how long had it been since you last felt at peace with your lover? how long had it been since you hadn’t had to walk on eggshells around him? how long had it been since you went to bed happy?
answer: too long ago to remember.
sure, alhaitham had been nothing but the sweetest with you, so patient when you were in one of your moods, so understanding when you were occasionally too busy with work to see him. he’d been vulnerable with you, and let you do the same with him in turn, under multiple starry nights. he’d even shown you his softest side– kaveh often joked that he should hold you hostage next time he forgot the house keys and needed alhaitham to open the door for him. but perhaps you should’ve been just a little more observant.
why did alhaitham, of all people, always end up in a foul mood when he saw you laughing with your other male friends? because he was jealous. why did he get jealous even though he knew they were just your friends? … i don’t know. it didn’t matter, then, because you found it kinda endearing how he was obsessed with you and you could tirelessly assure him that he was the only one for you.
and then it got worse.
“why won’t you let me hang out with my friends?”
“because there’ll be guys.” your lover replied, not missing a beat, and not looking up from that stupid book he’d been reading for days on end.
“what’s that got to do with–” you felt your blood pressure rise. “are you implying you can’t trust me with other guys?”
out of everything you’d said that afternoon, that was the one that got him to put his book aside.
“what? no, that’s not what i–”
“then what do you mean?” you raised your voice, “because ever since the start of this relationship, all you say every time i so much as mention one single guy friend is how you get jealous and how much you don’t like when i talk about them! you ever hear me do that when you talk about your friends?”
“woah, babe, will you relax for a second? can’t we talk this out?”
you stopped dead. “relax?” you repeated in disbelief. upon seeing his face — completely serious — you sighed and reached for the door. “...i can’t do this right now. i need space.”
“wait– where’re you going?”
“out.” you didn’t see, didn’t hear him reach for you, mouthing the words “don’t leave.”
you had never been more grateful to have candace as a friend, for she had welcomed you into aaru village with open arms and told you to stay for as many nights as you needed to.
why did you always give in to alhaitham’s needs, even if it burnt you out? because i loved him. why hadn’t he done the same, and instead constantly rejected you when you voiced your needs, saying he’d already been trying his best? … i don’t know. yet he’d turned around and made you feel like the asshole for asking him to meet your needs.
“sometimes, i feel like you don’t even care about me. do you really love me?”
“...what?”
he sighs. “it feels like i’ve given up so much for you, but you never did for me.”
“?????”
“you… don’t agree?” he looked at your dumbfounded face, at your mouth opening and closing as you looked for words to defend yourself without making the conversation yet another argument.
“i…” you inhaled deeply. “what made you think that?” you attempted a small smile to show you were calm — so he wouldn’t tell you to relax and be patient with him, like he had countless times before — but it felt so wrong.
i gave up my dream to move to fontaine for you, you want to scream. all because you’d rather stay in sumeru but couldn’t bear the thought of being far away from me.
alhaitham had always been excellent at chess. maybe a bit too good, now that you thought about it. maybe that’s why his proficiency at the game translated into his actions around you.
“i’ve been thinking about it, and i think i want a break.”
“you want a breakup?”
“no. just– just a break from this.” you gestured lamely, “from this relationship. it’s stressing me out.”
he stared, incredulous. “how am i stressing you out?”
“not you, i–”
“tell me what’s wrong, babe.” he interrupted, reaching out to clasp your hands with his. “i’ll do better, we can work on it together, right?”
“but you always say that.”
“i mean it every time, i really do.” he sounded so desperate, so pleading, till part of you wanted to just take back everything you’d just said.
you inhaled. “i just think the break would be good for us, you know? like, i’ve been stressed out because you’ve been upset i haven’t been fulfilling your needs and i think i could use the break to work on myself so you don’t feel neglected, y’know?”
“no.” he stared at you like you just told him cyno was in love with kaveh. “you know you’re going to make things worse if we go on break.”
“oh.”
later that night, as you tiptoed out of the house with your bags, you couldn’t help but wonder if alhaitham was the only one who brought the relationship you had to its bitter end.

