#she was literally forced into a back seat because they wanted to involve wesley crusher its so dumb#they set up the rescue of chakotay as her mission and didnt follow through so stupid#how did they fumble it#all they had to do was let her and the Protostar crew go get him#i know people like s2 but it's so hollow in some respects and deeply upsetting how underdeveloped some ideas actually are#funny how scenes without wesley flow so much better and have a lot more gravitas#im watching it out of order to look for reference and it's like 'huh this feels so much nicer'#i enjoy prod particularly the art but i wont defend the sloppy narrative of season 2#i dont even hate welsey like the meme he was digestable in TNG what i do hate is W-Weaton's brand and how it taints everything
