I make fun of people for having wack taste in "sexy" accents & have done my whole life, especially when it's just people getting off to their own classism, racism, fetishization, and/or anglo- or francophilias…

but honestly, irish accents do sound really cool. like they're just fun to listen to. negl.

Better. worldwide.#and y'all know how i feel abt black / indigenous / ''colonial'' accents & dialects improving conqueror languages lmao #but gaeilge sounds cool & irish accents do sound cool like that is just a fact.#(scottish accents can b bewildering tbh & i can't say for sure i've ever heard welsh. but posh english accents? unspeakably boring & grating #like period dramas… hugh grant… a bunch of the harry potter kids… it's so DULL.#charles dance & like… sir ian and jeremy irons are i think some of the only actors i've seen/heard successfully sound upper crust without #being utterly boring and tbh idk how much of that is the influence of The Theatre ykwim?#same as with patrick stewart; i grew up on star trek so he's not boring to me but he's more interesting irl than as ebenezer scrooge.)#like rich english people sound BAD and we all need to acknowledge that.