-> marriage
synopsis -> you propose to dehya after a particularly fancy dinner party with the sumeru vision weilders.
warnings -> none! pure fluff (dehya brainrot goes crazy)
w/c -> 1.3k
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you and dehya have been dating for several years now- crawling up on your third next month. though you weren’t a vision wielder, you were invited to a dinner party that all of the sumeru vision holders were hosting. they each made an agreement that everyone was able to bring along an additional person if they pleased, idea brought up by nilou. so obviously, dehya chose to bring you.
normally, due to your girlfriends line of work, she’d have no time for these events. you talked to her, and then giving her a moment to confirm with the others that this will be one she will be attending, and that, due to the traveler symbolizing the importance and your asking, she will be bringing you as her person.
a few days later, the morning of the dinner, you walked over to where nilou, traveler, and alhaitham were gathered, likely discussing the journey to fontaine. you walked up to them, nilou and traveler greeting you with a wave as alhaitham nodded his head at your presence.
“hello, y/n!” nilou brought you in for a hug. “how are things with you and dehya? i know i’m seeing you two tonight, but i just couldn’t help but ask.” she ended that sentence with a slight giggle, releasing the hug and allowing traveler and paimon to greet you properly, following up with alhaitham.
“well, that’s kind of why i came to find you.” you sighed, a slight smile on your face. you could see nilou go visibly pale, thinking she knows what she’s about to hear.
“i just… need help with how to propose to her.”
any lack of emotion immediately left nilous face, her putting her hands to her cheeks in glee and allowing paimon to talk this time.
“paimon knew this day would come!! the only thing dehya talks about when we get together is you, y/n!” she did a little backflip in the air. “when do you think you’re gonna do it? you have to fill paimon in!”
at this time, alhaitham had excused himself to work, and you were now starting to walk through sumeru city. you were keeping a sharp eye out for dehya, hinting to nilou and traveler to do the same, and for traveler to tell paimon to keep her voice down incase she or someone she knew was around to hear.
“well, how soon would you want to do it? and how big of a deal would you want to make it?” nilou wondered. “are you thinking about taking the zubayr theatre for a little bit for the proposal?”
you sighed, brushing a stray hair back behind your ear. “that’s what i need help on. i know i want it to be either tonight or tomorrow, but i don’t really know how to go about it. i know she probably wouldn’t want too big of a croud surrounding her, so maybe not the zubayr theatre. i was thinking somewhere… special. maybe where we first met, though that was just a little shack of a cafe in the middle of the caravan ribat. it’s certainly not a big place, but i kind of want to take her there. though, it depends on where we are dining tonight.”
nilou nodded, processing all that information, thinking as you walked the paths of the city.
“paimon thinks you should just propose where you first met! we’ve had to help out with proposals before, right, traveler?”
the traveler nodded.
“exactly! paimon has experience under her wing. did you buy the ring yet?”
you nodded, pulling a box out of your pocket that held a beautiful red topaz jewel in the center with a gold band glimmering in the sunlight.
“that’s a beautiful ring, i think she’ll love whatever you do, y/n!” nilou clapped her hands, giggling a little. “i’d just say, take her to your spot in the caravan ribat. explain the significance of the spot if she doesn’t exactly remember, and then propose! i don’t see her saying anything but yes!!”
you laughed, putting an arm around nilous shoulder and giving her a side hug.
“thanks, nilou. and thanks, paimon and traveler! i’ll see you guys later!!” you walked off, heading back to your shared apartment.
before you knew it, it was time to go to dinner. you zipped up the back of dehyas dress as she helped you straighten out any visible wrinkles in your dress/suit, and you two were off. where the dinner was is a very fancy and expensive restaurant in the middle of sumeru city, the night reserved to your party. as you two walked in, you were immediately greeted by a waitress, who walked the two of you to the table, where you saw cyno, nilou, the traveler and paimon, a few other guests everyone brought along, and nahida herself. you both waved and greeted everyone before taking your own seats.
the dinner went by in a blur. the bill was paid, and you all parted your own ways. though, instead of bringing dehya back to your apartment, you were walking in the direction of the desert, taking her hand in yours as soon as you knew that nobody would be around to see such displays of affection.
after a while of walking in silence, she looked at you.
“hey, where are we going? this is the direction of the desert, not our apartment, ya’know..”
