Based off this lovely thought that got deleted bc my dumbass posted the draft instead of saving it 🥲 anon, I hope this finds you!!! Please tell me if it did 😭💖 this could’ve been a mini series I think but I’m too lazy to spread it out!

Anyway, here’s my rambling imaginings 💖

Warnings: fem!reader, quite a bit of angst, a lot more fluff, some wine drinking and allusions to spice.

You hate to say it, but you’d been dreading this.

The news had been exciting when they found out about the tour. You, too, felt that exhilarating burst of energy hum through the room as the tour manager began the breakdown of the cities they’d see and the venues they’d play.

You’d hardly heard the shouts of joy around you, but you did see Jake’s face. His eyes so wide and bright, his smile stretched so taught across his mouth, his cheeks must’ve ached. You’d never seen him so happy as he threw his arms around Josh, clapping him on the back. Sam and Danny bounced over, already deep in eager conversation about Milan and France.

It was everything they’d been dreaming of.

Everything Jake had been dreaming of.

The four of them were a tight clump, muffled chuckles and words were exchanged as their parents joined in their embrace with pride and tears. Your heart swelled at the sight, being able to be here for it, to watch them celebrate, to see their dreams come true before their very eyes.

A world tour.

They’d just finished their last one, barely even unpacked. And now he’d be gone again.

Your stomach sank heavily, like a rock into quick sand, guilt churning deep within you; how could you be so damn selfish? This is everything he’s ever wanted and you’re thinking about yourself, again.

You keep the smile on your face, your hands knotted in your lap until Karen turned to you, eyes rimmed in red as she wiped at them, “Oh, honey, get on up in here—what are you doin way over there!” She chuckled as you blushed and made your way over to the unwinding arms, the layers of bodies falling away as Jake let go of Josh and looked to you.

One side of his smile hiked up, and you could see he’d clearly shed a few tears of his own as he wiped a fresh track away and passed it off as tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. You don’t hesitate to reach for him, chuckling softly when he yanks you into his chest and wraps you up tight.

You breathe him in, and swallow a hiccup—his neck a heady mixture of his warmth, sandalwood, and something deep and spicy that always cut through you. Tonight you clung to it like a safety blanket, thinking of the nights you spent in his bed without him, nose buried in his pillow as you tried not to cry like a lovesick fool.

“It’s really happening.” He whispers against your hair, running a tender hand down the back of your head.

You nod, “Better believe it, rockstar. You deserve every bit of it.” You squeeze him a little tighter before pulling back, already feeling the swell of emotions brewing within you.

For the rest of the visit with the managers and family, you sat quietly next to Jake, his arm slung around you holding you close, his other hand on your knee. He noted how tightly your legs were crossed and how you picked at your nails unflinchingly, not much to be heard from you.

Jake knew he didn’t need words from you to know you were okay, but every bit of his intuition told him something was up. He’d worried about leaving you alone so much. About how tiresome it must have gotten to be in a relationship over the phone for the last 8 months. Even missing your first anniversary while he was in Chicago.

He wondered if maybe your feelings were fading, that maybe he’d thought wrong about claiming all life had to offer him—that he couldn’t have both love and fame no matter how many times he convinced himself that maybe it’d work with the right person, and he was well passed sure that he’d found that person in you.

“—But until then, you guys are free. So use these next couple months to your advantage!” Aaron clapped and rubbed his hands together, eager for the next time they would hit the ground running.

Jake shoots you a familiar glance, his eyes asking, ‘are you ready to go?’

You nod and stand with him, bidding the family a good night before you were in Jake’s car headed back to his house.

The ride was quiet, almost tense. Jake thought maybe you were biding your time, wanting to be careful with your words and say the right thing as you always did. His chest tensed and he turned up the radio, so maybe the pressure to say something wouldn’t be so bad.

You were thankful for the Jefferson Airplane coming through the speakers, Today lulling you into a hazy calm as you stared out the window at the dark tree line. Jake snuck a glance at you every once in a while, trying to figure you out in a way he never had to before.

