that Zuko could have easily been Yon Rha. Yon Rha's big sin, as far as Zuko knows when he makes his proposal (before Katara tells him the whole story), was raiding the Southern Water Tribe in a manner which lead to someone's death, and Zuko raided both Kyoshi Island and the Southern Water Tribe. Zuko would be an acceptable target for vengeance under his own standards.

:'D very fair point of view, Anon. I've always focused on another angle with this particular problem, namely the fact that Zuko's traumatic Agni Kai happens because he was trying to defend soldiers from being used as bait, slain in battle as though their lives were meaningless... and then he's offering Katara his assistance with killing a soldier if that's the only way to become her friend. There's such a profound incompatibility between both ideas, such a massive rift in reasoning, that I can't help but wonder if Ozai, intentionally or not, actually taught Zuko through their Agni Kai that the lives of their people aren't worth anything after all.

In general, that episode's plot is just... very questionable. I understand these kids are jaded, they've seen pleeenty of ugly stuff and even done some ugly stuff themselves, but the core of the problem with Zuko, back in the day, was that his violent pursuit of the Avatar caused lots of trouble and nobody liked him because he was being a selfish ass who wanted to fulfill the Fire Lord's orders at all costs :'D so... as blind as Katara may be over anything to do with Kya, it baffles me that neither Sokka nor Aang would step up to tell Zuko that this sort of ridiculous reasoning, impulsive behavior and willingness to resort to violence is EXACTLY what made him an asshole during the months he chased them, and that changing sides without changing those violent impulses doesn't amount to jackshit. I'd honestly prefer it if Katara were the one to tell him as much, because then she'd have the bonus of telling Zuko: "That's funny, because this sort of BS is precisely why I can't trust you!" and Zuko would be at an even bigger loss than before :'D but of course, when emotions are involved, Katara loses sight of reality and common sense, it's true...

Looking at it the way you do, just imagine if Yon Rha had told Katara "Oh. Sorry. Nice to see you again!" the way Zuko does with Suki :'D I'm pretty sure she would've actually killed the guy without even hesitating.

It's not to say that Zuko has objectively murdered anyone with the particular cruelty Yon Rha killed Kya: as far as we know, he didn't. We do know, however, that he's imprisoned people in nightmarish conditions (something even his sister cannot be said to have done), as he does in LOK, conditions bad enough that one of those prisoners (who, arguably, wasn't in the worst of conditions) said he'd rather die than return to that imprisonment. So, however "deserved" the Red Lotus's imprisonment might have been, dehydrating a waterbender and freezing a firebender for well over a decade sounds like one hell of an act of cruelty, which says he's perfectly capable of cruelty, all the same as Yon Rha was, and Zuko can't even say he's following someone's orders: he's the one who chooses to do this, plain and simple. So cruelty is NOT beyond Zuko. He can be harsh and nasty whenever it suits him. Despite what he'd have the audience believe, he isn't truly the poster child of peace and kindness :')

As you've said, Zuko caused lots of damage with his careless actions back in Book 1, actions that could have certainly cost lives if this show had been written to be grittier and darker than it was.

As a careless, casual example, here's the typical, boring old trope of "there's a kid in danger and the hero swoops in to save them!" (and there's poor Sokka on the background too ;_;). That ship just comes into shore, breaks all the ice it cares to, and it could have cost at least the two lives of those in the scene here (and who knows how many more that we aren't seeing). Is this not the same as attacking someone deliberately, with killer intent? Sure, it's not, but the ultimate outcome would be the same: someone's died, and it's your fault. And if you're a good person, you would feel bad about it. In fact, you might not even be able to think of yourself as a good person if anyone's death can be pinned on you.

Again, we don't know for sure that his actions cost any lives, but that they could have speaks for itself. That he was once part of the Fire Nation killer machine, that he was a tool to his father (even if not one he particularly cared for), should have made him all the more willing to understand that soldiers are as brainwashed as he was. No, this isn't to defend Yon Rha by any means, he was indeed a piece of shit... but Zuko doesn't even wait to meet him to confirm this. He's ready to help Katara kill a guy who, for all he knows, could have spent his whole life repenting for his actions (yes, we know that's not the case, but if the show had wanted to give us more nuance in the Fire Nation army, it could have been). Zuko doesn't even hesitate, and he even eggs on Katara until she finally decides she's not going to do it -- then he proceeds to badger Aang non-stop about how he MUST kill Ozai, funny how that goes. Which allows the interpretation that Zuko didn't learn anything at all from the Southern Raiders adventure.

In the end, if Zuko's actions cost any lives whatsoever (like, I don't know, maybe lives of the people whose food he stole in the Earth Kingdom (: what, me still being salty about this in the year of 2021? Noooo waaaaay...), you're quite right to say that it'd be fine, as far as his own philosophies are concerned, for Zuko to be executed by the injured party. It'd only be fair, right? Yet I guess that's the beauty of Zuko being Zuko: fairness isn't part of it. Justice? I don't think he's actually familiar with the concept. His sister made lots of mistakes, same as he did, but has he attempted to help her find her way, same as he was helped? Has he given her another chance? The answer is nope. Chit Sang is a convicted murderer who claims he didn't do the crime he was put in jail for: Zuko doesn't even bother asking any questions about who he is, or trying to get to the bottom of this problem. He's fine with getting the guy out of prison without first confirming whether his story checks out or not. Even back in The Blue Spirit, when he was "under" Ozai's thumb, and Ozai's priorities should have been his own, he decides that it's more important for him to capture Aang himself, and somehow the show spins that situation into "hey, Zuko's not that bad :>" when... everyone knows he's not setting him free out of any selflessness on his part, in fact, it's the entire opposite.

So yeah, more sketchy Zuko things that remain unresolved, unaddressed and go ignored all the time. Again, things that don't make much sense with the character he's supposed to be. And as usual, it's stuff we're supposed to shrug off or make a thousand excuses for in order to always find a way to see Zuko as a perfectly good person, when, as I've said before, being good takes efforts Zuko often didn't bother making, not before his "change of heart", not afterwards either.

Tbh I don't think Kleypas's books are that dark or complex? More that the Bridgerton books are honestly on the fluffier side of HR. Kleypas reads as a more refined, better version of what Quinn was doing with Bridgerton. I'm specifically thinking of the Wallflowers here but this could apply to her other books too (Dreaming of You is in a category of it's own though)

Idk I will never understand the choice of Bridgerton for Shondaland. Especially when they have added a lot stuff to the show to make it more exciting and sexed it up....when they could have picked a series that already had all of that.

Eh, I beg to respectfully differ on Kleypas. Her more recent books have been of a lighter vein (the Ravenels) but even then I would say that they tend to have a darker tone than a lot of what JQ writes, with of course exceptions (WHWW deals with some heavy subject matter). They may not be dark books, but even the fact that she tends to pull her third act villainous attempted murder is darker than what JQ tries.