“i’m aware. i just have somewhere to take you. then we’ll be on our way.” you gripped her hand a little harder, slightly cuddling into her shoulder as you guys walked. “the night is very beautiful, no?”
she nodded. “it’s very pleasant tonight. normally, nights around here get pretty bitter. is that why you wanted to take a walk?”
“yeah, for the most part. theres another reason, but you’ll figure that out once we reach our destination. we aren’t far!” you laughed slightly before picking up your pace, dragging her behind you. she laughed as well, making this into a race to see who could travel the farthest distance.
as soon as the two of you reached the caravan ribat, you took a deep breath, attracting dehyas attention as you stopped her in front of the cafe you two met at.
“do you remember what this place means to our relationship, dehya?” you said with a slightly shaky voice.
“of course i do. we met here, and this was where we had our first date. why would i forget something as important as that?” she ruffled your hair slightly as you got down on one knee, catching her off guard.
she looked around to see if anyone was watching before looking back down at you. you pulled a beautiful ring out of your pocket and held it up to her.
“dehya. when i first met you, it immediately felt to me as if i had found the one. that probably explains why we got so close so fast. i felt like the luckiest person alive when we went out for our first date, and felt even luckier when you moved in with me. you deserve nothing short of the best, someone who will love you and support you, and someone who will always be there for you. will you allow me to be that person for as long as you and i live, and marry me?”
you could swear this was the first time you saw her shocked. at this point, your heart was beating what felt like 50 times per second, and you were probably sweating a waterfall right now.
“yes, of course!” she laughed, letting you slip the ring on her finger before picking you up and spinning you around. she took a moment to gaze down at the ring that adorned her ring finger, smiling as she felt her chest warm up. she looked up at you before passionately kissing you, and ended the night having your first date at that same cafe, but now as your fiancee.

CRYING!!! JUST READ YOUR NEW TCF/GENSHIN CROSSOVER AND IM SO IN LOVE??? THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!
No like seriously it's amazing and it's already one of my very favorite tcf fics out there. I can't wait to see more of Cale just being the nerd we all know he is and Alberu just going absolutely feral. I haven't touched genshin in forever and a year but you made me want to play it. (I have REALLY bad gacha luck on genshin and it killed my motivation for the game since I'm a f2p. I have not pulled even one 5 star lol.)
I will always support dragon Cale. And BABY dragon Cale??? Sign me UP.
AHHH IM SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT!!!
I’ll be real I’m someone who has spent insane amounts of time on Genshin to the point of multiple burnouts (Stopped playing at Sumeru released then hyper focused miserably on Sumeru played for a few updates and then stopped playing again at Fontaine release and here I am hyper focusing an insane amount once more) Straight up there’s a reason I have details like Cale having had multiple accounts and shit, because that is me I had multiple accounts.
I will say if you do revisit the game if you’re willing maybe make a new account? Only saying this cause my first account was pretty similar luck wise so I had always lost the 50/50 plus had to reach hard pity in order to get a 5 star, and then I made a new account and my luck is insane on that account. Swear that shit is tied to email.
When it comes to Cale nerd moments I can’t stress enough that it’s also my nerd moments, I think about this game a normal amount. And we haven’t even gotten into Alberu going batshit yet, wait until he meets Klee it’s going to be glorious.
AND BABY DRAGON CALE MY BELOVED. The Dragon Cale brainrot started cause of a different Tcf crossover I’m making atm, but the Genshin reobsession happened and it leaked into it. Also my totally normal views on any Dragon in media(I have favorites.) When it comes to the baby dragon detail, it’s not something I’ll go to far into as of now, but it is something that will be vastly expanded on in the fic itself. (Such as the little detail of baby dragons being terrible at hiding themselves.)
Outside of all that I’m so very glad you’re enjoying it! I’m afraid I didn’t pre write chapters when releasing this first one so it’s updates will be inconsistent as it’s more so a ‘gets posted when the chapters done’ kinda deal, but that also means I get a lot of time to cook with my writing! I hope you continue to enjoy the story as chapters are posted!
And I’ll leave this off on a note relating to events in Chapter 2 as a treat:
Cale is the sleepiest eepiest guy around

“Oh my Archon, I hate those guys.”
