Hypothetically
Chronically single, you suggest a pact with your best friend to start a family together when you turn forty.
Pairing: Spencer Reid x bau fem reader
Category: fluff/comfort
Warnings: marriage and baby talk, reader is insecure because she feels left out
A/n: This is my entry for the kid fic challenge by @imagining-in-the-margins! This was like a breath of fresh air from all the smut I’ve been writing
"Do you want to have a baby with me?"
The scalding coffee burned his tongue as your question lingered in the air. Spencer cleared his throat awkwardly and patted his chest, his eyes drifting towards you. "Uh... what?"
"Hypothetically," you replied, the tap of your pen echoing against the round table between you. "It's like a pact. If we're both still single in the future, we get married to one another and, well, start a family together."
Spencer felt the clamminess of his palms as he set his mug down, trying to steady himself. He considered you as one of the closest people in his life, if not his best friend, and he was accustomed to your random questions, but this sudden topic of conversation seemed to strike a nerve.
"Where..." he began, wiping his palm along his pants. "...where is this coming from?"
You shrugged casually, the tapping of your pen momentarily ceasing. "Just a thought. I mean, we're both at that age where these things start to cross our minds, right?"
Spencer swallowed, trying to push down the unease rising in his chest. "Yeah, I guess so," he muttered, but as he studied you, he noticed the tension in your shoulders. "Are you okay?"
Your gaze flickered away for a moment before you sighed, slumping against your chair.
"I have a wedding coming up this weekend." Spencer frowned, not understanding what you were trying to say. You continued, "And another one next week, and guess what? Two of my cousins are getting married next month."
"What does that have to do with...?" His voice trailed off as realization dawned on him. "Ah, I see."
But you weren't finished. Somehow, the thoughts that had lingered in your mind for the past few days spilled out right then and there, in the middle of broad daylight when you were supposed to be focusing on the case you were working on.
"And a close friend I went to high school with just gave birth while another friend from college announced she's two months pregnant. And look at me," you exclaimed, your arms flying around. "No wedding. No pregnancy. Spencer, I don't even have a boyfriend, heck, I forgot what it's like to go out on a date!"
He watched as your brow furrowed into a frown, and although your demeanor was all over the place, he couldn't help but notice how you still managed to look pretty.
"Spence?" You asked, nudging his leg with your foot under the table. "Are you listening to me?"
He blinked, momentarily pulled from his thoughts by your voice. "Sorry," he replied. "I'm listening."
You gave him a skeptical look, but the tension in your shoulders seemed to ease slightly as you leaned back in your chair.
"I just... I don't know, I feel like I'm left behind." You sighed, running a hand through your hair. "I mean, I'm happy for my friends and all, but sometimes it feels like everyone's moving forward but me. Like I'm stuck in this... this rut."
Spencer wasn't sure how to respond. On one hand, he knew how it felt to want something that seemed out of reach, but on the other hand, he felt like it wasn't his place to offer advice when he wasn't even sure what the future held for him.
"I get it," he finally said, trying to gather his thoughts. The least he could do was try to offer some comfort. "But just because you haven't reached those milestones yet doesn't mean you won't get there eventually."
"But what if it doesn't happen? What if I'm still all alone and nobody loves me when I'm gray and old?"
He frowned at you. "I'd still love you when you're gray and old."
"Platonically. You love me as much as you love JJ. Or Emily. Or Penny, or even Morgan." You leaned over the table. "I want to be loved passionately by someone who is head over heels for me, who can't imagine a life without me. I want to feel that kind of happiness."
His frown deepened. "I don't think you should find happiness in another person."
"You're missing the point," you groaned, crossing your arms. "I'm not saying I want to depend on someone else for my happiness. But is it too much to ask for someone to share it with? To feel like I'm someone's everything and not just another friend in the group?"
His expression softened as he listened, a sense of familiarity washing over him. He remembered feeling the same thing once, or maybe more than once; he wasn't sure. He had lost count of the times he felt his life was falling short.
But he realized the more he thought about the why—why was he so different? why couldn't he find love?—the more he felt worthless, and he hated that. So what was the best thing he did to ignore those thoughts?
Bury himself in work, because to him, pushing those feelings aside was easier than confronting them. But now, as he looked at you, it felt like he was seeing his own reflection and your words hit him harder than he expected.
"No," he quietly agreed. "It's not too much to ask for."
"I guess what I'm trying to say is... I'm tired of waiting for life to happen to me." Your gaze slowly met his. "So I came up with a plan."
His throat felt dry as he recalled how this conversation started in the first place. "The... baby plan?"
You nodded enthusiastically, sliding into the seat next to him.
"Think about it. If we're both still single when we're..." You paused, furrowing your brow as you did a quick calculation. "Forty? Yeah, let's say we're both still single when we're forty, with no partners, or like, no friends with benefits?"
You shook your head.
“Just... with no one in our lives—we get married. You and me."
He blinked, trying to process your proposal. It was unexpected, to say the least, but there was a strange logic to it that he couldn't quite shake. The idea of marrying his best friend as a backup plan was both absurd and oddly comforting.
"But what about... love?" he asked cautiously. "Wasn't that what you wanted?"
You paused, considering his question before responding. "I mean, I don't think it's impossible," you said, leaning back in your seat. "Haven't you ever heard of the saying, 'Marry your best friend'?"
His gaze lingered on you, his heart beating hard against his chest. "You're saying that we can fall in love?"
Your eyes met his, and a small smile tugged at the corners of your lips. "Who knows?" you replied softly. "Stranger things have happened."
Spencer shouldn't entertain the possibility. After all, who knew what could happen in the future? It seemed like an absurd thought, but as he stared at you, it was hard not to imagine a life with you as his wife.
He imagined you in a white dress, walking down the aisle towards him with a radiant smile on your face. He pictured you both in the house you had just bought, dancing joyfully around the empty rooms as you unpacked boxes together.
Then thoughts of you being pregnant with his child—or maybe even children—filled his mind, and he envisioned a future where your kids would run around in the backyard with a pet dog trailing behind.
And then he considered the prospect of growing old with you, watching as your children eventually started families of their own while you found comfort in each other's company. All of these possibilities didn't seem so bad, because if anyone could understand him on a deep level, it was definitely you.
Maybe this crazy plan of yours wasn't so crazy after all.
"I... I guess it's not impossible," he finally admitted. Then, not wanting to seem too eager, he added, "Hypothetically speaking."
"Of course," you replied with a smile. "Hypothetically speaking."
Suddenly feeling flustered by your gaze, Spencer looked away and focused on his coffee, bringing the mug to his lips. Then you heard laughter and footsteps drawing closer, and soon Derek and Emily entered the room. Their eyes immediately landed on the two of you, sitting closely together at the table.
"What are you children whispering about?" Derek's voice interrupted, his eyebrows raised curiously as he glanced between you.
You didn't miss a beat. “Spencer and I are having a baby together."
Spencer choked on his coffee, his eyes widening in shock as he coughed and sputtered. You quickly moved to pat his back.
"Well, we're gonna get married first, right, Spence?" you added with a grin, glancing at him expectantly.
Spencer finally managed to regain his composure, clearing his throat awkwardly as he shot you a sideways glance. "Um, yeah, of course," he stammered, his cheeks still tinged with embarrassment. "Hypothetically."
Derek and Emily exchanged bemused glances, a silent conversation passing between them. Emily's curiosity seemed to win out as she lifted a hand, turning her attention back to you. "Care to explain?"
"We were discussing our backup plan."
"Backup plan?" Derek echoed.
"Yeah," you replied with a nod. "In case neither of us finds the right person by the time we're, oh, I don't know, forty or so, we figured we'd marry each other and start a family."
Derek placed a hand over his chest, feigning hurt. "And you chose Pretty Boy over me?"
"I'm not going to compete with all your lady friends," you shot back, rising from your seat. "Come on, Spence, let's grab some lunch and brainstorm baby names."
He stood up, giving you a pointed look.
"Or do you want to discuss how we'd make those babies in the future?"
"Well, I was thinking of Amelia if it's a girl..."
You grinned, linking your arm through his before guiding him towards the door. Derek and Emily observed the natural closeness between you two, how you were practically clinging to him and how he seemed to be comfortable with it.
Derek turned to Emily as you disappeared down the hallway. "Do you think they'd actually get married when they hit forty?"
Emily shook her head. "Nope," she replied confidently. "I give it a year until he's already down on one knee."
He laughed, nodding in agreement. With the way Spencer's gaze lingered on you with unmistakable affection, it seemed like it was only a matter of time.

