one topic i hate reading about that's world of warcraft-related is regarding unobtainable / limited-time items, cosmetics, events, mounts, pets, etc.

some people get VERY defensive over pixels, it's insane. but people also get very sensitive over pixels that are not obtainable anymore. two sides of the same coin-type situation.

I'm one of those people who hates unobtainable items, but i think it depends. like the scarab lord title and mount should never be obtainable again. but i also think the mage tower appearances should have never been removed. which sounds really silly i know, but it's not the same as scarab lord imo. scarab lord was meant to be obtainable by VERY few people compared to mage tower. mage tower was a challenge, scarab lord event was a special, once-a-server, hell, once-in-a-LIFETIME event. It'll never happen again. Not like that anyway.

but yeah it's pathetic when people foam at the mouth over old TCG items being given away for free with twitch drops or through the trading post (which isnt really free, it costs your time more than anything and to get trader's tender for the trading post you need to have an active subscription)

I think it's stupid that blizzard treats the Spectral Tiger mount differently though. It's a TCG item like all the other ones they've given away essentially for free, if people are willing to watch 4 hrs to get twitch drops or spend tender. Why is the tiger any different? Because its highly coveted? But the Feldrake isnt? And people spent the same amount, probably MORE for the feldrake, WITH REAL MONEY, than the tiger.

Anyway. Yeah. Digital scarcity is stupid in my opinion. Feel free to disagree but don't be a dick about it.