Kaveh covered his face with a palm of the hand when two merchants stopped by the counter. Alhaitham raised one of his eyebrows and looked at his friend appraisingly, but didn’t say anything. Deep down, however, he was curious how this situation would develop. He didn’t have to wait long to see. Despite Kaveh’s brilliant camouflage, the two men immediately noticed him and briskly approached their table.
“Kaveh! What a pleasant surprise to see you here!” exclaimed the first one.
“Although it’s a likely place for you to be!” said the other and they both bursted with laughter.
They seemed to be already dizzy and yet they came to the bar. Alhaitham was almost impressed by what kind of friends Kaveh had.
The Architect responded with a pale smile.
“Good evening, gentlemen. How is your business going?”
First, he tried to avoid them, and now he was inviting them to an unnecessary small talk. What odd behavior, thought Alhaitham. Kaveh always acted like a pure paradox to him.
“You know, sometimes better, sometimes worse… Oh, my apologise, good evening Grand Scribe, sir.” Both men bowed respectfully towards Alhaitham.
“Good evening,” he responded dryly.
One of the unwanted companions lurched and had to hold on a back of a chair not to fall. Alhaitham knew this reaction from his own experience with overstressed Kaveh, who used to drown his sorrows. But for the last two months, the Scribe hasn’t been forced to take his drunk to dead friend home. During the evenings in the restaurant, which became quite a tradition now, Kaveh would drink from two to four glasses of wine and nothing more to make him dizzy. Alhaitham hadn’t say anything about that, but obviously noticed the change. And secretly, he enjoyed Kaveh’s company even more now.
“Are those seats taken?” one of the merchants asked as if he had just noticed two empty chairs next to them.
“Actually—“ started Kaveh but he was not meant to finish.
“No, they are not,” told them Alhaitham according to truth.
The Architect glared at him angrily.
“It seems like we haven’t talked to each other for ages!” opened the taller man.
He had a monocle and a thin chain attached to his pocket in which there must have been a watch. The other was shorter and wider, he had a high hat, judging by the shape and fabric, most likely from Fontaine. They both looked affluently. Alhaitham started to wonder how Kaveh had met them.
“Yes, seems like,” the Architect answered absently, but soon his ghost returned to the restaurant when the tall merchant spoke again.
“Sorry for not having enough time, we’ve been working a lot. Not that you know any of it.” They both shared a laugh.
Kaveh clenched his teeth.
“I am working a lot as well,” he snapped back sharply.
“Well, compared to, let’s say our Grand Scribe for example, you don’t do much.”
They both were drunk, Kaveh knew there was no use in arguing with them right now, but he couldn’t so simply let go. Not when Alhaitham was sitting just next to him and was listening to all that nonsense.
“My job is as important as everyone’s,” he tried to be polite. Unfortunately, drunk merchants didn’t make it easy for him.
“I highly doubt. The Grand Scribe and General Mahamatra for instance protect our country,” said the taller one with monocle.
“Professors in Akademiya teach future generations,” continued the other one.
Soon they just started listing residents of Sumeru, claiming that all of their jobs were more important than planning buildings.
“Forest Watchers protect nature.” “Lord Sangemah Bay takes care of merchants.” “Deyha…”
“All right, all right, I get it,” Kaveh interrupted their counting. ”All those occupations are important for our society, but they just have different tasks. It doesn’t mean that people don’t need architects.”
“Actually, I believe that architecture is an outdated craft,” spoke up Alhaitham all of sudden.
They all slowly turned towards him, while he was taking a sip from the cup. Kaveh never thought he would live up to the day that his nuisance of a roommate would ever engage in a pointless conversation with dull strangers met in the restaurant. The Architect was so shocked, he didn’t even catch what Alhaitham had said at first. But when his words reached out to him eventually, Kaveh clenched his fists under the table.
“Excuse me?”