hey lover! series
HE DIDN’T EXPECT TO COME ACROSS IT. But it was that one afternoon on his day off, while Ryomen Sukuna was out running errands, he found himself finding a piece of you. It was just a regular day for him, one where he indulges himself as he strolls through the supermarket, casually picking up snacks and drinks he wanted.
He doesn;t get to do it often because of how busy he is. But when he has the time, he indulges it and enjoys it a lot. He thinks if you were with him, it would have been more enjoyable, though. You liked going and doing mundane things like this, as much as he does. He noticed that a lot since you both were always going out and eating together after shoots in Tokyo.
It’s been a few weeks since Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 did the final reshoots. And he thinks he missed you. You both texted a lot last night, sure. But it’s a different thing when you both are together.
But right now you are enjoying the holiday you’re taking. And judging from the photos you sent him so far, you were happily enjoying it. From what you told him last night, you said you were waiting for your flight so you could visit family back home. You won't be back in New York until maybe next week.
Ryomen Sukuna could only sigh at himself. He has become so fond of your company that he can’t help but crave even more of it. He supposes that it’s just how good you were with him, how good for him. He hadn’t really had anyone be that good to him, he supposed. You’ve just brightened up his day to day, even if it was just to think of you.
As he turns the corner into the magazine aisle, something catches his scarlet eye and he stops— it was one of those glossy magazines, one that were for high fashion brands. In the front of its bright poppy cover featuring the ever beautiful shining you with a stunning smile, the headline reading, “Y/N L/N: Rising Star of Jujutsu Kaisen!”
His first thought is a mix of pride and mischief. He couldn’t help it. You were everywhere. And he just can’t help but feel warm about it. “Well, well, what do we have here?” he mutters to himself. Grinning, he picks up the magazine, flipping through it.
I should probably promote this. Doll worked hard on this, hm? he thinks, already plotting a plan. He pulls out his phone and goes live on social media, knowing his fans would be eager to join him for this impromptu session.
“Hey, everyone! So, I’m at the supermarket, and guess what I just found?” he announces, holding up the magazine for the camera, your face shining brightly on the cover. “Really pretty picture the editor chose really. I really love this one. I think everyone can agree!”
The chat explodes with comments.
“OMG, Y/N!”
“IS THAT A MAGAZINE?!”
“CAN WE GET A CLOSE-UP?!”
"MY WIFEEEEE SHE LOOKS SO GOOD!"
"CAN YOU FIGHT SUKUNA???"
"OH MY GOD, ONE CHANCE PLEASE PLEASEEE Y/N"
Sukuna chuckles, basking in the chaos as he starts to read some of the article aloud, his voice teasing. “Let’s see what the article has to say about my favorite rising star. Let’s read it together.” he begins, pretending to be a serious news anchor.
“‘Y/N has taken the entertainment world by storm with her captivating performances and undeniable charm, both on screen and on stage.’ Wow, they really nailed it, huh?” He glances at the camera, a playful smirk on his face. “They must’ve been taking notes from me. I mean, she is spending time with the best.”
The comments continue to flood in, fans egging him on.
“THIS IS SO CUTE! SUKUNA, KEEP PRAISING YOUR WOMAN OMG!”
“Please stop, I’m dying! He’s this love struck?”
“Is he flirting with her through a magazine?”
"He's never beating the 'im obssessed with y/n' allegations omg???"
"If my partner isn't like this, i genuinely don't want him, you guys???"
"How is Sukuna real? Like, how is he the only man to ever exist?"
Sukuna can’t help but lean into the banter. “Oh, it gets better. ‘Her recent work in Jujutsu Kaisen has captured the hearts of many, including veteran actor and co-star Ryomen Sukuna.’” He pauses dramatically, pretending to think deeply. “How does that feel? Being able to capture me, Y/N?”
The comments explode again.
“OH NO HE DIDN’T! RYOMEN SUKUNA, YOU’RE INSANE FOR THIS?????”
“IS HE FLIRTING?! GUYS GUYS CHAT IS THIS REAL????”
“THEY ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER! EVEN WHEN THEY’RE APART OMG”
"GOD PLEASE GIVE ME SOMETHING LIKE THIS PLEASE!!!"
"HIS EYES ARE JUST SO FULL OF LOVE WHILE STARING AT HER PICTURE OH MY GOD IM GONNA THROW UP???"
"HE'S DEFINITELY BUYING THE MAGAZINE AND STARE AT IT FOR A WHILE CAUSE???"
He continues reading, “Known for her ability to bring depth to her characters, Y/N is also a self-proclaimed cat mom.” He raises an eyebrow, grinning at the camera. “Noodle better watch out; he’s not the only one who’s going to be in the spotlight!”
Sukuna reads a little more, then leans back, looking directly into the camera. “Honestly, if you’re not following her yet, what are you doing? My doll’s the star of the century! She’s talented, funny, and—” he pretends to whisper with a grin. “—way cuter than I am.”
The comments go wild, with fans practically screaming in excitement.
“HE SAID IT! HE CALLED HER MY DOLL???”
“HE’S SO SUPPORTIVE OF HER OMGGGGGG!!!!”
“CAN YOU GUYS JUST DATE ALREADY?!”
"THEY'RE DEFINITELY DATING GOD IM JUST???"
"GIVE US THE CONFIRMATION FOR THE WEDDING ALREADY???"
"I SHIP I AM THE CAPTAIN OF THIS SHIPPPPPP!!!!"
As he wraps up the live session, Sukuna flashes a charming smile. “So, go pick up this magazine, check out Y/N, and maybe throw in a little love for me too while you’re at it. And don’t forget to tune into the next episode of Jujutsu Kaisen! See you later, everyone!”
With that, he ends the live stream, still chuckling to himself as he walks through the store, clutching the magazine. Little did he know, this playful moment would send fans into a frenzy, cementing your duo’s chemistry even further in the eyes of the public—and leaving you with a smile when you catch wind of his little stunt.
Later that evening, you’re lounging at home, scrolling through your social media feed, when you notice your notifications blowing up. Curious, you tap on your profile to find a flood of comments and tags about Sukuna’s recent live stream.
“Did you see Sukuna’s live? He was reading that magazine about you!”
“I’m crying! He’s so supportive! #Y/NandSukunaForever”
“He basically said he’s in love with you. Can you two just get married already?”
"Y/N, please. give him a shot already. That man is too in love with you."
"This man is doing promos for you like he's trying to save the planet. He's a good man, Savanah!"
"He's literally crazy about you, like??? Stopping in a supermarket to do a live to promote your magazine??? He's in love with you???"
You can’t help but grin, your heart racing at the thought of Ryomen Sukuna casually promoting you to all his fans. You scroll through the clips of his live, laughing at his playful banter and over-the-top expressions. You couldn’t help but just feel happiness beyond comprehension, knowing someone takes care of you even from afar.
Suddenly, a direct message pops up from him. Did you catch the live, doll?
You quickly type back, I did! You’re ridiculous! I can’t believe you read that whole thing.
His reply is immediate. Had to promote my favorite, cutest rising star! Can’t let Noodle take all the love in this three soul family, don’t you think?
You chuckle, imagining Sukuna strutting through the supermarket, holding your magazine like it’s the Holy Grail. What’s next? Are you going to host my fan club?
A few moments later, he replies, Absolutely! First meeting will be at our next sushi date. Wear something nice, doll.
Your cheeks flush at the thought. Then you better look sharp too, bub.
You just know he was smirking when he sent you the reply. When you opened it, your face turned even redder. Oh, of course, doll. I like making sure I look pretty enough to get your praises and kisses. You’re my doll, after all.
You could feel butterflies for a moment, and for a good while, you were just trying to keep yourself together. You couldn’t look like this while you were having dinner with your parents.
As the conversation continues, you can’t help but feel a warm flutter of excitement. Not only is he supporting you, but he’s also finding creative ways to keep the teasing and flirting alive in front of everyone.
The next day, you decide to take advantage of the buzz. You ended up in a book store where they had your magazines. You post a cute selfie of yourself holding the magazine, your expression playful and bright.
Thanks to my bubs @RyomenSukuna for the promotion! If you haven’t checked out this issue yet, what are you waiting for?
Almost instantly, your comments explode.
“YOU LOOK AMAZING! WE STANNNNNN”
“GET IT, GIRL! WE LOVE TO SEE IT!!!!”
“HE’S NOT WRONG, Y/N IS A QUEEN!”
"Y/N DOMINATION FR FR!!!"
"SUKUNA CAN YOU FIGHT CAN YOU FIGHT SUKUNA???"
"NAH CAUSE IF Y/N AND YOU AREN'T TOGETHER, IM SHOOTING MY SHOT!!!"
A few hours later, you see another tweet trending: “Sukuna’s magazine live should win an award for Best Promotion. Guys, if you’re not doing this for your girls, we don’t want you!”
You can’t help but laugh, picturing him reading through those thirsty tweets like a comedic genius.
Later that evening, as you prepare for bed, your phone buzzes again. It’s a video from Sukuna, looking slightly mischievous.
“Hey, everyone! Just wanted to follow up on my earlier live stream. The magazine is flying off the shelves, and I’m not saying it’s all because of my charming face, but… Okay, it’s mostly because of Y/N. You know how it is. Now, don’t just stop there—go buy that issue! And let’s be real, you’re doing it for me, but mostly for her! So, keep giving my doll all your love, okay? Thanks everyone! I’ll see you in the next live tweet for Jujutsu Kaisen!”
He winks at the camera, and you can’t help but smile. He’s just so endearing when he gets into these promotional modes. The next few weeks, it’s all the media could talk about.
They just catch wind of the buzz surrounding your magazine feature and Sukuna’s live stream. They keep getting more and more curious about you and Sukuna. After all, both of you were a mystery to them.
You’re both invited to a morning talk show to discuss the recent developments, and you can already sense the excitement and chaos that awaits. As you both sit on the couch, the host teases you both about the “flirting” and “couple energy” that everyone seems to be picking up on.
“You two are definitely giving off some serious vibes!” the host says, leaning in. “Sukuna, what do you have to say about the ongoing speculation?”
Sukuna grins, leaning back. “I mean, can you blame them? Who wouldn’t want to be with someone as talented and cute as Y/N? Can you blame everyone for being as dazzled about her as me?”
The audience erupts into cheers, and you can’t help but blush.
“Okay, but I’m just grateful for him.” you chime in, trying to regain composure. You grinned at him. “Sukuna’s just really is such a great supportive soul for me.… And such a darling to me. You always are, aren’t you, bub? Dramatic too, but well. Love you all the same!”
“Dramatic? Me? Never.” he replies, feigning innocence while smirking. “I’m just here to make sure everyone knows who the real star is. And well, who the real star of my day to day is, don’t you think?”
The banter continues, and by the end of the show, your dynamic has captured the hearts of viewers everywhere. Social media is ablaze with clips of your interview, further fueling the speculation and excitement.
As you leave the studio, you can’t help but think about how much fun this whole experience has been. The teasing, the playful banter, and Sukuna’s unabashed support have created a whirlwind of excitement that you never expected.
Later, you check your phone one last time before bed. A new tweet catches your eye: “Sukuna and Y/N have officially made it onto my ‘favorite couples’ list. The world needs more of this!”
With a smile on your face, you finally drift off to sleep, dreaming of what other adventures await you and Sukuna in this unexpected and thrilling journey together.
➽──────────❥
YOU WERE STILL SLEEPY. But well, what could you do? Life goes on, with how your schedule is today. The day of the big fashion show had finally arrived, and excitement buzzed in the air as you and Sukuna prepared to strut down the runway.
The energy backstage was palpable—models hurrying to and from makeup stations, designers giving last-minute instructions, and the rhythmic clack of high heels against the glossy floor echoing in the room.
Sukuna, leaning casually against the wall, shot you a knowing glance. He had that smirk on his face, the one that hinted at his unshakable confidence. He was effortlessly cool, and you couldn't help but feed off that energy.
The theme of the show was glamorous rebellion—a fusion of elegance and edge, where bold designs and striking details were the focus. You were dressed in a breathtaking ensemble that turned heads even before the show began.
A sleek, figure-hugging dress with shimmering embellishments, its dramatic cut-outs giving you just the right mix of sophistication and daring. The heels you wore? Absolutely lethal—sky-high stilettos that elongated your figure, giving you the sensation that you could conquer not just the runway, but the world.
Meanwhile, Sukuna, in a custom-tailored suit that hugged his broad shoulders and accentuated his muscular build, was the perfect counterpart. The deep crimson of his suit jacket contrasted sharply against his black shirt, and the subtle metallic details gleamed under the runway lights. He exuded power and charisma, each step deliberate and commanding.
As you both stepped onto the runway, the atmosphere changed. The lights flashed in rhythm with the music, casting you and Sukuna in a dazzling, almost surreal glow. The crowd erupted into cheers, their excitement infectious.
The music pulsed through your veins, and with Sukuna by your side, you felt invincible. His smirk widened as he caught a few admiring gazes from the audience, and with each stride, the energy between you both grew, palpable and electrifying.
Each step was flawless. The click of your heels against the runway, perfectly timed with Sukuna's strides, created a symphony of dominance.
You could feel eyes on you, admiration and awe blending with envy, but none of that mattered. In that moment, it was just you and Sukuna—a force to be reckoned with. He glanced at you from the corner of his eye, a mischievous glint playing in his gaze, as if daring you to outshine him.
But this wasn’t a competition. It was an effortless partnership, the two of you ruling the runway together. Every turn, every pose, was perfectly synchronized, as though you had rehearsed this a hundred times over.
The lights continued to flicker, cameras flashing from every direction, immortalizing this moment. And as you reached the end of the runway, Sukuna extended his hand to you in a gentlemanly yet teasing manner. You took it, lifting your chin slightly, knowing that together, you had owned the night.
But halfway down the runway, disaster struck. One of your heels snapped, sending you wobbling dangerously to one side. You gasped, struggling to maintain your balance as you tried to recover. Just as you thought you might tumble, Sukuna swiftly reached out, his grip firm around your waist.
“Got you, doll!” he exclaimed, pulling you closer to him as he steadied you. The crowd gasped, and in that split second, you realized you were more grateful than embarrassed.
With a quick wink and a playful flourish, Sukuna helped you regain your composure, but the damage was done—your heel was officially broken. You could feel the adrenaline rush as you both finished the walk, the crowd cheering wildly, clearly enamored by the unexpected moment.
After the show, backstage was a flurry of activity. You hopped on one foot, trying to assess the damage to your broken heel when Sukuna, still riding the high of the show, turned to you. “You know, you could always go for a more comfortable look, doll.” he joked, gesturing toward his own stylish shoes.
You rolled your eyes, laughing. “And give up my fashion moment? Never!”
But as you tried to walk towards the exit, it became clear that you weren’t going to make it far without some help. Sensing your struggle, Sukuna stepped in, effortlessly scooping you up into his arms.
“Let’s get you to the car, fashionista.” he said with a playful grin, carrying you like a princess, drawing surprised looks from the crew and other models.
As you both exited the venue, a photographer snapped a picture of the moment. You could hear the clicking of cameras as people captured the scene—Sukuna, the effortlessly cool actor, carrying you, the fabulous rising star.
That single picture ended up circulating online like wildfire. The caption read: “Is this the most romantic moment of the fashion show? Sukuna carrying Y/N after her heel broke!”
The fan reactions were immediate and overwhelming.
“OMG, I can’t handle this cuteness! He genuinely loves her so much!”
“HE CARRIED HER! SOMEONE CALL THE AMBULANCE, I CAN’T BREATHE!”
“Y/N is literally living my dream. Sukuna is such a gentleman!”
You couldn’t help but smile as you read through the tweets, watching the fan base collectively lose their minds over the moment. You glanced up at Sukuna, who was now scrolling through his phone, clearly amused by the frenzy.
“Look at them go, doll.” he chuckled, a mix of pride and mischief in his eyes. “They’re all acting like we just starred in a rom-com.”
“Maybe we should consider it, bub.” you teased back, leaning your head against his shoulder as he carried you toward the car. “I mean, we both get the same rom-com lead offers. We might as well try.”
“Hm, I’ll think about it.”
“You better!”
As you reached the vehicle, Sukuna gently set you down, but not before the paparazzi snapped more pictures, capturing the laughter and playful banter between you both. You felt like the luckiest person in the world, surrounded by glitz and glamor, but even more, you cherished these moments with him.
Later that night, as you sat together scrolling through the flood of posts about the fashion show, Sukuna turned to you, a smirk dancing on his lips. “So, you think I should carry you everywhere now?”
You laughed, nudging him playfully. “Only if you promise to be this charming every time.”
“Deal, doll.” he replied with a sly smirk on his face. “But only if I get a kiss each and every time.”
You returned his sly smile. “You drive a heavy bargain, you know?”
“Well, I like good compensation, doll.”
“Hm. I’ll think about it, darling.”
And just like that, another adventure in this whirlwind of a journey began, one where fans eagerly awaited every twist and turn of your ever-evolving story.
The following days were a whirlwind of activity, with the aftermath of the fashion show still buzzing across social media. Every time you opened your phone, there were new memes, edits, and posts highlighting Sukuna’s chivalrous act of carrying you out.
One particularly popular meme featured a split image: on one side, a picture of you in your stunning outfit with the broken heel, and on the other, a screenshot of Sukuna’s smirk as he effortlessly carried you away. The caption read, “When you break a heel, but your knight in shining armor has your back.”
You couldn’t help but laugh as you scrolled through the threads filled with comments like, “Where do I sign up for a carry from Sukuna?” and “No, but I need someone to love me like this. I need someone to lovingly help me in my fashion emergencies!”
“Looks like you’ve become a trendsetter, doll.” Sukuna teased, plopping down next to you on the couch. “Maybe we should make this a regular thing—fashion shows and heel emergencies.”
“Only if you promise to always be there to catch me, darling.” you shot back, smirking.
As you both continued to scroll through the chaos, an idea struck you. “We should do a follow-up interview about the fashion show! Imagine how much the fans would love to hear us talk about it, especially the heel incident.”
Sukuna raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “You think they’d want to hear about our dramatic moment on the runway? You falling apart and me swooping in to save the day?”
“Absolutely!” You nodded, enthusiasm bubbling up. “I mean, it’s practically a rom-com waiting to happen. Plus, we can spend time together and promote our upcoming work together!”
“Alright, I’m in. But only if you let me wear those ridiculous heels next time….so you know, you can catch me too, doll.” he grinned, nudging you.
You laughed out loud. “Alright, darling. Let’s find you a pair when we go shopping today.”
“Oh, that’s going to be a challenge then.”
“Hm, why not? It’s fun when we’re together in challenges!”
The next day, you both headed to the studio for the interview. As you settled into your seats, the host couldn’t help but chuckle when he saw you both. “So, the world has been going crazy over your little ‘heel disaster’ at the recent fashion show. Sukuna, what was going through your mind when you scooped Y/N up?”
Sukuna leaned back with a playful grin. “Honestly? I just thought it was a great opportunity to show off my impressive muscles and save the day. Plus, someone needed to make sure she didn’t fall on her face in front of everyone. I’d do anything for my doll, right here, you know?”
You laughed, nudging him with your elbow. “He’s so humble, isn’t he?Like, darling — come and get your credit too! It was more like a dramatic rescue scene, complete with the swoon-worthy soundtrack.”
The interview continued, with the two of you sharing laughs and stories about your experiences. Fans in the comments couldn’t get enough of the chemistry, throwing out heart emojis and excited remarks.
“Do you think you two will collaborate on a fashion line next?” one viewer asked, prompting a wave of excitement among the audience.
“Maybe we’ll do a ‘Y/N & Sukuna’ collection, won’t we, darling?” you said, leaning in. “You know, something chic but also… practical for when you break your heels!”
Sukuna feigned offense, placing a hand over his heart. “Practical? I’m all about the drama! But I could see us doing something fun. Maybe some ‘Sukuna-approved’ footwear that won’t break under pressure? I think you’d love that, doll.”
As the interview was winding down, the host leaned in with a mischievous smile and asked the question that everyone had been waiting for: “So, any truth to the rumors that you two are dating?”
You barely had time to process it before you and Sukuna exchanged a look. Without missing a beat, both of you burst into uncontrollable laughter, the kind where you had to clutch your stomach and wipe away tears. Sukuna’s laugh? A deep, rumbling sound that somehow made the entire situation even funnier.
“I mean, who knows?” you said, still giggling as you tried to regain composure. “We care a lot for each other, though. But, you know, that’s our business!” You flashed a playful wink at the camera, trying to keep things light, but it was clear you were having too much fun with the moment. "Though, who wouldn’t want a guy who carries you when your heel breaks? My darling here is great with helping me out.”
Sukuna, not one to let you steal the spotlight, leaned in closer to the camera with a sly grin, his voice dropping an octave as he added, “I mean, who wouldn’t want to go and carry you and take care of you, doll?” He tilted his head in mock seriousness. “I love caring for you.”
The comment section immediately went into overdrive. The fans couldn’t handle it.
“THE FLIRTING?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!”
“STOPPP THIS IS TOO MUCH MY HEART CAN’T TAKE IT.”
“If they’re not dating, then what's the real point of my life in this world, you guys?”
“Someone pls send help I’ve forgotten how to breathe.”
“Sukuna saying ‘I love caring for you’ like it’s casual?!? They’re married and I know it.”
“Can they just admit it already? WE KNOW.”
After the interview wrapped up, you both waved to the camera, still giggling, as the host thanked you. As soon as the cameras cut, your phones exploded with notifications. It seemed like every social media platform was on fire, fans spiraling into a frenzy over the playful banter.
There were memes of Sukuna carrying you like a princess, edits of the two of you in wedding attire, and screenshots of the moment Sukuna leaned into the camera like he was making a declaration of eternal love.
“I told you this would happen, bub.” you said, showing Sukuna the screen full of memes.
He glanced over and chuckled. “What, people can’t handle a little chemistry?” He shrugged nonchalantly, but you could see the hint of amusement in his eyes. He was enjoying this just as much as you were.
“Well, I guess we’re just going to have to keep them guessing.” you replied, throwing him a teasing grin.
Sukuna leaned back, stretching his arms behind his head. “Or maybe we just keep giving them something to talk about.”
“Well, I love talking about you anyway.” You look at him with a smile. “Don’t you like doing the same?”
He pauses for a second, but grins. “But don’t you already know that?”
“Yeah, I do. I just like hearing it.”
“Cheeky one, aren’t you, doll?”
You grin even wider at him. “Well, my favorite act of love are words of affirmation.”
As you walked out of the studio together, Sukuna looked at you with a smirk. “But you know, I think I could get used to this whole ‘carrying you’ thing. It really keeps the fans on their toes.”
“Oh, for sure.” you replied, nudging him playfully. “Just wait until they start shipping us harder.”
“Let them do their thing.” he said, shrugging nonchalantly. “I’ll just keep carrying you around. I’m like a knight in shining armor, after all.”
You both laughed, knowing that the playful teasing and affectionate banter were only part of the adventure you were embarking on together. As the days went by, the trend only grew, with fans eagerly anticipating every new development in your story.
With each passing moment, the excitement around your dynamic seemed to intertwine your lives more and more, and you couldn’t shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of something truly special.