When you reach the long driveway and park, he turns to you expectantly. Your eyes dart away from his, scanning the car for anything else to look at besides his pretty face that made you wanna crumple like old paper.

“What?” You ask barely over a whisper.

“That’s what I’m wondering, myself.” He says casually, running his index finger down your cheek. “Talk to me.” He says softly.

You swallow and shake your head insistently, “Nothing, babe, I’m just tired. S’been an exciting day.” You chuckle and meet his eye with a soft smile that told him you were okay. You kissed his palm that now cradled your cheek before he could ask anymore questions. “That’s all.” You assure.

Jake nods and swipes his thumb across your cheek one more time before leaning in and pressing his lips to yours chastely—once, twice, three times, before pulling back and appraising you.

“Let’s get inside.” He whispered, suggesting a hot shower as you open your door and comically rush ahead of him just to hear his boisterous laughter.

It hadn’t been long since Jake had fallen asleep, his hair still damp from when you washed it for him, bergamot and rosemary shampoo the two of you shared lingered in the air around you. The light of the moon kissed his nose, his blanket tucked up over his shoulder. He was always beautiful, but when he slept he looked prettier than a Grecian bust.

You couldn’t sleep no matter how tired you got, and staring at the object of both your affection and agony wasn’t helping. You snuck out of bed, pulling on the cozy robe he’d gotten you the first night you stayed with him, and made off to the living room with your phone.

You’d become quite familiar with the space despite not getting to share much time with Jake in it. He’d asked you to take care of the plants and his cat, Percy, reminding you to send him pictures and updates whenever you were over there.

Really, he just wanted to see you in his house like it was your own. When you sent him snapchats looking all cute and sleepy in his bed, it did more for him than he thought possible. He’d told you to sleep on his side so that when he got home his sheets would smell like you, and you had no objections to his request.

Since the start of Dreams in Gold, you’d practically lived here, waiting for him to come home.

Your steps were light and slow as you crept down the hall, the quiet chatter of the forgotten TV was directed around a beautiful Asian dish being made on the screen. A single lamp was lit and the orange glow filled the room and part of the kitchen.

You spy your AirPods on the island and plop down in a chair at the counter, another soft light just barely illuminating the kitchen, emanating beauty and nocturnal comfort.

You tuck an earbud into your ear and open your music, trying to piece together the genre that would make the ache go away, nothing too slow or sad, nothing too loud— and then it hit you with a small smile.

You search up the 50s Greats playlist and hit shuffle, sighing in content when the sound of Unchained Melody began. Your mind went peacefully blank, and you laid your head on top of your folded arms.

And then you spotted the wine fridge.

The idea sounded lovely, a glass of fancy red to make you sleep? Yes please.

You tucked the other ear bud in and went about pouring yourself a generous amount of drink in a long stemmed glass Jake brought back from a vineyard he doesn’t remember visiting.

You took a generous gulp and tried not to gag at the bitter taste. It burned all the way down but not with a bite, a slow bitter curl coated your tongue and throat, insisting on more and more to be drunk.

So you do, and finish the glass before tucking your knees to your chest.

Your head was heavy, and just as Can’t Take My Eyes Off You begins, you notice the cooling tears that had fallen down your cheeks unknowingly. You sniffle and then hiccup, twisting your empty glass and considering a refill as Jake shuffled out of the hallway, his pants slung low on his hips and his shirt missing.

He rubbed his eyes and squinted around the room, spotting you after you sniffled again from your place balled up in the chair, your face buried in your knees.

“Hey…” he whispers, not noticing your headphones until he wraps his arms around you and you jump with a yelp. You rip out your AirPod and face him with flooded eyes, in the midst of your cry. “Baby!” He coos in surprise, “What’s wrong?” He pulls you back into his chest, his fingertips at work against your scalp.

You shake your head, “I… I-It was just a bad dream. I’m okay, I promise.” You sniffle, staring at his chest and not his face. His hands cupped your chin and made you meet his eye.

“Look at me.” He said with quiet and loving firmness. You lock eyes with him and take a deep breath through your mouth as he does. “I know you haven’t been to sleep.” He said knowingly. You close your eyes in embarrassment. “I need you to tell me what’s wrong…” he whispered, “—Before I start making assumptions.” He finished as if he hadn’t already formed them from the moment he saw your face at the studio meeting.

