Best thing I took with me from the job so far was the realisation that I can just wear nitrile gloves WHENEVER. I don't HAVE to touch the yucky substance. Wear gloves.

Now I have a box of gloves at home (from the supermarket, not from work duh) and put them on WHENEVER.

Sorting the old Playmobil sets my mother gave me from when we were all kids (because she wanted to throw them on the garbage......) and they're so. Filthy. With my mother's dog's hair. And dandruff. And just general filth. ;_; Gloves. Gloves. Gloves, my love.