I just always think about Bob reading to your class and the kids living him and asking when he can come back
Oh my gosh, yes, the thought of Bob Floyd surrounded by a bunch of tiny faces looking up at him with rapt, awed attention is enough to make my ovaries burst. But, as a middle school teacher, I raise you that there’s no greater compliment than having cranky middle schoolers think you’re cool—especially if Bob was nervous to come visit them in the first place 🤭
“Guess who asked about you today,” you announce with a knowing smirk as you stroll into the kitchen, placing your lunch bag on the counter and dropping your reusable water bottle into the sink before making your way over to where your boyfriend is sitting at the kitchen island eating a sandwich, and placing a big kiss on his cheek. You notice, with a smile, that an identical sandwich is already sitting on a plate beside him, ready for you.
You love the days when Bob’s shift on base ends early and he gets home from work right around the same time you do. Judging by the fact that he’s already changed into a white t-shirt and an old pair of sweatpants, not to mention the late lunch he prepared, he’s been home for a while already.
Bob takes a moment to swallow a sandwich bite, his blue eyes thoughtful behind the large frames of his glasses as he considers. “Um, your mom?” he guesses with a sheepish grin.
You laugh at his response, mentally conceding that it is a fair one as you plop down onto the island stool beside him. He knows you always call your mom on your drive home from work.
“No, but good guess,” you tease, reaching out for a Gold Fish cracker and popping it into your mouth. You love this man for never making fun of your obsession with your favorite childhood snack.
“Hmmm,” Bob murmurs, scratching his chin as he considers. “Mrs. Johnson? I promise I’m going to mow her lawn this weekend,” he says quickly, referring to your elderly, widowed neighbor a couple houses down.
“No, not her either,” you tell him, shaking your head with a grin, your eyes sparkling as you take a bite of your sandwich.
“Okay, I give up,” he sighs dramatically, grinning as he rests one large, calloused hand on your upper thigh. “Who?”
“My kids!” you burst out gleefully, giggling behind your hand at Bob’s stunned expression. “They already want to know when you’re going to be back—not if, when.”
“Really?” Bob gapes. He couldn’t have looked more shocked if you had told him that the president had called to let him know he was being awarded the Navy Cross.
Earlier this week, you had finally managed to convince Bob to come give a talk to your 8th graders about what it’s like being a Navy pilot and working for TOPGUN. You were currently teaching your unit on World War II and the kids had been fascinated by a documentary you’d shown them about fighter pilots from the 40s. The fact that your boyfriend also had a great love of naval history, in addition to being a TOPGUN graduate himself, made him the perfect candidate to come talk to your class.
Bob had been extremely nervous about the whole thing. Middle school had been a terrible experience for him, and you’d quickly learned that though he could keep his composure when flying life-threatening military missions, he was terrified at the prospect of speaking in front of a bunch of prepubescent kids.
You hadn’t told your students Bob was your boyfriend, figuring it was good if they had one less thing to comment on when he came to visit.
“Of course, really,” you beam, running your fingers through his honey-colored hair as you lean in to nuzzle your nose against his. “Your talk was amazing. Trust me, I’ve never seen those kids so quiet and focused before in my life. I’m actually kind of jealous,” you laugh.
Bob stammers slightly in response, his cheeks turning red as he shoves his glasses back up his nose.
“Right at the start of my lesson today, they started asking, ‘When is the Navy dude with the glasses coming back? He was so cool!’” you continue with a wide grin.
“Wow. Definitely never imagined a middle schooler calling me cool,” he chuckles, running a hand through his hair shyly. You know that he hates having so much attention on him.
“Well you are,” you say softly, resting your hand over his. “You’re the coolest guy I know, Bob Floyd.”
Bob smiles widely, his blue eyes twinkling as he ducks his head to press a kiss to your lips. “Maybe I could arrange to have your class come visit us on North Island,” he murmurs softly, pecking the corner of your mouth with tender affection.
Bouncing up and down on your stool excitedly, you throw your arms around him and squeeze him tightly. “That would be amazing! See? Coolest guy around.”

another beach vacation
inspired by those bizarre moments when it’s sweltering out and somehow you’re freezing with a fever (most definitely not inspired by my low-grade fever last week lol)
It was just another hot day at the beach during their vacation at the oceanside cottage, but B can tell something’s off. They’re all swimming, B a bit further out from A and C, but B notices that A’s out of the water more than they’re in, and they barely get in past ankle-deep water. After a few minutes and some wild gesturing from C, they get in deeper, and B goes back to swimming alongside the current.
But when B checks again, A’s left the water entirely, sitting directly in the sun even though they burn easily. When B gets out to investigate, they see A’s covered in goosebumps and visibly shivering, arms wrapped around their knees.
“A, what are you doing? You’re gonna get burned.”
A shrugs. “I’m cold. Like, in my bones. I don’t know what’s wrong.” A gentle breeze wafts through the air, sending a shudder rippling through them, and they hug their knees tighter to their chest. “I thought the sun would help me warm up.”
B wraps a towel around them and curls behind A, hugging them close. Contrary to A’s belief, they feel like a banked coal against B’s body, yet B can feel the small shivers that ripple through them as they rub A’s blanketed arms. “You’re probably just a little chilled from the water.”
“Maybe.” A’s voice is small, shaky, quiet. Not at all like themselves.
Eventually, A pulls on the dry t-shirt B offers and lays down under the beach umbrella, curling up in a ball with arms wrapped around themselves, while B pulls out a battered old paperback. Every so often, B can hear A’s teeth chatter, and eventually they drape one of the dry towels over them, even though it’s sweltering out.
C darts up dripping wet, starting to say something to B, but stops short when they see A laying down. “What’s wrong with A?”
“Not feeling well.” B glances down from their book to see A, still curled under the towel. “They got chilled and needed to warm up for a bit.”
C stops short, glancing down at A, then to B, face guilty. “I….may be the cause of that.”
B gives A a confused look. “What?”
“They…didn’t really want to swim, said they didn’t feel up to it. I nagged them, told them they were boring and never wanted to have fun, and then they finally got in.“ C shrugs, swiping their foot in the sand. “They shook so bad the whole time they were in the water. I thought they were faking to be dramatic.” C looks sheepish. “It’s just….it’s so hot out, and the water wasn’t that cold…”
C’s not wrong—the air temperature must be over 90 degrees, and there’s barely a cloud in the sky. But A’s visibly shivering, face pale in the shade of the umbrella, hands clutching the towel tightly around their shoulders like they can’t get the extra layer close enough.
“A, you feeling any better?”
A just moans, pulling the towel up to their chin. B reaches out a hand, and the mystery is solved the second their palm touches A’s feverish forehead. They’re even warmer now in the shade than when B felt them earlier.
Poor thing. “A, we’re gonna go back up to the house now and get you dried off and in bed. You’ve got a fever.” A moans again, softer this time.
C’s face falls at B’s announcement. “I guess I’ll…stay here a bit longer then. Meet you at home.”
B nods, hoists A up in their arms in a bridal carry, towel and all, and begins the trek up the winding path back to the coastal beach house.
Arriving home, B carries A up to the bathroom and persuades A to allow a quick shower to wash off all the sand and salty seawater. A shivers the entire time, knees tucked to their chest and arms folded to their body, head bobbing as they fight to stay awake, hands feebly rubbing at the goosebumps that skitter across their arms.
Eventually the two minutes of misery are over and B wraps a thick bath towel around A’s waist, and another around their shoulders. The rest of the home is frigid from the air-conditioning, and A hunches over to try and preserve warmth as they half-shuffle, half lean on B to their room. B helps them dress in a dry t-shirt and shorts and eases them under the light summer covers, and A pulls the top quilt tightly around their body.
“I’m going to run to the corner store and see if they have some medicine. Stay in bed, okay?”
B takes the single moan from the lump of blankets as a yes.
A half hour later, B returns with a plastic grocery bag full of medicines, expecting to find A still curled up in bed. But instead, A’s on their hands and knees by their suitcase, frantically rummaging through their clothes.
“A, what are you doing out of bed?”
“I need s-s-something, anything warmer.” A’s teeth are audibly chattering, and they’re clutching their arms close to their body as they shake with chills. “I tried to sleep, I tried, but the c-covers are so thin, and I couldn’t stop shivering, and I couldn’t figure out how to turn the AC down…” A’s lower lip quivers as they stare mournfully at their suitcase. “I didn’t bring anything warm. Not even a pair of socks. I’m so cold…”
B’s heart squeezes at the admission. “C’mon. Let’s get you back under the covers and I’ll see if I can find some of my stuff you can wear.”
After getting A back in bed, B goes to their room and begins tearing clothes from their suitcase, but it’s useless—the weather forecast had been for sweltering temperatures all week, so they just some lightweight T-shirts, shorts, an outfit for when they went to town for dinner….
“What’s wrong?” C must’ve gotten back after B, and they’ve now changed into regular clothes, hair still damp, with a half-eaten popsicle in one hand.
“A’s got bad chills and can’t sleep. And of course, none of us brought warm clothes because it’s so hot here.” A tosses another pair of shorts to the side. “We used up all the towels, too, so we can’t even have that as an option until I do some laundry—“
“I’ve got some sweatpants they can borrow.” C shrugs. “And an old sweatshirt, I think.”
“You? In the summer?”
C shrugs. “What? I hate the thought of being cold.” Their eyes flick to the carpet. “And it’s sort of my fault anyways. I shouldn’t have made them swim when they weren’t feeling good.”
“Hey. You didn’t know.” B gives C’s shoulder a squeeze, even though C doesn’t look absolved.
Within a minute, C makes it back to A’s bedroom with the extra layers, plus some extra blankets they found from the linen closet. B helps A dress, then wraps an extra blanket around their shoulders before tucking them back under the covers.
“Better?” B asks, rubbing A’s back through the blankets.
“Uh huh,” A says with a sigh, burrowing deeper into the blankets. “I thought I was gonna freeze.”
C’s at the end of A’s bed, scuffing their toe into the carpet, when they finally speak. “A, I….I didn’t mean what I said back at the beach. Heck, I shouldn’t have said it, even if you were feeling well. You’re not boring, I promise. I was just being stupid, and I’m sorry.”
“C, you were forgiven the minute you gave me these clothes,” A says, voice muffled from beneath the blankets. “But if you’re not feeling forgiven enough, making me a cup of hot tea will absolve you fully.”
“On it.” C darts away to the kitchen, and after giving A three different types of medicine, B settles in with their book on the bed next to A.
“Sorry I’m ruining the vacation,” A mumbles, quieter. “I’d much rather be out in the sun and swimming than in here trying to stay warm.”
“Nonsense. You’re just giving us a little break from the sun.” B smiles, giving A’s shoulder a little squeeze before tucking their blankets just a little bit tighter.

Brianna, Sarah, and Lexi couldn't contain themselves anymore, they passionately made out, their cocks erect, all about ten inches in length, very swollen from over-masturbating. Their cocks pressed together, as their breasts did, the sensation of finally being together like this immediately made them all feel ready to prematurely cum. No shame in it. The girls did, giggling and gasping as their big cocks shot load after load.
The three girls moved in together to share rent, figuring other trans girls were ideal roommates. All of them claimed to only be into men, but they quickly felt a great deal of attraction toward one another, always dancing around it. Every girl would check out the other girls' breasts, compliment them, check out their asses, and of course, the main source of all the sexual tension, all three girls had a nearly foot-long cock that they could barely tuck and hide in public, let alone at home.
All day they'd catch themselves and each other staring at the girls' often erect cocks. A big bulge in their shorts or lifting the hem of their dresses or skirts. When it became too much, the girls would have to 'use the bathroom', apartment code for being so horny they have to go jerk off. Several times a day the girls would find themselves having to run off and masturbate, or risk cumming in their shorts or all over themselves/the furniture if they wore a dress or skirt. No underwear at home, or bras.... But each girl maintained they were only attracted to men.
One day, Brianna told the other girls she was considering going off her estrogen for a while to see how her body would react. Sarah and Lexi loved this idea, all three of them gushing that they've been thinking nonstop about going off their estrogen since moving in together. The wheels started spinning in their dumb, girly minds. They went off estrogen, and within a day their erections became almost painful, so stubborn and frequent they'd get erect again almost right after jerking off. All three girls noticed their cock were bigger, after only one day, from the sheer amount of swelling due to excessively masturbating.
Brianna turned to the girls, all sitting, watching TV, trying their hardest not to accidentally cum, or rub their cocks through their clothes, or glance too long at the other girls' throbbing erections. It became too much. A frustrated Brianna announced, "What if we all just went on testosterone and became boys instead?" Sarah and Lexi both came, Sarah in her shorts, Lexi all over her legs in a plaid skirt. The girls launched at each other, making out, pulling off each other's clothes, giggling, gasping, and moaning as they no longer suppressed their feelings, allowing themselves to touch and pump each other's cocks, not caring how pathetically fast they all ejaculated.... The girls soon took turns trying to fuck each other's asses, struggling even with lube to cram their swollen, jiggly cocks into the other girls' asses, but they had fun trying.
As they all lay together, panting and sweating, Sarah and Lexi leaning against Brianna's breasts, suckling them, Brianna told her roommates, "Guess we're not really girls after all."
Sarah and Lexi shook their heads. "Nope, not one bit," Lexi said.
"Never were," Sarah naughtily giggled. "All the blockers and estrogen in the world didn't change that we're just boys."
Brianna giggled. "Boys with tits, and huge cocks..... I bet we can convince a lot of cute guys we're really girls, only to press our bulges against them. It'd be so fun to get hate fucked and called a dumb sissy boy and a fake girl...."
"Oh my god that's so hot!" Lexi said. "I'd love for a guy to see me, check me out, only for me to ask him he doesn't look like the kind of guy who's into other men...."
"Fuck....." Sarah gasped, ejaculating against Brianna's thigh.
"Good boy," both Brianna and Lexi said.
"Thank you.... but we'll have to move fast. If we start T we won't pass for girls much longer."
Lexi bit her lip. "We don't really pass very well now...."
Brianna's cock got rock hard again. "Nope, not one bit."
Sarah almost came again on the spot. "We're just fooling ourselves if we think we look even remotely like girls. It's soooo obvious we're boys playing dress up!"
All three girls came again, without so much as touching their cocks. Brianna moaned, her cock twitching with all twelve ropes of cum she shot, feeling glorious testosterone course through her, finally. "And pretty soon we'll sound just like boys, no more pre-puberty girly voices for us."
"Oooo, and we'll get beards finally, and chest hair!" Lexi said.
"We need to grow out all of our body hair and still wear our cute outfits. Everyone's reaction will be soooo hot, seeing us detrans."
Brianna held his new boyfriends against him. "Let's find a doctor and offer to suck his cock in exchange for a T-prescription."
"I love the way you think, dude," Lexi said.