You stare at him for a moment, your tipsy brain swimming with swollen emotions and bruised self image.

“Everything.” You whisper before shaking your head, “And absolutely nothing. Truly.” You clamp your eyes shut in confusion. “It’s gonna be fine though.” You assure quietly, both yourself and him.

Jake puts a hand on your shoulder, keeping the other on your face. “Is this about the tour?” He asked quieter than before, his tone void of emotion.

You hesitate before you nod, and he mirrors you when he sees your answer, and you feel fear strike through you like a crack of thunder. He tsks and you feel his fingers squeeze your shoulder before rubbing it lovingly, “Whatever you’re thinking… I just want you to know… whatever you want, I want too.” He said directly into your eyes.

Your brows pinch before you shake your head, “What?”

He shakes his head and casts his gaze low, his mouth flat and eyes still empty, like a stone wall was put up to guard the windows you’d so easily peered into before. Was he angry? Was this what it looked like for him?

“I should’ve thought about what it would mean for you— me being gone all the time.” He said lowly. “I don’t blame you for getting tired of it, I really don’t.”

“It’s not that I’m tired of it, Jake.” You finally say. His eyes find yours again and you place the AirPod in your hand on the counter to cradle his face as he had done yours, “I love seeing your dreams come true. You are magic out there, baby—I will never get tired of hearing all the stories you have or the feeling I get when you call me on the road.” You ramble, thinking out loud more than anything.

“I’m just… scared.” You realize. Jake flinches back a little in confusion, “—scared of everything the world has to offer you—Everything I don’t have—it’s out there. And you have every opportunity imaginable, now. And yeah, I miss you like crazy, and I get bummed when I realize I’m watching your life happen through a phone screen, but I love seeing you happy even more than missing out makes me sad.” You shake your head emphatically.

Your phone lights up and Jake catches a glimpse of the album currently playing and forgotten in the AirPods. Jake looks back at you and picks up the loose ear bud, tucking it in his ear before reaching for your phone and unlocking it.

You chuckle in disbelief, tears still rolling down your face as he scrolls through the playlist and selects We Belong Together by Los Lobos and sets the phone back down, adjusting the volume with his slick smile that told you everything was about to be fine.

“The world?” He asks as he pulls you to your feet and places his hands around your waist. You drape your arms around his shoulders as you’d done countless times before and waited for him to continue, “I have it. Right here.” His fingers worked under the back of your shirt to graze your skin lovingly.

You scoff as he begins to sway you both side to side, his eyes boring into yours with unwavering confidence in his words. “I’m serious.” He says before releasing one hand from you and raising the other to have you spin, which you obliged with an adoring eye roll.

“You say that now, but—“

“No, no buts.” He shakes his head and begins swaying you again, “I don’t care what’s out there when I already have everything I’ve ever wanted right here at home with me.” He pulled you close and kissed your neck, the affection sending more tears prickling at your eyes and a wistful sigh

“Jake—“

“Shhh…” he whispered in your ear, tucking your head into his shoulder, “You’re mine. And I’m yours.” He said. “Nothings going to change that. Not as long as you want to be with me.” He stroked your back reassuringly as more tears fell down your cheeks.

“I always want to be with you.” You whisper pathetically, letting your forehead thunk against his chest.

You feel him chuckle against you before he kisses your head, “And I with you.” He says like a guy with a plan before he spins you, smiling at your own sleepy smile and closed eyes as you begin dancing with him properly, hips swaying and bare feet shuffling across the cold tile floor.

You giggle, “I can’t believe you like me that much.”

Jake snickers at your flushed skin, happy to see you so light after the heaviness that followed you today. He missed you. This.

Jake loved dancing with you. Whenever a song called to him, he was quick to sweep you up in a waltz and relish every smile or giggle he could pull out of you. When you started staying the night with him, you guys would take turns playing music, which quickly evolved into Jake playing beautiful melodies he said reminded him of you, songs he’d heard and longed to share with you in a close dance.