They really do not have much in common with each other at all, and I don’t think JQ is doing a fluffier version of what Kleypas is doing. JQ’s books focus a lot more on humor, for one thing… but she also writes more traditional ballroom historicals—the characters (or, especially the hero in most cases) is titled, much of the conflict surrounds finding a proper match in the social season or society in general. Kleypas has written waaaaay more working class heroes; she was one of the authors to popularize them. While she does certainly writing lords and ladies, off the top of my head Derek Craven, Simon Hunt, Matthew Swift, Cam Rohan, Rhys Winterborne, Tom Severin, and Kev Merripen are all working class, if self made and successful. This allows her to dip into less refined settings more often; Craven’s and Jenner’s are two of her more famous backgrounds, of course. But you’ve also got things like Harry Rutledge’s hotel, Winterborne’s department store…. I think Kleypas is very fascinated by heroes that make something of themselves. Even her aristocrats often have to go get their hands dirty, like of course Sebastian St. Vincent but also West Ravenel.

To me, they’re both focused on fantasies…. But Kleypas, if I were to guess, is more interested in the grittier side of life and Beauty and the Beast (transforming a man who seems bad or rough is biiiig in her books) whereas JQ obviously loves Cinderella (not just in AOFAG but in the sort of repetition of she was beautiful all along, girl in need of money or love is swept off her feet by the dashing lord). I do think Kleypas is a better writer, but it’s also a matter of these core stories having different outcomes… One is about, I think, the ultimate elevation and winning through marriage (Cinderella) whereas another is about the emotional triumph of overcoming your “beastliness” (damage) to find love. I can think of one Kleypas book where the ending famously involved the hero’s empire literally on fire but the win is that he finally is able to tell the heroine he loves her.

And just on a practical level—Quinn can walk on the wild side, of course. But like…. Derek Craven of Kleypas’s Dreaming of You was born in the literal gutter and prostituted himself to stay alive as a young man. Sebastian St. Vincent literally kidnapped his eventual heroine’s best friend. Harry Rutledge basically tricks his heroine into being forced to marry him…. In Worth Any Price, the hero was once imprisoned for years after losing his fortune. In Secrets of Summer Night, Annabelle’s mother has to resort to sex work to keep a roof over her family’s head, even though they’re apparently genteel.

There are definitely darker historicals out there, but I think there’s a decent sized gap between their interests as writers and where JQ isinterested in going and where LK is interesting in going. Even the Wallflowers, which may read more ballroom initially, are much plottier and have those issues like Annabelle’s, Evie’s horrible family, Sebastian’s… everything, Matthew’s background.

I get why Shondaland chose Bridgerton. It was more of a blank canvas, you know? The books sold a lot and they weren’t super complicated and it would be easy to sell. I also think The Wallflowers would’ve been easier to sell, but to be fair I don’t know that Kleypas hasn’t been approached and turned it down for some reason. I do think that in a lot of ways adaptations are somewhat easier when there’s less going on…. But I don’t think there’s *so* much going on in The Wallflowers that it couldn’t have been done.

To be fair, Shouto Todoroki hadn't even known what Instagram, or any other social media platform even was besides Facebook.

When he was first introduced to Instagram, the account made for him by his friends, he had instantly gained 1 million followers almost overnight. (He says it's only because of his father, but c'mon, ladies, he's just that hot)

The account posts page is filled with tagged, sneaky pictures from his friends, all of them adorable, pictures of soba, his mother (totally appreciation posts for Mamaroki) Fuyumi and Natsuo

But, one follower of his in particular caught his herochromatic eyes.... Y/N L/N. They had liked every one of his posts since day one, always leaving a friendly "hello" in the comments or leaving a comment about how wonderful his family seemed to be. If only Shouto knew just how whipped he was about to be....

The specific post that started it all popped up in his feed one fateful day was a picture of you that had been taken at the perfect moment. Your h/c floated in the breeze, your e/c shut as you were caught in an open mouthed laugh, Shouto finding your smile to be not only infectious, but bewitching. Yet, he yearned to hear what your laugh sounded like.

Before he knew what the hell he was even doing, he had -How would his friends put it?- slid into your dms, saying hello.

Since you lived in America (and were a light sleeper on top of being a slight insomniac), you weren't expecting a dm before the sun could wake up, so the minute your phone went off with a notification, you nearly fell out of bed due to the earbuds in your ears... That notification was LOUD!

When you looked at the message, it was from DamnIcyHot (that username was all Bakugo) and read: Hello, I'm Shouto. You looked beautiful in your recent post, and I thought you deserved to hear that. I hope you have a wonderful day

You blushed and that dm... Well, let's just say it wasn't the last.

Just two months after talking to you, Shoto asked you out.... On a video call, dressed in a tux with a red tie, and holding a half white and half red rose. (Pic above, folks)

Poor baby is so nervous, he's shifting and fixing his tie every few seconds and it's all you can do not to start squealing.

Y/N... I never thought it was possible to fall in love with someone I have yet to meet in real life, but, I have. I've fallen hard for you, Y/N. You had blushed and hidden behind your hands, a sight that Shouto still remembers as the cutest thing you've ever done, and nodded in response. If you had dared looked up, you would have seen the relieved look on his face as a laugh, a genuine laugh of relief, spills from his lips.

And that was only the beginning...

It only took a couple days before his friends noticed that their herochromatic eyed friend was acting a bit... Stranger than usual.

He was grumpier on certain days, happily smiling down at his phone, excusing himself to go to his room for hours on end.

Nobody knew what was going on, or why he was on his phone so much.

Kaminari had suggested spying on Todoroki, but Izuku had gone with a more... Direct approach.

When asked why he was on his phone so much, Todoroki had just blinked and said matter of factily, I have an S/O. The whole class, except for Yamomo, is shocked by this. This one of those, "I thought it was obvious" moments for Yamomo.

Speaking of Yamomo, she asks who the lucky person is. Instead of answering her, Shouto shows her the screenshot he unashamedly took of you.

In the screenshot, you're sporting a bright smile, e/c eyes filled with adoration and love, the look you had given him before calling him your Peppermint Baby for the first time, that baby boi was soooooo flustered by it. (What? He couldn't help it, it was too cute of a moment to let pass). The girls instantly squeal and ship you two together while some of the boys (*cough, cough* Kaminari and Mineta *cough*) are wondering how the hell you guys had even gotten together.

That same night, he called you and told you about the day's events, which honestly had you in fits of laughter.

Shortly after that, you were informed that you were being moved to Japan. Were you excited? Yes! You get to meet your boyfriend face to face for the first time, you were nervous and excited at the same time.

Did you tell him? Nope. You were waaaaay too giddy with the thought of how surprised he would be to see you.

Since you were being moved to Japan, that meant being transferred into U.A. High. Your Class being 1-A.

