What are you talking about, this IS the title.
Leonie takes Child!Byleth’s stuffed bird HC’s
Child!Byleth Professor AU
—-
- After a particularly long day of lectures, all Byleth wanted to do was go back to his room and sleep. However, he wasn’t able just yet. Hilda and Claude had just caused a disturbance that required his presence, so he was forced to leave his room and find out what was going on.
(Byleth) “I’m the younger one here, yet I’m somehow more mature than those two? Ugh…good grief.”
- He began speaking with Sothis in his head about how troublesome the Golden Deer were as a class and made his way to Seteth’s office.
- As he was walking, he didn’t notice that Leonie was watching.
(Leonie) “All right, now’s my chance!”
- She went into his room, in hopes of finding out more about the Professor. He seemed to be actively avoiding any topics of his own father, which was a crime she couldn’t begin to fathom.
- In reality, Byleth and Jeralt just didn’t speak all that much. Although he was his father, and he loved him very much, he viewed him more as his boss. As a Mercenary, no matter what, you respect your superiors. Of course, Leonie didn’t know that.
- She expected to find all scandalous details but…it was just empty, actually. There was barely any decorations or anything, just school stuff, a desk and a bed. Though, the oddest part was, there was a stuffed bird on his bed. It was the only thing out of place here.
- She shrugged and decided to take it. Maybe it could lead to something.
- Later that evening, Byleth walked into his room absolutely exhausted. He was grateful that it was Sunday tomorrow and was ready to get into bed. Though it was the dinner hour, he didn’t feel like eating. He switched into his night outfit and was prepared to grab his bird.
-…It wasn’t there.
(Byleth) “…Hmph. Must’ve dropped on the floor.”
- He casually looked under his bed…still nothing.
(Byleth) “…Sothis, can you help me find my bird?”
(Sothis) “Very well.”
- They both searched high and low, but found nothing.
- Byleth knew for a fact that the bird never left this room, and he ALWAYS left it on top of his bed at the start of everyday. There’s no way it went anywhere…unless…!
- Sothis saw the rage inside Byleth turn from zero to eleven, he began shaking with rage.
- SOMEONE STOLE HIS FAVORITE STUFFED BIRD.
- Byleth kicked open his door so violently that it scared the two knights that were passing by.
(Byleth) “Was there anyone who entered my room at all today?!”
(Knight) “W-Wha?! Uh, no, Professor!”
- He began dashing out of the dorms, and straight to where he could see any other students.
(Claude) “H-Hey, is that the professor?”
(Hilda) “Wow he’s REALLY coming at us fast…do you think he’s angry about-”
(Byleth) “DID ANY OF YOU TAKE MY BIRD?!”
- Hilda and Claude were completely caught off by his aggressiveness. When he had come in to lecture them about their prank, he didn’t even seem annoyed.
(Hilda) “Huh?! W-What bird?”
- Luckily, Claude knew what he was talking about. He only saw Byleth with his stuffed bird a few times, but he knew how important it was to him just by sight.
(Claude) “Uh…I don’t think so but…I think I heard from Ignatz that he saw Leonie carrying-”
- Claude wasn’t able to finish as he bolted past them and straight for the Dining Hall.
- As soon as he was in the entrance, he yelled so loudly that it completely overpowered all the students in the hall.
(Byleth) “WHERE’S IGNATZ?!”
- Literally everyone stopped what they were doing, hearing such an angry voice come out of the famously calm Tiny Professor. It took a moment for Ignatz to stand up in attention.
(Ignatz) “R-Right here sir!”
(Byleth) “LEONIE’S LOCATION! TELL ME!”
(Ignatz) “U-U-Uh…! I saw her going towards Jeralt’s office sir!”
- He started running towards the offices while everyone murmured to each other, staff and knights included.
(Raphael) “Dang, I’ve never seen him that steamed before!”
(Lorenz) “What on earth could’ve made him so angry?”
(Marianne) “I-It must be something serious…”
(Lysithea) “He said something about Leonie, right? What did she do?”
(Ignatz) “I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest! That was terrifying!”
….
- Jeralt face palmed, talking to Alois was making his brain cells slowly start to kill themselves. He was wishing something would break him out of this conversation of how his son was now Alois’s nephew.
(Leonie) “Excuse me, Jeralt?”
- When he said he wanted something, this was not what he wanted.
(Leonie) “Do you know what’s the deal with this bird?”
(Jeralt) “Bird? Leonie, do I look like a-”
(Alois) “Er…I don’t think that’s just any bird, Jeralt.”
(Jeralt) “Huh? What do you-”
- His eyes went wide upon seeing what she was holding.
- That was Byleth’s stuffed bird.
(Jeralt) “…Leonie, where did you get that?”
(Leonie) “O-Oh I uh…why does it matter?”
(Jeralt) “Because that’s my kid’s bird. The last time I saw it out of his hands is when a bandit was making fun of it.”
(Leonie) “It’s just a toy, right?”
(Jeralt) “Sure, but it’s something I gave to him. When that bandit was making the same comment, Byleth sliced his head clean off…It was an impressive slice, now that I recall…”
- Leonie now began sweating.
(Leonie) “I…I see.”
(Jeralt) “Wait a damn…did you sneak into his room?! Why the hell did you do that?!”
(Leonie) “W-Well, I wanted to find out more info on him and-”
(Jeralt) “You didn’t just ask the kid?!”
(Flayn’s Voice) “Oh, Byleth? Is something-”
(Byleth) “SORRY, BUT PLEASE MOVE, FLAYN!”
- Jeralt immediately shoved Leonie in front of him, and grabbed the bird, making it look like Jeralt had been holding it the entire time.
- Byleth basically slammed open the door to his office, looking ready to kill someone.
- It scared the hell out of Alois and Leonie, but Jeralt tried his hardest not to flinch.
(Jeralt) “Hey, kid? Looking for this?”
(Byleth) “DID LEONIE-”
(Jeralt) “Woah, hey there. She found it on the ground and it was dirtied up. She brought it to the knights not knowing who it belonged to. So, she eventually brought it to me, that’s all. What’s got you all riled up?”
- Byleth took a deep breath and shook his head. He went back to his signature blank face.
(Byleth) “Sorry. I thought she stole it.”
- He bowed at Leonie as a gesture of apology.
- Jeralt knelt down and gave the bird back to Byleth, which he began squeezing immediately.
(Byleth) “Thanks dad.”
- He then began calmly walking back to his room, Alois still in shock about what happened. Jeralt then turned to Leonie.
(Jeralt) “Listen, unless you WANT your head to be mounted on his wall, don’t EVER take that little bird!”
(Leonie) “Y-Yes sir…”
(Jeralt) “You’re going to be waking up bright and early for the training of your damn life for the rest of this month. Get outta here.”
- She awkwardly nodded and apologized, leaving the room. Jeralt sighed loudly.
- Once word spread about what happened on why Byleth went ballistic, they connected the dots and figured out it was the bird.
- Everyone, especially Leonie, learned something valuable.
- DO NOT TAKE BYLETH’S STUFFED BIRD.
- EVER.