To think of it, everything made him think of you, he realized as he swayed with you in his arms. “More than you know.” He mumbled, spinning you one more time before wrapping you up and resting his head against yours, singing the rest of the song in his low velvety voice.

There were only two weeks left til the band left for tour.

After your conversation with Jake things felt better. The dread hadn’t loomed over you like you assumed it would, and things with Jake were as good as ever, no holds barred anymore. You were quick to tell him your thoughts and feelings, even more so now than you had before, and seemingly, so had Jake.

You worried you’d lose that once he left, though. That it would be something you had to work and build at when you’d get back together.

During Dreams in Gold, you made three shows, and got two weeks with him in the middle of the tour, uninterrupted—which was nice! But it was different than seeing him every day and falling asleep next to him at night.

Today, you were at the studio to go over more details and itinerary for the first leg of performances in the states.

You and Jake showed up only 20 minutes late with matching iced coffees, Sam scoffing when he saw you didn’t bring him one of his own.

“This is what I get for being here on time!” He flopped into the couch and looked at Danny, who was just reentering the room, “They got Scooters!”

Danny’s eyes widened, “That’s so uncool.” He playfully seethed before whipping out his phone and muttering something about delivery and a cookie.

Jake obnoxiously slurps the emptying drink with eyes locked on Sam’s. Sam lurches to his feet and storms over to his brother to snatch the empty cup and throw it in the trash. “Not on my watch.”

Wordlessly you hand Jake yours, still half full, for him to take a sip just as Josh strode in. “I made it! Can we get a time stamp?” He asked the room around him.

“It’s 9:37, Josh.” Aaron marked from the other side of the room as he prepared itemized sheets for everyone. Josh nods with an easy smile. “We were due to meet at 9:00.” Aaron amended, wiping the smug smile off Josh’s face.

“Oh. Well, we’re all here now, right? Let’s start! Whatcha got for us?” Josh leaned on the table and listened intently.

The group gathered around the table and took a look at the papers in front of them, getting handed your own with your name at the top for whatever reason. You miss the expectant look from Jake and Aaron but you read the pages carefully, seeing where this adventure would take Jake this time.

Back through the states, most he’d seen before, and then the countries— the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Portugal— places you’d dreamed of seeing long before you dreamed of Jake Kiszka.

You sigh, softly and dreamily as Aaron talks transport for their European leg; plane rides and first class tickets, excursions to the Louvre and Stonehenge, and lodging and hostels.

“Is the little place we have for our week in France the same one we used for that little getaway we took a couple years ago?” Sam asked with excitement.

Aaron nodded as did Jake, “Yep! Oh, Jake, I put you guys in the empress suite like you asked. I’m still waiting on confirmation at two of the other hotels, but you guys should be set with a master suite wherever we’re staying.” The manager looked from Jake to you as he spoke, your confusion stirring, was there a mistake? Are he and Josh sharing rooms?

Jake looks to you with expectant eyes, as if waiting for your thoughts. He smiles and nudges your shoulder when you don’t answer, “What do you think?”

“About what?” The group breaks into laughter as you look at Jake for an explanation.

“About coming with me.” He took your hand and gave it an encouraging squeeze. You softly gasped and looked over the papers in front of you again, your own agenda highlighted in orange for when the band would be busy.

You look back at him in awe, “Really?” Is all you can muster in a ghost of your voice.

Jake smiled and nodded quickly, “Yeah, of course—I’m tired of leaving you.” He covered your hand with his. “Say you’ll come.”

You nod before you can speak and then kiss him right on the mouth. “I wanna be wherever you are.” You say with a cheek aching smile, a real one stretched wide across your face.

“And I, you.” He agreed, though he knew his words could never convey how much he shared the feeling.

But hopefully… the other surprises he had planned for the tour can say it for him…

This one about Monster from Epic album and Lilia 🥹

This album is a gold mine of inspiration. I can talk about one single sentences of lyrics for one hours. The musical vibes sent you in so many different places. And it have so much different style from one song to another. And it sent me back in my Greek mythology area again. Also, too much Oc's, too much stories, to much crossover possible !

