I’m by no means any sort of expert on any animal’s behavior so please feel free to ignore this random observation/ opinion.
But something I find interesting about people defending Moo Deng’s treatment is the frequent assertion that her keepers love her, as if that excuses everything. I honestly don’t doubt that her keepers love her, but that doesn’t mean their actions are appropriate.
To me it’s reminiscent of someone cornering and petting a dog against it’s will because “I just LOVE dogs!!!”. Loving the animal doesn’t mean you can’t inadvertently harm them with your actions.
Idk, I just have a lot of feelings on this and this was my attempt to sum them up. Hope it makes some sort of sense 😅
Oh yeah tell me about it! I appreciate you sharing this because I feel like I'm going insane when I see people being given the same information as I have and drawing a totally different conclusion from it.
Like... it's not okay just because they harass her a little bit. That's... not how that works.
Also I find the "trust the keeper" argument super ironic coming from someone who worked with dolphins - the species in human care that EVERYONE has an opinion on. And you'll tell people "hey, trust me on this. I see these dolphins every day. They participate in their own health care and don't do something if they don't want to. They are objectively in good welfare based on all the current data we have of what that looks like. I do behaviour records every day to prove this. And if I didn't think they were doing well, I'd be fighting tooth and nail to improve their lives or I would leave my job." (which I have done, btw)
And I'll still be told I'm enslaving dolphins and I do it for the money (when it was free labour - yay for animal industry exploitation - or absolutely bugger all). Trust the keeper... unless I watch a biased documentary packed full of misinformation. Then I know *more* than the keeper will and the keeper is just a moron who doesn't need a science degree and years of unpaid internship experience for this job!
But if it's a cute animal that has no preconceptions established of their welfare in human care? It's free game to coo over. Sure the keeper just dropped that squirming, panicking baby hippo he was trying to force into a tub! But he has so much experience because someone on reddit said so! It's actually all just desentisation! (not how desensisation works ever)
Can you tell I'm frustrated? Yeah...
Anyway I am usually the first in line to defend a zoo and their keepers - I know it's not easy to work in a zoo that's underresourced or in an education vaccum. But I'm going to call out bad handling when I see it. Especially when it's reinforced by social media clout and is being encouraged to continue by people justifying it as "desenitisation" or "actions of an experienced keeper."
#animal welfare#moo deng#zoo politics#watch a bunch of people swarm my comments about how bad it is to have dolphins in human care#we got research on this guys#they good

As much as I love hearing trump getting more charges and would love nothing more than him to get sent to prison, I fear that when he eventually goes to trial, they’re will be some crazy maga nut who could watch him kill their mother and would still claim he’s innocent.
Honestly, I am... not totally sure what y'all want me to say here? I get the fear, believe me, but also, after every Trump indictment, just like clockwork, a lot of Gloomy the Doom Men pop up to pre-emptively insist that it doesn't mean anything, it won't go anywhere, he won't actually be punished, etc. I'm not saying this is that, but it does happen every time, and I just... don't know what I'm supposed to do about it? Is this part of the whole "The System Doesn't Work and Therefore We Are Justified in Not Participating" thing that the online leftists habitually do, or what? Honest question. First it was he'll get re-elected, then it was he will never leave power, then it was the Republicans will win in 2022, then it was he will never get indicted, etc. The goalposts keep shifting so any progress we do make on holding him to account (which is far more than has ever happened to any other American president, including actual war criminal George W. Bush) somehow is "meaningless" and I just?? Don't get it??
First of all, jury selection is a thing, and aims to weed out those who, in this case, are either too vehemently against Trump or too vehemently for him. They want the exact sort of mushy middle voter of which there are far too many in this country, who can be persuaded one way or the other but doesn't have ironclad previous biases. Also, they must have done a good job selecting jurors so far, given that all the grand juries have returned indictments, and at least one of them (the one in NY) had someone who was a fan of conservative talk radio/right wing politics. So if by this you mean one rogue juror will preclude a guilty conviction, that is something that can actually be planned for and prepared, and as I said, all the grand juries seated to hear evidence against Trump so far have returned indictments.
