okay but rwby descendants au 

1. the most important part of this au is that ghira and kali are king and queen and blake is THE princess. they’ve been doing a lot of work to try to further the faunus rights movement and not just for the super upper crust.

2. they’re not super keen on that “prison island” idea, but those kings over in atlas (jacques schnee and james ironwood) are hard to get on board for anything without excessive police presence. so. earmarks.

3. the schnee family is the picture perfect auradon family, except it’s. ya know. NOT. weiss left her home kingdom to study at the hunter academy in central auradon where the belladonas have direct rule and her father Is Not Happy. winter is of course off with james ironwood’s army in the kingdom down.

4. as a king, even though he’s not the high king like ghira belladona is, jacques schnee operates without much outside interference. everything is a human (cough faunus) rights violation. my point is that real villains aren’t necessarily locked up.

5. adam was born into relative privilege in the menagerie area and is a Major Fucking Douche. he’s never experienced personal prejudice but he assumes that the kids on the isle must be like, the worst. he’s just a douche though. not An Entire Murder Incel like in canon tho

6. blake wants to try to help the kids on the island, soon to be ex boyfriend adam is like No They Are Clearly CriminalsTM and blake’s like fuck that i’m helping people. and her parents are good people so they help her set up the program. 

she and adam aren’t broken up yet but they’re on very thin ice. she’s very close to dropping his ass

7. salem is the biggest bad on the island because of course she is. she sets up a team of four to use for her infiltration mission to Destroy Barrier And Get Off the Island. cinder, of course, and then her minions emerald and mercury. they try to get neo on board, but she’s not very interested and roman thinks it’s a stupid idea that will make them lose isle territory. so. they need a fourth.

8. enter yang branwen, daughter of raven branwen. the entire bandit clan sans qrow was banished there after the *hand waves* event that got people sent to the island, and raven was, unbeknownst to anyone, pregnant. yang is a wildfire of a girl and she’s not about to be told what to do... except for the opportunity to get out from under her clan’s thumb and do some exploring.

so yeah. she’ll sign up for salem’s suicide mission if she can get off the island probably run away before they get to the plan execution part.

9. ruby rose is a new student to the school and has only very recently met and befriended her new roommates PRINCESS blake and PRINCESS weiss. the titles make her a little starstruck for a bit but she quickly realizes that they’re just normal. weiss is kind of an asshole (but not totally) and blake isn’t very good at opening up to people because there are things that are Expected TM of her. like dating a boy of similar social status and not doing anything to shatter the progress that the faunus are making. 

10. ruby and weiss, as blake’s roommates, and budding new friends are invited to greet the new isle kids. cinder is sickeningly sweet, mercury is an asshole, emerald doesn’t talk, and yang....

“the name’s yang branwen” and ruby’s eyes pop out of her head as she looks her over.

“branwen?” she asks. yang narrows her eyes at her.

“yeah. branwen.” ruby looks at the way her nose swoops like ruby’s dad’s, the specific shade of blonde of her hair, and does a little mental math. then she screeches. and hugs her. and screeches some more.

“SISTERS!” yang’s eyes widen.

“what?” she asks. but it doesn’t matter that she’s confused- it’s the truth and ruby’s not letting her go. her family is going to FREAK OUT when they find out

there’s a fourth space in their room, so ruby quickly talks them into putting the rest of yang’s friends into a 4 person room (so they can have some room for themselves) and putting yang in as THEIR fourth so that they can get to know each other :)

11. the plot of descendants is pretty cookie cutter. there’s plotting to get the wand. there’s love potion (but i’m going to make it just yang saying You Could Do So Much Better Than That Guy) and blake going. yeah. you’re not wrong. and them awkwardly dancing around each other for a bit.

12. next movie weiss exposes the corruption inherent in the auradon system, the kids start a pen pal system to try to help auradon kids meet isle kids, robyn hill starts a revolution on the island to try to make things Better TM and the oldest daughter of house marigold decides that she’s going to go help her pen pals make the island suck less

13. then NEXT movie the barrier comes down and the happy huntresses stick around to make the isle nice, ironwood starts a war over it, and raven still doesn’t come home because. talking to your family? psh that’s not the raven branwen way.