Alhaitham looked down upon him. The Architect couldn’t believe that his friend could act like that towards him. It was so unlike of Alhaitham to ever put himself above others. Even though he was certainly better situated than Kaveh, he never tried to show him how miserable the life of the bankrupt is. Not purposely at least. The Architect felt sour taste of disappointment on his tongue and reached out for a wine to wash it away. He twisted his face with the first sip. It wasn’t his wine, it was… And then everything became clearer. The cup, that the Scribe drank from, did not have the aloe water he ordered in it. He must have mistaken it with Kaveh’s wine. And the cups were standing like for quite a while. That must have been the main culprit of Alhaitham’s odd behaviour.
“Everyone would be able to sketch a stable building if they have all their marble. It is just a block after all,” the Scribe stated dashingly.
His tone in fact showed evidence of his not-so-sober state. Kaveh tried to keep low profile, but he couldn’t just stay silent. Architecture was his whole sense of living since he learned how to play with toy blocks that his dad got him. Later he discovered how enormous and fascinating it is to plan buildings so monumental yet aesthetic and most importantly, useful. Not a single line he ever drew on a blueprint was excrescent. He graduated from Akademiya with honours and that meant he couldn’t just simply let anyone insult the field of architecture. Not even Alhaitham, who was surely half-under.
“I doubt, it’s that simple. I could tell you how important architecture is for experiencing various emotions, but I am not sure if any of you find it relevant in your logical worlds. Let me then ask you, if architecture was indeed far less important, wouldn’t there be more architects and wouldn’t their service cost less? To graduate from Ksharewar is more demanding than from few other majors. Do these rational takes convince You, my friends?“
“On the other hand, why waste time on unnecessary and expensive ornaments when you can keep it minimalistic?” Even drunk Alhaitham showed his masterclass in repelling arguments.
His roommate didn’t know how to respond to that. He surely had a point but at the same time it wasn’t simple for Kaveh to express what he feels while working on a new project. It was like a burning passion, a fire in his heart. There were no words to describe that.
“Well, because—”
“Don’t worry Kaveh, we still value you as a friend. Even though you don’t have a serious job,” the merchant tapped him on a back.
The architect let go a breath and gave up on answering that. He barely spoke for the rest of the evening. He and Alhaitham waited until both merchants left them alone and then decided to return home. Kaveh didn’t even say a word on their way back, which was unusual for him.
Just when they were almost in front of their door, Alhaitham spoke up:
“Are you mad at me?”
“Why would I be?” was his response.
He didn’t want to argue with Alhaitham who was not fully sober, and therefore could say something inconceivably harmful. And it would be Kaveh to overthink it with the wine for the next couple evenings.
“Because of what I said about being an architect.”
“Good that he can at least recall that”, thought the Light of Ksharewar. How come it was him who had to be rational today?
“You just expressed your opinion.”
“That’s actually—“
Kaveh cut him in.
“I don’t want to argue today. I’m tired,” he claimed while browsing through his pockets. “Uh! Where’s my key!?”
Alhaitham wasn’t even looking for his, although Kaveh was sure he would find it within seconds.
“I don’t think you got the meaning of what I had said,” the Scribe continued conversation, even though his friend was obvious in showing his incuriosity of that topic.
“You don’t value my work, because you think I focus too much on aesthetics and beauty instead of simplicity.” Kaveh snorted. “It was not hard to get.”
“You can always change your job.”
The architect frowned. Why was Alhaitham so talkative when Kaveh had really no intention to have a conversation with him, but when tension between them was getting intense, he barely spoke!? It felt a bit unfair.
“Change? No, I understood what you meant, but I have not said that I agree with you. You are simply wrong.”
Too late he realised he pulled the trigger. How could he say to someone who had a reputation of always being right that he had a false opinion on something? Maybe Kaveh wasn’t drunk that night but he certainly acted like he wasn’t thinking.
“Where am I wrong?” Alhaitham stood between him and the door. Kaveh had to chin up to look into his eyes.
“You think that beauty and originality doesn’t serve a useful function. But it does. And it is not that simple to design a building, even the one that you referred to as ‘just a block’.”
“I doubt. The only thing you have to know is mathematics and then deducting proportions and structures won’t be a problem.”
They stared at each other intensively for few seconds. The Architect didn’t know how he came up with this idea, but it was too late to back off. He was determined to prove his rights and it seemed just like the right way to show Alhaitham how hard is his job.