This whole album is my current obssession. The only sad part is that I'm the only one understanding english in my circle of friends and family 🥲 Still trying to convert my younger brother. One day I will take someone in the Epic boat with me. I'm still so grateful to you for making me discover this project 🥹

Yessss, I’m glad you liked the fic 🦋Anonie. I had it in my drafts since the Underworld Album released. And been adding on to it since then when the mood stuck. I had it finished for awhile now, but I don’t know it didn’t feel right post it until yesterday. And behold! I find out the new saga released. The timing is uncanny but greatly appreciated and loved 🥳

The Underworld Album is sooo sooo good and it’s such a Diasomnia core and especially Lilia core Album. The lyrics?? The score?? Ahhhh I can’t even word the way it just hits you in the feels!!

Fun fact, I had/have (haven’t decided what I’m going to do with it) a fic with the Underworld song from that album. It was going to be another Lilia centric fic in the past but technically I got the idea of what I wanted to convey through with the Monster song fic since they share lyrics and all so I might scrap it since I only wrote a few lines. We’ll see. 🤔

But Monster?? Oh that song just spoke to me. Everything just filled that inner part of me. What if I became a monster? Just the idea of what anyone would do to return to their loved one. To see them again. Just the actions they would take? Chef kiss.

And you know, you know Lilia wouldn’t let anything stop him when it came to his family. You know he would give it all. 💞💞

There’s also the OT3 one you sent me with the knight of dawn and Lilia AND IM SHAKING YOU. I want to write it so bad but the stars and my brain haven’t aligned with my hand to type out exactly what I want ABDKSKFNFN

There's this photo with most of the cast, which I think was during the scene with Luzhin at the Crystal Palace...... (not everyone is here) people usually do this sorta thing upon finishing the whole filming...

This makes me wonder if they have a photo of the whole cast together????? I can't find any tho. :((((

Fun Fact:

The scene where Raskolnikov kills the pawnbroker:

There were a lot of malfunctions throughout filming the scene lmao

Vladimir Koshevoy (Сергей Перегудов), who acts as Raskolnikov, swings his axe at the wooden mannequin (there was also a rubber replica of Alyona Ivanova’s head); but the axe broke apart and flung throughout the room.

It's not just that, it's also that as he hits the wood - the make-up artist splashed paint to mimic the blood splatter, but that caused a natural reaction within Koshevoy and he fainted 😭😭😭😭 (this is a fact that is apparently well-known among Russian fans).

He also fainted again in the scene of ‘killing’ Lizaveta. Koshevoy himself said that he got too into character that– even though he knew it was fake blood that poured through mini plastic tubes– he was surprised that it happened so naturally, which had also scared the whole crew. 💀💀💀

(This is the end!!!! I believe I wanted to add some more in the post but I’m not sure now 😭 I might post later in the future… also need to find the sources of which i based the interview on and the story, so i might update this post!)

I did answer this, and it is killing me that I still have the same answer, but that the wip STILL isn't published. Lenn wtf are you doing

No but the first chapter is done, and the second and third are in the hell of beta-reading and final editing. It will come out soon, right ? Right ? I need to get this story out of my head or it will consume me

But basically, I got inspired by two other fics (that are mentionned in this post) with the same premise that Twilight, Wind and Legend are the heroes in Triforce Heroes. Except when they meet again, Twilight and Wind don't recognize Legend, he's angsty about it, and then... A younger Legend arrives as a new hero ?? Now they're a group of ten, and as you can guess Legend is sooo good at pretending he's not bothered. It's fine ! He didn't want to make friends anyway !

(It also does have a proper title now lmao, but I'm keeping it for me for now >:] Also if I don't start posting it by next month please someone bonk me over the head, it's been way too long)

Huh, I don't think I have one. None of my wip feel "unsung" haha, I don't think I posted enough to be sad about one not getting attention, and it is normal for people not to talk about the wips that are only in my drafts lmao

Some of my whumptober maybe ? Trapped in the foxhole flew under the radar a little, but I do get it, because it has tags that are a little more violent than usual and yet hasn't started on the violent part so. Aaaah.