Shouto was talking to his friend group when you arrived, and thankfully for you, his back was to the door.

A green haired boy was the first to see you, his green eyes going a little wide while his friends were unawares, discussing who the new student could be.

Just as he opened his mouth to say something, you quickly put your finger to your lips, silencing him.

Thankfully, the Broccoli Boi gets the hint and schools his features before his friends can notice.

You quietly tip toed until you were directly behind him.

Covering a giggle, you covered his herochromatic eyes with your hands.

The second his eyes were covered, he jumped

Just as he was about to react, he read an all too familiar voice. "Hiya, Peppermint." It couldn't be....

Hands trembling slightly, he gingerly took hold of your hands and turned around, surprised to see a pair of e/c eyes looking back at him. "Y-Y/N?" You were so much more goregous in person....

"Surprise!" You giggled before you felt his arms wrapped tightly around you, a laugh leaving you as your feet left the ground as he picked you up, slightly spinning you before setting you down.

"Is this the girl you were telling us about, Todoroki?" A girl with big brown eyes and floating brown hair asked. The excitement in Shouto's eyes was evident as he finally turned to his friends, realizing you from his hug but still keeping his arm wrapped around you.

"Ururaka, Iida, Midoriya, this is my s/o, Y/N. Y/N, meet my friends Midoriya, Ururaka, and Iida." Shouto introduced you to his friends first. Iida's loud greeting captured the attention of your fellow classmates, and pretty soon, you were surrounded by a bunch of new friends.

It took a while for the excitement to die down, but when it finally did and Shouto finally got you alone, you suddenly found his lips on yours. Your first official kiss with Todoroki... Scratch that, your first one ever.

You found out that day that the Peppermint nickname you had given him... It was well deserved. That boy's lips tasted like sweet peppermint, and his kiss had been so gentle but passionate at the same time, it had taken your breath away.

Let's just say you guys shared a lot of firsts after that..... ;)

When you did, you saw him. Big red wings, amber eyes, messy blond hair and all. You watched him as he gracefully glided to you despite his nervousness.

The look in his amber eyes was so soft, a look of pure, unadulterated adoration and love for you clear as day. He immediately wrapped his arms around you

"I'm so sorry I kept you waiting, princess... Forgive me?"

You answered by kissing him, threading your fingers through his soft blond hair as he held you close to him, his wings wrapping around you too. When the two of you pulled away, a goofy grin was smiled before the first of many dates at that cafè took place

13. How many siblings does your OC and what is his/her relationship with them?

So, the only OCs that have a sibling are Fane and Mhairi. Fane is Mhairi’s brother and Mhairi is Fane’s sister. Fun fact: orginally these two were supposed to be twins when I made them because they looked very similar (Fane had platinum blonde hair like Mhairi and their overall faces had like features). Now, they’re three years apart (Fane is 24 and Mhairi is 21). 

As to their relationship, it is 100% wholesome and devotion incarnate. Everything Fane does and has done is for Mhairi, and he takes the role of both a father and a brother for her. It’s one of the few times Fane is actually soft with another person. Mhairi is his whole world until Inquisition, and it makes everything later one even harder for him. *side eyes* Mhairi is in the same boat as Fane because she is highly obsessed with showing him that she can handler herself and that he doesn’t have to keep running himself into the ground to keep her safe and happy. She constantly bakes him his favorite treats, gifts him with raw materials for his weapon crafting, crafts him articles of clothing and trinkets to elicit a single smile to his face. Mhairi just wants him to be happy above all else since she can tell something changed him, but she doesn’t know what. As such, she does become a tad jealous when Fane and Solas’s relationship comes to light, but only because she’s just as protective with him as Fane is with her.

19. What does your OC think of children- either in general or about having them?

I wrote a fic about this actually! It was told from Solas’s POV, but it gave glimpse into how Fane responds to children. Fane adores children and he secretly craves a small family--just one child because he wants to give the love his mother had given him. Gentle, calm, and patient. He just thinks he doesn’t have it in him for that, especially because of what he is. (hint: watch for fics that have the appearance of the baby dragon that Solas and Fane adopt. It’ll be important waaaaay later. *winks*)

Estoria is along the same lines as Fane. She loves, loves, loves children. When she was traveling as a mercenary, the band would occasionally visit smaller cities where there were alienages and Estoria would spend her free time there. She would sing songs to the children, teach them how to do menial, but important tasks like washing clothes or planting crops, and would tell them stories of her time on the road. Deep down inside, she would adore a little girl of her own because she wants desperately to be a mother. 

24. Who are the people your OC dislikes/hates?

So, surprise! Fane doesn’t actually ‘hate’ or ‘dislike’ anyone (other than his father lol). But if we’re talking in terms of the inner circle, again, he doesn’t hate anyone, he just feels indifferent towards them. The only one that he shows any kind of passionate distaste for is Cassandra, but most of that is from a lack of communication on both their parts in the beginning (Fane is not in a good mental state during Haven’s arc due to being framed divinity and the slow realization of what he is making him lash out violently). 

Mhairi though...eheheh. She doesn’t like Solas. At all. For a very long time. They butt heads constantly because of elven history, religion, and magical theory, but also because of Mhairi’s main insecurity of being abandoned. She’s worried Solas will take Fane from her and that frightens her beyond belief. *side eyes AGAIN*

 38. How does your OC react to and handle stress?

Reacting to stress, Fane either becomes incredibly overwhelmed and irate, or he shuts down completely. He turns into a shell that simply walks through the halls with a dead stare, or he becomes the warped version of what he is--breaking, smashing, and snapping anything in his path. When that happens, in either form, Fane hides away in the more desolate parts of Skyhold where no one can find him (other than Solas or Cole). He’s like a cat, actually. He can see everyone else, but they can’t see him. He’ll do that until he calms down enough to where he isn’t overcome wit the urge to snarl or crack open a noble’s skull.

39. How does your OC handle anger?

Badly. Well, Fane does anyways. Pffft. Mhairi tends to cry when she’s angry, so also badly. Estoria...ohhhh, boy. Watch the thorns because they are laced with poison. All my OCs handle anger badly. That probably says something about me, huh? *curls up in the corner* 

40. How does your OC handle grief?

Due to his abuse, Fane rarely cries--he was commanded not to for five years and the fear of doing it lingers. However, when he does cry it’s because of something utterly heart breaking. In fact, every time the group goes to fight a dragon, Fane scurries off at the end of the battle to literally crumble into a heap of snot and tears because it physically hurts him. It’ll be revealed more in my fic as to why, but just know it’s a..bad time. Again, Fane’s go to is to be alone with his emotions until they settle down. It’s a bad habit of his and one that takes a lot of support from Solas, Cyfrin and his sister to work out.

