the zuko vs. nico di angelo blorbo poll is absolutely baffling me. i know, i KNOW the impact atla has had on this site. but i also know that percy jackson/heroes of olympus was the gateway to fandom proper for so many of us, and among people i've talked to nico is a household name in the hall of first blorbos. WHERE IS YOUR LOYALTY. at the time of this post nico stands at 25% on that poll. this is a pathetic turnout. listen. i can accept if zuko wins. what i will not settle for is for nico to lose with this much of a gap. this nerdy emo child did so much for multiple generations of people coming into fandom due to character development, personality, and he was one of the first visibly queer characters in popular books intended for younger audiences. a hell of a lot of people clung onto those things, so where are you now? pay some respect to your goddamn roots