“Very well. Let’s see then. For five days we will switch our professions and we will see what’s harder, designing buildings or browsing through documents.”
Kaveh looked at him challengingly, but the Scribe didn’t even hesitate before answering.
“Deal,” Alhaitham accepted his proposal and pushed the door to go inside.
“When did you open them!?” shouted Kaveh after, but he didn’t respond.

I started act 3 of Inazuma but was quickly reminded that this is where it all falls apart. The NPC side questing stuff in acts 1 and 2 was often tedious, but it at least served a purpose, but making you captain of a squad? Having you fight random ronin, "investigate" some monuments? It's purely padding, and the stuff with Teppei is already racing ahead with absolutely no sense of pacing...
So I peaced out to explore Enkanomiya instead. I had opened it a long while back, but only progressed a bit of the main world quest chain. Now, it's at 100%, the shade quests are all done, and the key sigils are all used. As a result, I've also finished the Sacred Sakura's Favor.
Despite having all the islands except Narukami also at 100%, I'm a good ways off from buying out the sigil shop tho. I did get the furnishing I really wanted and finished my interior build though, and that's the important part.
When I explored Enkanomiya on my main, I was rather meh about it. I did it as it came out, and it felt like yet another dark, dreary, uninhabited place with lots of annoying climbing and holes where you couldn't see anything, like a good half of Inazuma before it. (btw, they didn't do any layered maps here either. They literally just did Sumeru because everyone must have complained, and Fontaine because of the underwater. The other old regions? lol who cares about them, amirite)
On the second go around, while I didn't enjoy Enkanomiya as much as Dragonspine, I did like it a lot more. It does have some extremely cool and striking visuals, and the sinshades really are a good touch. They tell some pretty interesting stories. I just wish this was somehow connected to the actual living characters we have. I liked both the older shades from Byakuyakoku's brutal history before the Orobashi and the newer shades from Enkanomiya's last day, talking about how they're going up to the surface. It's interesting that this was a place that was left behind purposefully. Not in a disaster, or from the population slowly wasting away like Sal Vindagnyr, but to move out into the light.
(It's really very interesting to compare the sinshades in Enkanomiya vs the lingering ghosts on Tsurumi after the fog is lifted vs the ghosts in Liyue. I still wonder what happened in Liyue to create the conditions for all those ghosts. We don't see that in any other modern nation.)
I also did some remaining world quests on the surface, for "Masanori" and Inaba Kyuuzou. It really reminded me of how full of potential 2.0 had felt, when Inazuma threatened to be going somewhere. The quests are very simple and short, but they have some actually pretty good character writing. Both these samurai guys are given very distinctive characterizations, and they portray pretty vividly the brutality of the war. "Masanori" also drops some interesting hints about Inazuma's society... But all this is ultimately aggressively wiped away in later patches, and by Sumeru, you can see how the writers have very decisively started aiming much lower.
(Hot take, but Sumeru's writing isn't particularly better than Inazuma's. It's just that Sumeru is ALL on the level of Inazuma's conclusion, so there's no sense of dissonance, like Inazuma having an interesting buildup that completely falls apart in the last act. Sumeru is just all bland, dragged out, surface-level time wasting the whole way through.)
But now there's nothing left to stall on. I have to do act 3, and then Ei's two quests, since that's required to unlock Ayato, Itto, and Thoma content.... sigh.