Mhairi is very open with her emotions (her and Fane anathema to each other). So, when their mother passed and their father disappeared, she was inconsolable for months and the feeling of abandonment lingers with her still. Usually, Mhairi just goes to Fane or Cyfrin if she’s feeling lonely or grief stricken and just...cry until she passes out.

43. What kind of sense of humor does your OC have?

Fane’s humor is morbid. Cyfrin and he get locked in discussions of dark, dark humor. Such as:

“If you don’t stop commenting about how my eyes will make a ‘lovely’ ballad, I will crack your skull and make a vase. I could use some bright macabre decoration in that dismal aravel, anyways.”

“Do I at least get to be painted in pretty floral patterns and intricate designs of trees? Maybe roses?”

“I’ll make the roses blue. Just for you.”

“Ah-ha! Now we’re talking! A man after my own fluttering, flying heart!”

“I’ll make your heart fly in a minute..”

“A confession?! I knew it would be a joyous day!”

“Just shut up, Cy.”

I’m serious. This is them and I have no shame. *laughs nervously* It’s all empty, though. Cyfrin helps Fane relax a little and never judges him for his darker aspects. If anything, it helps mitigate a potential outburst because Fane can look as it as a joke rather than something that genuinely hurts him. Unless he’s in a really foul mood, then Cyfrin adopts his more caring side to calm Fane down. (I have a lot of thoughts with these two. Just wait. Juuuust wait.)

45. What are some things that annoy your OC?

What doesn’t annoy Fane? 🤣🤣 But specifically, Fane can’t stand when someone is willingly ignorant nor can he stand when they’re filled with disgusting forms of pride.

Estoria is highly annoyed by racial labels. She was taken in by a human, and as such, she got to mingle with a lot of different races throughout her time as mercenary. She got to see those races as people and when organizations like the Chantry and what have you only see race and see it as a bad thing sometimes, she goes off the handle. Estoria doesn’t shy away from being an elf, but she doesn’t believe that’s all she is nor does she believe anyone else is just their physical race.

47. How easily does your OC forgive?

Fane is slow to forgive, even if that person is highly dear to him. However, it does depend on what happened in the first place and there’s a big, big plot point later on in my story that shows a heavily development in this characteristic. 

Estoria is an easy forgiver. She’s very openminded and realizes everyone has their struggles, but if it’s something truly deplorable with no other reason besides causing harm or death or gaining influence then that changes quickly.

64. What are some habits your OC has picked up?

Fane has picked up on a lot of habits due to how long he’s lived and what his nature entails. He has a habit of squeezing his arms if he’s agitated, crossing them in an attempt to steady himself, and growling. Fane growls constantly, even if he’s not irritated. It’s an involuntary reaction from being a dragon. 

He also has a habit of tracing patterns in wood with his eyes--pointing out shapes and faces. He also has a habit of..twisting the truth. *side eyes once AGAIN*

74. What is your OC’s favorite color?

Fane -- Blue (Don’t look at me like that.)

Estoria -- Grey (reminds her of her father’s eyes)

Mhairi -- White (she likes the symbolism of purity)

75. What is your OC’s favorite scent?

Fane -- Gladiolus

Stupid random theories, headcanons, and unpopular opinions of mine

Btw, these are all long so sit tight

My mangle theory :

I cant be the only one here who thinks that mangle was taken apart by little kids. It wouldn't make sense that little toddlers would be strong enough to pull apart a metal robot. That's because the kids didnt break her, william did. Mangle seems like he was an inspiration from funtime foxy because sister location happened before AND a lot of times, "toy foxy" is often referred to "funtime foxy". Due to this inspiration, mangle had the ability to record voices and things just like funtime foxy. Why am I pointing this out? Well, why would mangle randomly have static noises and a broken radio sound? It's her recorder, it's broken. He recorded many things and then recorded something that someone didnt want anyone to find out about. That someone would be William afton. William is always suspicious and doing evil things.Let's say that, oh idk, maybe William murdered someone, some person called the cops on him, (which explains the police messages n stuff in the radio) William killed that person and his the evidence of the murders. At least that's what he thought. Mangle was somehow recording the whole thing. William had no other choice but to take her apart and destroy him. But then William thought that it would to suspicious to have mangle be randomly broken the next day and so he fixed mangle up in way where it looks like shes fixed, but one tug hes broken and the kids are there to blame for. All of this might be a stretch I know, but apparently in one of the fnaf 2 minigames where theres a mangle Sprite, in the files or sources codes or WHATEVER IDK, there's a hidden message that says "he was here" or something like that. THAT CAN SUPPORT THIS THEORY errr headcanons? Idk I should go sleep lol

Micheal headcanon:

I always wanted to believe that Micheal was the older brother/Bully and that the bite victim was a different character. Why? Because I want more..character for Micheal. He went to sister location because he wants his torn apart family to be back together. He went to save Elizabeth and he never forgave himself for being the one to 'kill' his brother and all that failed. I wanted Michaels story to be exciting and emotional because of his past and the whole family thing

I also always liked to think that Micheal started working out to gain some strength before becoming a technician because he knows that the robots are strong and dangerous. That way things can be more action packed with Michael punching through pipes and walls, and holding back animatronics trying to grab him, and just...cool stuff

Fnaf headcanons:

Freddy has a nice deep voice and that's his real voice. When it comes to preforming during the day, he talks in his "family friendly" voice which is all goofy and fun (kinda like Patrick star's voice) The animatronics are a lot different on stage. It's as if they play as characters and they change their voices sometimes (like Freddy). Chica acts like this ditzy cute country gal, Bonnie is a laid back chill bon, foxy is just more ...pirate, and Freddy is a fun loving silly lead singer

Nightmarriones pupils change shape to Express his emotions. (Sad=tear drop pupils, sick=swirly pupils, angry=skull or fire pupils)

Lefty has his own voice instead of a whispery girly voice because he is his own character. He may look like the rockstars but he was made differently. The rockstars were built by some factory or company and they have advanced technology which gives em the ability to have emotions, personalities and to do tricks. Meanwhile lefty was built by henry in a shed or something. Henry only focused on programming him to find charlie and he had to make lefty look like the rockstars to blend in and not be suspicious. Other than that, lefty was a total rush job. Henry only wanted Charlie therefore, Henry didn't care to give lefty a personality, emotions, an EYE, or stablness.

In the afton family, the mother is sweet, kind, caring, and over protective while william is outgoing, silly, and isnt afraid to do anything (before he went insane). Usually kids have similar personalities to their parents soooo I like to think that Micheal is more like his mom but looks like his dad and that Elizabeth looks like her mom but acts like her dad. Why? Because I always saw Michael as a hero, he cares for others and he wants to save his family. He is sweet and protective like his mom. Elizabeth is rebellious and sassy. In the sister location mini cutscene with William and Elizabeth, she disobeys william to see baby and that's a rebellious move. Elizabeth likes adventure and crazy things so she wont follow the rules any time soon.

