Saiyuki for the meme
for top three favorite characters, it'd have to be...
Cho Hakkai
Kougaiji
Zakuro (we love a cringefail illusionist)

this was genuinely difficult; i fucking love all the main ikkou, and our "merciful goddess" Kanzeon Bosatsu, and Sharak holy shit, and Yaone and Lirin, not to mention Gat and Hazel--and, unfortunately, Dr. Ni, Chin Yisou, and even the movie-exclusive Go Dougan...
but when it comes to favorites, it's really those three above all.
...
.....!!!!
WAIT. WAIT ACTUALLY. JEEP. JEEP IS THE BEST.

Dask01's Top 10 Summer 2017 Anime
I always liked making these, so here we go. I usually like to write little descriptions for each, but I'm lazy and don't have the time so I'll just summarize at the end. This is entirely based on personal tastes and has nothing to do with quality. I only count series that ended during the season and obviously I didn't factor in series I haven't watched (i.e. Kakegurui; CURSE YOU NETFLIX).
10. Classroom of the Elite
9. Made in Abyss
8. My Hero Academia S2
7. 18if
6. Gamers!
5. Tsuredure Children
4. Aho Girl
3. Saiyuki Reload Blast
2. Love and Lies
1. Vatican Miracle Examiner
In terms of quality, the best anime I watched was probably Made in Abyss, however, it's pretty low on my list due to my unfortunate condition of having shit tastes in anime. Vatican Miracle Examiner wasn't good objectively, but was easily my favorite of the season and will probably be one of the more memorable shows of the season along with 18if. Tsuredure Children and Aho Girl were both great comedies, though Aho Girl ended up resonating with me slightly more. My Hero Academia is really good for a shonen anime and season 2 was pretty awesome, again it's pretty low because I only like bad anime. :( Gamers was very entertaining, but probably something that won't leave a lasting impression. Love and Lies was my second favorite. I thought it was well done and really appealed to me in an emotional and romantic sense. If it were to have any flaw, I'd say the second half of the final episode was meh, but nothing that ruined the show for me. Saiyuki Reload Blast was great, but probably more so for those who have kept up with the series. And in last place, Classroom of the Elite. Basically it was pretty slow and kind of boring but just barely interesting enough to keep me watching despite unnecessary fan service and the fact all the characters besides the protagonist were just tropes. The protagonist really carried the show through though and the ending was pretty darn cool so it makes the top 10 just for that. Probably wouldn't recommend it unless it gets a season 2.
Overall the season was really consistent. No major disappointed, but no major surprises either. I pretty much liked everything about the same from beginning to end.