About Kaeya: Kaeya Alberich and I have met once during a trip I made to Mondstat… we were so much alike that we haven’t met since out of respect for our companions’ sanity
About Lyney & Lynette: The twins? I’m afraid I don’t know much about them besides whispers from my father’s colleagues, which often contradict each other. All I can say for sure is watch your back around them. I may not be able to help you if you fall into their traps and schemes
About Xinyan: She’s that rockstar from Liyue, right? I went to a few of her shows the last time I was in the Harbor and I am still so impressed how she took a Fontaine music genre and completely made it her own! She’s got major potential and I love her style
About: Family: My family… we’re not close for a few reasons that I won’t bore you with the details of. Lots of “he said”, “she said”, “they said”, you know how families are! Mine happen to be more conservative than most, which is fine, but their ideas of how I should live clash with my personal ideologies and it just became one large mess. *Sigh* I just wish that they would stop wanting me to follow in my father’s footsteps. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great guy and is one of the top legal advisers in Fontaine, but my calling has always been fashion. Is that so hard for my family to understand? I could never take part in a legal system that actively oppresses the little people and for some reason that’s even worse than simply wanting to leave the family business behind. Oh well…
About: Cryo: I once heard a tale that the Tsaritsa of Sneznhaya was the god of love at one point and that Cryo Visions represent that in some way. To me, there is no greater type of love than self love and confidence in one’s body. The message that all people are beautiful when they love themselves is one I wish that a younger version of myself was exposed to, so it is my duty to share it with everyone I meet. Of course, there are those who seek to snuff out certain types of beauty they don’t agree with and to that, I have a large icicle and I know exactly where I want to shove it
About: Hydro: The element of justice and the element that corresponds with our reigning Archon. You know what would be justice? Not taxing the life out of the people and shoving the Mora into the pockets of the rich! You know what would be justice? A legal system that doesn’t keep “criminals” awaiting a fair and public trial when the mood strikes our “Divine Judge”! You know what would be justice? Not making bail so high for the incarcerated that it becomes impossible for them to ever be set free! She is wasting her life away in a prison awaiting a trial that will most certainly be unfair for a crime she did not commit and there’s no way in the legal system for me to help her! Who is she? … someone who I couldn’t save. Iris, my closest companion, got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time and I wasn’t available to be her alibi before she was taken away in shackles. Our benevolent Archon talks long and hard about how water can carve canyons and reshape the earth through erosion, but all I’m seeing from her is the tranquility of a small creek and the laziness of waves licking the shore
About: Fontaine Legal System: If you thought the legal systems in Liyue and Inazuma were ridged then… phew you have a LOT to learn about Fontaine! That’s why I dedicate a lot of my free time to helping those who get swept up in the chaos! However… some small businesses have started paying my employees to keep watch over them when our wonderful Archon’s police come knocking and then one thing led to another and now I have an entire underground establishment that works against the legal system and is fighting for reform. Look, I didn’t mean to start all of this, but it’s what I work with now
About: Lochfolk: Ocianid… oh you mean the Lochfolk! I’ve never seen one before, I thought they all left Fontaine. You’ve met a few? I’m impressed, it seems you truly are as well traveled as you claim to be
About: Glacfleur Fashion House: That’s my boutique! Built it from the ground up! We cater to all patrons from all walks of life! We have fashion from Inazuma, Sneznhaya, Liyue, Sumeru; you name it, we have it! And if not, we also make clothing and jewelry to order! To know everything we sell is authentic, look for the Iris Emblem embroidered or engraved on all of our pieces
About: Technology: The best part of Fontaine besides the culture has to be the technology! We’re no where nearly as advanced as Sneznhaya, but we have plumping, lights, refrigerators, kameras, music boxes… it makes life so much easier! Just waiting for the rest of Teyvat to catch up…
About: Scars: You want to know how I got these scars? It was a bad run-in with some bandits during one of my first ever deliveries to the countryside. Ended up with an explosive bottle to the face that shattered on impact and almost took off my entire cheek. I’m glad I have such an attractive face, otherwise I might have never recovered! That experience is also why I wear glasses… I’m lucky to not have gone blind from the shards of glass that ended up in my eyes
About: The Steambird: I have a subscription to that paper. I’m very interested in the astrology column they published and often the Glacfleur Fashion House makes an appearance in a few articles concerning the culture and fashion of Fontaine! I’m glad my work is being recognized
About: “Iris”: I already told you that the emblem of the Glacfleur Fashion House is an iris blossom, what else did you want to know? … You’ve been seeing the symbol scratched onto certain walls and alleys? Well… hehehe… sometimes I do more work than just running the boutique. N-Nothing illegal if that’s what you’re thinking! I just… uh… promise not to tell anyone? Okay… recently, the court system of Fontaine has started cracking down with more taxes for the people and as such, the Glacfleur Fashion House has been graciously supporting small businesses and giving protection to people in less than fortunate financial circumstances. It’s not a mafia!!! Why does everyone keep saying that?!