Funtime chica does all the rockstar's make up. When months pass by, the rockstar's paint would peel or chip and so ft. Chica would repaint their lipsticks, eye shadows, cheeks, etc. And they look fresh and new afterwards

Even though puppet and Goldie (and all the other animatronics) have been through so much shiz, they still try to keep their cool and enjoy life

In the rockstar crew r. Bonnie is the creepiest. Yeah, he seems chill and is self centered, he is the only rockstar who is most likely to murder someone if he's told to do so (this isn't counting ucn where they all kill). All on Bonnie's songs are so creepy and he sings about killing you in unique ways. Stuff like making slivers (or slippers) out of you, flaying your flesh, smashing your face into concrete, ending your life, and stabbing your heart with his guitar. He's definitely into gory stuff

Springtrap has two different personalities. Most of the time he's himself, spring bonnie. A kind fun loving bun who completely changed his personality after becoming springtrap. He is know constantly scared, upset, and afraid of Williams next move. He hates being an evil monster but it's not something he can control due to William still having control over him. When the slringbonnie side of springtrap gets mad or upset that's when hes weak and William takes control and becomes the evil side of springtrap. Springtrap is very aggressive and very strong. Slringbonnie tries to fight back Williams spirit, but as time went on and when the kids got sent free, spring bonnie got lonely and gave up which let William take full control over him. Sprjngbonnie is gone, its William now (which explains scraptrap)

Idk if this is a theory or headcanon but fnaf 1 bonnie is blue. Yes, he is known to be purple and everyone says and draws him purple but he's blue. Maybe it's the certain blue color he is but due to lightning it makes him look very purple. When he's in more darker areas, bonnie is very blue but when he's in the light areas, hes purple. Let's not forget how every single version on bonnie is blue (except for extras like spring springbon and bonnet etc.) Exept for fnaf 1 bonnie. That doesn't make sense if one of the originals would be purple but all the other versions are blue. One more thing, in the silver eyes, they mention that bonnie has blue fur ;) this was a dumb rant sorry

Shadow bon is evil and can shape shift cause hes a goopy shadow boy and shadow fred is his lil assistant

After fazbears fright burned down, William got to take control over springbonnie(trap) and roamed the streets at night. He roamed dark allies and probably killed whoever slighted him. It was a long walk but he was just trying to get to his destination, fred bears diner. Because of the fires, the springtrap suit was more ruined and unsturdy and so it was time for a change. Somehow William got out of the suit but he's weak without one so he picked an old spring bonnie suit, scraptrap. (According to the fnaf minigames there are multiple spring bonnie suits so that why spring trap looks different)

I got more headcanons but this post is already to long :p

My Unpopular opinions:

Am I the only one here who's not way into the whole Michael AI theory?? Like it kinda makes sense but at the same time, making a whole new robot son with advanced technology IN THE 80s does not give the fnaf-y feel?? Ya know what I mean? Like it doesn't fit the theme? Also the ai thing is in the books and the books are a different universe from the games sooo idk why matpat still connected them?? Hsjsbsjsjsn fnaf is just waaaaay to confusing. Also please dont get mad at me for this opinion cause matpats ai thing is just a theory, its not canon

Foxy isnt super great. Dont get me wrong, I love foxy and he's an amazing character but I don't get why he got so much attention and hype

Bonnet and lolbit should just be canon already. They're not canon characters but they're included in sooo many things in fnaf so might as well make em canon

Funko needs to make a fnaf 2 figure set where you collect t.chica,t.bonnie,t.freddy, puppet, one of the withereds or shadows and you collect them all to make a mangled mangle figure. I would DIE for a fully formed noodle fox figure, how cool would that be?

anyways i have A Lot Of Feelings about the mystic skins so i’ll break down my thoughts under the cut:

1. mystic nu wa

pros

the abilities are a lil boring but what hi-rezo does with them is great and i love the wings when she uses her ult (so cute!!).

the model is absolutely gorgeous, nu wa has got a flawless base and what hi-rez have done w/ the skin is so nice. i love the lil animation on her dress as well and the colour scheme is easily the best out of all the mystic girlies

i’m not 100% on nu wa’s voice pack but the va does a really good job, she’s super cute and i’d literally die for her omg. an anon on the confession blog reminded me about that directed voice line towards erlang shen and when erlang shen does get a mystic skin i might consider joining the mystic nu wa X mystic erlang shen ship

(also i’m kinda biased bc i own this skin and i’ve gotten excellent games w/ her asdkfljdslkjikljlkljkl)

i have no idea who the fuck chose goddamn mystic perfume bottles for her different elemental powers but it’s such a weird decision. still pissed that hi-rezo didn’t go with the obvious choice of having her wield elemental stars like…… :////

what always annoys me is the lil flap things under her dress, the skin would look so much better if they were on top of her dress or if they were just removed ENTIRELY… it’s like daji w/ her tails, there’s too many things going on and it’s really distracting

also this is a major complaint for every mystic skin but the hair colours are just waaaaay too much, i know they’re meant to be colour coded but holy shit would these girls look much better w/ darker hair. i’d kill for a brunette mystic nu wa

final rating: 9/10, nu wa setting the standard for everyone to aspire to once again

2. mystic artemis

pros

another really good model (although the shortness of the dress is… questionable), tusky is also p cute. i really love the heart arrows, that’s a cute lil touch

artemis ability-wise doesn’t have much to work with but the skin is still p cute, her 3 is unexpectedly good?? her animations are also really nice

voice pack is golden, artemis is always super shady and has some of the best lines out of the mystic crew + the voice actresses delivery is flawless

her HAIRRRRRRRRRR!!! CAN WE GET ANOTHER COLOUR???? same with the outfit, kinda would’ve liked to see a darker red like sailor mars but w/e.

just in general it’s kinda boring bc artemis’ design and abilities aren’t super flashy, most of the skin is really quality but she just doesn’t have the same flashiness that someone like nu wa has lol

final rating: 8/10, a lot of the quality owes to the fact that she was in a major bundle but it’s still a choice skin and easily one of the better mystic skins

3. mystic athena

pros

love love love her leader personality!! it’s really nice that athena of all the goddesses got a mystic skin as she’s a perfect representation of what i wanted in the mystic set of skins aaaah

abilities are super cute, gives some much needed colour to athena’s fighting tbh. the ult really stands out and the taunt is nice as well

the model is p good, it somewhat manages to fix athena’s unfortunate face and it gives her boots instead of high heels!! thank the lord!!!. also it’s good to see athena in a nice looking outfit for once, most of her other ones are weirdly sexy??? even her base has the stupid slit on her dress lmao.

