Before I leave tomorrow on my vacation I thought I'd request a show/series that is very dear to my heart. Like, if you made me pick between this series and Ninjago I'd mostly likely pick the former.

The series is called Kekkaishi. It's an anime and manga by Yellow Tanabe. The anime ran on Adult Swim between October 2006 to February 2008 and the manga ran from October 2003 to April 2011 with 35 volumes (one more than Attack on Titan btw).

I dunno if you're into anime or manga.....but....it's so forgotten. So not known. It hurts me really. When the anime was airing and the manga was still being made, it was so popular and highly ranked....but now...

I grew up watching Kekkaishi along side other young children shows like Spongebob, Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, etc.

The basic summary boils down to this: Two families that are called Kekkaishi or "Barrier Master" guard a mystical site at night from creatures known as Ayakashi (different than "demons", those are a separate thing). They've done it for 400 years. Oh, and the "mystical site" is the grounds of a middle/high school building. The protagonist is Yoshimori Sumimura and......

But anyways, the anime was canceled after 52 eps; I don't know why. I wish it wasn't. THERE'S SO MANY ARCS I'D LOVE TO SEE ANiMATED!!!!! The Julia mini arc! The Blank Box arc (my personal fav), the Healing Hidagou + Tokine Imprisoned arcs, and the Final Sealing Arc (would LOVE to Ufotable animate honestly)

You don't have to liveblog it but I'd still love it if you'd watch it. Plus all 34 volumes can be bought on Amazon!

Icy, it seems you and I have a lot of shared interests so I'd thought I'd at least share this one with you. I hate how something I love so fondly is so unknown (it honestly makes me depressed thinking about it)

Oooo, I've kind of heard of Kekkaishi. I had a couple of ex-friends who were reading the manga when it was still coming out. I don't know if they ever watched the anime tho (probably, if it was on Adult Swim).

I haven't read any manga in a while. I was taking a break from the anime culture for a little while and just haven't gotten back into it. The aforementioned ex-friends were kind of the reason why. I'll probably start again by rereading the first series I ever completed (Chrono Crusade) that 1 or InuYasha. Again.

I'll def keep Kekkaishi in mind. It looks and sounds interesting. I might add the anime to a poll, just to see if anyone else is interested in seeing me liveblog it.

What I write!

I mostly write fantasy, although it very much ranges from urban to high and all the in betweens. My main WIP, Star, is technically not fantasy, but it IS apocalyptic, which is my second favorite genre. Technically, everything I write has an element of romance or is a romance, but the romance is never the forefront of the plot and is rarely only romantic (aroace romance writer time).

My current WIPs are

Star, a post-apocalyptic queer romance starring Mental Health Boy and Mental Health Boy #2. It's atmospheric and deals with a lot of Things. I like it a lot! It's my main WIP and I have the most done in it, the cast includes Tristan and Orion. I've described it as grumpy x sunshine vs cult and that's still accurate. It's my longest running piece and if u follow me for it I PROMISE I won't abandon it. I haven't done it for years anyways

Science fiction Australia situation! 100 criminals get (consentually) sent to a superhabitable planet to prepare it for a human colony, the trip should take 150 years but something goes wrong and they end up making an emergency landing (read: aimed crash) on a smaller habitable planet leaving only 9 alive of the original 100. And humanity's already forgotten about them after nearly 120 years, so... found family queer bullshit, I think a majority of the characters aren't fully human including 1 squid person with bright colors, weird eyes, transparent skin and very strange hair, 1 robot made of pieces of magnetic metal so small they're basically magnetic fluid, 1 Guy with synthetic parts and a cool tail, 1 mildly mad scientist-esque dude that can only be described as if a person was a seal with maned wolf hardware, lots of microplants around a natural frame who is a hacker and diplomat, a mix between a fossa/civet type thing and a human, and a Guy with cool ears and a non-human genetic disease. Only two people bit don't worry they're cool too (autistic mechanic who likes engineering more than people and space pirate emo boy with a lot of grief and anger at the System, plus some symbiotic friends). Most likely includes a polycule because I can't choose who should be dating who (if you have an opinion, look for my poll a while ago)

I wont reveal who i am because this memory i am about to tell u is too embarrassing and dumb💕 BUT, i saw how you were talking about people's pronunciation of "y/n", on the poll there was an option like "your actual name/oc"

And i actually have a funny embarrassing story about that.

I haven't been on tumblr for a long time and although i knew what it was, i was never deep into the y/n culture thing, and just when i got into it last year with sun and moon i started to see more of it

Once i was curious of how it would made me feel if i read a fanfic and instead of reading "y/n" i would read my actual name.

Did some research and found out someone did this chrome extension where you can a word change- idk how to explain it but basically, everytime i read fanfic i would make it so everytime it said y/n it changed into my name

After a while, i had forgotten completely about the extension, JUST like i hadn't realized it didn't work only on ao3, but also in every website, including tumblr!!!

Because i was basically using tumblr for the first time again, i didn't follow many people and no one knew who i was, i consider that luck

I started following this artist who used y/n frequently, but my slow brain always thought they were calling a characters of theirs my name, OR, that they were using it as a nickname ( it made sense for me, somehow)

I sent them an ask talking about how funny i thought that they had a character with my name, they took a long time to respond, and onky after a few days i realized my mistake

To this day i don't talk to the artist anymore due to pure embarrassment, they did respond to my ask, but i think they were confused as hell bahaha

Anyway hope you enjoy my story, now i call y/n specifically your name even if that's basic af