I answered this too ! But mostly a pantser. I found out that when I start plotting, since I get the idea out of my head, sometimes my brain is like "welp, we don't need to write this anymore !"

Who is your favorite character to write, and what do you like about how you portray them?

To the great surprise of absolutely no one, my favorite character to write is Legend. I don't know why, I didn't even play his games a lot contrary to some others, but the character just speaks to me.

One little thing that I like (and will be clearer in other wips) is that when I write in his pov, you (should) understand his thought process and why he says things. But if you take this away, he actually comes off as pretty rude ! I enjoy making him think "this is reasonable to say", and then when he says it, it's.... Not that reasonable lmao

I have an example of what I mean in A cave like a net, chapter 4 :

Legend does empathize with Sky, but then he thinks "he probably doesn't want me to coddle him", so he answers with an attitude.

It makes me a little scared sometimes when I write from other people povs, because then Legend looks like he's just this mean, uncaring dude. He's not ! But when you take away his thoughts, well, you're left with the rude comment !

That's why I also write the chain as being used to it. Here, Four act as a mediator : he makes a little comment, making it more of a joke again, and everyone is happy !

I just. Yeah. Unreliable narrators, socially inept characters, my absolute beloveds <3

And if you think, "aw, it would be interesting to see the chain's reaction when they're not used to it", well. Remember the question about the favorite wip ? I WILL GET IT OUT I NEED TO GET IT OUT RAAAHHHH

I'm a big fan of your works <3 they honestly amaze me so much. i especially adore your world building it's just so ?? scrumptious ?! no seriously it's so good like i want to eat it up along with your characterization. i love how you enhance already existing world's as well as create new ones — not just world's but ways things work and intricacies within intricacies.. you provide such a clear idea that makes picturising it all so much easier and interesting

ive never written before other than some blurbs here and there on my notes app but recently hsr brainrot has been Hitting it lately and i've had way too many thoughts 💭 i was planning on maybe writing a fic.. but it requires insane amount of world building (and ik that's definitely not the right thing to start off on, as a new writer/for your first work but then again ig there is no right and wrong way to do it (?) it's more like my brain power might not support me and i’ll abandon it half way or something 🥲 haha) anyway i was wondering if you have any tips on how to worldbuild or build further on the existing ideas of certain organisations and all that sort.. there's just so many ideas haywiring and i would really love some advice if you don't mind. but no pressure !! sorry if this was too long,,

first off THANK YOU 🥺!!! i appreciate your kind words so much <3 i really enjoy worldbuilding in my own writing and i'm very glad the ideas i bungle up translate well when actually in a story :'^) in my own little brainworld where i daydream, i tend to add details and layers to the original story that i do like... question if i can execute. so it is always nice to hear that they do in fact make it through 😭💓

as for advice!!

anon. so transparently. so REAL-y. if you have the brainworms for a story, even if its big and complicated and a lot to chew on it, just start!!! it is so intimidating truly but there is no better writing fuel than the muse of a story that has captured you. and!! if it does not end up finished, that is totally okay!! i have personally learned some of most valuable lessons writing while working on large pieces that ultimately ended up unfinished.

for more material advice:

when working on fic, i keep a lot of notes in a personal discord server. i have a wip channel and threads for certain fic ideas where i compile plot details, world details, fanart and inspo photos. it's super helpful!!!

one thing that helps me when i have big grand worlds in my head and i need to get them down and written is, instead of choosing to take a bite out of the whole world itself, i try to choose just a snippet or event and build around that. for example, in cicatrix, you get LOTS of lore abt calibrators and their relationship to the luofu, but plenty of what i had spinning around in my noggin didn't make it down. it wasn't relevant to the immediate story, event, or conflict, so it stayed unspoken. however, i think having really rich background going INTO writing these snippets of a larger universe helps fill things out and seem more like... lived in.

i will say. so indispensable. BETA READERS. the first few drafts of cicatrix where so ROUGH when it came to world building. i had the whole lore of calibrators and the luofu in my head, but getting it down clearly and in a way that made enough sense to an unknowing audience took a few read throughs and feedback by some lovely friends of mine. i highly recommend tracking down someone to read over your pieces and provide feedback on the things you're worried about!!!