her lines are also really good. perfect and super fitting voice as well

hair? hair. it’s just. a lot. i just want her to have black hair man :(

final rating: 8/10, only just below artemis due to her sister’s superior model. athena’s mystic skin is still really amazing (it was the first one i got as well hehe) and she fits very nicely into the role of team leader :’)

neith tried, a trendsetter as always. she died so that we could get more mystic skins

her voice sucks holy shit, the snorting is just…. ewwwww. i feel like the vp is kinda a mockery of the whole magical girl deal tbh

i have no idea what the outfit is? why’s it so plain? why is her hair that colour? what were the colours meant to be? she has wayyy too many colours there; just stick to a few in the same range omg

HER EYES ARE ALSO TERRIBLE ASLJFDLSAKJLKJKLKJLK, THEY’RE SO BIG FOR ABSOLUTELY NO GODDAMN REASON AND IT LOOKS SO WEIRD

every time you select the skin this terrible animation of her suspended in mid air and posing plays for half a second and then she goes instantly down. all i want her to do just just stay suspended for a lil while longer but her doesn’t and it annoys me so much asdklfjadsjkljljlkl

final rating: 6/10, i love you neith but we both know that this isn’t one of your better skins. neith, the flawless skin queen that she is, deserves a re-do of her mystic skin so that she fits in with the rest better

Review: The Dragon Prince Season 2 [Spoilers]

Season 2 is so much better than season 1 and yet still has ways to go.

I’ve just finished watching season 2 and that was such a better, smoother ride than season 1, which felt clumsy, unfunny and unmemorable. I honestly had zero expectations and didn’t even intend to watch season 2. But I’m glad I did. It was damn fun.

It’s almost too tempting to compare TDP with A:TLA or even LoK, but if I do this, than the standards are waaaaay above the narrative quality that’s been given to us on TDP, so I’ll try and refrain to do this as much as possible, and instead talk about this show as a solo piece (although I’m pretty sure Callum is the first Avatar of TDP universe, but nevermind that -- ruling over certain elements is a dead old trope in Fantasy writing and nothing special to A:TLA).

Aside from the dad jokes that are repeated throughout the season -- and some “shout out” jokes that completely break my suspension of disbelief (see “one does not simply walk into Xadia”) -- this season was much stronger comedy-wise. I actually laughed out loud at some parts. The narrative is finally weaving itself into more meaning than just “look at this group of misfits in an adventure!”.

The characters are more rounded and less cookie-cuttered, with Callum being the one that literally grew a personality since season 1. Rayla still has ways to go, she has been left to the side on this season, which bothers me a little. We’ve had two seasons of TDP already and I still feel like she is barely more than your generic elf companion on an adventure, guiding the main characters somewhere, with some comedy slapped into her. I need a lot more from a character than comedy and badassery, tbh. Ezran got the most growth, I guess, even though Callum is the “magical boy” on this show. The now young king was the most consistent character since the beginning, and he remains so.

As for our anti-heroes (and not necessarily villains), Claudia and Soren, it’s... okay, I guess? I feel like the writers are trying to make a point here, much like with Zuko, but it’s not coming across very... elegantly, or even convincingly. I honestly still haven’t made up my mind about those two. I still can’t quite put my finger on what’s wrong with their character arc yet.

There was a lot more worldbuilding this season. I always wondered why TDP felt so bland and forgettable to me, and I think a huge part of this feeling stems from the fact that the creators chose a medieval European setting for this story with absolutely all of its old ass tropes (I believe the only thing missing are dwarves) and it’s pretty hard to have an original, interesting take on this. Combine this setting with some queasy writing, and you have TDP season 1.

I can’t talk with a lot of property about the “backstage” of TDP -- I wouldn’t even say that I’m a “casual fan”, I wasn’t a fan at all up until maybe S2E3, when it dawned on me that wait, they actually had a mission to accomplish that I felt invested in!

I’m still getting used to the graphics. But not gonna lie, elves look GORGEOUS, especially the new villain/Evil Queen Mirror Stand In/prisoner of some lost war/Space elf with his absolutely stunning visuals. The dragons were also beautiful. Aesthetically speaking, this season was also more pleasing than its predecessor.

I still miss depth. Even though, aesthetically speaking, this show is “darker” than other animated shows out there targeted for the same age group, I feel like the storyline and the messages are very... basic. Or at least, they’re delivered in a very straight-forward, basic form. They still over-explain things. They still tell, don’t show. They don’t trust the audience to make simple deductions without having a character blatantly explain it to us, and that was painfully evident it the last couple of episodes.

Having said all of that, I still enjoyed it. Maybe I’ll rewatch it to have a second perspective on it. I didn’t know I would end up writing this little review, it was never my intention (hell, I didn’t even intend to watch it!), but here we are.

I really, really hope that as the series progresses, it will also improve in narrative quality. Season 1 was like a 4 out of 10 for me, honestly. This season is a solid 7. I hope season 3 becomes a 9!

Lair review for Lallie on FR! :D Under the cut!

I always start with the first dragon in people’s lair, and yours is so lovely!!! A pure gen 2 imp with lovely matching colors and that perfect looking opal? What a perfect looking dragon to put at the front of your lair!! And hoooo that accent match on the opal?? I don’t have any imps, let alone any imps with opal, and that accent matches his opal so nicely that I almost thought that there was waaaaay more opal on his wings that there actually is haha, it’s just a lovely effect. I love the crimson silks on him, plus that lil different fillet! I saw someone else do that the other day and made a comment about “why don’t people do it more?” and I’m asking that even more with his lovely layering- It’s sucha  look (tm) The bits of pink from the twilight sylvan stuff also match his accent so nicely- this guy’s outfit is just so coherent and i adore it ahhh. His bio has some mystery acronyms in it, but I also see that he welcomes people to your clan in his quote box- if he your clan leader? What a great and fancy leader!!

Next is Felurian!! I can’t resist fancy pastely skydancers ahhhh. She’s so stunning... that orca iridescent is to die for. Gloom butterfly is so pretty too! becuase of her accent at a glance she seems kinda pastelly but her colors are much darker, huh? Are you ever planning on giving her a tert? all of her colors look so nice together, I bet she’d rock lace or something. Oh, and I see that you gened her up yourself in her bio! Dang, what a spoiled girl, given two gem genes from before having bar and daub. Her colors look great with those genes though, I’m guessing she was a long term project? She was well worth the gems and the wait though, she’s just stunning. I also love that spassow accent too, and it gives her a lovely splash of color on her mainly monochromatic scheme. I love the silk layering, too- the night sky with the gossamer under it matches orca so well it’s almost unbelievable! The slight hints of white are just. perfect. She looks like some kind of stunning mage, or something :0 Especially with those big antlers, they make her look almost otherworldly!! And gorgeous, can’t forget gorgeous.

