trigun modern AUs where writers try to give them "modern" jobs are so funny to me bc wolfwood meryl and milly already have jobs that exist in our world. wolfwood would still be a priest meryl and milly would still be insurance agents. vash would not work at a coffee shop or retail store or anything though vash would be an unemployed homeless drifter on the run from the FBI bc he's wanted in connection to his megalomaniacal doomsday cult leader twin brother

#i know when ppl write modern AUs theyre thinking more along the lines of 'hehe what if they went to college tg :3c'#but i think that that completely overlooks that some characters simply Would Not Go To College #its a little pet peeve of mine its juuuust ooc enough to drive me crazy #do you really think monkey d luffy would get a bachelors degree or work at starbucks?#are you honestly telling me you think luffy pays tuition #this has gone in a completely different direction this post was about trigun aldhaakg #do you really think vash would have a job??? in a modern AU he wouldnt even be able to get legitimate work bc he doesnt have a ssn #he'd get paid under the table for various odd jobs and tasks while on the run #idk sometimes i just see modern AUs and say 'you really think this character would have a JOB??'