Late Night Adventures M.S.
Bf!Matt x Gf!Fem!Reader
Summary: in which you and Matt make a late-night run to McDonald's
A/N: If you don't like the preadded name in my stories, you can either add your own name or not read it; it's up to you :)
Dating Matt has definitely been some of the best months and years you could ever imagine. All the core memories you have cultivated with just this one person that literally feels like and smells like home to you. All the picnics on the beach and the road trips you guys would take to Boston to visit his parents are something you forever treasure.
But the one thing you absolutely adore doing with your boyfriend are the consistent late-night trips to McDonalds. See both of us have a pretty interesting sleep schedule, honestly being nonexistent, causes us to be up at random hours of the early/late morning. you remember when the tradition started.
"Matt I can't sleep"
you groan out as you sit up in his bed. The only light in his room is his desktop screensaver emanating a light blue light.
"me either"
he simply states. Sitting up next to you, your shoulders brushing against each other slightly. At this point in time, the late-night runs to McDonalds started when you and Matt had only been together for 3 months.
"are you hungry?"
Matt speaks up breaking the awkward silence causing you to giggle at the random question.
"what Matt"
you chuckle out as he chuckles along with you.
"are you hungry?"
he reiterates turning his head to meet your confused gaze.
"i mean i guess so"
you state unsure of whats to come next.
" okay let's go- let's take a trip to McDonalds"
he simply states getting out of bed and putting on his black ransom hoodie you love on him.
"Matthew it's 2 in the morning"
you state still sitting in his bed.
"so you said you hungry- let's go"
he chuckles out as he reaches his hand out to grab yours to pull you out of bed which you willing do with a playful giggle and eye-roll, as you walk on your knees across the bed to get out of it on the side he was currently standing on.
"see wasn't this a good idea"
your boyfriend states as you guys are sitting in an empty parking lot handing you the food you guys just ordered.
" yeah yeah"
you reply playfully as you take the nuggets your order from his hand
"you know it is"
he chuckles focusing his attention on the food in front of him finally. See you guys never verbally announced that this was going to be an ongoing habit or tradition,it kind of just came to be.
" you thinking what I am thinking"
you state looking over at him as you and Matt are laying down in your bed.
"McDonalds?"
he asks still staring at the ceiling, already knowing the answer.
"McDonalds"
you repeat as he finally shifts his gaze to your eyes next to him.
"let's go"
he exclaims sitting up and grabbing your hand in the process.
Which brings you to the present time of you and Matt sitting in the same empty parking lot with your food, making this the third year of consistently having McDonalds runs late at night when you guys couldn't manage to fall asleep.
" did you know we have been doing this for 3 years"
you state out of complete realization looking at your boyfriend who is sporting your new obsession, his winter beard paired with his gray colored beanie and white t-shirt with his blue denim jeans along with his keys attached to the belt loop.
"for real"
he states shocked meeting your gaze in the process.
"Yeah"
you say simply continuing to eat on the MnM McFlurry you ordered tonight.
"well I wouldn't want to be doing this with anyone else"
he states affectionately, catching your gaze.
"I love you"
you respond as he grabs the side of your cheek to bring you closer to his face, rubbing your guys' noses together in an Eskimo kiss.
"I love you too"

Can you maybe write 2010 toms reaction and hc's for the reader being pregnant?
UNEXPECTED - T. KAULITZ
synopsis: you have to tell tom some unexpected news, and his reaction isn’t what you had hoped for.
content: angst
a/n: thank you so much for the request, i am so bad at head canons so i just did a fic, i hope that’s okay!!
my hands shakily clutched at the test, tears rolling down my flushed cheeks as i hoped that somehow, my eyes were deceiving me. positive, the test reads, the eight letters staring back at me, reminding me over and over that they are very real, and i can’t back out of this.
tom and i were always careful, using protection every time we had sex to stop things like this from happening. we were young and foolish, as every 21 year old is, not ready to welcome a child of our own into the world, the thought of it scaring me so much, never thinking that it would become a reality so soon. it wasn’t that we didn’t ever want kids, but tom was constantly on tour, away from home for weeks and though i always went with him, it just wouldn’t be right to take a child with us. we had always discussed starting a family, both of us coming to the mutual conclusion that now just wasn’t the right time.
which is what terrified me even more, tom’s reaction worrying me as i just couldn’t guess what it would be. he was currently at the studio with the band, and he would be home any minute now, evening dawning over us as he had no idea of the news i was about to bring to him.
i sat on the couch, the test stuffed into the back pocket of my jeans, my eyes fixed on whatever was on the tv, but my mind was elsewhere, waiting for the door to open and tom to walk through it, praying that he wouldn’t freak out. there was no time left to just hope, the door handle turning as tom steps through, baggy jacket clad to his figure, reminding me just how cold it is outside. he takes his shoes off, announcing a quick “i’m home my love”, before entering the living room, a smile appearing on his face once he sees me.
he walks towards the sofa, sitting down beside me and embracing me in a hug. my body begins to shake as i can no longer hold back the tears, tom noticing and quickly pulling away, studying my face and the sorrow etched upon it.
“baby, what’s wrong?” he replies, concerned, holding my face and kissing my forehead, attempting to wipe the tears as he awaits my response.
“you promise you won’t get mad?” i manage to let out between sobs, my words almost inaudible, yet he clearly understands what i say, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.
“what? why would i be mad? you can tell me anything, you know that.” he says, much more composed than i am, his heart aching to see me in this state. “now what’s wrong? please, talk to me schatz.”
my eyes meet his for the first time, bloodshot and glassy, whilst his hurriedly scan my face, the worry only increasing in his own as every second passes that i don’t confess. i can’t bring myself to say the two words “i’m pregnant”, because the second i do, it will truly become real, my mind in some twisted sort of denial, telling myself that if i don’t admit it, it will somehow go away. so, instead of saying what is wrong, i decide to show him, reaching hesitantly into my back pocket and placing the pregnancy test in his hands.
he looks downwards, finally seeing the reason why i am so upset. his body tenses up, his mouth hanging open in shock the only thing he is able to do. i cant tell if he is happy, excited, or completely angry, all i know is that he cannot believe his eyes. the tears continue to spill down my cheeks, praying that he will reassure me that everything will be okay, but the twisting feeling in my stomach provides me with the terrifying realisation that i’m not going to receive that comfort.
“please say something.” i whisper, my voice shaky as he still hasn’t moved or even looked at me, his eyes fixed on the pregnancy test in his palm of his hands.
“is this real?” he mutters, refusing to look at me, his hands trembling a little.
“it’d be a pretty fucked up joke tom.” i reply, angry at his ridiculous question but not in any position to consider causing an argument, knowing that is the last thing i need right now.
“i just- i don’t know what to say. i’m not ready for this.” he confesses, finally looking upwards as his gaze meets mine, his eyes now glazed with tears, yet he isn’t sad - i see a glare within them that cannot be mistaken for anything else but anger.
“i’m not either tom, you know this. i don’t know what to do.” i put my head in my hands, sobbing even more now, my breathing fast and irregular. my mind longs for any sort of comfort from him, even a little reassurance, a half-hearted ‘it’s gonna be okay’, even though it would be a lie, it would be the most perfect one he ever told, because it would give me a million times more consolation than i am receiving right now. but he stays silent, biting his lip, almost as if he is stopping himself from truly speaking his mind.
“i can’t do this.” he finally says, standing up and walking out of the living room, exiting the house as he closes the front door behind him with a slam.
my breathing begins to quicken, my heart rate increasing as the worst possible scenario is suddenly becoming true in front of my eyes. if me finding out that i was pregnant wasn’t enough, tom leaving only placed the cherry on my cake, a sickening sense of guilt now punching me in the gut, stabbing a knife in the wound as i begin to feel nothing but completely stupid for letting this happen, blaming it all on myself. my sobs are muffled within my hands as my head rests there, my entire body trembling as i long to be in his arms, him telling me that it would be okay, that we would get through this. instead, the cold air is my only company, leaving me in it’s icy embrace, giving me the constant reminder that i am alone.
it is this reminder that sticks with me until my eyes begin to feel heavy, my body falling into a deep sleep, providing me with a temporary distraction from reality.
warm hands. two large, warm hands are what wake me from my sleep as they caress my face gently, contrasting with the coldness of the entire house.
“love?” i hear a familiar voice whisper, finally opening my eyes to see tom kneeled beside me, his own bloodshot from crying.
“why are you here?” i ask, anger quickly filling my veins, the reminder of how quickly he left, betrayed me like it was nothing, flooding my memory.
“i’m sorry. i shouldn’t have left like that. i was just so shocked, and i backed out, and i shouldn’t have. we can talk about this, if you’re ready to.” he softly says as i sit up, moving his hands off my face.
“you left me.” i mutter, the tears already threatening to fall. “i wanted your support, and you left me. you fucking left me when i needed you most! do you know how shitty that feels? all day, i’ve felt guilty, and i find the courage to tell you and then you fucking bail on me?”
“i know and i’m so sorry my love. i didn’t expect it, i reacted in the wrong way-”
“what you think i did expect it? you think i’ve been throwing up for the past two weeks and i wanted it to happen? do you know how hard it’s been to hide my suspicions, because i didn’t want to scare you until i knew for sure, and then you run away because you didn’t expect it? the one time, the one time i fucking need you here and you leave me.” i sob, my voice breaking as i shake my head, standing up and walking away, tom quickly following me to the kitchen where i stand, my front against the counter, head in my hands.
he says nothing, but wraps his arms around my waist from behind, his thumbs running along my stomach comfortingly, lips pressing small kisses on my shoulder as i slowly begin to calm down. we both stand in silence, tom never loosening his hold on me, finally speaking up once my breathing has slowed a little.
“i’m sorry. i’m so so sorry. you didn’t deserve that at all. i promise you, i’ll never leave you like that again, not for a second.” he whispers, turning me around so that my chest is flush against his, his arms securely around my waist.
“why did you do that tom? you have no idea how scared i am.” i say, my words slightly muffled as my head is buried into his t-shirt, my arms clinging onto his neck.
“ i’m so sorry. i’m sorry.” he keeps repeating, kissing my forehead over and over between his words, never once letting go of me.
“what are we going to do?” i sigh, appreciating the fact that we have made up, but knowing that it doesn’t change the situation or make the reality any easier to swallow.
“i don’t know baby, i don’t know. but whatever you decide, i’ll be right here, always. i promise, i’ll always be here.” he affirms, and the sincerity of his voice tells me that i can believe every single one of his words.
“i love you tom.” i say, the words slipping from my mouth naturally as they are the only ones that come to mind.
“i love you too.”
requests are open! keep sending them in!!

Pairing: Evan Buckley x Tommy Kinard AU (911)
Word count: 3.3K
Warnings: age gap, blowjob (m receiving), rimming, pet names
Summary: Former high school football star Evan Buckley navigates his new adult life. A broken down car takes him to the nearest body shop, where a very handsome 30-something mechanic catches his eye - and he's good with his hands too!
A/N: Yay, a new fic! This has been sitting in my head for a while and I finally put it down into words after seeing this manip photo of Oliver with longer hair. Sadly, I put aside some things I had already started, but I'm happy to get more work out there! Constructive criticism is welcome. Enjoy!