Also, this case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is an Obama appointee and has been willing to sentence J6 defendants harshly in the past. She is widely regarded as competent, fair, and firm, and will not grant any of the bullshit delays that Aileen Cannon the Trump-stooge judge will bend over backward to find for him in the Mar-a-Lago docs case in Florida. So there's a strong possibility this one goes to trial before May 2024, and the judge in this case is neither a Trump judge or a slobbering Trump partisan: indeed, quite the opposite. So I don't think we can assume that she will be so incompetent as to not manage her own trial and/or jury.
Anyway, yes. We don't know what will happen, but similar to the Espionage Act charges he got hit with last time (themselves meriting of a stiff prison sentence) Trump is facing yet more high-level felony charges that come with serious jail time. So how about for now, we don't automatically assume that what will be the most watched and covered trial in a generation will fall apart because of a simple and easily avoidable mistake that even I, a non-lawyer, know how to fix, much less a team of extremely experienced prosecutors who know this has to be absolutely fucking watertight and then some? It will be better on your mental health for the long run and arguably also much more accurate.

I just realized what insominiac Games is about to do with the new game and I love it
So its not really like the biggest shocker, Bit I am 100% sure we get to to another crack in Time sorta deal with the new game.
The New Game will follow Clank and The New Lombax Girl, Basically it will be standard rachet and clank gameplay, as I'm sure clank will jump on this new girls back in no time, and only enhance her gameplay.
Oh yeah, Did I mention we get to play as her?
You may be asking how I know this. I simply do, Its so very obvious. The reveal, pitting Clank and main but generally supporting character with her as opposed to Rachet, the robot arm and mallet looking hammer to rival the omniwrench, its so clearly a setup.
By the way, we get to play as Her.
It'll be just like regular rachet gameplay except with a few fun twists. For starters, Since she has a hammer we can expect to see the return of hammer slam we previously only used back in the very first rachet and clank game with the booster pack. So expect hammer based doors and switches. Also since its a energy looking hammer, we will probably get a stronger ground pound, possibly with a energy pulse wave upon impact. Also the robot arm. I'm not sure what it can do yet (except maybe allow her to have her weapon return after throwing it similar to the omniwrench), but I imagine its gonna add some twists of its own.
As for her Tail, I think it'd might be a reverse of the norm for her dimension . Male Lombaxes don't have tails there while females do.
What I'd rather it be us Lombaxes in that universe all have tails they just have different ones, Males have thin lion-like tails and females have soft fluffy ones. This could be justifiable I think. But I really like Tails on lombaxes so for that I am totally biased.
Story Wise I think Dr.Nefarious or a villain of similar magnitude has Taken over Hatchets world-
(haha get it? Because Hammer and Rachet- you know what nevermind. Lets just agree to call her that until they give us the official name-)
Anyways its pretty much a sonic forces esque dimension where the bad guys have won and their is a resistance fighting against them. Pretty sure Hatchet is part of said resistance for obvious reasons. I mean just look at her outfit. Its screams "I'm a resistance fighter living in the backdrops of this overrun city, with this being one of the few places the evil po po can't get us."
Meanwhile Rachet has been separated from his best friend yet again, and is being sent through dimensions and warped realities. Honestly who he meets is anyone's guess, but he'll eventually meet up with Hatchet and Clank because by the end of this game I am pretty sure we are gonna help save Hatchets world. So her main villain is probably gonna be the final boss. If they decide to do a cliff hanger after the game ends though, it'll probably be that Hatchet's Villain somehow survives and escapes to rachets world and plots his revenge. Or he comes across some new power on a different dimension he was stuck in.
She's likely to tell us about her world as her clank travel to eventually meet up with rachet at some point.
For a real twist I imagine-
(assuming they do go banished to separate Dimension-)
That he meets emperor Tachyon and/or the cragmites. I wouldn't be surprised tbh. Being as the dimensionator banished him, and he might be able to recreate it, its logical for it to be him over some of the other people we have faced. Plus, I don't know if nefarious could put aside his ego to work with another villain of equal like power. But its always a possibility.