and like... perhaps a little corny. but. believe in yourself. we are our own greatest critics, and the best attitude to cultivate toward the craft is that you can... do it. you just can. innately anon, regardless of experience, you can create the story and world you want to. bolstering a sense of confidence goes FAR esp if you end up writing a longer piece!!!

this is the most finished and polished of the chapters in my book- i'll probably be posting poetry for the next week or so while I keep working on it. I expect to be done drafting the book in a few months- it's all coming together, I have my little checklists ready, I know what goes in each chapter, and most of the chapters are drafted! There's still a few blank chapters, and a few chapters need transition chapters between them, but like,

it's *really* happening. I might be publishing my first novel by the end of the year, or sometime next year. At the very least, it'll be finished. and that's so so so cool. i'm so proud, and a little bit elated, as it's the culmination of learning and effort poured in to the one thing that has kept me together despite my stage of life and its struggles.

and the answer is uh ?? turning on spotify ?? apparently ?? idk why this works but something about music makes my brain thaw and then i'm like "okay, it's up time :')"

so i rose! efficiently, even! at a reasonable hour too! and then did all of the chores and things that I expect myself to do for the proper maintenance of the self! and it was lovely. and not so grueling.

to live life is not so scary as it seems, methinks. (oo, what a terrible word, but using it is some guilty, sick, and twisted pleasure of mine).

A chaptered fantasy AU. I have so many chapters written (unedited) but most days I’m not really feeling it 😩 It’s been sitting in my drafts for forever.

I’ve had a lot of people in comments say that my character analysis is great and that way I can bring them to life in a realistic way? And that I can portray them and their thoughts and emotions really well 👉🏼👈🏼

What are your writing weaknesses?

Definitely the language. I’ve tried writing in German but it’s horrible. It’s so cringeworthy and I can’t even imagine putting that on a platform even though I’m native and obviously have alllll the vocab skills I’d need. But English is only my second language and I’m still struggling, sometimes so much that I can’t even sit down and write because I get so frustrated.

I have to say, I can't tell you how many times I've reread that 'Armand has a sad/low day' A03 piece of yours -- truly it's exceptional. Small things about it always stick with me. I really like the nuance with which you present Armand especially <3! You do Daniel great too <3, I have re-read that one a lot, it's always so great especially in terms of atmosphere. I also finally just realized that the Daddy piece is fiction [not just a comic, I mean], I hadn't figured it out from the summary line for some reason, and it's very enjoyable, love it! So funny <3 Also I just read the new 'low day' piece and it's SO good. I love the way you have Armand truly be himself, with all the complexities of that [ethics etc] -- so good!!!

Silver Lining is one of the fics I'm the most proud of, so I'm always delighted to hear that it resonates with others!

It just occurred to me yesterday that Daniel’s flippant S1 line about Claudia not being held enough in between ritualistic murders also describes Armand down to a T. 🥲

I think 99% of the problems TVC vamps have and create for each other boils down to a deep-seated sense of loneliness, fear of that loneliness, and the desire to belong/be loved.

I think the show is doing such a gorgeous job of exploring that in Armand this season (in a just world this season would sweep awards season just on Assad's control of his facial expressions alone!) and I really needed to give him a hug after watching episode 4.

RE: Daddy.

I'd literally just finished the first draft of the fic when @verimuru and I got to talking about doing a potential collab. Based on their previous comics, I thought Daddy would work well with their style of storytelling and they agreed!

I really wanted to highlight the comic when we posted it, but I also wanted to include the 'written-out' version, because:

1) it was there and I liked how it turned out, but mostly

2) it's almost like a BTS feature in that it shows some of Daniel’s internal dialogue and how that informed certain decisions RE: the art AND shows you which elements were added while we were working on the comic. Armand really being physically in Daniel’s face, him pulling Daniel into his lap, and the way they're visually almost at the club already on pages 7 and 8 were all Verimuru's ideas, and IMO those choices elevated the storytelling SO MUCH.