“Helping number 36!” A young lady announces over the intercom. A shared gasp fills the room at the loud intrusion, and everyone has a look at their ticket. Evan sighs finally! He walks into the service area and heads to where an assistant is waiting to get his ticket.
“36?” A short man in glasses questions.
“That’s me! I’m Evan,” he answers with a handshake.
“Great, Evan. What brings you in today?”
He goes on for a solid fifteen minutes about all the troubles with his car. From the screeching breaks to the clicking steering and so on. His folks couldn’t afford a new car for when he got his license, and with their money and his combined, a deadbeat ‘64 Buick Skylark was all he could get - while still looking badass. It got him from point A to point B, albeit all the times he had to stop to nudge something back in place or to make sure the oil level was still right. He was saving to get himself a car that was at least of the decade, but it was proving longer than initially planned with all the fixing and maintenance on this one.
“Well, we have a really great old school mechanic, and an open schedule, so we can actually get started today if you’d like!” The assistant states, and proceeds to give him a rundown of the costs. Evan nods and runs back to his car to back it into a garage spot.
“Little further!” He hears a voice call from behind the trunk, unable to see the face of the man in the mirror. “Alright!” He adds waving his hands, and Evan breaks abruptly. He gets out of the car and starts rambling about what needs to be fixed, until a hand on his shoulder stops him.
“We’ve got it, kid.” The deep voice says again, and Evan turns this time, getting a first look at his face. And what a face! He’s surprised at first that he has to look up at him (even for just a few inches), and he rapidly gets lost in his striking blue eyes. “We’ll take care of it like it’s our own,” the mystery man says, bringing Evan back to reality.
“Um, thanks. Yeah, that would be, um, great!” He’s met with a reassuring smile, crinkly nose and all. He smiles back, trying to act as cool.
“I see you play,” Tommy (Evan remembered he could read for a second and saw his name tag) tries to start a conversation, pointing at the high school logo on his t-shirt. He nods. Tommy laughs. “I also used to a few years back. Same high school. Didn’t stick though, I was good with my hands but for different reasons.” If the blush on Evan’s cheeks wasn’t already apparent, that last statement accompanied by a wink surely painted his face a lovely crimson shade. If anything, it keeps Evan from telling him he actually graduated last year, but that’s besides the point.
He lets his eyes wander on the man’s body as he walks around to the hood; he guesses he’s around thirty. His thick veiny hands run along the metal, and thicker, veinier arms struggle to stay contained in the white t-shirt, proving he did in fact play sports in his youth. He likes what he sees, and doesn't know how to act about it. There was one thing a small town high school couldn’t provide you with; a well diverse sex-ed class. Not that nobody talked about it, but it was more often in a bad light than in a supportive kind of chit-chat in the back of a locker room. He had only been exposed to “educative” material through dodgy websites - though he owed his quarter-back wrist strength to that!
Today though, Evan would be happy to learn and explore.
“I’m sorry, do you guys have any water?” He manages to blurt out, running a finger into the neck of his shirt and his other hand up the side of his jeans.
“I’m afraid you’ll have to use the hose, kid.” Tommy points him to the side of the building a few feet away. Evan rushes to it, and almost drowns from the big gulps he’s inhaling, and doesn’t notice Tommy’s watching. Doesn’t see how he licks his lips at the sight of his own mouth pursed, and the sway of his Adam’s apple as he swallows vigorously. How Tommy’s eyes run down his arched back as he’s holding himself up with a hand on his knee. When he’s done drinking, some stray drops run down his chin and Tommy wants to lap at them. He clears his throat and goes back to examining the engine when their eyes meet.
A couple hours has brought the awkward moment to a well established conversation between the two as they exchange about cars and Fantasy Football predictions - both of them stealing looks every once in a while, silently eating the other up. When Evan runs his hand on his stomach as it growls, Tommy takes the opportunity to ask:
“Do you wanna grab a bite?”
“Huh?” Evan asks, his brain scrambled from the heat and the blood filling his semi.
“I think I’ll need at least another day before I’m done, and the last piece I took out will keep you from driving home,” he begins. “I thought maybe we could grab a bite and I can drive you back?” There’s another sensation added to the hunger in Evan’s stomach, one he had felt a long time ago when an exchange student from England had arrived at their school. He’d gotten Evan in a corner one day and kissed his lips, and Evan let him for several seconds before he pushed him away, embarrassed - confused. He told him he wasn’t mad, but that this didn’t have to happen again or be made known to others. He still hates himself after all those years for not apologizing before the guy went back home.
“I. Yeah, yeah. That would be great.” He finds the strength to answer.
“Awesome. Let me get out of these overalls and I’ll be right there.”
Evan guides Tommy down the streets of his neighbourhood after leaving the diner, where he had the best burgers of his life. Didn’t I tell ya, kid? He remembers Tommy had said when Evan moaned at the taste of the greasy patty. He turned red right there again, but when his eyes landed on Tommy’s, he realized they were both bothered and hot by the situation. If he was reading it right…
Kid. Evan can’t shake the hold that pet name has on him, a weird mix of adoration and degradation. He wasn’t a kid! He was 19! But then again, in contrast to the well-established, rugged man sitting next to him, as he watches his fingers drum absentmindedly to a Kiss song on the steering wheel, Evan can understand why he uses that word. He hopes it isn’t derogatory, but is willing to prove Tommy wrong.
When they get to Evan’s house, Tommy drives his car into the empty driveway and turns the engine off with a content sigh. “I guess that’s my stop,” Evan jokes and clumsily goes to tap the center console, unaware that Tommy had leaned his arm onto it, the contact of his hand hitting the strong skin sends a shiver down his spine. Like a deer in headlights, he stays like this, not budging a finger until he hears Tommy chuckle deeply.
“You okay there, buddy?” That was a new one, Evan notes, and he’s sure now that he read the situation wrong because Tommy must see him as a bro, as his little brother’s friend who’s always squatting in the basement. But the second later, Evan is shoved into a new reality when he feels Tommy’s left hand come to cradle his chin to turn his head his way. He’s unable to tell if he’s still breathing, but that can be done manually so he should survive even in the confined space around them. There’s a tentative look in Tommy’s expression, a light smirk as his eyes volley in a triangle between Evan’s lips, his eyes, and the few bunches of curls that pop out of his cap. When the hand on his arm tightens instinctively, Tommy takes the plunge and crashes their lips together.
It’s hungry and unfiltered, and what Buck gives in clumsiness Tommy can redirect and show him he’s really into this. As if his grunts or the hand creeping to the back of Evan’s neck weren’t enough proof that Tommy wasn’t just trying to be nice. That’s when Evan realizes he’s kissing back, and grunting too, and he’s not going to have to feel sorry for the near future because of his stupid brain. He unfastens his seatbelt to try and kneel onto the seat until Tommy laughs into his mouth, now open from having been explored by a hungry tongue.
“Evan,” he begins, “are you sure about this?” There’s a frown on Evan’s face and he wonders what he did wrong, until Tommy corrects: “I mean, is this okay here in the car? Won’t anybody just walk by?” And then Evan smiles.
“My parents are out of town for the week, if you would, um. If you’d like, we can go inside.” It’s like the puffiness of his lips is keeping him from talking properly, but Tommy’s eager to get out of the car and follows Evan to the door, hooking one of his fingers into a loop at the back of his jeans, that way he can pull Evan against him as he shuts the door. They makeout in the entryway for several minutes, hands rushing to touch the other’s skin.
“Sit on the couch,” Tommy says firmly. Evan’s stomach flips again. He obliges, and sits awkwardly on one side of the couch, leaving room for Tommy, completely oblivious to his intentions. Until Tommy grabs both sides of Evan’s ass and manhandles him onto the center, and finds a comfortable spot between his legs on his knees, then Evan understands where this is going and he’d be lying if he said it didn’t send a sweat down his back.
“I, um,” he struggles. “This is um... Has never happened before.” He’s already a panting, sweaty mess even though he’d been in this position before - granted the subjects on the floor were much more petite, delicate and feminine. This was uncharted territory he definitely wanted to wander into, but he felt like he forgot his flashlight and was walking barefoot in gravel through the expedition.
“It’s alright, kid. I just want to take care of you for tonight if you’ll let me, no expectations.” It reassures him already, and he nods in approbation. “You stop me whenever, tap my shoulder and I’ll be gone.” He chuckles along with Tommy, and bites his bottom lip when he’s already working on his fly. He makes quick work of it; good with his hands, Evan thinks back.
And boy does he prove it fast. Evan’s not sure he even got to take three breaths in before Tommy was running his thumb along the bottom of his head, applying a faint pressure that had his blood pumping just right, filling his length the rest of the way, causing him to hiss sharply through his teeth. There seems to be a surprised excitement in Tommy’s expression, and he’s not sure if it’s at his size or the way he’s pathetically putty in his hands already, but he’d let that live in the back of his mind forever.
“Breathe, baby boy,” Tommy encourages as he pumps him now. It’s not the usual technique he’d use on himself, but Tommy found that one to be a safe bet most of the time. He feels Evan relax under him, his legs falling a little further apart and Tommy takes advantage to creep into the new space. His arms are holding Evan’s hips down, his left hand wanders under his t-shirt onto the tight, soft stomach of the sweet boy before him. He’s in pain, straining the zipper of his jeans and he curses himself for wanting to look nice rather than throw on some sweats. But it’s not about him. He hasn’t had dick in his mouth for way too long now, and when that buff twink walked into the garage, he knew there was something to play with in those hugging blue jeans.
“That’s it,” he praises, kissing the tip and sucking the bead of precum that had threatened to glide down. “You taste so good.”
“Than- Thank you sir,” Evan moans from deep in his chest. Tommy’s eyes roll to the back of his head, and he sucks in just the tip, then maybe an inch or two, then three, until Evan is a shaking mess under his grip. He sucks his cheeks in on his way up, trying to wet him as much as possible, before connecting their gaze and sinking down fully in a single movement, his nose poking the taunt pubic flesh. Tommy could almost come in his pants at the sight of Evan’s reaction. He can only imagine nobody had gotten that monster down fully without struggling before, and Tommy secretly thanks his first busy years out of the closet for the practice. He pops off after a few seconds.
“Is that okay?” He’s teasing, of course. The wet sounds of his hand pumping with purpose already answer his question.
“Is that… Are you, are you fucking kidding?” He throws his head back with a punched laugh, sending his cap to fall onto his lap. Tommy grabs it and puts it on backwards, and Evan has to shut his eyes or he’ll embarrass himself in the next seconds. The look makes Tommy pass for one of his team mates, and there’s a jolt in his stomach at the idea of fooling around with him in the lockers in high school. Though the age difference dynamic is still strongly present; he can confirm from the tricks Tommy is pulling on him. “It’s, it’s so good Tommy.” He pulls out his name in a high pitched moan. Tommy knows he doesn’t have that many pulls left before he’s tipping him over the edge.
He pulls the coffee table behind him a little closer, until his body is slightly nudged underneath it, and he gently lifts Evan’s feet so they rest on it, spreading him just how he intends. He doesn’t waste his time plunging in, dragging his nose along the crease of Evan’s thigh, then the other, pushing into his balls in the passing. His hands have found a safe place just under his knees, so his dick can get a break as he explores him, smells him. He digs a little lower, and gives a trial lick to Evan’s taint, reading his immediate moan as a sign to keep going until he’s fully making out with his asshole moments later. Tommy groans into him when he feels the curious drag of the boy’s fingers into his hair, the cap long discarded, asking him to stay right there just a tad longer until he’s a writhing mess and Tommy knows he’s gotta take action. Evan’s legs are burning, his stomach feels stiff and he’s not sure whether the pressure in his head is from an upcoming aneurysm or simply that he’s never had his soul sucked out of his body this expertly.
Evan doesn’t even realize Tommy’s lips are back around his dick until he teases his teeth along the top of his tip, soothing it immediately with a pass of his tongue, ellissiting the loudest, most embarrassing sound he’s ever let out in his - numerous - sexual experiences. His fingers are going numb into the fabric of the couch, his nails threatening to strip off. But he’s not close to putting a stop to whatever Tommy had going on; he hasn’t peeped down in a few minutes, scared that the sight of Tommy looking back at him would have him spill way too quickly. He’s biting his tongue now, because he’s just as close and doesn’t know how to let Tommy know.
There’s no actual moment to think because the next second, Tommy’s nose is up against his pubes and he swallows around him once, and twice. And maybe a third time for good measure. And Evan has to let him know he’s about to coat the back of his throat before he’s making a fool of himself, but Tommy’s deadly grip onto his hips is acting on his ability to enunciate anything.
“To-” He’s at least going to try. “Tommy,” he adds. He brings a hand to venture into his curls again, tugging a little hoping he catches the clue. But Tommy is urging on and has his mind set on the goal. He looks up, winks at Evan and takes one last breath before sinking back down fully, swishing his tongue on the bottom of Evan’s dick and managing to bring it out just enough to give his balls some attention.
Evan’s ears start ringing, he’s seeing white. Am I fucking dying? Then Tommy pulls back and tugs on him a few times until the string snaps and he’s emptying himself into the cup Tommy formed with his tongue, moaning and screaming and gasping for air and he’s panicking at the never ending ropes. He’d come again if he had any energy left when Tommy retrieves his tongue and swallows his load with a deep groan of satisfaction.
“I knew you’d be fucking sweet,” he states. Tommy runs his hands along Evan’s thighs, soothing the downfall of such a high. He kisses along the muscles of his stomach and up to his neck, where he lays a long, open-mouth kiss to the sweet spot behind his ear. “Was that okay?” He’s genuinely asking.
“You’ve gotta stop doubting yourself, sir.” Evan puffs out a laugh. “This, um - This was the best fucking thing I’ve ever experienced.” He leans back into the couch and runs a hand into his hair, still unsure if the light from earlier wasn’t the end of the tunnel. But the warmth Tommy radiates around his body proves he’s still very alive..
“Well, I’m glad you had a good time, baby,” Tommy answers, daring a quick peck to his lips. He gets up and extends his hands to help Evan up also, making the poor boy realize the big problem he’s created;
“Do you, um. Should I-” He looks down.
“Oh, kitten, no. Don’t worry about me, okay?” Tommy deflects his intentions, hoping to buy himself a separate alone time with the pretty boy. “Plus, I’ll see you tomorrow for your appointment, huh?” He winks. Evan makes a mental note to be refreshed and energized for the day, already planning his undeniable turn for the deed. There’s a light stress in his chest at the thought of having his first experience as a giver with a man be so soon. But he’s on fire standing in front of the most handsome man he’s ever seen, who’s more than likely going to ravish him as soon as he lifts a finger, so he’s not going to fuck this chance up.
“I’ll be there on time, sir.” He nods, walking with Tommy to the front door. He owes him at least a decent goodnight.
“Bring that cute smile of yours.” Tommy has Evan blushing effortlessly, but he’s feeling a little bold. Before Tommy’s hand can turn the handle, he’s got him plastered to the door, and rushes to kiss him silly, moaning and toying with his tongue until they’re both breathless again - and as a preview, lets his hand cup at the slowly dying erection in Tommy’s jeans, earning a playful bite to his bottom lip.
“I’ll bring more than that.”

“The fans can't wait to see that. Y/n, have you always been a fan of Ghost Rider or have you found out recently who he is?” the host said.
“I have always been a nerd when it comes to Ghost Rider. He is my favorite character and I'm glad the movie and the show will be accurate to his storyline” You smiled.
“He has told me many Ghost Rider facts that I didn't know. For his birthday, I got him a Ghost Rider poster and t-shirt, and he stop smiling about it” Scarlett said.
“That was a cool gift” You smiled.
Much later, you went out with the cast to eat. Some fans did take pictures with you then you signed a few autographs.

Slight of Hands
Summary: A woman snuck her way onto the polar tang by tricking Shachi and Penguin but Law is quick to realize her antics.
A/N: idk I thought this was fun to write but may or may not continue it later 🤷🏼♀️ but if i do it will probably switch to 2nd POV. I was listening to the song Mine by Christina Perri when writing this and wanted a very flirty and sly vibe from this character.
Chapter 2
----
Law watched as his two closest crewmates, Shachi and Penguin, staggered to the Polar Tang dragging a beautiful woman beside them. They were full of giggles, waving their hands around as they introduced their sub.
Law's jaw clenched at the actions of his drunken crewmates claiming the sub as their own. When the two spotted the man on the deck, they ran up to him. "And thissss is our first mate Lawwww," Shachi announced, stumbling over his words. Law slapped the hand off his shoulder and glared at his crewmate.
Penguin leaned to his ear. "Captain, please go along. We are trying to impress her."
Law rolled his eyes before looking at the woman they were referring to. She stood tall and clearly not as drunk as the two who dragged her to this ship. Law smirked when he noticed a glint in her eyes, a familiar look. Most women with an innocent facade wouldn't come close to a pirate ship, but Law knew she had an ulterior motive.
The two boys jumped off Law and up to the woman who waited patiently. Excitedly, she followed behind as they started their tour of the sub. Law watched carefully, trailing them just out of earshot. As the three made their way through, Law smirked, proven right by the woman pocketing anything of value they passed.
When they finally left the sub, the woman left with a large, successful grin, waving goodbye to the boys who whined for her to stay.
Law sat on a crate just outside of his sub, a wide shit-eating grin plastered on his face. "So, how long have you been hustling them?" He asked with a snicker.
The woman snapped in his direction, her innocent expression falling and twisting into an evil smirk as her stance relaxed. "About three hours," she laughed. "I will admit, Law, I did need to get a few more drinks in your crew than I thought I would need."
Law stood up. "So you know who I am." He glared at her and she shrugged. "Either way, you might have fooled my crew, but not me." He gestured to her pockets. She feigned surprise, throwing her hands in her pockets only to pull out grains of rice. Law smirked. This whole time he had been using his Shambles ability to switch the valuables she stole with rice of equal weight.
Law watched her expression, hoping to see her look defeated. However, it never came. She began to laugh. "Ah, Law, if only that was what I was after!" She pulled out a Den Den Mushi and it flashed in his face, disorienting him.
Law rubbed his eyes before looking up to see the woman gone. His amused face dropped to frustration. "Shachi! Penguin!" He yelled. The two poked their heads over the deck, "You brought a damn Marine spy on the sub!" The two immediately started shrinking away from his glare.
Law used his power to transport the two to the ground in front of him where they collapsed on each other. "Go fix it!" He yelled, scaring the two to their feet and running down the street.
A laugh echoed from an alley across the way. "Is that what you think I am?"
Law reached for his Kikoku pulling it out of its scabbard. The woman leaned on the wall of the alley, "I guess your not too far off though." She laughed and his head began to swim with theories on who the woman worked for.
She spun around to walk away but Law shambled himself in front of her stopping her in her tracks. Instead of jumping back from the threatening man she leans towards him. She brushed her hand over his cheek. "You're very cute when you're threatened." She laughs confusing Law before she dances around him and kicks him in the back.
Law falls forward cursing himself for allowing her to sneak by him. He whipped around to find her gone again. A whistle from above him drew his attention to the roof of the building where the woman waved at him with a grin.
Law clenched his jaw before transporting himself to the roof behind her. She jumped up and started to balance on the edge. "Who do you work for?" Law questioned.
"Aw look at you finally asking the real questions." she laughed, "Wait hold that look!" she pulled out her snail and snapped another photo blinding him. Law rubbed his eyes and he heard her laugh echo around him, "Oh that's a keeper, you look like a wet cat."
The veins on Law's forehead began to throb with his anger. "Scaple!" he shouted pointing in the direction he last heard the womans voice.
"op you missed." she taunted as Law regained his vision and his eyes danced around the roof unable to find the woman. "Thanks for the information Trafalgar D. Water Law." the voice echoed.
The name she voiced ranged through Law's ears. He has only told a few people his full name how did she find it? His thoughts spiraled and his vision grew red.
"Tack!"
Everything around the roof that was inside his 'room' began to float. The woman yiped as she was pulled into the air off the porched she jumped down to.
"Scaple!"
Law pointed his sword at her chest and her heart popped out of her chest, in a blue cube. The woman tried to grab her heart back but was held in place in the air as the heart floated into Law's hand.
As soon as the heart landed in his hand he dropped everything and the woman landed on the roof. She landed with a thud and a groan reaching for the new whole in her chest. "What the hell!" she shouted at the man who stood triamplely above her.
"Where did you learn that name." he growled.
The woman tsk, "I won't tell." Law looked down at her angrily before squeezing the heart slightly causing the woman to scream in pain and collapse to the ground. She looked up and snarled at the man, "I've been doing my research."
Law frowned not liking the answer and squeezing the heart again, "Where?!" he growled.
The woman screamed again, "Flevance records!" she shouted and collapsed in relief from Law releasing her heart. She looked up with pleading eyes clutching her chest.
The man loomed over her with daggers in his eyes. With a flick of his wrist, the woman was knocked out collapsing to the roof in a restful manner.