Mythal next!! More night sky silks ahhhh. She’s so pretty too gosh, I love these fancy ladies of yours! Midnight/Mist/Iris is a fantastic pastel space colorscheme, one that would look right at home in my lair haha. I love the combo of the night sky silks and the black tulip flowerfall, they look really good together!! But most of all, hooo that accent!! It matches her colors so nicely, and more importantly, it gives her so many lore possibilites! I see that she has a wishlist in her bio, and no lore, but that accent makes her also seem like an otherworldly witch or demon. She and your lovely Skydancer above would make a lovely pair, with their similare apparel and color schemes- are they dating? that’d be cute hehe, dark otherworldly witch gfs. I can’t help but wonder what she’s holding, too? I know it’s just part of the accent but ahh the lore possibilities are delectable and temping. Also, that ice sprite is a great looking fam- but not as great as she looks!

Mihael is up next!! I’m weak for lovely purples, what can I say? xp And dangggg I know people sometimes throw around the word “ethereal” but like... this is the deinition of Ethereal right here. You could tell me this handsome boy is an Angel or heck, even a God and I wouldn’t even bat an eye! Oh man, I remember seeing that accent drop- it’s so lovely, and if I had any male wildclaws I would have bought a copy in a heartbeat. But this accent looks like it could have been made for him- that washed out pastel purple of platinum matches the dusty colors of the accent so well, but it doesn’t overshadow it, either- the accent really pops on top of the platinum. He’s a beautiful XXY, and I love the cream runes on him... so soft. He’s got lovely apparel, too. Those pieces of Silver Sylvan stuff is so nice on him, and The desert Dynasty stuff always looks good with platinum- and with his accent. The dove is a lovely touch, and I like how it’s branch kind of bleeds into the Tickled Hyacinth, that looks great. I also love the gossamer silk pieces- they’re not over powering, and just transparent enough to let you see through part of the silk to still see that lovely accent and make him even more matchy- he’s perfect!

Next up is another lovely Wildclaw, Fenharel! Now that’s what I call a good plant boy. The gently irishim greens look lovely- I don’t even usually like Crocodile or Fern, I thought his secondary was Seafoam when I was looking at his mini picture haha. He is just ROCKING that fest accent, it matches his Maize runes so nicely, and brings out this feeling of a flowery fairy prince, or a spirit who lives in a lake of lillies, or something like that. He’s got some apparel that matches Mihael, but it works in such a different way on him, and I love it! The Dove and the few pieces of gossamer silks remind me more of nature and faries than the angels and heavens they suggested on Michael. I saw in his bio that you gened him up, as well- you’ve put a lot of money into this lovely lair, huh? It seems well worth it though, every dragon is just so elegant and lovely, some of them are similare, but there’s also a ton of variety! I also love the familiar match he has, it adds to his princely aura to me, the very fancy perfectly color matched vustal just seems royal, you know? What a love pair they are!

Next up i took a look at another wildclaw rocking another lovely, flowery fest accent- Shae! Her accent reminds me of his a lot, and the two’s aesthetics compliment each other really well haha. And I see we have more gossamer silks, so I’m guessing it’s an apparel staple of yours? A very good choice, if I do say so my self. They’re so elegant and versatile! Plus, they’re perfect for this gal, since they match the pieces of white in her accent so nicely. She’s also rocking that silver sylvan wing lattice, and Those lovely tail rings! I love the mix-and-match fillet again too, it works well with the colors of her accent. And ahh that accent matches her so perfectly~ The wing and tail gradient fade into the colors of her wings and body seemlessly, and the whites and greens stand out on her nicely! That lets you bring in other colors of apparel really well too, especially with all the whites and silvers. She’s a work of art~

Next up is Lyllyth! this is just a small thing but you really have lovely sounding and lovely looking names in your lair, I really like them! They’re all very coherent and are just. really nice. it’s not usually something I notcied when I’m doing a review but I just really dig it, is all! Anyways, Lyllyth is yet another beautiful Dark cool color with lovely pastel purple, and it’s so good!! It’s a look I’m really fond of, but that I don’t feel like I see a lot of. Another night sky silks+black tulip flowerfall combo, and I love it just as much this time! They look so good together, and they look so good on her! She’s more purple than the other night sky silk wearing dragons I’ve looked at in your lair who have been darker blue, and I really love how her purpleness makes the silks appear more purple themselves, too. I also love her accent- and it’s another spassow haha, no surprises there. Spassow makes the loviest (and most expensive) pastel accents, huh? And wow, you’ve got so many night sky silks, adn jsut gem apparel in general in your lair! I can’t help but be a bit healous and a lot impressed!! And ahh she’s so impressive too haha

Next up is Arcurion! Man, the colors iridescent brings into the mulberry on him match his sanguine secondary really nicely! Not to mention the color match on his accent- another perfect use of a fest accent here in your lair, what else would I expect after the other ones? The deep reds and purples are great, and then I love the bits of gilded gold it brings in too! This guy is almost like the embodiment of crimson silks, huh? All gorgeous dark reds and deep purples with the great hint of gold! I bet he’d rock some crimson silks haha. His current apparel is jsut great too, though! I love the dusky rose stuff on him, not only does it match him well, but it also gives him an even more gilded look- especially the lovely gloves and stockings. So fancy! He’s got those great cobwebs, too, very spirit-ey, and I love the sword and scars! A very regal warrior. Ohhh and he has some lore, too!! Super nice! ^^ Ohhh so he’s made himself some powerful spiritual enemies, huh? That’s dangerous, man. I like the explanation for (I’m assuming) exalted hatchlings in the clan? Either way, I hope he’s able to clean up this mess he caused soon. Is that who gave him the scars, the Unnamed ones? He needs that sword to protect himself. I love the sword choice, it looks great! 

Next, flopsy caught my eye!! A very handsome XYY! You’ve got soooo many lovely doubles, wow! He’s a super cute pastel warrior of a level 25 :D The steampunk sets don’t get a lot of love, but he’s wearing a full set of the gold steampunk stuff and I think he’s really rocking it! It makes him look like a crazy inventor of a level 25, or just a very eclectic warrior. Either way, I think it looks good with his primary (especially the lovely wings!) and contrasts his double rose nicely. I’m not usually huge on okapi, but I think it’s in nice places to make it clear that he’s a lovely double without being too covered up by all his apparel. especially the faux stockings the okapi gives him on his fat little coatl legs, and the nice neck part! You can’t really see them through his protective goggles, but I also really like the fac that he’s got those lovely matching arcane eyes! A great looking boy~

I can spot storm glimmer, my favorite look, from a mile away, so Neptune caught my eye once I spotted his lovely, shining horns! Is he a water rep (with wind eyes, lol) or just a lovely watery boy? Either way, he’s very handsome! I love the aforementioned storm glimmer, and the navy butterfly is quite lovely too~ Plus the lighter Aqua iridescent (which partially matches his eyes, almost?)  all look really nice together, and are really reminiscent of the twice-dyed mantle he’s rocking, I feel like? He’s got similar light and dark blues too it, and he looks great in it! I also love the deepsea bulb- now THATS an apparel that doesn’t get a lot of love if I ever saw one. Makes him seem like a deepsea dweller though, who’s surrounded himself in a camoflague of fish with only his bulb to guide him as he goes hunting with that big fancy spear of his- it’s quite a look, and I bet he’d rock some flatfins too ahah... so expensive, I know the feel. Is he a fisherman or aquatic hunter? That’d be super cool- or maybe someone who hunts with maren? Or hunts maren... the possibilities are endless!