I mean, 70yo Daniel Molloy literally sitting in Armand’s lap just before putting on the very expensive outfit Armand picked out for him and then saying (paraphrased), "Where do you get off suggesting I'm your sugar baby?" is just so completely hilarious to me. 😂

I've said it once and I'll say it a million times: working with Verimuru was an absolute joy! (And you probably haven't seen the last of us yet.)

Again these lyrics are from Alina's perspective to the Darkling. When you hear them you'll know what I mean.😏

(ESPECIALLY THAT BRIDGE IS SO ALINA ABOUT THE DARKLING)

3) Terrence Loves You - Lana Del Rey

(I think you, people, have already guessed that I'm a HUGE Lana Del Rey fan😭)

This song speaks about loneliness. Your love is gone and you're left behind trying to fill the void. This beautiful song is Alina after Aleksander's death in R&R. The lyrics fit her grief.

Especially the lyric "But I lost myself when I lost you" hits too close to home, knowing how she lost her powers and basically herself after she lost him. And the lyric "Trying to transmit, can you hear me? Ground Control to Major Tom, can you hear me all night long?" makes me think of Alina trying to communicate with Aleksander from the other side🥲

Also the lyric "Isn't it strange how you're not here with me?" (*silently sobbing*)

This song is Alina mourning.

(A little fun fact, this is the song I put on my earphones after I finished R&R to cope with the Darkling's death. Needless to say I cried even more with this).

4) Cherry - Lana Del Rey

This song talks about a toxic love that is so catastrophic to the point that you fall to pieces both from the intense love and the burning toxicity. Instead of flourishing from this love, you're crumbling.

In other words, Darklina🙂😭

It doesn't only give me strong Darklina vibes but also strong Grishaverse trilogy vibes.

To be honest, I neither like nor listen to this song.

I have so many things to say here.

First of all, it can be interpreted both by Alina's perspective and Aleksander's.

The spoken, opening lines ("I don't belong in the world...") remind me of these two. Because they both felt like outsiders. Like they didn't belong anywhere. Like no one could understand them.

Secondly, the lines "But I still get lonely..." and "It hurts to love you. But I still love you..." are them. I just can't explain it.🥲

10) Within You - David Bowie

The man. The myth. The legend. David Bowie.

The song was written for the movie "Labyrinth" which I have already recommended to my fellow Darklina friends. The relationship and dynamic between Jareth and Sarah is DARKLINA CODED AS FUCK.

ahhhhhh, you see, i had the urge to write about these oc’s i had and it took all of my writing inspo for the past few months 🥲 i have so many things in my tumblr drafts that i just need to finish, and i think i will be able to now that i finished my non-fanfiction related writing project (like i genuinely just randomly had the urge to write a romantasy book and it’s done and 120k words and idek what to do with it. i don’t think i’m good enough to ever be published so i’ll probably just keep it in the drafts forever <3 i simply just had to get it out of my system, but i digress)

i’m currently in the process of making a decision for the future of my works ☹️☹️ after the blog deleting incident i just don’t rlly know where else to go with my blog here on blr anymore, i just feel a little demotivated and lost with my direction, so the current works may or may not be put on the back burner as a second priority to other works which i’ll talk about in a sec 🫶

if you guys didn’t know, one of my favourite authors on wattpad was the user baesuzi before she deactivated — i’m not sure if you guys know of her, but she was a poly writer who had so many good works before she disappeared from wattpad, and seeing how much i miss her works inspired me to consider focusing on finishing a poly fic with an actual plot line 👀👀

i already plotted out fate, vampire/rejected soulmate au as well as the rewrite for criminal love (the mafia au) and i think you guys would rlly like those ones bc of the elements included in them (and mila happens to somehow be in them) 🫶🫶🫶

it would be easier as well to write smth with an end in mind, compared to this 8th member au which is just continuous, and i would like o feel the satisfaction of completing smth you know?? so we’ll see how it goes but lmk if you guys have any opinions, bc i’m open to ideas - but just so you know, i don’t think i could ever fully drop this fic. it’s too close to my heart to let go of 🩷🩷