MAROON — JACK HUGHES
jack hughes x fem!reader
part of the Midnights Fic List
summary: in which y/n and her best friend, Jack, get drunk on cheap wine and finally confess their feelings in her New York apartment.
specific lyrics: “‘how’d we end up on the floor anyway?’ you say, ‘your roommate’s cheap-ass screw top rosé, that’s how.’” and “the burgundy on my t-shirt when you splashed your wine into me and how the blood rushed into my cheeks” and “i chose you, the one i was dancing with in New York..”
warnings: light profanity, alcohol
notes: i’ve been so excited to write this one. if you guys can’t tell from my other fics, best friends to lovers is my favorite trope so this one was so fun for me to write!
i’ve known the Hughes family my entire life. with my mom and Ellen Hughes being best friends from playing hockey together, i grew up spending my summers at the Hughes lake house and visiting whenever possible. so, of course, i grew close to the three brothers.
Quinn, the oldest, is three years older than me. growing up he was always like the annoying, protective older brother i never had, and he still is.
Luke, the youngest, is a year younger than me. he’s my buddy, the one i go to when i need something set straight for me, and the only guy i know that would sit in his bedroom and miss a party at his own house just so he could comfort me over the phone.
and lastly, Jack. a year older than me, and my best friend since i was born, i guess. my mom and Ellen have always said that as soon as i was born, it was like Jack knew we were meant to be best friends. they claim that when i was a baby and he was one, he would cry until they put him in my crib with me, in which case they swear that it would instantly put a smile on my face. but no matter if those stories are true or not, we have indeed been best friends since diapers.
Jack and i’s friendship has always been different than the ones i have with his brothers, especially when i turned thirteen and started really paying attention to guys. that was the fateful year that Jack graduated from not only being my best friend but also my biggest crush. i started noticing not only how cute he really is, but how sweet he could be, and how comfortable i am with him.
which brings us to now, in my New York apartment, where i’m currently sat on the floor with the guy i’m head over heels in love with, sharing a bottle of wine. it’s the first week of the off-season and he had originally came over to help me pack for the annual lake house trip, but then my roommate popped her head in to ask if we wanted a couple bottles of rosé that she bought on sale. she was about to leave for the airport for her flight back home for the summer and couldn’t bring them with her. so Jack and i shared a quick glance and said yes, and now here we are.
i’m sat with my back against the coffee table, my feet in Jack’s lap.
“hey, do you remember that time- when uh- when Luke jumped into the lake from the rope swing, and just completely belly flopped?” Jack’s words were broken up between fits of laughter, and i burst out in laughter, as well, at the memory.
“oh my god yes! his entire chest and stomach were red!” it’s a wonder how we’ve yet to get a noise complaint from my neighbors by now. as our laughter dies down, Jack shifts around.
“my ass is numb from the hardwood.” he tells me, and the casual announcement makes me double over in laughter once more.
“how’d we end up on the floor, anyway?” i wonder out loud.
“your roommates cheap-ass screw top rosé, that’s how!” he exclaims through giggles. i don’t laugh with him, instead i stay silent, studying him. he’s so beautiful.
Jack stands from the floor, letting my feet roll of his lap and land with a thump. grabbing the empty wine bottle and our glasses from the coffee table, he goes into the kitchen. i watch him as he grabs my bottle of red wine from the fridge, refilling our glasses before walking back to me. he bends down to hand me my glass, but in his inebriated state, he doesn’t pay attention to his own glass in his hand and his wine splashes onto my white t-shirt. the burgundy liquid staining and leaving the shirt slightly see through, clinging to my braless chest.
“oh shit, sorry y/n/n!” his eyes go wide and he stares at my chest. logically, i know he’s just looking at the stain and not my breasts, but blood rushes into my cheeks at the thought of him eyeing my chest.
“it’s fine!” i wave it off, as i stand to go change. “i’ll be right back.”
i go into my bedroom and ruffle through the shirts that i don’t have packed for the summer, picking out an old USA Hockey shirt of Jack’s.
i step back out into the living room to find Jack had put on one of my vinyl’s, i watch as he dances around my living room to the sound of Photograph by Ed Sheeran. a smile breaks across my face as he just spins around the room. finally spotting me, he walks over and holds his hand out.
“dance with me, belle.” my heart flutters at his use of the nickname he started calling me in high school. he never explained why he started calling me ‘belle’, all i know is that one day when i had met him after his french class and my spanish class, he said he had a new nickname for me, and he’s called me ‘belle’ ever since. usually the nickname seems to be reserved for special moments or when it’s just the two of us.
i slip my hand in his, allowing him to pull me closer. his hands take hold of my arms, sliding them up onto his shoulders, and he wraps his arms around my waist, swaying us around the living room. he gazes down at me, a soft smile on his face and an unreadable emotion present in his eyes.
“hi.” his voice is barely a whisper.
“hi.” i reply in the same low volume. his eyes flicker over my face and his cheeks turn pink. making me ask- “what are you thinking?”
“i’m thinking that i’ve wanted to be in this position since high school.” his words confuse me. but my heart speeds up, as if it knows what he means before my brain does.
“dancing?” i laugh halfheartedly.
“you in my arms. just the two of us.” he clarifies and i can feel myself blush for the second time tonight.
“if you wanted me to yourself, you could’ve just asked.” i joke.
“i don’t just want you to myself.” he whispers. “i want you to be mine.”
his reply causes me to stumble a step, and my heart feels like it might beat out of my chest.
“don’t say things you don’t mean, Jack.” i tell him. suddenly, i feel insecure and afraid. i’ve never felt this way with him. other guys, sure. but never him.
“why would you think i don’t mean what i’m saying?” he stops our dancing and i only just realize that the song has changed. my arms slip off his shoulders, dropping back down to my sides, but his hands never leave my hips. “y/n, do you think i would say something like that if i don’t mean it?”
“i don’t know.” i mumble, shrugging my shoulders. he brings a hand up to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear, before letting it fall back down to my hip.
“i’ve been in love with you since high school, y/n/n. i thought by now you would’ve caught on, but i guess that’s on me because you always have been pretty oblivious when it comes to flirting.” he laughs.
“wait, what?” i ask. please don’t be messing with me. please be telling the truth.
“did you really not know? look if this is too much, if you don’t like me like that, then just tell me. straight out. because i don’t want to compromise our friendship with this confession. we can just forget it ever happened.” that sobers me up real quickly.
“wait, no, hold on. i never said i didn’t like you.” i rebut.
“what are you saying?” by the smirk on his face, i know he knows what i’m saying, but i take a deep breath and clarify anyways.
“jack, i’ve liked you since i was thirteen.” i confess. “i didn’t think you thought of me as anything more than your annoying best friend though.”
“y/n, i literally gave you a nickname that translates to ‘beautiful’ and you thought i was looking at you like ‘oh yeah that’s my best friend, she’s so annoying’?” he asks.
“what? is that what that means?” my tone is incredulous. i assumed he was calling me ‘belle’ like princess belle because i like to read.
“oh my god, you really had no idea? i literally gave you that nickname after we learned the word in french class. you were the first thing that popped in my head when we learned it.”
i can’t take any more talking. Jack starts to say something else but i cut him off by pressing my lips against his. it doesn’t take him more than a second to start kissing back, his lips locking with mine.
i pull back, breathless and anxious, but the smile Jack wears eases my nerves.
“so you like me, huh?” he jokes.
“oh shut up.” i roll my eyes, giving his shoulder a playful shoulder.
**BONUS SCENE**
we’ve been at the lake house for three days and so far, no one has even noticed that Jack and i are officially dating. have we really always been this touchy?
Jack and i have made a game out of it, guessing who the first person to notice will be. he says Ellen or my mom, but i say Quinn or Luke. we both know our dads don’t pay enough attention to catch onto anything.
i walk down the stairs, prepared to grab a snack before us ‘kids’ head out on the boat. Ellen and my mom sit in the kitchen talking, but go silent as soon as i walk in.
“heyyy.” i drag out, eyeing them suspiciously.
“hi, honey.” Ellen gives me a kiss on the forehead as i stop in front of them.
“what were you two talking about?” i ask.
“nothing.” they say in unison, shaking their heads.
“i believe you, not at all.” i joke, opening a cupboard to grab a granola bar. “what was it?”
“they were talking about you and Jack.” Luke says, walking out from the walk-in pantry. “mom was saying she thinks they should set you guys up on a blind date with each other.”
“Luke Warren Hughes! how long have you been in there?!” Ellen scolds, not even bothering to deny his claims.
“i was looking for something to eat, you’re the ones who came in gossiping.” he shrugs. before Ellen can refute, Jack walks in from the same way i came. wrapping an arm around my shoulders, he stops next to me.
“what are you guys talking about?” Jack asks.
“our moms wanted to set us up on a blind date.” i say, a sly smile on my lips as i look up at him.
Jack lets out a chuckle before directing his gaze to his mom.
“sorry, no can do mom. i’ve got a girlfriend.” he smiles, and i have to bite back a grin. it’s the first time he’s called me his girlfriend. i like it.
“you what?!” Ellen exclaims. “why have i not met her? or even heard about her?”
“it’s a recent development.” Jack shrugs. “anyways, i’m gonna steal y/n/n here. Quinn is waiting for us at the boat. Luke, c’mon.”
before i can even think to take a step, Jack sweeps my feet off the ground, throwing me over his shoulder and walking away. i smack at his back with my free hand while one still clutches my granola bar.
“Jack Rowden Hughes, put me down! right now!” he barks out a laugh and i can feel his neck shift against me like he’s moving his head around before he lands a smack against my ass. “HEY!”
he ignores my struggles, walking down to the dock, all the way to the boat before finally setting me down.
“i can walk. i have legs.” i laugh.
“i know, but i wanted to carry you.” he grins down at me. i scan the dock for Quinn, but with no sight of him i relax.
“you just wanted an excuse to stare at my ass.” i joke. Jack hooks his fingers through the front belt loops on my shorts, tugging me closer so that i’m pressed up against him.
“and is that a crime?” he asks. i smile up at him, sending one last glance toward the house over his shoulder, not seeing Quinn or Luke. i lean up, planting a kiss on his lips.
“what the fuck?!!” the exclamation comes from behind me and i pull back, spinning around quickly to find Quinn stood on the boat. he’s leaned over the side, staring at Jack and i with a dropped jaw.
“oh- hi, Quinny.” i smile, painting on a face of innocence. Quinn’s eyes dart between me and Jack.
“when the hell did this happen?” he asks. “i knew i never should’ve let you move to New York. he’s corrupted you. i should’ve insisted you moved to Vancouver, but no, i said ‘if New York is where she wants to be, i won’t push.’ i should’ve pushed.”
i look over to Jack, sharing an amused smile with my boyfriend as his brother rambles on.
“Quinn.” i interrupt. he stops, throwing me a raised brow before giving a side eye to his younger brother. “did you really think this wouldn’t happen eventually?”
he sighs, before nodding.
“i know. i expected this. i prepared for this.” it’s my turn to quirk a brow now.
“you prepared for this?” i ask. he nods and hops onto the dock.
“okay, it’s time for us to talk. Jack, y/n, when a man and a woman love each other very much, sometimes-”
“oH MY GOD.” i shout. plugging my fingers in my ears. “la la la la la i can’t hear you! i am not currently getting the sex talk from my boyfriends older brother! la la la la la.”
Quinn’s face lights up and he burst out in laughter. i take my fingers out of my ears, eyeing him.
“oh, that was good! you should’ve seen your faces!” he laughs. i turn to look at Jack, who still wears a disgusted grimace. i pat his chest and let out a sigh. “seriously, i’ll be right back though.”
Quinn takes off in a jog towards the lake house, but before he disappears inside, i hear him yell.
“MOM! YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!”
Jack finally unfreezes from his state of disgust. pulling out his wallet and handing me a twenty dollar bill.
“you won.”