Next up is Lyre!~ She’s covered in such lovely blues ahh. Another lovely double!! And she’s decked out in even more white apparel- the gossamer silks and the dove make their repeat appearances I see :p I love the mantle and wings on her, though! She looks so lovely in them, and all of these big sweeping white apparel work really well for her peacekeeper lore~ I love her matching eyes, too! And speaking of lore, her lore is really nice! I love the familiar being her traveling companion, companion tie-ins to lore are always so great! She’s a nomad in lore who settles down for shortish periods of time- is she a traveling dragon? I’ve never done one or had one, but they always seem so cool ahh, a ton of fun! I love her art, too, especially that crisp looking second headshot- it’s lovely! She looks serene, and it really emphasizes the lovely colors iridescent brings out in a sky primary on skydancers, the super soft purple is jsut to die for. And so is she!!

Last but certainly not least is another very fancy skydancer- Aveline!! Oh man, orca crystal is the nicest cry/face by a long shot, and she wears it so nicely!! She’s yet another lovely double, and the platinum spines match her orca colors so well! Orca cherub is also like... to die for, and I love the contrast in its swirly swooping patterns. Her arcane eyes stand out ever so slightly on her face, and since it’s the only real color she has on her, they’re very piercing, it looks just lovely! The pristine stuff is just perfect on her, accentuating the lovely whites in Orca and making her look oh so elegant! Plus, the Fairy vibe that the silver sylvan stuff gives her makes her into a super magical, super gorgeous musician.  What kind of music does she play? Magical music, or just for entertainment? Either way, I bet she does a great job!!

Gotham Binge-watch #1

My goal is to power through all 2 and a half seasons’ worth of episodes so that I can join in when s3 resumes in April. *fingers crossed* ;) So far, I’m up to season 1, ep 8. Here are a few of my jumbled thoughts. (I didn’t think about doing this until I’d already watched my way through the first 2 discs of the set so this will be just more like overall impressions of some of the characters and where they’re at at this point. There’s no, you know, deep meta or the like. I’ll hopefully be more organized in future posts! ;) )

SPOILERS, NATURALLY ;)

Selina

@kathemy warned me that there wasn’t very much Baby Batcat in s1 and that is definitely true, especially so far here in the first quarter of s1. It seems like Selina just sorta disappeared for a bunch of episodes there! O_O I was VERY glad to see her resurface in ep 8, even if just for a few scenes.

However, the fact that I started by knowing a whole bunch about current events means that I at least am content to know that we have a lot of Baby Batcat still to come! :D And what we’ve had of Selina so far has given us glimpses into both her sassiness and the heart that lies underneath it all. ;)

Barbara

One thing that’s REALLY surprised me so far is how sympathetic Barbara has started out. Because all I’ve heard and seen about her has been as a crazypants!villain, I honestly thought she’d start with that, even if she was pretending to be good while with Jim. Honestly, if I didn’t know that we’re not going there at all, I’d be shipping them pretty hard about now. (Not that I still might not do that anyway once I see where it all shakes out. My Inner Shipper makes no promises, lol! ;) ) I’m really curious now to see what all is going to happen in order to turn her from someone who seems to basically be a good person who really does love Jim into this...

Ed

ZOMG, I adore nerdy!Ed! ♥♥♥ I know we’re not going to have long with him before things start taking their darker turn so I’m determined to enjoy every second of him while I can! :D I just want to *squishy squish* him every time he starts to “riddle me this” (and I want to smack everybody who NEVER LETS HIM FINISH, C’MON, WOULD IT KILL YOU TO LET HIM TELL HIS RIDDLES AND APPRECIATE HIS CLEVERNESS FOR ONCE??? *squishes him* ;) ).

Full confession, though: I’ve seen enough clips and vids and such to know that I’ma like dark!Ed, too. I’m just appreciating this sweeter, dorkier version of him while he lasts. ;)

Harvey

Next full confession: I watched part of the Gotham pilot waaaaay back when it first aired and... I couldn’t stand Harvey. *blush* I thought he was going to be the total stereotypical “corrupt cop” and that was part of the reason why I just shut if off and never went back. I didn’t want to see something that was just going to be utterly bleak, with poor Jim as the only good cop in the entire city,* with his “partner” probably spearheading the fight against him. :(

(*Okay, that is all still actually pretty true, I know! ;) But just knowing that Jim does have Harvey on his side made a big difference to me going into this with fresh eyes. ;) )

My apologies, Harvey. Despite the fact that, well, he kinda IS a corrupt cop, lol, Harvey still has a heart. And we saw in ep 6 that he was once more the idealistic “white knight” sort, rushing into danger in order to try to save a life.

Life has pretty much beat the idealism out of Harvey by ep 1 until Jim’s inherent honor and goodness has started bringing it back to life again. And who could’ve guessed but Harvey is now one of my favorites! (I even have his action figure standing front and center on the other side of my keyboard right now, lol! ;) )

Oswald

I’ve posted about Oswald before but now that I’ve seen a few more eps and am not just going more from vids, clips and other posts, my original feelings have only intensified. I shouldn’t like him so much and yet I do! He just wants to be loved, he just wants to have friends, to have respect but he goes about it all wrong and he’s undeniably a bad guy at the core of it all but... I can’t help but feel for him.

ZOMG, just look at that bb in that GIF above. Look at those eyes, those microexpressions, just everything! I need to wrap a warm blanket around him and feed him freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and just *squish* all of the homicidal tendencies out of him!*

(*Note: Please remember that in real life you can’t *squish* the bad things out of people, no matter how much you might wish otherwise. Loving a fictional bad guy/gal and wanting redemption for them should never translate to trying to redeem a RL “bad” person and letting them abuse you in the process. Please stay safe out there! *hugs* [/Afterschool Special] ;) )

Alfred and Bruce

In all of the previous versions of Batman, we generally knew that Alfred took care of Bruce after his parents died but yet, when we see them after Bruce is grown up, I’ve never really gotten that feeling that Alfred pretty much raised him during some awfully formative years. I’ve felt there was love and a definite feeling of family between them but I haven’t really gotten the feeling that the guy that calls the grown man “Master Bruce” and helps him fight crime was also the one who had to get him through his tumultuous teenage years with no doubt a very firm hand, lol! ;)

What we’ve seen of their relationship so far has made me into a HUGE Alfred fangirl!