Summary: It's not a date, but you know it is.
Chapter 5
Saturday Night. July 2007
Isabel still felt the warmth of his hand as they were being driven to an undisclosed location. She felt excited because nobody had done this before, but she was also curious if he had planned this by himself or with some help.
Satoru came up with the idea on a whim, he didn’t plan all the major details on how to make this the best night for her. He knew he could always ask her what to do after, but he felt he wasn’t sure what Isabel would think of him. Would she judge him for taking her out and then asking her what else they should do?
He started to notice that her grip on his hand was loosening. He grew worried that she finally got too uncomfortable and wanted to let go. Just when he had noticed that she was starting to lean her neck to the side, she fell asleep. Rather than let her neck hang to the side and become sore, he decides to move her head towards his arm. When she began to nuzzle against his arm, a pink hue appeared on his cheeks. She didn't move, and that was a great comfort to him; it meant she was becoming more comfortable with touching him.
The route to the undisclosed location was very busy. Traffic was lining up from the freeway’s exit.
“There’s no other way to get around, we’ll have to sit here for a little while.” the driver informed Satoru.
“It’s fine. Thanks a lot for this.” Satoru responded.
“...I can’t wait for this”, Isabel responded sleepily.
“You don’t need to wake up yet, Izzy. You can keep sleeping.” He said softly, as to not awaken her.
The radio was on. The station that the driver had been listening to was mostly playing 80’s music. Satoru began to reflect on the first time he spoke to Isabel about John Hughes's movies. He figured at some point he should have a movie night with her and his friends. He’s sure they’ll like her a lot too.
And when she wakes up and makes up her mi-i-ind//she’ll see I’m not so tough just because I’m in love with an uptown girl
Satoru smiled at hearing this particular lyric.
As the cars were all honking, trying to cut in front of each other to go into moving lanes, they all ascended a hill. She was slowly waking up. As she felt the car going up and making turns, she was trying to guess quietly where she could be going. “Where could we be?” she thought.
“Alright, we’re here.” the driver announced.
“Hey Izzy, wake up. We’re finally here!” Satoru’s excitement couldn’t be contained. He hoped that she would be excited with him, but only time will tell.
“Can I take off my blindfold now?” Isabel asked.
“Nope! Not until we get out of the car.” he grinned.
Satoru stepped out and opened the door for her. He helped her by grabbing her arm. “As fun as it would be to let you fall, I know you would be pretty mad.”
“I’d actually cry, dude.” Isabel attempted to shove him, but she couldn’t see him. He began to laugh at her.
“Who are you trying to push? Me?”
“No, the holy spirit. Yes, you, Sherlock.” with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.
“Gotta do better than that.”
He grabbed her arm and they walked ahead. The evening was entering the scene. The sky went from a purple hue and it was getting darker. The street lamps were illuminating. Cars were parked everywhere. People were observing the skyline nearby.
“Okay, NOW can I take off this blindfold?”
“No, I’ll do it.”
“Ugh, where are we?!”
“Just be patient.”
“I’m not a patient person.”
“I can see that now.”
She sticks out her tongue at Satoru. Of course, she can only assume that he’s standing next to her, so he’s able to see this gesture. It makes him laugh.
“Woman, stop being a brat. We’re here.”
He removes the blindfold.
“Dude how did you know I wanted to be here?!”
“I didn’t, I just thought it would be a good idea for me to check it out, but I guess I knocked down two birds with one stone.”
“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to come back to the observatory!” she smiled ear to ear and began to jump up and down.
“You’re such a dork. It’s really cute actually.”
She immediately stopped jumping, feeling embarrassed by this comment. Now that she thinks about it, it’s not a word she hears often from others. It wasn’t missing, but she can’t help but feel that there’s something there.
“Aww come on, don’t stop, Izzy. I like seeing this side of you. I feel like you’re letting me get to know you”, Satoru says with a grin.
Was this the risk that Mariella was talking about? Isabel was concerned that her actions would make him not like her anymore. It was a growing insecurity on her part. His words can be a form of reassurance, but she knows she needs to believe that people can be honest and truthful with good intentions.
Satoru did like seeing that Izzy was letting him see this side of her. His friends are not necessarily the excited type. Shoko is mostly laid back and goes along with whatever he and Suguru decide to do. Suguru was his partner in crime, they do mostly everything together. These days, they’re either going to the beach, hanging out at the pool, or going on random food runs.
As they reached the rotunda of the observatory, there was a pendulum at the center of the room. People were surrounding it and staring at the bottom. The pendulum was slowly knocking down some pegs beneath it.
“Do you know what a pendulum is?” Isabel asked Satoru.
“Sure. It’s moving back and forth using the force of gravity to move, right? As it’s doing that, it’s going to slowly knock those thingies out, right?”
“Yep!” Isabel said with a giant smile.
“Cool, now what’s my reward for answering correctly?”
“The gift of nothing!” she smirks.
“Ugh, I thought it would be something else.”
“No idea what you’re talking about…” Isabel walked away as her face was turning tomato red. Satoru quickly followed right behind her as they made their way further inside.
As they enter past the rotunda, they’re making their way through various galleries. They see a giant crowd of people gathering in a specific area. They decide to see what the commotion is. Isabel is not tall at all, so she pushes her way to the front of where everyone is standing. When she reaches the front, she discovers that she is standing in front of a giant orb. When she reads the sign, it reads Tesla Coil. Satoru shoves his way to the front, despite that his tall stature might be bothersome. He doesn’t care at the moment. He wants to be close to her and continue admiring her. The lights began to dim and a speaker was at the front.
“Welcome everyone! You might be wondering what a Tesla Coil is. Rather than just explain it right now, I’ll demonstrate how it works. 3, 2, 1.”
BZZZZZZ, BZZZZZ. Electricity began to run. Sparks were contained. The sound was so startling that Isabel grasped onto Satoru’s arm so tightly and pressed her face against it. She peeked from one eye to observe what it looked like. Realizing what she had done, she let go as fast as she could. Satoru looked down at her. Noticing that she now can’t look at him and she’s staring down at her shoes.
“Don’t be scared, Izzy. Look it’s all contained! Plus, you were so excited to see it too!” he offered her his hand to comfort her. Rather than taking the entire hand, this time she only decided to hold onto his pinky.
Why did I do that? I already held his hand once in the car. Ughhh, I’m such a weirdo.
“As you can see two wires are running to create this current of electricity. One is a green one and the other is a copper coil, which is what ultimately makes the Tesla Coil work. This coil is plugged in just like any electronic appliance in your house. When the electricity reaches the top of the coil, the electricity produced is 500,000 volts. That’s a lot!”
The speaker decides to demonstrate the use of the coil once again. BZZZZZ BZZZZZZ. The noise was starting to create anxiety inside of Isabel. She didn’t know if she didn’t like the noise, but Satoru got the hint. He grabbed her hand and they walked away from it.
“Hey, we don’t have to do anything, you don’t like, okay? I just want to make sure you have fun.”
“I’m sorry.” she blushed and felt embarrassed by not being able to tolerate the noise.
“You have nothing to be sorry for. Let’s keep walking around. You don’t have to let go, by the way.”
Her smile displayed the dimple on her right side. To him, this was her cutest feature. He wondered if he could continue to make her smile throughout the night. What exhibits will bring out this joyful side of her? There’s so much that he needs to know about her. So much more to see.
I have to make the best of tonight. She seems so happy too.
Isabel felt a lot better as they walked through the exhibits. They observed how the moon can affect the tides of the ocean due to the forces of gravity; they learned how seasons worked due to the sun and the rotation of the Earth. Space was such a magnificent thing to learn about for her. Too many knowns and unknowns exist; just like her relationship with her and Satoru.
“Hey there was something back towards the rotunda about shows taking place at the planetarium, do you want to check it out?” Satoru asked.
“Sure! I wonder when’s the next showing.” Isabel said excitedly.
Arriving at the counter, they saw the next show was called Centered in the Universe. It was the next show in 5 minutes. She wanted to purchase both tickets, but before she took out her wallet, Satoru beat her.
“No. You do not get to pay for anything while I’m here.”
“Why? I can pay for it though.” she giggled.
We’re on a date, can’t you tell?
“Whenever we go out, I don’t want you to worry about paying for me.”
“Are you loaded or something?”
“You could say that.”
“Is there anything that I could buy for you?”
“No! It’s fine, Izzy. I just want to make sure you’ll have fun and keep having fun while I’m here.”
She blushed, but she relented. She wasn’t comfortable with this gesture on Satoru’s part, but if he insisted, she knew it was a battle that she wasn’t going to win; they made their way to the terrace where they entered the planetarium. The seats reclined and it allowed them to view the ceiling. It was displaying a starry sky right above them. Isabel was observing the different constellations that were displayed above them.
“That one right there is the Big Dipper. Then not too far away, is the Little Dipper. The shiniest star at the end of the handle is the North Star. You’re supposed to use it to find your way if you get lost.”
“You could say that I’m the Big Dipper and you’re the Little Dipper.” Satoru whispered to Isabel. She immediately blushed and tried to look away from him. “You’re so cheesy” were the only words she was able to muster back. Her heart was beating faster as they continued to hold hands and Satoru shared this sweet flirtation with her.
“And yet, you’re still here next to me.” he moves to grab her hand once again. “Tell me what else I should see,” he asks her excitedly.
“The one that looks like a stick figure is Orion. He is technically holding an arrow. That’s as much as I know, I don’t stargaze too often.” she turns away from him to keep staring at the ceiling. She’s smiling and hopes that this night never ends.
The planetarium begins to dim. A presentation begins with a presenter holding an orb to represent the sun. Projections appear on the ceiling to show the entire solar system. The sun is the center of the universe. Planets that exist beyond Earth. Stars that are born and then die. At this moment, Isabel felt small. Satoru shared this feeling too. They’re two individuals who are small in this entire universe. Satoru rubs his thumb on her hand as they’re holding it together. There’s more to discover outside of Earth, the same way that there’s so much to know about each other.
Before they knew it, the presentation was over. The light turned on again. The audience exited the building and it led them to the terrace. Isabel led the way to a corner of the terrace to allow Satoru to see the city’s skyline. The wind began to blow as Isabel was standing on the terrace. It was a secluded area away from all the other guests. He stood right behind her. She turned around and there was a glow to her where he was standing. She sees that there is a hint of pink on her cheeks as she’s smiling at him.
“So what do you think?” she asks him.
“This is wonderful. All of it.” he crouches down to whisper in her ear. “I’m glad we got to come here tonight.”
“...Toru, what are we doing?” she turns around. He’s looking at her.
“I don’t know yet…” he places his hands on her waist. She places her hands on his arms.
“Can we talk about it?” the wind starts to blow. Her hair moves towards her face. He moves it away to place it behind her ear.
“...I think I like like you. I don’t know how possible it is to be around each other as you’re going home soon.”
“Izzy…I knew there was a way I charmed my way into your heart.” he smiles.
“Oh my god, shut up” she begins to laugh.
“I think you’re cool. You’re so smart and you know a whole lot about movies and music. I want to continue to get to know someone like you. I know that our time is limited, but I want to make it the best. All this to say, I like you too.”
“I can’t reach you, so do you mind just lowering your head just a little?” as he does so, she kisses his cheek. He turns bright red. He’s not embarrassed, but he feels glad that she was the first to make the first move. It reveals how brave she is. This means he will also need to be brave for her. To return this gesture, he kisses her on top of her head.
“Whatever happens, you’re special to me. I won’t forget you that easily.”
“If you say so, Toru.” as she proceeds to hug him. “I’m feeling hungry, do you have any ideas where we will go?”
“No, I was hoping you knew” he laughs.
“Ugh, fine. I know the spot! Have you ever had pupusas before?”
“No, but I hope they’re good.”
“Trust me, you’ll love them! I know a spot not too far from here.”
“Lead the way.”
They walk towards the entrance hand in hand. The stars are shining brightly tonight, just for them.

Can't Help Falling In Love
a/n: super duper thanks to @lilmaymayy you are the best 🤍
“You can think that you're in love, when you're really just engaged.”
September 11, 2023
Angelisse stood in front of the podium. She was going to give a talk to the clients of the firm she was working at. “Good morning, everyone,” she said, smiling at the crowd. “I'm glad you could all make it here today. As a financial consultant, my job is to help people manage their finances and make wise decisions about how they spend their money.” Angelisse took a deep breath before continuing. “In today's economy, it can seem difficult to know where to start when it comes to managing your finances,” she explained, a warm, welcoming smile on her face. “But don't worry, I'm here to help make your savings work for you and ensure that your hard-earned money is secured and invested wisely.”
“Let's start with establishing a budget...”
“You did an amazing job today, Angelisse,” her boss praised. “Your presentation was informative, engaging, and your energy was just contagious. The board has been discussing, and you are one of the candidates we are considering for a promotion.”
“Mooooom,” Angelisse squealed happily, biting back a smile as she sat across from her mother at the dining room table. “I have some big news for you.”
Her mom, Jean, looked up from her book, her brow creased with curiosity. “What is it, sweetheart? Is everything alright?”
Angelisse took a breath and continued. “I'm being considered for a promotion!”
“Wow, that's amazing, Angelisse!” her mom said excitedly. “I'm so proud of you.”
Angelisse chuckled. “I know it's just a candidate, so nothing is guaranteed yet," she said, trying to keep herself from getting her hopes up.
But her mom just smiled and waved her concerns away. “You deserve it, sweetheart. There's no doubt that you'll get that promotion. I know you worked really hard to get where you are, and you should be proud of that.”
Still reeling from today’s high, Angelisse realised that there was one more person to tell about today’s events. She walked to her room, propping open her laptop, deciding to call her boyfriend, James. “Hey babe, I miss you so much, how are you?" Angelisse asked James, now beginning to wander around her room, attempting to prepare her work clothes for the next day.
James chuckled as he watched Angelisse pace back and forth in her room. “I've just been busy with work, cara mia,” he replied, his tone relaxed. “What about you?”
Angelisse paused as she stopped at her vanity table, finally picking out her outfit for the next day. "Well, I actually had an important meeting with my boss today," she answered. “And get this, “I'm a candidate for a promotion!”
“Oh my god, t-that's great! But I think I have even better news for you,” James teased.
“What is it?” Angelisse asked.
“Guess for it," James chuckled.
“Oh come onnn, you know I don't like guessing games. Tell me, what is it?”
“I'm flying to New York in three days!” James announced, waving a ticket in front of the screen.
“W-What?” Angelisse stared at her laptop in shock as James made the announcement. “You're coming to New York?” she asked, a little bit high-pitched from disbelief. “But what about your job?”
James laughed, “It's just for three days, babe. I asked for some vacation days, and my boss was completely understanding of our situation. I've just been wanting to see you so badly lately, and I know you miss me just as much as I miss you."
“So that’s why? You're flying from Italy to New York just because you miss me?”
“I have something important to do.” James smiled cheekily.
September 15, 2023
James was on one knee, and his and Angelisse's families were around them. “We’ve been together for six years. And let me say that each and every year was the best year of my life. Every day, I'm convinced that you are the reason why my life is complete. So let's make it legal. Are you willing to spend forever with me?”
Angelisse struggled to catch her breath; she felt suffocated, caught off guard by the sudden proposal in the middle of a family gathering. Her mother was crying, and everyone else had their phones on video, waiting for her answer.
“How can I say no?” she whispered. How could she even say no? Everyone in the room had their cameras in her face, pressuring her into the decision. She loved James, truly, but deep down, it felt like a wrong decision. Angelissed brushed it off and forced a smile.
“Is that a yes?” James asked hopefully.
“Y-yes, yes.”
“Yes? She said yes!” Everyone in the room erupted into cheers while James happily rose to his feet and swept Angelisse into a hug. James then put her down, reaching for her hand, sliding a beautiful diamond ring on her finger, pocketing the small velvet box it came from. “This is for you, my love, to signify my eternal love and commitment,” James said as he looked down at Angelisse's finger, then looking back up, meeting her eyes.
“Congratulations,” Jean smiled as she walked up to hug her daughter, “It's so beautiful.” she admired her daughter's ring. “You know, your dad never gave me anything like this before. You're so lucky.”
“Of course, Mom, I am.” she said, forcing a smile. She was supposed to be happy, but deep inside she couldn't.
“I'm so happy for you," Jean said, hugging her daughter. “You made me really happy. Out of all of the mistakes I made in my life, I feel like you're the only thing I got right,” she cupped Angelisse's face in her hands. “I love you, my angel.”
“I love you too, Mom.”
The next day, Angelisse felt a sense of dread about going back to meet with both their families. She sighed and mustered up every bit of courage and patience she had before walking out of her bedroom.
“My future daughter-in-law.” James' father, Arthur, smiled as Angelisse sat down beside the family.
“So, where do you plan to have the wedding? The church or the beach?” Arthur asked, a wide smile on his face.
"Oh yes, destination weddings are the trend these days.” James' sister, Jenna, piped up.
“Church or?” James' mom, Alma, asked.
"Actually, we still haven't decided, Mrs. Bernardi," Angelisse answered, her hands sweating. The older woman chuckled. “From now on, call me mom; after all, you have to get used to it. So, when do you plan to get married?”
“In two years," Angelisse said, while James said, “Next year.” Everyone at the table looked at James and Angelisse, “Babe, we talked about this last night.”
“Oh, yes. That's right, sorry.” Angelisse mumbled. She really didn’t want to rush this, but James seemed adamant on getting married as soon as possible. Still, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was making the wrong choice.
“Here's the plan: I'll review for the bar exams so I can practice law in Italy; we get married next year; I'll finish my bar exams; I'll work in a firm; and after that, you'll move in with me in Italy.”
Angelisse looked at James, “Uh, my boss talked to me about this promotion.”
“I'm sure you'll get a job as soon as you want in Italy.” he smiled.
Angelisse sighed. She didn't have any other options regarding the promotion she really wanted to get. Even if she worked hard for it, she'd end up leaving it all behind to move to another country and go back to zero.
The day after James and his family went back to Italy, Angelisse received an unknown document. She ripped the envelope open and started to read.
February 14th, 2022. Valentines day.
“This is to certify that Timothée Hal Chalamet and Angelisse Emmanuelle Evans were married on February 14, 2022, in the state of Nevada.”
Angelisse's eyes widened as her eyes scanned the document again and again, realizing the gravity of the document she held in her hands. Coming back to her senses, Angelisse bolted into her room, locking the door shut behind her.
“Valentines day, Valentines day, what the fuck happened last Valentines day!?” Angelisse muttered, pacing around her room as she tried to remember what happened on that day.
“Oh, baby, I think I'm in love with you,”
“Marry me?”
“Well, I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go to. No one will know.”
“Oh fuck, Kate's bachelorette party.”
Her best friend's bachelorette party in Las Vegas on the night of February 13th, up until the morning of Valentines day almost two years ago. Memories of that night came flashing back at her; she got drunk—apparently wasted. That night was filled with alcohol and bad decisions. But the rest of the night was missing. Angelisse grabbed her phone from her nightstand and dialed her best friend's number.
“Hey, Angel! What’s up?” Kate asked, her voice cheerful.
“Hey Kate, can I ask you something?” Angelisse asked as soon as Kate answered. Her heart was pounding. She was fucking married to a complete stranger! On a drunken night, in Vegas! How the hell did that even happen?
“Do you remember your bachelorette party?” Angelisse asked, her voice coming out more as a squeak.
“Of course,” Kate chuckled. “It was a wild night.” she giggled. “What about it?” she asked curiously.
“Where did you say again that you found me the morning after your bachelorette?” There was a pause at the end of the line—a pause so deafening that Angelisse could hear her own heart rapidly beating. “You were out on the street in front of a casino,” she said after a while.
“A street?” Angelisse choked.
“Yeah, you passed out on the sidewalk," Kate said matter-of-factly. “You’re lucky we found you before anyone else did.” she added with a laugh.
They had found her the next morning on the sidewalk—the fucking sidewalk! Angelisse's head started spinning; she was married. Married to a complete stranger. In Vegas, drunk and stupid. She was fucked—absolutely fucked.
“Girl, I'm fucked.”

the king and the nanny: ch2
bowser x gn!reader
1.75k words
part 2 of 4
rated: T (for now)
summary: you’re happy with your lot as nanny to the koopalings... until a chance encounter with the king sets your life off in a very different trajectory. this time, you're off on a race.
like what i do? buy me a kofi
You think it will be a while before you really see Bowser again. He is the king after all, he has important duties to see to. More important than you anyway, you tell yourself, resigned.
Imagine your surprise, then, when you walk into the game room and see him on the very beanbag you had him sat on last night, playing a video game with Junior.
Your name is spread as a chorus as the other Koopalings greet you, causing both Bowser and his youngest son to finally tear their attention away from the screen. Junior cheers and runs towards you as the king fights the unruly seat to get to his feet.
“Hey, Junior. You busy beating your dad at golf minigames?”
“Sure am!”
“Well, hey now, ‘beating’ is a strong—”
Bowser goes quiet as you scoop Junior up and rest him on your hip. He blinks.
“You can, uh, pick him up?”
“Of course,” you reply, “I’d have no chance if I couldn’t, would I?”
Bowser stares at your biceps, struck dumb in the moment, and your mind flits to the weight bench you have in your private quarters to train for this job.
“Huh,” Bowser says. There’s that look in his eyes again. The one that you saw the other night. You can feel yourself getting pretty warm, so you quickly wipe your hair out of your face and turn to the Koopalings, hoping to get a handle on the situation.
“What is everyone doing today?”
“Oh!” Lemmy announces, “Seeing as we’re all here, can we go karting?”
The older kids usually do what they want to, and it generally involves terrorising whoever they can get their hands on, but at this suggestion they all look up. You purse your lips and pretend to consider. Really; they don’t have to ask your permission to do anything, but it’s nice that they respect you enough to still hold that power.
“Alright then.”
A cheer goes up throughout the room and the kids start to pick themselves up to leave the room. Junior looks up at his dad.
“Are you coming too, dad?”
“Oh!” says Bowser, as if he hadn’t considered, “Well, uh…”
And he, the king, looks at you for permission too. You hide your smile of endearance behind one of enthusiasm.
“I think that’s a wonderful idea, s— Bowser.”
Bowser lights up, his grin full of teeth and a sincerity that makes your heart flutter. As the kids run ahead, you and Bowser fall into step at the rear. You were worried things would be awkward, considering your… evolving feelings; instead you find yourself lapsing into easy chatter.
“It’s not that I’m not pleased to see you, your majesty—” because you are, you really are, “—but don’t you have more pressing matters to deal with? Armies and the like?”
“Oh, it’s their union mandated day off, it’s fine.”
It takes a moment for that to register.
“Union?”
“Yeah. What, you not a part of the union?”
Bowser blinks, genuinely surprised.
“I didn’t realise there was one.”
“Whoa, you’ve got to join! It’s important that you’re unionised. The union is why we’ve got Taco Tuesday now. I’ll hook you up with the koopa that runs it, he’s a solid dude.”
He slows down when he notices you’ve stopped moving. You’ve been stunned to stillness.
“What?”
“Nothing! I just… I guess I didn’t expect that sort of organisation to be here.”
“Well, of course,” he drops his voice and moves in close. You know this is realistically because he’s trying to be surreptitious, but the sudden proximity makes your heart skip a beat, “You know there’s thousands of them, right? I’m super strong and whatever but in sheer numbers they could kick my ass.”
He winces and looks around to make sure none of his kids caught him using a bad word, relaxes a bit when he sees he’s gotten away with it. You laugh. You could get used to this side of him.
“Okay, I’ll check it out.”
The racing room is merely a turn away, and the two of you walk towards the start line of the huge track he’s had built into his castle for his kids to race on. The Koopalings are setting up their karts, and Bowser walks over to his own before hesitating. Just as he turns to ask you something —
“Will you ride with me?” asks Junior, who’s appeared at your feet. He’s doing those big puppy dog eyes, the ones you can’t say no to.
“Aww, I was gonna ask that,” huffs Wendy. You grin. It’s nice to be so high in demand.
“Next time, Wendy. Promise?”
You keep your promises, so she seems happy with the deal. Junior grabs your hand and excitedly drags you over to his kart where you carefully settle in behind him, careful not to hurt yourself on his spikes. They’re not as sharp as his dad’s but you don’t fancy testing it. Slowly everyone pulls up to the start line. You pat Junior reassuringly on the shoulder.
“Let’s get 'em, buddy.”
Junior grins and gives you a thumbs up, then gets ready to go.
The lights above you count down and you grip the sides of the kart as Junior revs the engine. When he stamps down on the accelerator the force of it pushes you back into your seat, but you find yourself chuckling breathlessly. God, he’s fast! But he easily takes every corner he comes up against - except for one narrow escape where the sidework scrapes against the barrier and you have to raise your leg up just in time - drifting like it’s a sixth sense. Really, it’s pretty impressive considering his age.
You take a look around the track. You’re neck-and-neck for third with Bowser, Ludwig and Roy in front. The king catches you looking and grins, accelerating harder and nosing into the lead against your little tag team.
You take that as a challenge.
“Get the box!” you shout, watching a series of rainbow, shining crates beginning to raise onto the track.
“On it!” Junior replies, skidding the card round another bend and through the power-up. You quickly look down to see what you’ve got - mushroom! Not bad.
“Brace yourself!”
You watch Junior hold onto the wheel even tighter, then slam your item down. It shatters as you get a violent burst of speed, and a torrent of wild, unrestrained laughter peals from your mouth. You overtake Bowser easily - but with just enough time for you to turn around and poke your tongue out at him. He looks flabbergasted, but then his smile just gets wider.
Ludwig only got banana peels, naturally, so he’s been throwing them over his shoulder like his life depends on it. Junior weaves between them easily but one lands right under Roy’s right wheel, causing him to skid out and fall back a few places. You hear him begin to curse in frustration and you make a note to have a word with him later about that language; right now you have a race to win.
Two-thirds of the way through the course. The finish line isn’t far. The two of you pass through another crate and you find yourself in possession of a green shell. You grip it in your dominant hand and rise unsteadily to your feet.
“Hold steady, kid!” you roar over the noise of the engine, line up Ludwig in your sight, and bowl the shell right at him. It’s a perfect strike and you fist-bump in the air, being slammed back down into your seat as Junior steers to avoid his spinning kart.
You’re in the lead - for a moment. Because then you hear the sound of a motor catching up, close. You look to your side and see Bowser closing the distance, inches from overtaking. His face is set with a determined grimace. He’s putting everything he has into the race and for a moment, just for a moment, you think you see the Bowser his enemies see: terrifying and single-minded. And just for that moment? It scares you.
You’re so preoccupied with staring that you don’t notice hitting another crate, and find a banana peel in your hands. Bowser has one too, and then he looks over to you, ferocious in his desire to win.
He takes in the way you’re looking at him, and his face contorts for a second in an emotion you can’t quite read.
And then he gives you the softest smile you’ve ever seen. Kind, gentle. And you realise that no, this is the real Bowser. The dad that races with his kids. The boss that checks his employees look after themselves.
The good man despite the image he projects.
With a little sigh of resignation, you see him toss the banana forward, and make a show of ‘accidentally’ driving right into it. He spins out, blocking his other kids from going past… and you and Junior cross the finish line first.
Confetti goes off and Junior whoops, jumping up onto his bonnet to celebrate his victory. You quickly come back to the moment. And find yourself grinning, hi-fiving the little dude in victory.
“We did it!” he cheers.
“We sure did! Good driving, kid.”
“Did you see that green shell! I thought you were gonna break Ludwig’s kart in half, it was amazing!”
The others have driven up by now and Wendy throws her remaining mushroom down in frustration.
“No fair! There were two of you against us on our own! We’re going again, no help this time!”
“But Wendy, I thought we were going to team up –” you begin, but hold back a laugh when she replies:
“I’m sorry, maybe next time, but this is a matter of pride. Let’s go!”
The Koopalings all seem to agree and begin to head back to the start line. You watch them with a smile and become aware of a presence behind you.
“Not going again?”
Bowser is watching the kids too, a look of pride in his eyes.
“No, one race is quite enough for me. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but your children drive like maniacs.”
He laughs at that, his maw opening wide so you can see all his many, many teeth. You’re not afraid. In fact you’re feeling something else entirely, something you’re not sure that you want to address right now. You try to hide the warmth in your cheeks and hope the king doesn’t notice.
Oh no. You aren’t just in trouble, you realise.
You really have a crush on the king.
You’re fucked.

One thing the guys had to learn quickly when they finally got on the road for their first “tour”—basically an extended road trip in the van, hitting different summer fests through the Midwest—was that injuries happened.
Cuts, bruises, pulled muscles, a sprained wrist, sunburns.
But the worst of all?
"Guys, my stomach really hurts."
A tummy ache.
They happened quite a bit, and they struck hard, especially with all of the fried foods and gas station snacks that the guys were eating.
Not to mention all of the cheese festivals they hit in Wisconsin while Eddie had a bad case of lactose intolerance.
"It's ok guys," he'd pant from the inside of many-a-port-a-potty. "I'll be fine."
But they struck especially hard with Gareth, Corroded Coffin's personal garbage disposal.
“Guess you guys never noticed when my mom bought all the snacks for us,” he shrugged off the complaints about him eating them out of house and home. “I’m a growing boy.”
“Growing boy my ass Gare,” Jeff shoved him out of the way as they headed into the gas station for yet another snack run. “If this was a growth spurt, you’d be taller by now, Jesus.”
“Hey!!!”
The unfortunate thing about that was that his eyes were often bigger than his stomach, and for a kid who'd never left Indiana before, he never knew when he was about to get the chance to try some of these local favorites again.
Deep Dish in Chicago, Skyline Chili in Cincinnati, Beer-boiled Brats in Milwaukee
What did him in, or so they all thought, was a piece of Gooey Butter Cake in St. Louis.
It was a long, hot day. One of the last out-of-state stops on the tour before they headed back for a gig in Fort Wayne and Gareth had been eyeballing the little stand hocking baked goods all day.
He'd gotten the last slice at the end of the night.
"I seriously wouldn't eat that if I was you," Dave scrunched his nose in disgust. "It's been out all day."
"It's no different than any of this other fair food we've had," Gareth simply shrugged and shoved a bite in his mouth. Heavenly, he thought as his tastebuds exploded with rich sweetness.
"Your funeral," Dave scoffed.
And wouldn't you know? It nearly was.
It started with the rumbles late into the night, Eddie at the wheel driving along long stretches of dark rural highway when Gareth started groaning from his place in the back.
"Lemme know if you're gonna shit yourself," he called back and tossed their handy-dandy bottle of pepto to his friend. "We're probably not gonna reach a rest stop until we hit the interstate so I'll have to pull over."
"I'll be ok," Gareth grunted and chugged the chalky pink liquid.
But by the time they got on the interstate, his aching stomach turned into sharp pains, everyone was awake.
Then they all started to worry when he announced, maybe two hours away from Hawkins, that they needed to pull over so he could puke.
"I swear to god if you puke in my van," Eddie tried to grumble lightheartedly but as soon as the van was in park, Gareth was tripping over Dave's legs and their equipment to empty the contents of his stomach.
And when he was done? He looked like a corpse.
Green around the gills, hair matted with sweat, eyes glassy.
Jeff traded seats with him for the rest of the ride home and Eddie drove through some fast food place to grab as big of a sprite that he could and a plastic bag in case they couldn't stop in time.
Eddie broke more than a few traffic laws just to get back home a little faster.
It was scary, for all of them, for their little buddy to be so visibly sick, shaking with the chills, and--at least in their eyes--on Death's Doorstep.
Finally when they pulled into the Emerson's driveway, it was like a full team operation to get Gare into the house and into bed, the little trashcan from the bathroom set up beside him.
Mrs. E was worried--relieved that they made it home safe, but worried--and it had the other three boys feeling so guilty for taking this trip in the first place. Especially if anything terrible happened to their friend.
Come morning, Gareth woke up feeling worlds better--empty--and shocked to find his friends asleep on the floor of his bedroom.
"Uh, guys?" he woke them up, voice scratchy. "Guys wake up."
Before he realized, they were all awake and piling onto his bed to touch his forehead and rub his stomach and Dave even had the audacity to comment on how bad his breath was.
"Get off," he chuckled and pushed his friends away.
"How do you feel?" Eddie questioned.
"Better, a little sore," he admitted. "Feels like I ate shards of glass. But better."
"Maybe you did," Dave tried to laugh his worry off. "I told you not to trust that cake."
It got a chuckle out of everyone, and Gareth vowed not to trust fair food ever again.
"I don't think I'll ever eat again actually," he groaned.
But when Mrs. E woke up soon after and came to check on the boys, then said she was making breakfast, Gareth was the first to admit,
"What are we having? I'm starving."
